Nadine's POV

The next day things were akward between me and Oksar. When we passed each other in the hallway he barely looked my way. I understood he was hurt but I didn't expect to be treated like crap.

"Ok what's up with you and Oskar"? Ina asks as we make our way to the computer lab for science class.

"How would I know" I lie between my teeth and I almost feel bad. Ina was my only friend and I felt bad for lying to her. We grab seats in the back our usual seats for this class.

"Well... there is something you should know...just promise you won't get mad". Ina bites her lip giving me a nervous look.

"Why what's up" I lean forward in my seat waiting for her to spit it out already.

"Ok well apparently someone saw Sage and Oskar in one of the classrooms. And.... I heard that they are now like....a couple". Ina gives me a sad look.

I feel a large lump form in my throat. There's no way they could be a couple... not when he basically admitted his feelings for me. And just when things couldn't get worse they walk into the room laughing.

I glare at the pair and I want to punch something. "Uhh Nadine.... your gonna break the keyboard" Ina says grabbing my hand away from the computer. Oskar pulls out a seat for Sage and I see red.

"So it's true! I thought it was just some rumor" Ina whisper yells. I send her a glare before focusing back on them. Sage isn't slick when she wraps an arm around his shoulder.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom" I say stomping out of my seat. I dash out of the room suddenly feeling like the world around me was collapsing. Oskar could take his stupid confession and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

He made me believe him. I honestly felt bad for shutting him down but now I'm almost glad I did. I step into the girls bathroom splashing cold water on my face. As I'm drying my hands Sage walks in unexpectedly.

It's awkward as she smiles at me through the mirror. "Soooo I wanted to let you know before you hear it from someone else. Me and Oskar are dating... I hope it's not a problem" she says with a fake ass sympathetic look.

"Not at all. He's all yours" I say through clenched teeth. I wanted to smash her face in but I refrained myself. I don't say anything else as I make my way back into the class room.

I avoid eye contact with Oskar foing back to my seat. The rest of class couldn't have gone any slower. As the day progresses it's gym time and we are all lined up against the wall.

The coach tells us to run our usual laps. Me and Ina slow jog while the rest of the class basically speeds in front of us. Sage and Oskar are running beside each other and the sight angers me.

"Who knew Sage was his type. Are you sure they're dating" Ina asks as she jogs beside me.

"Apparently. Look I could care less so let's stop talking about them" I say done with the conversation. After we finish our laps we go back to the benches to grab our water bottle.

I drink my water down in one gulp. "Hey Ina I'm gonna go fill up my water bottle" I say walking towards the gym doors.

"Here fill mine up too. I'm all drained from running" she throws me her water bottle and I shake my head. If it's one thing we have in common it's that we both hate gym with a passion.

I fill up my bottle first. I'm in my own world when Oskar leans against the wall next to the water fountain. "What the hell do you want" I snapped with a roll of my eyes.

"I just came here for some water" Oskar says with his hands up. I took my eyes in annoyance. Just looking at his face irks me to the very core.

"Are you seriously coming at me. Your the one who said you didn't want a relationship so I figured I'd find someone else" he gloats with a shrug. I'm so tempted to throw my bottle of water in his face.

"Screw you Oskar. I don't care who you date just stay the hell away from me"! I'm stomp away from the water fountain not even getting to fill Inas bottle.

"Hey you forgot to fill mine" Ina whines when I plop down next to her. I ball my fists still pissed off.

"Here have some of mine" I hand her my water bottle. Oskar comes back into the gym immediately going to stand by Sage. Our eyes lock once again and he states at me intensely.

His green eyes emit so much emotion it's as if he is trying to tell me something. He casts his eyes down no longer looking my way and I feel like some fool. I was stupid to even think he actually cared for me and that I was starting to care for him.

I guess all things were just not meant to be. When gym class is over I immediately head to the girls locker room to change. "Hey let's go to the cafeteria I heard there giving out two sugar donuts today" Ina says excitedly.

Shaking my head we head towards the cafeteria. It doesn't take us long before we are holding our snacks and heading to our usual table. "Doesn't it feel like we do the same thing everyday? Ugh I wish we could go out and do something" Ina groans.

Even though the school did lift some restrictions we were still not really allowed to travel far. We are brought out of our conversation when the school chairwoman blares out of the speakers.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS! WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE. AS A COMMUNITY IT IS OUR JOB TO ASSURE YOUR SAFETY AND WELLBEING. AFTER LONG CONSIDERATION WE HAVE DECIDED TO RESUME ALL SPECIAL ACADEMY EVENTS.

WE WILL HAVE OUR ANNUAL RACE IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.WE WILL ALSO HAVE OUR ANNUAL WINTERS BALL NEXT MONTH. I DO HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING THERE PART. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND DON'T SKIP CLASS!

Ina throws her hands in the air like some wild animal."We need to start shopping now if we want to look hot for the ball"! Ina immediately takes out her phone to scroll through different websites.

So much for peace and relaxation.
