I Wish You Knew - Finale
"Tch." The boy looked around his house as he sat on his bed. It was the first time in forever that he slept at his own house.
He would always sneak into Lucy's house and take her comfy bed. Now when he had the time to think, he noticed how cold everything around him was.
She brought some kind of warmth into his life.
He lost something he never truly had. Yet it hurt, just as bad.
"The stupid fight isn't worth it." He whispered and got up to grab his coat.
The night was cold but it didn't bother Natsu in the slightest. The sky above him was clear, allowing stars to shine bright as he continued his pace.
Knock, knock.
A light sound entered blondes ears as her fluffy eyes opened. She glanced out of the window and saw it was dark outside.
She looked to the door, wondering why would anyone come to her house at this hour. She pulled the blanket off of her and took light steps ahead.
"Who's there?" She spoke, forgetting how her voice was raspy from earlier. She cringed at the sound before turning her attention back to the door.
"It's just me.." a voice said, a voice she knew to the core. She let out a sigh before twisting the door knob and opening the door.
"What do you want?"
"I came to talk." He said and entered the house. He turned the lights on and saw what a mess Lucy was. He gasped sadly.
Her face flustered and she took off to the bathroom, going to wash her face.
As she came out she found Natsu sitting on the bed.
A heavy silence settled over them, thicker then the uneasy tension in the atmosphere. Unsettled eyes glanced unceremoniously around and tried to avoid contact.
"So.. what did you want to talk about?" Blonde glanced in his direction, scanning his movements.
"I.. I just-" he scratched the back of his neck, remembering he's never been good with words.
"Wait here." He told Lucy before rushing through the door, leaving the blonde wondering what he was up to.
10 minutes passed by, then 20, then 30 and so on. Lucy's eyelids became heavier with each passing minute and soon enough, she fell asleep on her couch.
She didn't know how many more time has passed when she heard the door slamming open. She immediately noticed the dragon slayer inside with the box of chocolates, bouquet of lilies and a big stuffed bear.
"That's your way of apologizing?" She asked and placed her hands on her hips.
Natsu scratched the back if his neck once again, feeling like he messed up or maybe this wasn't good enough.
That was, until he heard Lucy burst into laughter. It was a laughter that she could feel in her lungs, so hard that it took her breath away. The lack of oxygen didn't matter. All the anguish of the past few days melted like snowballs in a microwave. This laughter created a small vacation, a blessed relief from all the distress that shoved its way into her brain.
"Thank you Natsu, but a simple 'sorry' would've been enough as well.." she wiped the tears from her eyes when she finally caught some air.
"Well..."
"Yeah, yeah, I understand. I'm sorry, too." They grinned at each other. Both felt like ton of bricks were taken off their shoulders. They came together and shared a loving hug before parting.
