Fallen Star

Under a sky of perfect midnight velvet, under stars so brilliant they drew the eyes heaven bound, a pink haired boy sat on a field with his eyes gazing at the sight.

I wish Luce could see this.

His eyes suddenly went form gazing into the diamonds of the sky to the grass in front if him. His mind now only able to focus on the memories of her.

She was his burning star.

When his eyes met the sky once more they noticed a single star falling down. He was quick to close his eyes, collide his fingers together and did something that was considered childish.

He made a wish.

Once his eyelids opened a sigh climbed out of his throat. He knew what he wished for wouldn't come true, yet he still had that inch of hope inside of his heart.

He stood up on his feet and began walking at small pace. His hands were tucked into his pockets comfortably as he was headed to a specific destination.

As his feet continued stepping in front of each other, the boy couldn't contain his mind from thinking about something.

Her.

"Hey Natsu! Let's go on a job!"

""Pff... hahahhah! You're able to tell a joke after all!"

"I don't ever want to lose you, you know.. I hope we stay together forever.."

His eyes closed forcefully from painful flashbacks that filled his head.

It felt like emptiness in his heart, a shear of nothingness that somehow took over and held his soul and threatened to kill him entirely.

It gave him this heavy feeling that felt like the weight of the world was resting on his shoulders and there was nothing he could do to get out from under it.

It's like this hole in his heart that is the shape of the one he lost and that made him feel the need to wipe away any non-existent tears that he wanted to form but couldn't.

The boy gritted his teeth as he came to his destination. A cemetery.

He stood in front of a specific grave. A specific person.

The awful hollowness, the waves of wretchedness threatened to engulf his mind, body and soul.

His deep green eyes well up and tears began streaking down his face, his lips were trembling until he bit and covered them with the back if his hand.

I never got to tell her I loved her one last time. I didn't get to hold her close, before she slipped away. I never even got to look into her loving, beautiful face, which always brought me so much happiness, before she died.

She was always there for me, smiling and did her best to always make me laugh when I was down; and now she's gone. Forever.

The boy sunk down to the ground. His heart breaking even more than it already was. He could feel every shard slowly breaking and it was unimaginable.

The guilt was consuming his heart and mind. He would never be able to forgive himself for letting her go on a mission alone.

He knew it was risky, but he didn't say anything. He knew it was dangerous, but he didn't say anything.

He had hoped she was capable of doing the job, or at least, managing to come home in one piece.

And now, he's paying the price for not saying something.
