The Realization
"One day Lucy, you're going to meet someone you'll want to protect. Someone you can't stand the thought of being away from. Someone who will open your eyes to a bigger world around you. Once you find that someone, you have to be sure that you'll always be there for them."
"But what if that someone happens to be a bad guy? I mean, there's so many good people out there, but there's also bad people. What if I happen to go for a bad person?"
"Then you help guide them to the right path. You don't force them into something they don't want. You simply show them, and they'll choose for themselves whether or not they want to follow."
"I guess that makes sense. Is it possible to have multiple someone's?"
"On very rare occasions. Most of the time, the other people are just very good friends. The someone will stand out more than you're friends. I'm the contrary, that does not mean you much your friends aside, turn on them, or think of them as the worst. Friends are family, and family stick together."

Lucy sat up in a shock, gasping for air. She looked around and saw that she had left the book closed while she slept. For once, she was grateful for that.
She hugged her knees up against her chest and buried her face.
"You never told me what to do if they insulted that someone mom. Friends are family, but what if they hurt you or your someone? I've killed two of my friends because I didn't know what else to do. What was the right way mom? What was I supposed to do?"
Lucy sat and cried on her knees as this thought lingered in her mind. Natsu sat in his book, hearing and watching Lucy cry and question her actions.
I wish I could help you, but what could I possibly do? Besides, I'm stuck in this-
Before Natsu could finish his thought, he found himself sitting in front of Lucy. He looked back at the book and saw that it was still closed. He sighed, not wanting to think of it now. He scooted over to Lucy and wrapped his arms around her, making her gasp in shock. She looked over at the closed book, and opened her mouth to say something, but Natsu covered it.
"Now's not the time to be focusing on that. Just calm down." He said, lowering his hand and letting her nuzzle her face into the crook of his neck. She let out small tears of regret and sorrow. Natsu brushed her hair with his fingers as she calmed down, and she eventually fell asleep.
Why does the book do random things, at random times? It's getting on my nerves now since I can't figure out it's pattern! Natsu thought, staring at the book for the rest of the night.
