Third Person's P.O.V
The next morning, everyone was in the mess hall eating breakfast while Grace was telling her chosen dining table of the day about a certain incident that happened yesterday. Y/n was seated in between her and Jake, eating and laughing at the ginger woman's telling of the story.
"The last thing we see is this Marine's ass, along with y/n and Jade, disappearing into the brush with these two angry thanators coming after them." Grace gestured the thanator's movements with her hands, making the whole table laugh.
"Hey, it's not something you can teach." Jake dismissively said while eating.
"That is awesome." Max grinned.
"You know, for reasons I cannot fathom, the Omaticaya have chosen you. Your sister is at least understandable, but you?" Grace directed at Jake in a slight teasing manner.
"Hey, they chose me too." Jade chimed in.
"God help us all." Grace replied, making the said girl deflate and y/n laugh, along with the rest of the table.
"I'm surprised you weren't killed because of your mouth. Y/n told me about that Papa Smurf comment." Grace said. Jade looked at her best friend with a 'Really?' look, who just shrugged in response. Loose lips sink ships, you know?
"So, y/n..." Max started and the h/c haired female looked up at him.
"A little stingbat told me that you're a mother now?"
Y/n's eyebrows furrowed in confusion and slight panic. How the hell did he know about that? She looked at her younger brother, who shrugged muttering that he didn't say anything and then at Jade, who was trying to hide in her eggs. The ravenette looked up and then quickly back down when she saw y/n already staring at her with a straight face. She could feel her eyes burning holes into her skull.
"You just can't keep anything to yourself, can you?" Y/n said.
"A lot has happened yesterday, Max just happened to be the person I was talking to at the moment and it just slipped out." Jade explained guilty and y/n just sighed with her elbow resting on the dining table, face palming. Now she had to deal with the boss lady.
"So, you're telling me that in a single span of one night you became a mother?" Grace said, giving the h/c haired girl a look. She went to say something but Max beat her to it.
"Yeah, a native child. It's a girl, right?" Max asked and Grace stared at y/n with a raised eyebrow. Y/n looked at her fellow Omaticaya apprentices for help but all Jade did was take a sip of her coffee and Jake was nowhere to be found. Of course the moment his big sister needs help, he's gone. What ever happened to siblings always having each other's back?
"You have a native child? How the hell do you have a--." Grace was cut off by a loud crash in the kitchen and y/n used it as an opportunity to ditch.
"Oh, would you look at the time! As much as I would love to stay and chat, I got some linking to do. Let's go Jade." She quickly chugged down her orange juice before running out of the mess hall with Jade right behind her.
"We are not done talking about this!" Grace yelled after them.
"Goodbye, Mom! Love you!" Was y/n's witty reply, making the ginger woman roll her eyes before she too got up and followed after the two girls, all oblivious to the confused Max Patel and jealous Norm Spellman they left behind.

Reader's P.O.V
"Okay, let's run through them again." Grace said as we all entered the link room. She was walking along side Jake while showing him pictures of Omaticaya Clan members on a digital clipboard, going over their names.
First shown was the Tsahik.
"Mo'at. Dragon lady." Jake answered.
Next was the Clan Leader.
"Eytucan." Jake mispronounced as he rolled to his link capsule.
"Eytukan." Grace corrected. "He's the clan leader. But she's the spiritual leader. Like a shaman."
"Got it." Jake said and the next picture was shown.
"T'su'tey." He mispronounced again.
"Tsu'tey." I corrected this time. "He'll be the next clan leader."
Unbeknownst to me, a dreamy smirk appeared on my face as I thought about that ill-tempered, egotistical asshole. There was already a fire within my soul but he was the gasoline and made it a raging flame. Whoo, did he get my blood pumping!~
Jade punching my shoulder brought me out of my thoughts. I looked over to see her leaning towards me with a smirk on her face while suggestively wiggling her eyebrows. I pushed her face away from me and rolled my eyes in denial, making her giggle and my cheeks heat up.
What the fuck am I embarrassed for? I got a bet to win, I don't like him.
Grace swiped on the clipboard, revealing the next picture.
"Dakcareye." Jake once again mispronounced as he got himself situated on his capsule.
"Dakarai." Jade corrected and now it was my turn to lean towards her with a smirk and wiggling eyebrows. She, herself, only shrugged in response but I could still see that pink dusting her cheeks.
"He's Tsu'tey's right hand man. If anything were to happen to him, he'd take his place." Grace swiped again.
"Neytiri." Jake took the clipboard in his hands, staring at the picture of the Omaticaya princess.
"Of course you say her name correctly." Jade joked, earning snickers from me and a mocking look from Jake.
"She'll be the next Tsahik. She and Tsu'tey will become a mated pair." Grace said and for some reason that didn't sit right with me. Why didn't it sit right with me? I don't know. I already knew those two were promised to each other and yet I feel a stabbing at my heart.
It didn't bother me before, so why now?
"So who's this Eywa?" Jake asked.
"Who's Eywa?" Norm replied in disbelief. Everybody looked over at the male, especially me with a raised eyebrow at that sudden attitude. What the hell was his problem?
"Only their deity. Their goddess, made up of all living things. Everything they know!" Norm exclaimed like it was obvious.
"You'd know this if you had any training whatsoever."
"Man, what the hell is wrong with you?" Jade said, looking at Norm with furrowed eyebrows.
"Nothing." He scoffed.
"Well, check the attitude before I check you." I threatened with a glare. I don't know who the fuck he thinks he is, but nobody talks to my little brother that way.
"And who's got a date with the chief's daughter?" Jake smugly threw in his two cents but then yelped in pain after I punched him in the arm. He was not helping.
"All right, knock it off all of you. Let's go village life starts early." Grace said and handed Norm the clipboard while the rest of us dispatched for our capsules. I laid down in mine and waited until Grace came over, punched a code into the panel on the lid before looking down at me.
"Don't let him do anything unusually stupid... And keep an eye on Jade while you're at it." She said and I snorted.
"No promises."
She gave an amused eyeroll before closing the lid and I was out.
~Time Skip~
Walking around the village without worry of being shanked was rather nice, I'm not gonna lie. It was sunny and bright and full of life. Something the earth hasn't been in over a century.
It was the early morning, so the Omaticaya Clan spent it doing daily chores and keeping the children occupied until dinner, which I'm really good at... Well, Jade was really good at. We were both in the child's place of the village and she was wrestling and playing games with the native children no older than 8 while the younger ones stayed around Shanti and Ebele (Eh-Beh-Le). Jake was off exploring the village and these two lovely native ladies were some of the ones that gave Jade and I our makeovers and were in charge of this neck of Hometree.
Normally, when it came to the little ones I'd join in on the fun but as of right now, I was busy with my own little one. I was sitting on the ground with my back against an elevated root that led higher into Hometree and my baby laying on my propped up leg, enjoying her breakfast.
'What's her name?' A little native girl asked, kneeling in front of me.
"Yeah. What are you gonna name her-- Oof!" Jade agreed before one of the children she was wrestling with tackled her to the ground with the other's dogpiling on top of them laughing.
My baby cooed and gurgled as I pulled away the makeshift bottle and looked down at her, taking her tiny hands into mine. She gripped my thumbs and formula dribbled down her chin as she stared up at me with childish curiosity.
What was I going to name her?
I mentally ran through a number of names before a smile stretched onto my face as I thought of the perfect one. I picked up my baby and gently held her out in front of me.
"I'll call you... Vitani."
Vitani continued to stare at me before shoveling her hand into her mouth, making me snort and the little native girl giggle. I readjusted the one month old so that she was now laying in my arms. I wiped her face of the formula and proceeded to burp her before a shadow loomed over me. Raising an eyebrow, I looked up only to come face to glare with the grumpy old troll himself and Dakarai standing beside him.
Would it kill this guy to smile?
Tsu'tey's glare went from me to the native girl and she scampered off towards her teachers, who were getting ready to start their lesson. I reluctantly handed over my baby to Ebele but I can't train while also worrying about my precious bean. I turned back towards Tsu'tey to see him already walking away, leaving Dakarai to retrieve Jade. He didn't stop moving as he spoke loud enough for me to hear...
"Come."
Asshole.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Tsu'tey led me to an opening that was maybe a few miles off from Hometree with a gorgeous view and direhorses, or pa'li in Na'vi, drinking nectar from the direhorse pitcher plants lying around. I smiled while watching the herd and as one, that I'm assuming is Tsu'tey's, came trotting up to us.
Tsu'tey greeted the horse-like creature with a gentle hand on the muzzle and soothing words in his language before turning towards me.
"This is pa'li. You will ride today." He said and I nodded while gently stroking the horse-like creature's antennas and giggling when it nuzzled it's muzzle into my hair.
I went to mount but was stopped by Tsu'tey with a sudden palm heel to the forehead. It wasn't enough to truly hurt but it sure as hell wasn't gentle either.
"Ralu is mine. You will be riding..." Tsu'tey's eyes scanned over the herd before they stopped and a devious smirk slowly stretched onto his face. He pointed.
"That one."
I looked to where he was pointing to see a direhorse that isolated itself from the rest of the herd. It wasn't like one I've ever seen with it's vibrant pink and light blue color with striking black markings, but was a sight to see nonetheless.
"Okay... And why that one specifically?"
The smirk on Tsu'tey's face grew.
"Riding pa'li is the simplest of your training. Would only prove your inferiority as a dreamwalker if you can't. Even the babies could do this."
"Okay, one, that's just rude. Two, the only reason you want me to ride that one is just to see me get bucked off or worse, killed. And three, if that is what you're going for, be a man and have the balls to do it yourself." My face was inches away from his, glaring up at him as he did the same to me. We stood chest to chest, daring one another to make the first move. It wasn't long before the familiar feeling of something sharp pressed against my neck presented itself.
"You doubt that I will, Woman?" Tsu'tey had his handmade blade in position for a quick and easy slice against my jugular. I knew damn well he wasn't afraid to kill, especially his enemies. But if there's one remotely triplet thing that I share with my brother, it's that we both gamble with danger and haven't learn to stop.
"Then do it." I challenged.
I threw my dice and now it was all up to the roll. Our eyes continued to glare at each other, trying to get the other to submit, and to my surprise, Tsu'tey caved first. I stared at him in confusion as to why he back down so easily. And judging by the look on his face, he didn't know either.
He pulled his knife away and sheathed it, staring back at me with conflicted eyes.
"Hurry. Time is wasting." He said before turning away.
Deciding it was best not to press on about it, I nod and made my way towards the herd. All direhorse eyes were almost immediately on me, excluding the one I was after as I got closer. Some strode up to me with confidence, leaning their muzzles into my hands as I walked by while other's went back to doing direhorse things with their direhorse friends.
It wasn't until I was a few meters away did the vibrant pink and blue direhorse acknowledge my presence.
It was a standoff of us just staring at each other before I dared to take the first step. Their head slowly lifted from the pitcher plants they were drinking from and watched my every move. I slowly held my hand out and watched as they cautiously sniffed it before blowing air on my face, making me huff as the braids framing my face were now in my eyes. Tucking them behind my ears, I carefully made my way to the direhorse's side, gently running my hands down their body to keep them calm.
Looking at Tsu'tey, I saw that he got closer but kept his distance with that arrogant smirk back on his face, looking at me expectantly.
I didn't know if I wanted to punch or kiss this bastard. But either way he was gonna get it. I'll even kiss my knuckles beforehand if it's the first one.
Letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding, I mounted the unique direhorse and felt instant relief when they didn't buck me off. I smirked triumphantly at Tsu'tey, seeing his arrogance turn into shock.
Yeah! Who's inferior now, Jackass?
The male stepped forward, flinching when the direhorse huffed at him, making me stifle a giggle. He glared at me before grabbing their antennae.
"Mend the bond." He ordered.
I grabbed the antennae from him and reached back for my queue. My snow white hairs at the end split to reveal the pink neural tendrils before I connected them with the direhorse's. A jolt of electricity coursed through my body as they whinnied in a panic. I was quick to calm them down, ceasing their slightly frantic movements, but I was in awe at the feeling of tsaheylu.
I know I have a thing with animals but this is a whole 'nother level.
We were one.
"Tsaheylu, the bond, brings rider and pa'li together. Feel her. Feel her heartbeat. Her breath. Feel her strong legs." Tsu'tey instructed.
"He." I said, making the warrior look up at me.
"This pa'li is a he. His name is Kun'ta."
Tsu'tey looked at me doubtfully before taking the audacity to check. My face read 'Well?' as he came back up and cleared his throat.
"You may tell him what to do. Until you mind is clear, say it out--."
"Yeah, ain't no one got time for that." I clicked my tongue and bolted off.
Third Person's P.O.V
Tsu'tey watched in shock as y/n effortlessly ran Kun'ta through the field. The stallion whom he always thought was a mare was ungodly stubborn and wouldn't let anyone mount him. He thought he could amuse himself by making a fool of the female dreamwalker but that blew up in his face.
Her riding technique was flawless. Her body moved with Kun'ta's and even got the rest of the herd to run with them. Tsu'tey couldn't deny it no matter how much he wanted to. The sky woman impressed him. He watched in amazement before taking notice in the small audience gathered behind him.
It was mostly the group of his and Dakarai's younger male students, but two of them consisted of Jade and Dakarai, all mounted on direhorses.
"Go, y/n!!" Jade hollered as the snow white haired circled around.
'The sky woman is impressive!' A male exclaimed watching her go.
'Yes, very. Look at her go!' Another shouted.
'She even manage to bond with the stubborn one.' Dakarai said, pulling his direhorse up next to Tsu'tey looking amused. The said male glared at his friend before calling over and mounting Ralu as y/n trotted up to them. She shared a high-five with Jade and greeted Dakarai and the younger males, who did the same back to her but the younger males were shameless with their wondering eyes.
For our two girls here, trotting made things bounce, let's just say that.
"You may ride well for a sky person and speak our tongue, Woman. But you still have much to learn. Now come." Tsu'tey ordered before he and Dakarai galloped off deeper into the jungle with Jade and y/n following suit.
