Celestia's Tale of The Four Year Eclipse Part 2: The Black Sun

It only took Nala a moment to realize what he meant, but by then it was too late. While she was distracted Rau used his control over the shadows to move the moon in front of the sun. Creating a solar eclipse, the first one to ever exist in their worlds history. It blocked out almost all light, blanketing the landmass below in near complete darkness. Accompanied only by an erie red glow. Nala trembled.. she could feel the energy being drained from within her as Rau became engulfed in an immense newfound strength. He grew slightly in size and gained a pair of bat-like wings. His laughter echoed throughout the rift surrounding them. Using the last of her own strength Nala tore open a portal back home. She tried to fly through it but couldn't. Her wings, once beautiful, where now disintegrating feather by feather until there was nothing left. She staggered over to the portal, Rau's mocking voice to her back. His last words icy and haunting finely finding their strength. "Take a good look around Nala.... because your time has just run out." She stepped out into the darkened grassy field, closing the portal behind her, the faint echos of his laughter rung in her ears. She took another step, then collapsed from exhaustion.

Many hours passed as she laid there unconscious. As she started to stir Nala could hear voices somewhere in the darkness. Three of them, all unique, two guys and a girl... close. She jolted the rest of the way awake, finding three figures looming over her. All of them foxes but none of them spirits. The one to her left was mostly grey with black markings and brown eyes.

The one to her right was a girl, the top half of her body was purple and the bottom half was white. She had glowing yellow eyes and a collar to match. Her left eye was partially obscured by her long side-swept bangs.

The middle one, seemingly older then the other two, was completely tan with white toes and chest, emerald eyes, and dark brown scruff running down the the back of his neck.

They were talking to each other, seemingly about her. Nala tried to stand up and slipped. The tan fox, just noticing her movement, caught her. He spoke, "Are you alright Miss? You don't look well." She answered him weakly, "I'm fine... Thank you but I need to go.." The grey fox took a few steps closer and interrupted her. "Umm, are ya sure about that? Because just a moment ago I thought you were dead." The purple fox spoke next after stomping on the grey one's paw, making him yelp sharply. "Zayzu!! Don't be rude! And give the poor girl some space." He backed up, whimpering a little, and the tan fox spoke again. "My apologies for him. Please, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Leo. My colleagues are Zayzu and Suziet."

Nala barely heard him. Her mind was racing as she took in her surroundings. She didn't have time to stop and chat. The world around her was trapped in a perpetual darkness and it was up to her to bring the light back. "It's alright.. I'm so sorry but I must go.." She took a running start, jumped into the air, remembering just too late about her wings, and crashed into the ground. The three foxes rushed over and tried to help her up. Zayzu called out, "Hey, hey! Calm down, what's the hurry..? Ya don't need to go adding head trauma to whatever the heck else is wrong with ya." Leo followed his voice soft, "Please, take it easy.. Tell us what's wrong and maybe we can hel-" "No!!" Nala cut him off, turning her face to him but keeping her head lowered. She was panicked and quickly becoming frantic. "You don't understand. My name is Nala. I'm the light spirit. I have to find Rau and put an end to this nightmare he's caused."
