Nadine's POV

"Alright class that will be enough for today". I thank the heavens that class is finished and rush out of the room. Since I had a break I planned to spend my time in the art room working on my project.

I open the map to the school still needing it even though I had already been here for a week. I find it in no time and I silently squeal as there was no one else in the room.

I set my things down before grabbing an apron. I tie my dark hair up into a messy bun and get to work. I open up my watercolor paint. I start off finishing the sketch before outlining it with a fine sharpie.

I dip a small paintbrush into some yellow applying it onto my sketch. I was lost in my own world when I heard the sound of someone stretching. Feeling startled I glance in the corner at someone who looked like he just woke up from a nap.

"Hey... what are you doing here"!  I question clutching my chest.

He doesn't answer right away as he wipes the sleep from his eyes. "Would you mind keeping your voice down, your yelling is causing me to get a headache".

I frown as he stands up.

He was the royal playing the violin!

"You must be the new girl everyone is talking about" he states his brown eyes now wide open.

"What exactly are people saying" ? I place my hand on my hips narrowing my eyes. If I had known I was the talking subject at the academy I would have tried harder to keep to myself.

"It's nothing. I should probably be going". He shrugs leaving the room before I can question him further. I stand gobsmacked.I started to feel insecure at the prospect of me being the schools hot topic of news.

I decide I've done enough painting for today. I clean up my mess placing the the apron back on its hook before walking out. I take out my phone reading the time, I still had around thirty more mintues before I would need to head to my next class.

I walk down the silent halls when I see a cross armed Bianca leaning against the wall.

"Well, well if it isn't the new girl". She wore a smug look as she walked closer to me.

"Uhh.. nice to me-"

"I'm only going to say this once, stay away from Oskar or you won't like what happens" she sneers. I quirk up an eyebrow holding my ground.

"Last time I checked I don't take orders from anyone" I say with my head high. I wasn't going to back down.

"You are really are messing with the wrong girl. I could make your life miserable! If I were you I would do as I say"!

I laugh at her pathetic threat. "I'm not scared of you if that's what you think. Now if you'll excuse me I have somewhere to be" I say knocking into her shoulder as I continue walking down hall.

Life at this academy just got interesting.

"I can't believe you actually spoke to the Logan Callaghan! I mean I've heard he is the quietest out of the royals" Ina says with her eyes wide.

We sat in the students lounge for our lunch break. "It's not like it's a big deal, he just happened to be taking a nap in the art room" I say popping a grape in my mouth.

"Yeah but it's like you are attracting all of the royals and you've only been here a week! I must say I'm impressed" Ina says wiggling her eyebrows.

"Whatever" I say with a wave of my hand.

"Oh I forgot to tell you I ran into Bianca on my way back to the dorm" I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Nadine I told you to stay away from her! That girl is nothing but trouble... if only you knew the things that girl is capable of" Ina grabs my shoulder shaking me about.

"Will you relax, what's the most she could do,complain to the teachers. I'm not worried" I shake my head popping another grape in my mouth.

"I'm telling you that girl is not one to mess with! Last year she bullied a girl so much that she transferred to another school"!

"Well lucky for me I'm not one to back down from a challenge". Ina shakes her head  in disbelief.

"I'm serious Nadine. Be careful... apparently she used to date Oskar, and they broke up over the summer but it's obvious she still has a thing for him". I roll my eyes not the least bit interested in past relationships with people who aren't my friends.

"Look I could really care less about the royals. I'm here for myself and that's it". I end it at that as I fold my legs criss crossed.

"Ok fine, but don't say I didn't warn you".
