PREPARE FOR RANT/THEORY

I did not ask for that pain

I do not want that pain

I do not want to think that every song from Pretty.Odd. minus Nine has been dropped.

I don't want to think that this song was written by all the members.

I don't want to think whether it affects Brendon or not.

I don't want to think that it reminds him of the good old days.

But guess what?

Now that's exactly what I'm thinking.

I'm rethinking the entire album.I'm thinking how different Nine is in comparison to the other songs from P.O.

It's more joyful.

It's a kind of normal title.

It has a chorus.

Its meaning isn't as deep as the other songs.

So first of all,why does he choose to sing Nine and not-I don't know-That Green Gentleman?Or why doesn't he perform I have friends in holy spaces which was written by HIMSELF?

Is it because Nine is more popular?

Because it resembles the way the new songs are written?Slightly less meaningful,easy to remember and danceable?

Or something else?

My answer is all.

Nine has these characteristics:

-it's one of the most popular tracks from Pretty.Odd.

-It's all these things I mentioned before,danceable,easy to remember,lacking the very deep meaning most of Ryan's songs had

-It was written by Ryan,Brendon,Spencer and Jon

-It brings out pre split-panic vibes

-But it really doesn't

You know what Nine reminds me of?Some of the songs in Vices & Virtues,especially Bittersweet.

Brendon Urie's egoism and bitterness is almost as big as his forehead and about 1/3 as big as his vocal range.

However,if we all have learned something from tv shows/movies/books is that no one can be bitter forever.

So Brendon obviously misses Spencer(he left in good terms and they are still close with each other),he misses Jon because the man is a sweetheart and so underappreciated and he freakin misses Ryan because:

A)The entire Ryan Ross meme with the Gremlin,a century ago

B)The entire "I don't know Ryan Ross" attitude

C)My milk fic brings all the girls to the net

D)How defensive he had gotten when someone was dissing Ryan

And rest my case,ladies and gentlemen.

But the thing is that all these also prove exactly how bitter Brendon can be.

No offense,but like that's my attitude towards Agents of Shield.Meaning yes I miss that(these) asshole(s) but you broke my heart so fuck you.

I'm bitter and salty

But back to what I was saying!

So,question,can someone be bitter forever for something that was a big part of their life and still in a way affects them to this day?

The answer is no

If the answer is yes and you're all like"That's how I am"you're either lying or will very soon have a mental breakdown and just like Hazel in TFIOS...

Well,you see,Nine doesn't remind Brendon of Pretty.Odd. for all these reasons that we said.It is partly a song that he too wrote and when he sings just an upbeat melody he does not think of the band.

Or does he?

Well he doesn't.

But his subconcious does.

In a way,he remembers the good old days(back to the street where we began//feeling as good as lovers can//We're feeling so good)but he without remembering how everyone left him and his forehead.

So to answer the question,Nine in the afternoon does not affect Brendon but in the same way it does.

Think of it as a nicotine patch.

It makes the pain easier.

It helps him without him realising it.

I think I'm having troubles with school starting and this sudden throwing-up urge.
