Fire mage glanced out of the window of his tiny house, he let out a heavy sigh before turning around to his blue fellow.

"What's the matter, Natsu?" Happy flied to him and made himself comfortable in pink haired boys lap as he stroked his fluffy fur.

"It's.. nothing. Don't worry about it, buddy.." he smiled sadly at his friend and looked back out of the window. He looked deep in thought which was surprising for a simple minded mage.

"You're thinking about her, aren't you?" he said with sad tone, remembering how close the two partners were.

Natsu and Lucy, the only people in the guild with such deep bond were now.. strangers.

Natsu still glanced out at the nature, hoping that, maybe, his best friend would show up and talk to him again.

It was a sunny day with a gentle breeze blowing outside, it would be the perfect day for another mission if the two weren't in a fight.

The boy let out another sigh, figuring that's not going to happen.

A year already passed since it happened, you'd think he would stop hoping, but he never did.

"I don't think so, Happy. It's my fault we fought.."

"Then you should apologize, as simple as that. You know Lushi will forgive you.."

"I can't.. she doesn't care about me anymore.. our friendship is n-no more.. " he gritted his teeth as burning tears threatened to fall out of his eyes.

- flashback -

"You're going on a date with that guy again? Natsu spit out with annoyance in his voice, it was already Lucy's third date with the same guy and it drove the boy mad.

"Yeah, so what? He's my boyfriend, you know." blonde turned around from the mirror while fixing her messy bun to look at her bestie with a smile.

But that same smile soon faded as she saw him twitch in anger.

"Is there something wrong, Natsu?"

Pinkette stood up from the bed violently and made Lucy step back. She felt scared of him for the first time.

"That still doesn't mean you have to spend all of your time with him! I don't like the guy one bit, I have a feeling he's going to hurt you!" He snapped. He knew his gut wouldn't lie to him and it was too frustrating for him not to be able to be with the blonde at all times.

"You're just jealous of me having a date! I don't want to ruin this, Natsu! I know he's a good guy, my gut is telling me he genuinely cares about me! And I deserve love in my life, I'm tired of being single, alright?! If you really cared about me you would at least try to understand me.." She snapped back and whispered the last sentence.

"Are you saying I don't care about you now?! If anything, I care about you the most but you don't give a fuck about me, do you?!" He shouted.

"Natsu, that's not what I meant, I do care about you.." she whispered and reached her arm out a bit as her eyes became watery and her heart began aching more.

"It sure seems like you don't!" He sent her a glare.

"You know what, I don't care! Be with him! But when he hurts you don't come crying to me!" Dragon Slayer shouted and jumped out of the window. He put his hands into his pockets and angrily stomped to his house.

After the blonde heard Natsu's words her heart dropped to her stomach. She covered her mouth with her palm, preventing any more of her heart aching sobs to come out.

"You dumbass.." she cried.

- flashback end -

"You have no idea how much I wish I kept my mouth shut.." the boy leaned into his palms as he finished telling Happy what had happened.

Blue neko looked at the floor, a bit surprised Natsu could snap at Lucy like that.

Happy didn't even have time to respond, the boy stood up from his sitting spot and headed to the door.

As he was about to open them he heard a light knock on it. He twisted the door knob and on the other side stood a blond haired girl with her head low.

Natsu's body froze from the shock of seeing her, but he couldn't deny his happiness either.

He thought none of this was real, just another dream, until she clenched onto his vest with her hand, still too ashamed to look at him.

"Natsu.." Lucy let out a sniffle which worried the boy.

"Lucy, a-are you crying?" He questioned quickly and let her in without hesitation.

"I-I'm sorry.. I know you said you didn't want me coming to you crying, and I know you don't care about me anymore but I -"

"No! That was a lie! Lucy, what happened? Did that bastard hurt you?" His blood began boiling as the blonde gave him a nod. She placed her head on his chest and cried.

Natsu's body began shaking from anger but he still managed to gently wrap his arms around the Celestial mage, giving her comfort.

"You were right! You were right all along, like you always are and I was stupid and didn't believe you!"

"Shh.. it's gonna be okay.." he said gently while rubbing her back.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Natsu placed his palm on blondes cheek and wiped the remaining tears. Before he could remove his hand, Lucy placed hers above his.

I missed your touch so much, Natsu...

"He.. well, everything was fine at first. He was kind and thoughtful, but as time passed his mask started falling off. He became violent with his words and today his words turned into actions. I tried getting out of this but he threatened me he would hurt the guild and himself if I told anyone.. I was so scared, I wanted to tell you for so long but I felt trapped.." she started sobbing again and without the second thought, Natsu held her in his embrace once more.

"Lushi.." Happy cried and hugged the blonde right after she and the boy parted.

"Happy, I need you to stay with Lucy for a while. I need to go and teach someone a lesson they'll never forget." He growled as flames danced from his body.

"No, Natsu! He's not worth it, just leave it alone." She begged but nothing could stop him from going. Not even she could stop him from doing this.

The doors of Lucy's house slowly cracked open as the furious mage walked in, his eyes covered his eyes as dangerous aura came from him.

"Oh, Lucy.. you came back, did you learn your lesson?" A man said from another room.

Natsu grinned sinisterly and slowly made his way towards the voice. When the man saw the demonic looking man his face turned pale.

"W-W-Who are y-you..?" He stuttered, feeling the deadly aura coming from Natsu. It felt like a beast was let out of the cage who didn't eat in weeks and it was about to get a taste of his victim.

Dragon Slayer didn't say anything as he was walking to the man. Once he got close enough he took him by the neck and lifted him into the air.

"I'm gonna make you pay for even stepping into Lucy's life.."

His fingers dug deep into Luke's flesh.

"After I'm done with you, you'll wish you were never born." He threatened with a sinister smile as the man screamed in agony.

After few minutes the man fell on the floor, his whole body was burnt to a crisp. He took short breaths as his whole body trembled.

"If you ever, and I mean ever even try coming back into Lucy's life again, I swear I'm going to hunt you down and make your life a living hell.."

And with that, the man sprinted out of the house as far as his legs could take him.

"Thank you.." blonde whispered as she wrapped her arms around Natsu.

"Luce.. I owe you an apology.." the boy, now calmed down, started.

"Huh? No, you don't, I was in the wrong."

"I'm sorry for the things I said a year ago. I didn't mean any of them. I cared about you then, and I care about you now, I never stopped. I hurt you and that's unacceptable. I know I'm asking a lot from you right now, but can you forgive me?" He said with eyes full of regret, nervous of the things the blonde might say.

"Natsu.. of course I forgive you.." she smiled at him which made his heart skip a beat. His body began moving unconsciously and he leaned in, closing the space between them.
His heart finally felt at ease when she returned the kiss.

"I never stopped loving you, either.." he uttered between the kisses.
