Three figures walked down a wide limestone track, not quite leisurely, for their large packs on their backs had started to dig into their shoulders, but they were happy.

Lucy hummed a sweet melody as her feet tapped in the rhythm while walking.

Natsu walked alongside her, his head up high.

They were on their way to another job. Just the three of them. People who shared the strongest bond in the guild.

"Are we there yet?" Blue exceed sang in complaining tone.

Two other mages shared a look between glancing back at the cat.

"We left the guild hall 15 minutes ago.." they said.

"So.. how does it feel to be engaged, Lu-chan?" Blue haired girl asked with a big grin plastered across her face.

Lucy lowered her head to glance at the shining ring on her left hand.

"It feels weird, but in a good way.." she smiled.

Blonde smiled at the memory and looked at her fiancé. So shall it stay put, a smile eternally stained upon her lips. Her joy, her love, her laughter, her cheer. All would reach the ears of those who have forgotten the warmth of such harmonies. She could share it all. She could play life's song, the swelling symphony that can mend any broken heart.

"What're you so happy about?" Natsu asked with a soft smile.

"I'm just happy to be your fiancée.." she smiled back, it caused a blush of roses, that peek of champagne pink. The colour infused cheeks dimpled with the blossoming smile and his eyes shone in a way that only deep happiness can bring.

"I'm happy, too." He covered his mouth to hide what was going on on his cheeks.

"Natsu! Look out!" Blonde shouted as the gang of mages suddenly ambushed the trio.

Before Fire mage even had the time to think, a big blow of energy hit him. It sent him flying and hit the edge of a mountain near by.

Lucy transformed into her Taurus x Virgo form and called upon Lion Maiden.

Suddenly, the ground under neath them began to shake and meteors filled with Regulus power came crushing down on the enemies.

They remained on the ground, defeated.

Blonde rushed to see if Natsu was alright. Once she set foot on the ground to run it would be too late. Already her heart rate was accelerating and her mind replayed the worst scenarios on a short loop.

She fell on her knees right beside his unconscious body. Her immediate action was to check on his pulse.

Happy didn't even need to ask anything, the look on Celestial mages face told him everything. His eyes began watering as he sobbed. He flied to the other side of Natsu's body and clenched onto his arm, begging him to wake up.

"Don't worry, Happy.. his pulse might be slow but I can fix it."

"Please save him Lucy..!" Tiny cat pleaded in desperation. Blonde gave him a nod and sighed to him to move away.

She placed her hands above his chest as they began glowing. The light was so blinding Happy had to cover his eyes with his little paws.

When he felt safe to open them he was greeted with Lucy's smile.

"Did it work..?"

"It did, no need to worry.." she ensured.

"Happy, please take him to the guild's infirmary for another check, just in case. I'll meet you there." She ordered, and soon the two of them flied away.

As soon as Happy was out of sight, Lucy let her tears run freely and just like that, the floodgates opened. So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down her face. Her chin trembled as if she was a small child. She breathed heavier than she ever had before. She gasped for air that simply wasn't there.

Her throat burned forming a loud scream that was heard through the forest.

The walk to the guild was a long one. She knew Natsu would be okay, but.. the price of the spell was a heavy one.

"You said you wanted join Fairy Tail, right? So come on!"

"We don't have to know what tomorrow holds. That's why we can live for everything we're worth today!"

"Luce.. will you continue to be my best friend for the rest of your life?"

"You made me happier then I ever thought I could be."

Every memory played like a song in her head, repeating itself for what seemed like forever.

The boy slowly opened his eyes, it took him few moments to get used to the light. He scanned the room to find a blue exceed sitting on a blond girl's head.

"Happy!" He yelled as the blue ball of fur flied into his arms for a long hug.

When they parted he glanced at the blonde who sat at the chair close to his bed.

"Who are you?"

"I'm a friend.."

At first, Lucy thought grief was something bad that takes you ten feet under but soon she learned that it was just the price she had to pay for loving someone.

basically he remembers everyone except for the person who casted the spell. all the feelings and memories of them are gone.
