Night had fallen fast upon the land. No more than an hour ago the sky was painted with hues of red, orange and pink, but all colour had faded leaving only a matt black canvas with no stars to be looked upon.

A boy sighed heavily before relaxing his muscles and putting his head against his knees, his arms hugging them closer.

"I miss you.." his eyes glanced at the hard stone beside him.

"I miss your laugh, your smile, your goofiness when no one was watching..." as he spoke, his voice continued to crack. Words coming from his mouth felt like a dagger continuously stabbing him into his chest.

Natsu bit his lower lip until it began shedding blood.

"Every day, I wish I took your place.. I wish I had died protecting you.." He sobbed into his hands and the tears dripped between his fingers.

"LUCY!" He screamed from the bottom of his heart into the sky. The desperation in his voice, in his eyes.. it was as if he lost his other half.

He was noisy, his skin was blotched but there was no one there to witness it, let alone come to comfort him. He could run a mile in any direction and not find another soul. He was alone.

"Please.. I'm nothing without you.." He cried until no more tears came, but still the emptiness and sorrow remained. Dusk fell.

On the first light of the day his still crouched figure remained unmoved. His head buried deep into his hands in front of her grave.

There was nothing left, nobody left, no reason to move... no reason to live.
