The Book

No one's P.O.V

Lucy was an average teenage girl. At least in personality and looks. Her family however, happened to be one of the richest people in Fiore at the time. Her mother had past and her father ran the business with a firm hand. At the age of 16, she decided to runaway to live her own life, and she eventually came upon a guild, named Fairy Tail. (Basically her actual background)

One day, she finished her last book that she owned, so her and Levy went to the bookshop they had in Magnolia to look for some more. As they went inside the bookstore, Lucy had a strange feeling, but she didn't tell Levy.

The more they walked around, Lucy thought of asking for any unshelved books.

"I'm gonna look over here Levy! Come find me if you need me!" Lucy said, walking to the front desk.

"Excuse me, but do you have any unshelved books? None of these books catch my interest." She asked politely.

"Yes. They're just in the back room over there. I'm not supposed to let anyone in there, but you're a loyal customer. I trust you." The woman at the desk said. Lucy thanked the woman and went into the room, where many books laid dormant in boxes that were covered in dust. Lucy's feeling grew stronger, and as she followed it, she came upon a glass case with a book inside. She tried to open the case, but she couldn't without a key. She didn't want to go through all of that hassle, so she simply grabbed the nearest book and smashed the case open. She carefully pulled out the now glass covered book and read the dusty title.

"E.N.D? What kind of title is that? I want this book though. It looks interesting." She said to herself. She took it to the front desk, and as she showed the woman the book, the woman screamed in horror. Levy came running up and screamed at the book Lucy held as well.

"Lucy?! Where did you find that book?!" She screamed, trying to pry the book from Lucy's hands.

"Stop trying to take it! I want to get this book!" Lucy said, holding the book tightly.

"T-take it! It's yours!" The woman said, backing up to a wall. Lucy shrugged and walked out of the building, Levy still trying to get the book from her.

"Lucy?! Do you not know what that is?!" Levy screamed out tears now, giving up on trying.

"Isn't this the book from the child story? The Demon Book, I think it was." Lucy shrugged, not caring if it was.

"Yes! And they say anyone who has it doesn't last a week! I don't want you to die!" Levy shouted.

"I won't die. You worry to much." Lucy said as she walked up the steps to her house.

"Promise me you won't open the book at least!"

Lucy sighed, but agreed to Levy's condition. Levy let out a sigh of relief and ran back to her own home, leaving Lucy on her doorstep.

Lucy walked into her house and sat on her bed, examining the book. She tried to open it, but she couldn't.

"I guess I can take a bath before I go back to the guild. Then I can figure more out about this children fable Levy was so worked up about." She said to herself, placing the book on her desk and walking into her bathroom.

Once she had finished, she came back into her room.
