Natsu had wept until the fount of tears seemed dry. He had beaten with his hands against the heavy door until his knuckles streamed blood. He had shouted until he sank exhausted to the floor.

"Why..?" He whispered.

"Why'd you leave me?" He asked bluntly to the lifeless body.

"Natsu, please. You have to accept that she is gone.." scarlet mage spoke softly while resting her hand on the boy's shoulder.

She wanted to give him comfort, as big sister would.

"Erza.. I can't live without her, I don't want to.."

It was more than crying, it was the kind of desolate sobbing that came from someone drained of all hope.

"Don't say that, you'll heal, we all will... I hope."

"We won't.. she's the one who brought us together, don't you realize it? Before Luce came, we were all in separate teams, we didn't really care about each other. All I cared about was going on jobs with Happy, and finding Igneel. And when she came, we all laughed more, connected more.." he covered his teary eyes with his palms. 

"And now she's gone. She would still be alive if I didn't bring her to the guild. She'd be happy somewhere, she'd be safe.. she.."

The pain took over a portion of his brain. It stole the part of him he most wanted to share with others, his laughter, his generous heart. It was the sort of pain that burned, as if some invisible flame was held against his skin. The emotions of loss are that way, right? Death, abandonment or betrayal, they all lead here.

Erza's eyes widened a bit before she spoke.

"You're right.. she was the light of our guild.."

"Not only that, she was the highlight of my day, someone I could always turn to. She helped me whenever missing Igneel was too overwhelming.. and now I lost her, forever."
