Natsu and Lucy going on a date :)
-
LUCY
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god," I exclaimed loudly, rummaging through my wardrobe to find a good outfit. I'm so late already.
Shit I need to hurry up.
"Just grab some leggings and a hoodie and roll with it," my roommate, Mira, said. Unlikely of her to say that, seeing as she's literally a fashion student.
After I put on a decent outfit, not taking her advice, I strolled out of my room. I hurriedly ran to the main building, slapping myself for my stupidity of not setting up an alarm.
Two weeks have already passed since that party and my life has become uneventful again. The only nice addition would be my daily chats with Natsu.
He still hasn't planned a date for real, and I don't want to get my hopes up, but he asked me out, right? It would be a low blow to not go through with it.
Maybe I am a dry texter? Nah, can't be. If anything, he's the boomer. So many spelling mistakes in his messages as if he can't type right. Like a boomer.
We also saw each other on campus sometimes and waved at each other with a twinkle in our eyes. We didn't really talk, because we were both with other people then.
I entered the classroom quietly, meeting the stern and disappointed glance of my professor. I quickly slipped out an apology before taking my seat.
"Why are you so late?" my seatmate Sam asked. At least one of us looks put together.
"Overslept," I replied silently before focusing on the topic at hand.
I furiously scribbled down notes as our prof made it a challenge to talk as fast as possible.
After an hour and a half we were dismissed. I packed up my stuff before I heard the prof call out to me. "Lucy, a word."
"Oof, good luck with that," Sam teased, throwing me a smile.
I like him. Not like like, but I wouldn't mind hanging out with him. I stuck out my tongue. "Just leave."
Our professor was a woman, who looked like a child to be honest. She had long, wavy blond hair and wore a dress most of the times. But she's so smart. Like ridiculously smart.
"Yes?" I stood before her desk, while she was ordening her papers.
"Why were you late?" she asked without looking up.
"I overslept. I'm sorry. It won't happen again," I said quickly with a light bow.
"You better. I don't like tardiness," she said simply.
I stood there awkwardly, not sure if I was dismissed or not. There was a knock on the door. "Ey, miss Vermillion, I've got your papers."
My eyes went wide for a second. That voice.
And sure enough, Natsu walked in, his smile widening when he saw me.
Mavis finally looked up, breathing out in relief. "Thank god, Natsu. You're such a life saver."
I tilted my head slightly. This seems a little more than a student/teacher relationship with the way they're so comfortable with each other.
He handed some papers to her. "My pleasure." He eventually stood next to me, still looking at her. "Why is she here?"
"None of your business," she responded blankly.
He held up his hands in defense, chuckling. "I disagree. I want to know why Luce is being held hostage here."
Oh my lord. I elbowed him hard, has dropping. Don't piss off the professor. Damn. I carefully looked back at miss Vermillion, surprised to see her amused.
"You are both dismissed," she said with a wave of her hand.
Immediately Natsu grabbed my hand and we basically ran out. I took my hand out of his grip. "Seriously? Hostage? The audacity to say that to a prof."
"She's my sister, Lucy," Natsu said and laughed loudly.
I blinked one time. Two times. "Huh? But you have different surnames."
"Not by blood, by bond. Our families are so close, I like to refer to her as my sister," he explained. He shoved a hand through his hair. "But enough about her. The date. Are you free today?"
I blushed furiously, not expecting it today. Fuck, I don't even look and feel hot right now.
"You still want to?"
He frowned. "Did you think I was joking?"
I shrugged. "Maybe it was a in the heat of the moment thing. Wouldn't be surprised."
He laughed and grabbed both of my arms, bending a little down to be on my eye-level. "Where is that confident hottie who asked me to come into her room?"
"That hottie doesn't feel like a hottie right now," I half-joked.
Every ounce of amusement died in his eyes. "Damn, we athletes must really have a bad reputation because I'm really not that surface-level, Luce. I want a date because I feel like we're going to have amazing chemistry."
"Sorry, my head has been all over the place."
"All the more to go on a date today, babe. Let's have some fun," he said, a careful smile on his face. He swung our arms to left and right.
"Stop it, people are staring," I hissed, trying to draw back my arms. He held a tight grip on it though, preventing me from withdrawing.
"So?" he asked, raising a daring brow.
"Just not a fan of the girls lusting after you."
He stopped swinging, putting a finger on my forehead and flicked it, causing me to groan. "Why did you do that?"
He shrugged. "Felt like it."
I pushed him with a playful glare. "You're mean."
"I'm amazing, thank you very much," he said and slapped a hand on his chest.
Suddenly I was dragged back by someone else. I shrieked loudly, turning around and ready to give them a piece of my mind. I was met with silver hair and immediately composed myself.
Mira was dragging me away.
I still didn't give Natsu an answer. Apparently I didn't need to, because he looked at my disappearing figure with a grin.
"I'll pick you up at eight," he called out. I smiled and gave him thumbs up before he left around the corner.
I grabbed Mira's arm, moving out of her grip. "Why did you drag me?"
"You were getting cozy with Dragneel and it was disgusting."
Immediately we burst out laughing.
She joined me on my bed, sighing dreamily. She lied on the bed. "If only Laxus could ask me out."
Laxus, another player on the hockey team. I smirked, making sure I blocked her vision to the ceiling with my face. "Want Natsu to introduce you to him?"
She shrieked loudly, smacking my arm. "Are you crazy? He wouldn't look at me twice."
I snorted, shaking my head. "You're literally modeling for magazine covers. I'm sure he would."
"I have more to offer than looks alone," she said, groaning.
"All right, can't stand this. I'm gonna ask Natsu to introduce him to you," I said, already grabbing my phone. It was immediately snatched out of my hands.
"This isn't about me. It's about your hot date," Mira said, smiling widely.
I groaned. "He'll pick me up at 8. That's still another 6 hours. Leave me alone."
I eventually decided to do my homework for an hour and then I got an incoming call.
Mira immediately snatched the phone out of my hand before I could even answer the call. She immediately sprinted to her side of the room. I gave her a glare.
"Oeh, it's from your boyfriend," she teased, pressing the green button.
"Yo, wassup," she said, looking at me with a smirk. I stayed seated at my desk, deciding it's not worth the effort.
"Lucy?" I heard Natsu say hesitantly.
"No. Mira. Her best friend. Something you should know," she deadpanned.
"Why do you have her phone?" Natsu said with annoyance in his voice. I giggled. Someone's eager to hear my voice.
"She's too busy kissing her ex-boyfriend."
My eyes widened as this time I made a move to advance towards her. She grinned, her evil eye stopping me from screaming at her.
I sighed, sitting on the bed. This could got two ways. Natsu would want to murder either me or Mira, or he would not appreciate the joke but would still want to go on a date with me.
"Excuse me?" he said indignantly. I lowered my eyelids. This doesn't sound all too good.
"Who's her ex-boyfriend? Leonardo DiCaprio?" he asked with a scoff. "Lucy doesn't have an ex-boyfriend living nearby dorms."
Huh? How did he know. Did he do a background check on me?
"How'd you know?" Mira voiced out my thoughts. She also looked happy at the turn of events.
"I'm her boyfriend. I'm supposed to know this shit."
I smiled. Ugh this guy. We're not even in a relationship and yet he acts as if we are. And I'm wholeheartedly loving it.
"All right. For real though, where's Lucy?" he asked, clearly having figured out Mira was joking. His lying detector is skilled as fuck. I'm so jealous. Mine sucks.
"She's showering. Wanna join?" She wiggled her eyebrows at me, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
All right, that's it, I'm changing roommates.
"No," he told her flatly.
I stood up and stuck out my hand. Mira sighed before returning my phone. She mouthed a 'you're boring' before lying on her bed, watching me.
"Hey, Natsu, it's me. Why'd you call?" I said.
"Thank God you're here. I felt like Mira was interrogating me," he said dramatically. I laughed at the absurdity of his claims. Interrogating? How?
"Sorry. She's one of my best friends. We can't get rid of her."
"Too bad so sad," Mira exclaimed loudly, her smile wide. She was so enjoying this.
"I already hate you," Natsu said, his statement directed at Mira. "But enough about your lovely friend, Lucy. Wanna know the plans for tonight or not?"
I pondered for a moment. "Nah, surprise me."
"Any suggestions? Any do-not-take-me-to-this-place rules?"
My heart warmed at him asking me this. I wouldn't even mind a dinner date, but the guy asking if I have any dream dates or what I don't want makes it more personal.
Mira gave me thumbs up, seemingly thinking the same.
"Just don't go overboard," I replied, clenching my hands in an effort to keep myself from having a heart-attack by the amount of green flags this guy gives.
It was silent for a couple of seconds before he cleared up. "I've got something real nice to do."
"Yeah?" I teased. "It better be a five stars date."
"All depends on your vibe, babe. My vibe is great. I hope you're not the serious kind of girl, because we're going to do something creative."
"You kind of spoiled it already," I pointed out, fake disappointment in my voice.
"What? No, I didn't," he reacted loudly, seemingly offended. "Anyways,"—I've got a feeling that he uses that word a lot—"don't overdress. As much as I'd like to have hot and sexy Lucy, I'd rather have you be comfortable."
"Oki," I responded, my eyes softening at his words.
"Don't underdress either. God knows I don't want to be the only one looking good in this relationship."
"Su-per-fi-cial," I said lowly, trying to hide my laugh but still a small chuckle managed to escape.
He hung up, and I laughed loudly at his attitude.
"I like him," Mira said, nodding approvingly at me.
I stared at my phone. "Me too."
It was almost time for Natsu to pick me up, so I changed into some straight leg jeans and a white crop top with ribbons. The v-line isn't too low, but still enough to show something, you know. Casual enough but still hot.
I wore some jewelry and my favorite lucky charm bracelet.
Suddenly someone knocked on my door when I was just putting on mascara.
"I got it," Mira said and hopped off bed. She swung the door open, her gasp audible from where I stood.
"Hey. You look lovely, Mira," Natsu said, and then formally introduced himself.
"She's taken," I yelled, finishing with blush.
I glanced in the mirror at Natsu, who already stared at me with a tiny smile tugged on his lips. He looked so hot. All he decided to wear was black jeans and a black blouse with short sleeves, one half tucked into his jeans while the other hung loose. Also the top buttons were unbuttoned, showing collarbones. Ugh, my weakness.
He glanced at Mira again, who was busy glaring at me. "Oh yeah? Who's the lucky guy?"
I opened my mouth but Mira interrupted me before I could say something. "Don't you dare say something," she threatened.
"She's got a crush on Laxus," I blurted out, finally done as I turned to face them.
Natsu's eyebrows rose in surprise at my revelation. "Big body builders your type huh? Never imagined that."
Mira crossed her arms, raising one brow daringly. "What's that supposed to mean?"
He held up his hands in defense. "Just saying. Want his number?"
For the first time since forever I saw Mira blush. Aw, she's so pretty. "I don't stand a chance."
"Sure you don't," Natsu answered easily, "he's got those magazines in his room and I'm pretty sure you're on the cover of every one."
"Okay shut it now," Mira answered and hastily pushed me outside.
I stumbled messily into's Natsu's arm, his warmth embracing me immediately.
I looked up cheekily. "Hey."
"Hey, gorgeous," he said and kissed my forehead. We're so comfortable with intimicy already, and I don't even have a bad feeling in my gut.
"Hey, handsome," I responded, standing tall as we both walked towards his car. "All right, where are we going?"
"Bowling, and then another surprise."
My face lit up. It's been ages since I've bowled. "I'm so gonna beat your ass."
He chuckled. "We'll see."
Then we didn't talk anymore. No. We blasted music all the way to our destination and screamed our lungs out. Man, this man even got a nice voice.
"On the name Dragneel," Natsu said as we entered the bowling center.
We were showed the place with the bowling shoes. I immediately did a little tap dancing as Natsu laughed loudly at the immature faces I made.
We had the last row, having a little more privacy than the rest. I was just checking my phone for any missing calls or important messages when Natsu was entering our names.
I turned off my phone when Natsu stood next to me. I looked up, my hands immediately finding his head to smack him. "I can't believe you entered me as hottie."
"One of my nicknames, right?" He shrugged casually, grinning at me with amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Oh my lord," I muttered pitifully as I watched the bowling ball go into the drain again.
"Lucy, baby, you're not kicking my ass at all."
I raised my foot to hit his butt, smirking. "Really?"
He rubbed it painfully, looking at me annoyed. "In a figurative sense I meant," he elaborated tight-lipped. He was ahead of me by 20 points.
It was his turn, and he managed to get a strike so beautifully I was almost mesmerized.
I stood up. "All right, new rule. You have to close your eyes when throwing," I said, sounding like a sore loser. I am.
He gave me a glance as the new pins were getting placed. He dramatically put his left hand in front of his eyes as he rolled the ball again.
My jaw dropped to the ground as he got a double, meaning two strikes after one another. I was left speechless as he threw me a smug look.
"Close your mouth, Luce, you're catching flies."
I mimicked him, pushing him away lightly. He laughed loudly.
I threw him the finger. "Shut it," I snapped playfully when his laughing became almost mocking.
I grabbed a ball, holding my breath as I threw it. I was filled with excitement when I got 9 pins down.
Omg. Wait.
Breath. One more and I'd have a spare.
"I believe in you," Natsu cheered in a high-pitched voice.
I rolled the second ball, my heart in my throat as I watched the ball go into the direction of the left-over pin.
"Omg!" I squealed when I knocked it over. I did a happy dance before Natsu embraced me tightly, lifting me up and spinning me around.
We both smiled at each other during the spin, and my stomach also did a little butterfly dance.
"A pretty end to a pretty nice activity, right?" he said.
We looked at the screen, seeing Natsu had obviously won but the little spare in the corner of my scores already made my day.
I nodded. "Right? I'm the real winner here."
He threw his head back and chuckled, intertwining his hand with mine. "Let's go to activity number 2."
I thought we would be driving towards it again, but Natsu told me it was nearby and a walk would do just fine.
I feigned cramps in my feet. "Ugh, my feet. I can't walk in these heels." I looked at him sheepishly.
He looked down at my sneakers, raising an unimpressed eyebrow. "My foot is literally bleeding because I stepped on a nail. Shut it."
My laughter died down. "Wait, really?"
His face broke out into a grin. "Nah. I'm playing with you."
"Bitch," I muttered.
"Says the one lying about their shoes," he responded quickly, shaking his head. "I'm dating a three-year-old girl."
"We're dating?" I asked with a smile.
"We're literally on a date right now." He knocked on my head, seeing if there were missing pieces of my brain. "Hello? Luce, did your brain cells just die?"
I rolled my eyes. "Funny. I'm dying."
"I'm happy to perform CPR."
I pushed him away from me, stomping towards a building that looked like our destination. I ignored the way my cheeks flushed red. I heard Natsu's laughter behind me. He jogged forward to keep up with me.
I was ready to enter the door of a God knows what when Natsu's arm snaked around my waist. He pulled me closer as we walked towards the back of the building. "You were about to enter a child's birthday party. Can't have you ruining their day, right?" he whispered lowly in my ear.
Well, I've got goosebumps now. This man would sound so sexy in bed.
"How'd you know there is a birthday party?"
"It's a guess. But I'm 30% sure of it," Natsu said and nodded to himself. This guy is unbelievable.
We arrived in a colorful room. What the hell could this be? I was too busy feeling cozy in Natsu's arm that I didn't pay attention to where we went.
The woman behind the desk was eye-fucking my man as she gave him... paint and brushes. What the fuck? Are we painting?
"You can stop eye-fucking him now," I snapped as she gave him a flirtatious smile.
She looked so shocked at my revelation that she quickly apologized and never looked up at us again.
Natsu laughed as we walked into another corridor where we passed lots of other people, especially young people. We went to a private booth...?
"Are we painting each other's nails?" I asked sarcastically.
He grinned. "Even better. We're painting on each other."
"Pardon?" I stuttered, looking at the paint bottles more clearly.
"We're face painting!" he said, waving his hands around.
I didn't know what my face showed, but his excitement, which apparently had been real, died down.
I hold up my hand, stopping his thoughts from wandering to whatever place. This extremely gorgeous, confident man is still someone who could harbor insecure feelings.
"I'm just surprised. Why face painting?"
He shrugged. "I saw it online, and it is fun to challenge each other's creativity. It's also pretty intimate, drawing on each other."
I nodded, getting over my shock and grabbed a paintbrush. "All right, let's do it." This man's ideas, they're so fresh for some reason.
"We can wipe off the paint afterwards, no worries," he said with a snort as he also grabbed a paintbrush. We had small tables next to each other for the paint.
"Are we going to paint each other at the same time?" I asked, tilting my head.
He nodded. "Nothing wrong with a good ol' tradition."
I laughed loudly. "Sorry, but you're gonna look like a clown afterwards."
"I'm counting on it."
Then we worked in silence as I tried painting his face like the face of a lion. After I tried to paint the red hairs Natsu suddenly tilted his head, making my brush go towards his nose.
"Stop moving so much," I snapped with my mouth wide open at my masterpiece ruined.
"Oh shut it, you move way more."
Just like Natsu said, we couldn't stop laughing at all, making the drawing incredibly bad. But it was so much fun.
The way I painted on his face while we were looking straight at each other... the electricity that ran through my body is exactly the way I want to live.
Covered in color, Natsu was still the most beautiful person I've ever seen.
And then my mind suddenly went towards Gray, the guy I had a crush on. The guy who didn't want to kiss me. In a way, I'm glad he didn't, otherwise I wouldn't have been here with Natsu.
Natsu's eyes were glinstering in the light. Oh my lord, I'm so mesmerized by him.
I giggled as his paintbrush reached a sensitive part under my nose. "Lucy," he whined loudly, shaking his head.
I gasped. "My masterpiece!"
"My masterpiece," he countered, crying exaggeratedly.
Ugh, fuck this. I grabbed a new brush with a bright blue color, not matching with a lion at all, and just swiped it across his cheek in revenge.
His eyes widened, immediately grabbing my hand. "You did not just ruin my face with blue."
"You ruined it yourself by moving so much," I exclaimed loudly.
He muttered a curse under his breath as he grabbed pink. Oh shit. He only used water colors, there's no way the color pink belonged on my face.
"No," I shrieked but he already put the end of the brush on his mouth, grabbed both of my arms to stop me from defending myself and swiped a fat line on my forehead.
He let the brush fall and laughed loudly, his grin wide.
I shook my head. I'm on a date with a two-year-old.
"I'm done with my painting."
"Me too," I responded monotonously. We both stood up, walking towards a nearby mirror but not looking at it yet.
"Ready?" he asked, grabbing my hand.
I nodded. "Let's go."
We both counted to three and then looked at our reflection.
Natsu immediately fell to the ground, his chest rising up and down rapidly. He had that breathless laugh, the best kind of laugh. He looked at his reflection again and died of laughter... again.
I had to support myself on my knees as I looked at the horrendous attempt at painting a dolphin. Our laughter filled the whole room and it was honestly one of my best memories.
Only after ten minutes were we done with laughing and we glanced at each other, sweat tangling on our faces because of the laughing.
"My painting is better," I said and stuck out my tongue.
He immediately grabbed his phone, taking a mirror selfie where I posed with a peace sign and a lazy smile.
"What did you do?" I asked as he grinned devilishly.
"Check Insta."
I sighed and grabbed my phone. I ignored all the new notifications as I went to his Instagram. He had an open account, a decent amount of followers as I clicked his profile pic, a new story popping up.
"Which one of us has a better painting on their face," I read out loud, and then a poll popped up. Obviously I clicked on Natsu's face.
He advanced towards me and grabbed my phone. "It's not nice to vote for yourself," he said and tickled me mercilessly.
I tried kicking him off of me but he was too stubborn. And then he grabbed my shoulders tightly and slammed his lips on mine.
We rolled over, now I was lying on top of him as we resumed the make-out session. I couldn't get enough of him. There was a clear storm raging in my stomach.
He groaned throughout the kiss as he grabbed the back of my head to push me closer.
We parted when we had to breath, taking two seconds rest before resuming the kiss.
He kissed so passionately, as if he was starved and I was salvation.
"Ugh, Lucy," he moaned and pushed me away, sitting up straight again. His lips were swollen as were mine, and his hair became more messy than it already was.
He looked like he had sex, were it not for the facepaint.
He eyed my lips appreciatingly. Our work of art were ruined for the millionth time because of the sweet kissing.
I grinned, nodding at him. "Let's wipe the paint off?"
He nodded, walking towards one of the employers and asked for wipes. I sat on the ground, waiting for him to return.
I've figured out that this was just a place made by someone who had much free time on their hands and who loved painting. So this building could be used for private sessions of all sorts of painting.
I couldn't help the smile taking over my face. Maybe this year is going to be good after all.
He returned with a glint in his eyes and handed me some remover stuff and cotton pads.
He set up some music as we removed the beautiful artwork silently.
After everything was off he gave me some moisturizer cream. My heart pounded even louder when he applied it. Men taking care of their skin is such a turn-on.
Ten minutes later we were seated in his car again, smiling like idiots.
We talked about ourselves the whole way back. And just like the day at the party, he escorted me towards my dorm room.
We stopped in front of the door, and I turned around to look at him again.
"I had fun," Natsu said, grinning widely.
My cheeks were hurting because of all the smiling. "Thank you for this date. Best date ever. I give you 5 stars," I said, nodding to myself.
His beautiful laugh boomed through the halls. "Another 5 star. I knew I was good."
"Don't tell me you took other girls to the same kind of date," I said with a raised eyebrow.
"Jealous?"
I shook my head and swung my arms around his neck. "Not at all. The only thing that matters is the present. And right now I'm here with you."
He put his arms around my waist, my skin burning hot with his touch. He leaned in with a small smile. "Damn right," he said before catching my lips in a quick kiss.
He put his forehead against mine. "I want to be exclusive with you, Lucy."
My heart melted at the way he spoke those words. "Then we are exclusive," I mumbled and captured his lips again.
Mira opened the door abruptly, making us break apart in a second. I shrieked loudly, surprised at the sudden intrusion. "It's 11pm Lucy. I thought you would be more responsible. And you, mister," she said and pointed at Natsu, "leave. I don't allow you to be near my daughter again."
We burst out laughing. Natsu rolled his eyes good-naturedly.
He walked away with a smile lingering on his lips. I watched his retreating figure. We didn't need a goodbye. We would see again soon, for sure. And I have no doubt he would be calling me tonight.
He turned around for one last time, putting his hands around his mouth to create a speaker.
"It's so much fun when we're together, Lucy!"
