"Oi Luce, wanna go on a job? Just the two of us!" Natsu yelled across the guild hall as he waved the job request in the air while jumping up and down. Lucy turned around, her face a little bit more pale than usual. She giggled and nodded her head.

"Alright!" He cheered with his fist in the air and grin on his face. He went to the bars' direction and soon enough, he was right next to his girlfriend.

"Tell me if you like this one." Natsu said and gave Lucy the paper. She read it and it was about fighting robbers in the village that was quite far away. Once again, she nodded her head and smiled at salomon-haired boy, earning a kiss on the cheek.

"Sign us up, Mira." Lucy said and gave the job request to the beutiful white-haired Take Over mage. Mira kindly smiled at the two and approved them to go.

~The train ride~

"Luce... can I?" Natsu asked the blonde, she had black bags under her eyes but, Natsu didn't pay much attention to it because of his motion sickness.

"You know you don't have to ask anymore, you can lay on my lap whenever you're feeling sick." Lucy explained and Natsu didn't want to waste anymore time, he just collapsed on her thighs. Her fingers running through his soft hair.

"Thanks.." He said and fell asleep. The truth is, Lucy didn't feel okay as well. She was lightheaded and tired. In the past week she has been feeling like this, a lot. Lucy didn't know the reason, all that occurred on her mind was that job she took alone, week and a half back.

She took a job that required her to fight a witch that was causing trouble in the woods near a well known city, Hargeon. Lucy managed to defeat the witch, but before she did, the woman made her smell some weird flower. Few days after, she started to feel the simptoms.

"Luce, wake up. We're here!" Natsu said while shaking her. Her eyes slowly opening from tiredness and somehow, magic loss.

"W-What the..?" She wispered as she noticed random bruises appearing on her body.

"You okay?" Natsu asked as he walked back to her. She quickly covered the bruises and nodded her head.

They headded to the bandits. Of course, they had to make a disguise. They ranted carriage, Lucy was in front and Natsu hid in the back, waiting to suprise-attack the bandits.

Lucy's condition was just getting worse, but she refused to tell Natsu a word before they finnish the job request. After a ride that lasted 20 minutes, Lucy heard a noise in the bushes.

"Natsu, I think they're here.." Lucy said, she heard no response. She turned around to see Natsu on the carriage floor, his motion sickness kicking in.

"HAND ALL YOU HAVE!" Roared a man with black hair and green eyes, wearing a black coat and black boots.

"Who are you?!" Yelled Lucy, the man gave her a deadly glare before slowly stomping her way.

"I am your worst nightmare, miss. And my friend here will be, too." His eyes suddenly changing color to red as he came closer to Lucy's face, touching her chin with his index finger.

"Get away from her! Fire Dragon... IRON FIST!" Natsu roared and jumped out of his hidding spot. Punching black-haired man right in the jaw, knocking him on the floor.

"No bastard touches my girl, ya hear!" He yelled, ready to burn the guy to a crisp.

"That was not half bad.." He said as he rubbed the place where he got punched. His eyes still red, his look going right thru Natsu's soul.

"I'll take on the girl!" Yelled a guy with lightly brown hair and violet eyes. He went straight in Lucy's direction, making her focus on him.

~With Natsu~

"Why are you guys causing trouble? What's even your name?" Natsu asked. The man smirked sinisterly and started laughing like a crazy person.

"Gahahaha! Ohh... that is none of your business, but everyone calls me Red Eyes." He said, wiping the tears from laughing.

"Alright! I'm all fired up!" Natsu said and lighted his right fist on fire, smacking it into his left palm.

~With Lucy~

"You look so pale! This is going to be an easy win!" Yelled an unknown brown-haired man across Lucy. She didn't wait and summoned Leo.

"On your service, Lucy." Loke said and winked at Lucy, she was gasping for air. Loke immidiately went to her side and put his hand on her shoulder.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked in concearned voice. She nodded.

"C-Can you take him out for m-me?" Lucy asked, still gasping. Loke's look hardened as he gave the guy a deadly stare.

"I'll do it as quick as possible." He said and ran to the man with his hand glowing gold with Regulus.

"Regulus Impact!" His fist slammed right in the guys face and made him sent flying.

-After 10 minutes-

"Gah!" Yelled the man and passed out, defeated. Loke ran to Lucy, she was on her knees taking fast deep breaths. She was really pale and low on energy from summoning a spirit.

"Lucy, you look terrible. What's going on?" He held her by the shoulders as he started to dissapear. Lucy lost all of her magic power and passed out, forcing Loke to go back in the Celestial World.

~With Natsu~

"Well... that's what you get when you mess with me! You had that tough guy act and I finished you off under feefteen minutes." Natsu said and looked around, noticing that everything is too quiet.

"Luce! Where are ya?" He cuffed his hands while yelling for her. He walked a little further to find his Lucy laying on the ground, looking like she was on the edge of death.

"Lucy! Lucy, open your eyes! Come on!" Natsu came sprinting and took Lucy in his arms. His eyes widened when he saw her condition. He had to hurry back to Magnolia and look for Wendy or Porlyusica.

On the whole train ride, Natsu didn't became sick, not even once. But he did worried himself sick instead. Please be okay, Luce... I need you. She was in his lap, her upper body resting on his chest. He held her tightly the whole time, planting a kiss on her forehead few times. 

~

"Wendy! Where's Wendy?!" The guild doors slamming open, revealing panicked Fire Dragon Slayer with blonde Celestial Mage in his arms.

"I'm here, Natsu-san! What's the matter? *gasp* L-Lucy-san..?" Sweet blue-haired girl said in fear for her friend as tears began to ran down her cheeks.

"I need your help, Wendy! Please, help Lucy!" Natsu's voice sounded desperate, his eyes were hidden by his hair. Tears coming to his eyes.

"Take her to infirmary!" Natsu did as he was told and all he could do after was wait. Wait and hope that his lover will be fine. But, whatever he tried to do, he just couldn't stop thinking about her pale face. She looked like she didn't sleep for a week, nor like she ate.

"Luce..." A tear slipped down his cheek, that was the final straw. Nothing could prevent him from crying anymore. Nothing could make him feel better, exept for Lucy being okay and awake.

-Time skip, 2 days later-

"How is she, Wendy?" Erza asked while standing next to Lucy's hospital bed. Gray was also there, standing on the other side with his arms crossed. Natsu, who didn't sleep for two days, was sitting on a chair, holding Lucy's hand and looking at Wendy with hope in his eyes.

"Nothing has changed, I'm so sorry.." She started to cry, she barely ever stopped crying in these two days. She felt useless for not being able to help her friend, but fortunately Carla was there to comfort her.

"It's not your fault, Wendy. She'll be fine, we're talking about Lucy here. She's been through worse." Gray walked to Wendy's side and embraced her on his knees, he always saw he as his little sister.

"Thank you, Gray-san..." Wendy sniffed. Natsu's glance was on Lucy, suddenly he felt a grip on his hand. His eyes widened as he gasped.

"L-Lucy?" He said and her eyes opened, she was still pale, black bags under her eyes and lightly purple lips.

"H-Hey guys-" She couldn't finish, she was tackled in a bone crushing hug from everyone in the hospital room. Lucy was happy to see them again after her slumber.

"A-Are you feeling okay, Lucy-san?"

"Do you know what caused your state?"

"We were so worried, Lucy.."

"..."

"Guys stop, don't you see that she just woke up!" Natsu growled to shut them up.

"I might have answers to your questions." Said Porlyusica, walking in with her usual emotionless face.

"I assume friend smelled a fower called Foxgloves, that's one if the most dangerous plants in world. It is toxic from it's root to the flowers. Lucy, were you feeling lightheaded, had headaches or throwing up in the past week or so?" She asked Lucy who slowly nodded her head.

"Yeah, on my last mission. I was suppose to defeat the witch and she made me smell some weird flower... I didn't think much of of it." Porlyusica's eyes grew wide as everyones eyes were on her.

"Lucy... can you excuse us for a moment? Natsu I need to talk to you." She said and once again, Luvy nodded.

-Outside (Start the song ⬆️)-

"What is it, granny?" Natsu asked, worried what the old woman is going to tell him. He just hoped for the best, but he was up for a disapointment.

"Natsu... I am really sorry for telling you this but, after the person smells the Foxgloves flower... t-they have maximum a week or so left to live. The toxic from the flower went in her system and it's slowly killing her organs. Thet's the reason for her headaches and probably loss of magic power..." Porlyusica explained, Natsu's eyes were cowered by the shadow of his hair.

"W-What? That can't be real... Tell me you're joking!! Please..." He fell on his knees, sobbing badly. After few minutes his sadness turned into anger and he punched the wall of the guild, without using magic, his fist went to the other side.

"I'm going to tell her the news... Do you want to be there?" She asked kindly, but Natsu shook his head.

Porlyusica was about to walk into the hospital room, but she heard a heart monitor making a beeping sound and screams for her to come. She knew that something bad was going to happen.

"Lucy! What's going on?!" Natsu screamed.

"She passed out and her heart beat is barely there!" Wendy yelled in tears. Her dear friend and the person she looked up to was on her dead line. She just couldn't take it, so she broke down.

"Give me some space!" Porlyusica yelled and with few doctors they left to operating room. She knew there was nothing they could do, but she didn't give up hope.

Few hours have passed, it was somewhere around midnight when Porlyusica walked out of the room. Natsu and the other's looked up, hoping for the good news. Gray wasn't there, Juvia called him and he left, but promised he would come back the first thing in the morning.

Porlyusica's pity look told them all... Wendy passed out from shock and Carla caught her.

Happy was crying his eyes out while saying Lucy's name. He remembered all the times she would hug him when he felt scared or when she yelled at him, but smiled and forgave him right after.

Erza let out an agonizing scream as her hands covered her face, her tears fell like a waterfall. She couldn't believe that Lucy was... gone. The strong Mage, Lucy Heartfilia, one of her best friends. The memories of them together filled her entire body as she kept her loud cry.

Tears began to fall from Natsu's eyes. He grabbed his black overcoat, his chest hurting badly. He could feel his heart breaking apart. He remebered his moments with Lucy. Their meeting in Hargeon, that started this adventure. He remembered how he confessed to her after he got jealous from seeing her with another guy. He remembered their first kiss, their first date, their first... you know. He couldn't take it, his heart couldn't handle it. He ran out of the hospital, he ran and never came back.

Many years have passed after Lucy's sad passing. The guild tried to move on, but they just couldn't. Not after their precious Fire Dragon Slayer dissapeared. They all went their seperate ways. Little did they know that 5 months later... their dear Natsu took his life. He was finally with his true love again...

You see why I told you I was sorry... I'm sorry for writting so much sad stuff, I hope the future stories will be happier.
