"Natsu, you need to calm down, Wendy said she's going to wake up." A scarlet haired wizard put her hand on the boy's shoulder in an attempt to give him comfort.

He continued staring into the cold floor beneath him. His heart kept racing, thumping out of his chest.

- at night -

A silhouette. All Natsu could see was a dark silhouette, its body illuminated by the sun bright light.

He was kneeling down, unable to move a muscle.

The body all too familiar began moving towards him. As it came closer and closer, he could make out it was a girl. Not any girl, the girl he fell in love with, the one he married.

She stood right above him and glanced at him painfully while tears streamed down her angelic face. As if she knew something he didn't. Her body bent down on his level. She placed her hand on his cheek and forced a sweet smile.

"I'm sorry.." she whispered before she began disappearing into the air right in front of him.

His eyes widened, he shouted for her to stop, to come back.. or at least, to stay a little while longer.

But she didn't.

Natsu's body shot up from his slumber. His heart aching with pain and panic. It all eased down when he spotted Lucy sleeping on the hospital bed.

He got up from his chair and caressed her warm cheek. He connected their foreheads while still keeping his palm on her face.

"Please, wake up soon.." he exhaled.

Hours passed, even days, but he stayed. He stayed by her side day after day.

As the boy was walking back into the hospital room he saw a tiny girl walking out. Her eyes were swollen from tears. Her cry meant only one thing.

"N-Natsu... I'm so sorry.."

The nausea swirled unrestrained in his empty stomach. Her words haunted him, taunted him, replaying in his head like a never ending echo.

"W-What..?" He stuttered while he could feel his heart breaking.. one peace by another, slowly and painfully. He wanted to cry, he wanted to scream but he couldn't, he couldn't move.

"N-No.. She was alright an hour ago! What the hell are you saying, Wendy?!" He shouted and ran into the room.

He saw Lucy's body covered by a white sheet. His world crumbled down right then and there.  He ripped the sheet off her body and grabbed her bu the shoulders, he began shaking her violently.

"Luce, wake up! Don't you dare leave me! Lucy! !" Heavy, the air seemed to be agonizingly long as moments drew on. The world turned into a blur, and so did all the sounds. The taste. The smell. Everything was just gone. Natsu paused trying to hold back a feeling of rumbling inside him but he couldn't.

A lone tear traced down his cheek, and fell on blondes cheek. Just like that, the floodgates opened. So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down his face. His chin trembled as if he was a small child. He breathed heavier than he ever had before. He was gasping for air that simply wasn't there. His throat burned forming a silent scream.

Emotional pain flowed out of his every pore. From his mouth came a cry so raw that even the eyes of the strangers outside were suddenly wet with tears. He grabbed onto a chair so that his shaking would not cause him to fall.

He was loosing his mind. He could feel it unraveling, the threads of every happy memory he could ever once recall, all but a disarray of strings scattered around his feet.

It was like a void to him. A dark void. A never ending dark void that consumed everything, so he was left feeling nothing. Empty. Nothing to subside his hollow soul that creeped in the shadows, away from any other human life.

For the first time in his life, he found himself alone. He sat alone and utterly terrified in the darkness. The dark consumed his now frail form. Lucy wasn't there to soothe his fears anymore, nor was anyone..
