The year X791

After all the craziness on Tenerou Island had passed, we learned that seven years have passed along with it. I guess time flies when you're saving the world. But I never thought I would ever experience anything like it, but I guess that's the part if the job.. I've made wonderful memories since I joined Fairy Tail. Lucy introduced in her head.

"Seven years... we missed so many important things. Romeo grown into a handsome yound wizard, Jet and Droy got older and wider, Alzack and Bisca are razing the new generation of the guild.. and on top of that, everyone are recovering from finding out about Gildarts and Cana.." Lucy rambled to Plue as she looked up at the sky and remembered a certain man.

"Makes me think about my dad.. poor guy, it's been seven years since he heard anything about me, he must be worried sick.." she gighed and kept her head low.

"Maybe it's time to pay my old mad a visit, what do you think Plue?" She asked a dogy spirit as it shook.

"Pun, pun!"

"I think so too! Let's go!" She announced and began packing her thinks.

She was in the middle of putting her stuff into her small bag when a well known Dragon Slayer entered her home through a window.

"Heya~ whatcha doing, Luce?" He questioned as he jumped into Lucy's apartment.

"I'm packing my things, I'm going to visit my dad," she said with a soft smile, she was really looking forward to see him.

"Me and Happy are coming too!"

"What? Why?"

"Because we have no money and we also want to" Natsu complained as Lucy gave a sigh of defeat, she really didn't want to argue with him right now.

"I'm never riding that stupid train again!" Natsu whined as his spirit visually left his body.

"You say that every time, Natsu," Happy reminded as his floated above his head.

~ Love and Lucky ~

"Excuse me, may I ask you something?" Lucy asked the lady who was working on a reception of the guid.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Would you happen to know Jude Heartfilia we're visiting today, he's still registered here, isn't he?" The blonde asked as the lady on the reception had an uneasy look in her eyes, like she was struggling to say something.

"U-Uh.. would you be.. Jude's daughter by any chance?"

"Yup!" Lucy answered with delight, the woman's head lowered in uncomfortableness.

"Is there a problem, lady?" Natsu asked from behind Lucy's back with crossed arms, with Happy resting on his shoulder.

"Do you have his home address?" Lucy asked, still not getting why was the lady so uncomfortable.

"U-Um, actually.. I'm really sorry for have to tell you this, but Jude passed away a little over a month ago.. it was a shock to all of us.." she said as her voice became even more shaky. Lucy's smile faded and eyes widened in surprise as her orbs shrunk, she let out a slight gasp.

The weight of those seven years... keeps piling on.. Lucy thought as she had flowers on her hands, standing in front of er fathers grave. Natsu and Happy patiently waited behind her, both of them felt sympathy for her. Especially Natsu, since he knew how it felt to lose a father, well, not exactly, he still had faith that his papa was alive.. while Lucy.. didn't.

The clouds slowly floated in the sky as Lucy, Natsu and Happy walked their way back to Magnolia. Happy and Natsu were walking few meters behind Lucy to give her space, Natsu was worried, but he knew that was what she needed the most right now.

"Lucy..?" Happy spoke softly in hope to lighten up the mood, but Natsu was quick to stop him.

"Happy." He said in serious tone and shook his head 'no'. Happy sighed sadly and continued walking.

"So, like, my old man is su fricking annoying, right?" A brunette woman complained to her friend as they were walking pass the three of them. Lucy gave her all to ignore it, but she felt heaviness on her chest.

"Yeah, and my dad is so irritating.. and he smells!" The other one said as Lucy's eyes remained covered by her bangs.

"Wouldn't it be great if they, like, dropped dead?" One of them said which made Natsu lose it.

"What's the matter with you! Read the mood! Get the hell outta here!" He yelled, making them look at him weirdly.

"We already were leaving!" she yelled back as it made Natsu growl loudly.

"Cut it out." Lucy spoke which made him fully concentrate on her.

"O-Okay.."

"Sorry for putting you through al this trouble.." she said sadly and lowered her head once again. Natsu crossed his arms and carefully listened to her every word.

"Are you going to be okay, Lucy?" Happy asked worriedly, Lucy said yes and told them how she couldn't cry. She asked if at the end her father even meant anything to her..

"Of course he did, it doesn't matter if you cry or not.. that still doesn't mean you care any less about him.." he said and it sounded very wise, he was clearly talking from experience. Lucy loved the fact that he was goofy, but she loved even more that he knew when it wasn't the time for goofiness.

"You're right, I know that.." she copied the words her father said to her in Califa. "I already feel better.." she smiled softly and looked at the sky, sadness clearly visible behind that smile.

When Lucy and Natsu parted ways, she headed to Magnolia park for a walk. She sat near a tree as she looked at fathers and daughters laughing and being a lovely family she never had.

Her landlady stomped towards her as she grabbed her forcefully and dragged her to her old apartment.

"Ahh! Somebody! Help!" She whined.

The landlady threw Lucy into her old apartment as she looked around in surprise. All of her stuff are still at the same place and it's all clean.

"I've been cleaning it every week. I've laid all of your mail, on a table over there." Lucy noticed her closet full with gifts as landlady continued. "Without fail, they would show every year on the same day.."

'For my dearest daughter, Lucy, happy birthday, from papa..' Lucy gasped as she read what was written on one of her presents.

He... remembered..? She thought as flashes of memories appeared in her mind. All the countless times he forgot all about her birthday, and how much tears she shred because of it.

"Oh yeah.. The one on your bed came in this morning," she said and backed up, giving Lucy little more space.

Lucy kneeled down and opened a letter that was placed with the gift.

My dearest Lucy, happy birthday,
as I write this letter, I find myself wondering when you're going to read it. A long time have passed since the news of your disappearance reached me, I am very worried, but I have faith that you're safe. You're just like your mother, stubborn as a rock and blessed with luck. I'm sure you're fine and that I'll see you again someday. I'm thinking about you and Layla every single day, that keeps me going.. I miss you terribly, but I hope you're living your life to the fullest. Please, never forget, how proud I am of you..

"I won't dad.." she whispered.

Lucy, I love you, that is one thing that will never change..

Droplets of tears fell on the paper as she felt sadness wash over her. The tears came like waterfall. She was heavily sobbing as her landlady glanced at her with sympathy.

"Bye daddy, I love you too.." she cried out and slammed her head to her mattress, crying in it.

A knock was heard on the door as the landlady went to open it, as she did so, it revealed a pink haired, worried looking boy.

"Is Lucy here, I came to check on her.." he spoke, but the landlady didn't need to say anything, he already heard her crying. He pushed lady aside and went in. He immediately sat next to Lucy and rubbed her back.

"Shh, it'll be alright.." he spoke softly as her head lifted, exposing her bloody and puffy eyes. Natsu could feel his heart sink into his stomach for seeing Lucy like this.

"Natsu.." she sniffled and jumped in his arms, knocking him on the ground. Her arms were firmly holding his coat as she cried on his chest.

"I'm here, everything will be okay.. Luce.. I'm here for you," he slowly wrapped his muscular arms around her, carefully not to hurt her.

"I miss him, I want him here with me! I want him back!" She shouted as her grip tightened, Natsu laid there, he kept rubbing her back and stroking her hair.

After awhile she calmed down and fell asleep on his chest, he felt relieved that she could sleep. He got up carefully and placed her on the bed, he covered her body with blankets so she could be warm and then he climbed in the bed with her.

As he lied there, looking directly at her sleeping face, he felt sympathy for her again, she went through so much and she's still so young. He admired how she could still smile after all the events that happened. He smiled softly and placed a hand on her hip, pulling her closer so she was close to him. Her warm breath on his neck sent him goosebumps and he felt butterflies in his stomach. He didn't know what this feeling was, but it didn't matter right now. All that mattered was that they were together..
