The next day, Yukino and I spend the morning looking at houses in the area. We try finding the perfect one that's close to the school and an appropriate price. It's takes hours, until we find the perfect one.

"Lu, look at this one." Yukino points to a picture of a small house . "It's about three blocks from the school and it's right next to the beach." I lean over and look. Sure enough, the house is extremely cheap, with only $550 a month.

It's located on 22 Paris Street and although it's small, it looks quite homey. It's a wooden house and it holds three bedrooms. Which is perfect if we have guests over. There's a white picked fence surrounding it and a little garden in the front. The beach is a three to five minute walk away and the house is close to a shopping center.

"I think it's perfect." I say, smiling. "It's the perfect size and the perfect distance from the school. Besides, I've always wanted to live in a wooden house."

"So it's decided?"

"Yes, lets schedule a visit." I tell her.

A little later, we call the owner of the house and make an appointment to visit and learn more about it. She immediately accepts our request and tells us to come meet her the next day at 11:00 am in the morning.

After we hang up, Yuki and I beam in excitement. As a celebration, we decide to go out to lunch and visit the city. I practice my French while Yukino showers. I took the class in high school and college. I'm really close to being fluent. It's such a beautiful language, and known as the most romantic.

We take the bus to the middle of the city and enter a restaurant right when we get off. After eating quietly with no tv interrupting us, we go explore the city.

"Oh, Yuki!" I gasp and point to something in front of me. It's the Eiffel Tower and it's huge. There's a big line of tourists waiting to see it. By the looks of it, it would almost take an hour for us to wait. "It's so beautiful."

"Lets go!" She grabs my hand and practically drags me there. "Even if the wait is long, it'll be worth it." After two hours we're done with the Eiffel Tower and decide to go shopping.

"Bonjour, Mademoiselles." A woman greets us  with a warm smile when we enter a small thrift shop. "Need help with anything?"

"No thank you." We both smile. "We're just looking around." She gives us a nod and continues to hang up some dresses. Yuki and I walk around, looking at the clothes and giggle when we find something silly. But the most fun part is trying everything we find, even the most ugliest looking outfit.

I end up finding a cute red cocktail dress and three pairs of shirts and pants. Yukino finds two dresses and mini blue skirt. Just as we're about to leave the shop after paying for our clothes, a familiar voice calls my name.

"Lucy?" I instantly turn around and my grin widens when I see a girl with long blue curly hair. She's companied by a girl with long pink hair.

"Juvia?" I squeal and almost drop my bag as I wrap her in a hug. "W-what a-are you d-doing in h-here? I thought you were in Italy!"

"Change of plans." She gives a weak smile while hugging me back. "Juvia had a little problem and had to move schools."

"Oh, no. I'm so sorry. What happened?"

"Juvia will explain to you later." She lowers her voice. "It's too emotional to speak about in public." I can hear the sadness in her voice. Knowing not to press her right now, I let it go.

"So what school do you go to now?" I grin cheerfully, changing the subject.

"Paris College of Arts."

"Really? That's where Yuki and I will go starting this fall!" I gesture to my other friend. "You guys haven't met, have you? Yukino this is Juvia, Juvia this is Yukino." They both hug each other as a greeting and by the looks of it, I can tell their going to be good friends.

"Oh and this is Juvia's cousin, Meredy." She introduces us. She explains to us that they moved here a few weeks ago and found place that's really close the one Yuki and I might get.

Having no other plans, we join them for the rest of the day and explore the city together. We go out for dinner around 6:00 and chat about what we're looking forward to the coming year.

"Hey you girls have any plans next Saturday?" Meredy perks up while we eat desert. The Creme Brûlée' here is so much better than the ones they serve at the restaurants back home.

"No, why?" I ask after taking a bite. The delicious taste lingers sweetly in my mouth.

"There's a Yacht party next week celebrating some famous soccer player and one of his teammates is Meredy's cousin from her dad's side." Juvia explains while wiping her mouth with a napkin.

"Sure, sounds fun." Yukino replies. "You in, Lu?"

"I guess..." I sigh and place my hands on my chin. Meredy looks surprised at my lack of enthusiasm.

"She's not a fan of big parties." Yuki teases.

"Oh, we'll help change that." Meredy laughs. "Trust me, you'll enjoy this one."

I kinda doubt that.

The next morning, we wake up around 9:00 am. I slip off my bed and head into the bathroom. After a quick shower, I dry my hair and put on a red long sleeved shirt with black shorts. After brushing my hair, I tie it into two long pig tails.

Looking at the mirror, I admire myself as I add some makeup and lipstick."Do you think this looks pretty enough for a house visit?" I ask Yukino.

"Yes, it's a nice look." She gives me a thumbs up. "It's the new outfit you got yesterday, right?"

"Yeah, it was a little pricey, but definitely worth it." I smile and spin around. "You look nice yourself." I motion to the outfit she's wearing. A dark green rimmed t-shirt with the rest light blue and the dark green colored skirt.

"Thanks, Lu." She also spins around to show off and we both giggle.

"Speaking of money, we should go look for jobs. Don't you think?" I suggest.

Yesterday we talked with Juvia and Meredy about jobs and they gave us a few suggestions. I'm really interested in working in a book shop or even a library.

"Of course." Yukino replies. "We can go look for one later today after we visit the house."

"Bonjour, you must be Lucy and Yukino, yes?" A brown haired middle aged woman greets us in a French accent when we arrive to the house. "My name Adeline and it is a pleasure to have you come look here."

"Yes, thank you so much for letting us look at it." I gesture to the house gratefully. It was much more beautiful than what the picture showed and the view of the garden, was magnificent.

"No problem." She waves her hand for us to follow her. "Come, I'll show you the inside."

"Here is the living room." She gestures to the room connected to the kitchen. There's a couch a small loveseat with a large TV set in the middle. "The family who are renting this house left many of their belongings for the renters. They'll be back here next year, so no worries. Just be careful when you handle the objects."

"Here is the kitchen." She motions to the small stove and cupboards. "As you see they left you the fridge and a table with chairs. The dining room is over there." She points to the small room on the other side of the kitchen. "And behind that room is the porch. It looks over the water and the view is extremely beautiful. I'll show you after we look at the bedrooms upstairs."

"This is the second floor. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms." We follow her into one of the rooms. It's medium sized with a queen sized bed and a bathroom connected to it. The second room is the same size and also has a bathroom. The last one has a twin bed and no bathroom. Yukino and I exchange a look, we know which rooms we want.

"They all look really nice." We both beam excitedly. "The house is really warm and welcoming." I tell her.

"Merci!" She beams at us. "Glad you like it. Shall I show you the outside?"

"Yes, of course."

The porch is big and the view from there is gorgeous. The sight of the sea makes me smile and I close my eyes at the sound of the waves. I open my eyes a few minutes later and look around. There's already a table and a few sun chairs laid on the porch. This place is absolutely perfect and the price fits our budget.

"So what do you think?" Adeline asks us. "Will you take this place? Yes or no?"

"The rent is $550 a month, correct?"

"Yes, as of a few other side expenses." She took out a folder and showed us all the prices we have to pay. From the monthly rent rate to the household expenses and application and lease fee. The application fee is $30 with a $150 lease fee. "Would you like to think about it? I can give you a few days to decide..."

In the end we decide to take the house. It's a perfect size and price. We paid the application fee and told her we'll send her the signed lease in a few days. After that, we'll move in.

One thing accomplished, now a job to find! Everything seems to be going well with our move, and I hope nothing will change my excitement.

Little do I know my life will change even more...

And it will all start at that fancy yacht party...
