Part 36

Arnav came to his room picking Khushi on his shoulder. He closed the door behind and put her down. Arnav started moving towards her.

Khushi(while moving backward): Arnavji.. I think this is not right...

Arnav(smirking): Everything is right in love and war.

Khushi: but Arnavji...

He reached her in two long steps and cornered her on the door. Khushi shocked at his fast action. He tucked her hair behind her ear coming so close to her.

Khushi: Arnavji it's not good that what you are trying to do.

Arnav: But you already have done more than these with me remember?

Khushi got goosebump "remembering" that day.

Arnav: Why are you silent?

Khushi: It's needed that day.

Arnav(raising his eyebrows): Ohh why?

Khushi(sulking): What do you mean by why? How could I leave my husband like that?

Arnav: So?

Khushi: I did that....

Arnav(huskily): Won't you tell me that what did you do that day to save my life?

Khushi closed her face with palms and nodded no.

Arnav: Didn't you say you will do anything for me? I'm not asking to show. Just asking you to say....

Khushi pushed him and about to rush from there. She stopped hearing ...

Arnav: I feel so tired Khushi. Give me something to eat.

Khushi stopped and came back to him. She cupped his face.

Khushi: Arnavji, are you ok? (she touched his forehead.) Wait I will bring your lunch then you will feel better.

She ran out of the room leaving amazed Arnav. Just a few minutes ago she wanted to run away from him. But when she got to know about his "hunger" she forgot his earlier action and she herself came close to him. Arnav smiled. He went to the closet and removed his casuals. He got changed into it. Within few minutes Khushi returned back with his plate. She made him sit on the recliner.

Arnav: I have no mood to eat Khushi.

Khushi: What? (Gritting her teeth) Look at yourself. How weak you are. Do you think I will leave you? (She took a morsel and forwarded it to his mouth.) Now open your mouth.

Arnav smiled inwardly and opened his mouth. He relished her action more than food. Khushi finished feeding.

Khushi: Now take rest.

Arnav: No.

Khushi: Why?

Arnav: If you want me to take rest then make me sleep.

Khushi: What? Arnavji don't behave like a child.

Arnav: Then I won't sleep and will roam behind you.

Khushi(sighed): What you want me to do?

Arnav: Sleep with me.

Khushi(shockingly): Noooo.

Arnav: I said "Just" sleep with me. Won't you trust me?

Khushi looked at him hesitatingly.

Arnav: Come.

He extended his hand towards her asking to hold. Khushi lifted her hand slowly and gave it to him. Arnav entwined his fingers with hers and kissed her knuckle giving her goosebumps. He took her to bed and made her sit. He sat keeling down in front of her making Khushi confused. He kept her feet on his thigh and made her wear the ANKLET. He admired it for a while and lifted his head.

Arnav: It's so beautiful.

He lay on the bed and pulled her on his chest.

Arnav: Do you know how soft you are? (he asked while caressing her cheek) Let's sleep.

Khushi looked at him surprisingly.

Arnav: I don't want to make you embarrass. I know you. He smiled.

Khushi (overwhelmed): Thank you Arnavji.

Arnav: Let's sleep before my mind changes. (He teased and paused) It all seems like a dream. I can't believe you are in my arms.

Khushi lifted her head and smiled at him.

Khushi: I cannot believe you're the one I was looking for

Arnav: I agree, everything is happening with the reason.

They smiled. "Sleep" cuddled them in its arms. Arnav slept peacefully with the peace of being in his wife's arms.

Later

A knock on the door disturbed Khushi's sleep. Khushi saw Arnav sleeping peacefully. She went to open the door. She was surprised seeing Aman standing there panting. He was sweating badly. Seems like, he should have come running. Aman face lit in a swift seeing Khushi.

Aman (excitedly): Khushi do you know to whom you are engaged with?

Khushi nodded YES blushingly. Aman looked at her confusingly, why she was blushing? That's when he sensed Khushi was in Arnav's room. That too looking messed. He peeped inside by heightening his toes. Arnav was sleeping on the bed. His eyes became widened. He looked at Khushi with disbelief. Khushi was supposed to run; he caught hold of her hand and dragged her inside with him. He made her sit on the bed. He took her hand and made her caress Arnav's cheek. Arnav smiled in his sleep feeling his favorite softness. He clutched her hand and got confused by its hardness. He opened his eyes in shock and saw Aman was sitting beside him smiling at him mockingly.

Arnav rolled his eyes and tried to get up but Aman pressed him to his previous position which brought out "what the" from Arnav. Khushi rushed out of the room using the chance.

Aman: DONE?

He asked raising his eyebrows up and down while smiling teasingly. A cute blush appeared in Arnav's face. He nodded no.

Aman(putting his hand on his own head): Ohh my god. How much rude my ASR was? This one girl made him even blush?

Arnav(punching on his chest): That girl is none other than my WIFE damn it. (he sat on the bed)

Aman(sighed): Yah. I just came here to convey the message that Khushi was engaged to you only. But you are too fast ASR.

Arnav: Or else what? If I wait until you find it out then I will become old.

Aman: Looks like soon you will become FATHER? (he teased)

Arnav: Nothing like that. I don't want to embarrass her.

Aman (unbelievably): I can't believe that you can be good to this extend ASR...

Arnav( chuckled): Thank you, buddy, for being with me in all my odd times. He hugged him.

Aman(hugging him back): Lessen your emotion yaar. Or else I will cry. (he said smilingly)

Arnav(chuckled): you know I'm damn happy now.

Aman: Who else other than me knows that? I'm also damn happy. Finally, my way is cleared. I will ask Bhabi to look for a girl for me.

Arnav: Oh stop being dependent. Choose someone on your own. Love someone and get married to her. It will be good to feel.

Aman looked at him awed.

Aman: ASR and wants me to LOVE? Is the world going to end or what?

Arnav: Love can do anything and change anyone.

Aman: I'm getting dizzy ASR.

Arnav: Don't act like you know nothing.

Aman(making face): I have shown unwanted urgency in getting you married to Khushi. Seems like, it would have happened automatically.

They heard Khushi asking "is that your plan?" Our epic friends were shocked to the core.

They could see disbelief in Khushi's face who was standing with coffee pot. She came to them taking small steps.

Khushi: Is that all your plan? She asked shockingly.

Arnav: Khushi please, he did that for me and..

She showed her palm towards him to stop making Arnav gulp.

Khushi(worriedly): I don't know why is my life always confused? I can't understand, should I punish you or thank you for the marriage.

Arnav(pleadingly): Khushi if there is an option, better you choose the one which will make everyone happy. Please....

Aman: You don't need to thank me Khushi. It's my pleasure making my friend happy.

Khushi: I can't leave you without punishment. (Aman nodded yes) Be with him forever (pause) like this.

Aman(surprised): Are... you.... sure Khushi?

Khushi: How can I do anything which makes Arnavji sad? Now take your coffee. She said pouting.

Aman(holding her hands): This is what I wanted, a person who cares about ASR's happiness.

Aman and Arnav hugged happily Khushi smiled seeing them. Arnav gently pulled her into the hug and kissed her hair lovingly.

Arnav: Thank you Khushi. Thank you so much.

Khushi broke the hug and handed over their cups and sat on the bed taking her coffee. Arnav liked this family atmosphere. He and his most important persons.... He smiled at Aman who was also in the same feel.

Arnav: Is it true, Buaji is searching for the groom?

Aman: Yes. Very sincerely.

Arnav: Do you know that? He asked looking at Khushi.Khushi(nodding yes): She is not fine with my decision of waiting for Chotte.

Aman(chuckled): She is right.

Arnav punched him playfully.

Aman: See... the guy who was irritated till yesterday about your decision is fine with it now.

Khushi(chuckled): will you do anything for Arnavji? She asked sipping her coffee.

Aman(teasingly): Until now I did everything. But the very first time I'm going to disobey his order. (Arnav cocked his eyebrows getting amazed.) Do you know why Khushi? (She nodded no) He wanted me to kill your ex-fiancé. Do you think I will do that?

Arnav and Aman laughed seeing her expression.

Khushi: You guys are too much. She said pouting.

Aman: You have no idea how furious he was when he came to know about your engagement. That's what made me plan your marriage hurriedly. Thank you Bhabi coming into ASR's life.

Khushi: It's all Gods' grace and Ratna aunt's blessings. It seems she wished to have me as her Bahu wholeheartedly. That's why some force pulled us towards each other. (she said emotionally making doe emotional)

Aman (smiling at Arnav who was emotional): I agree. Or else this Kadoos would have stayed bachelor and would have done the same for me. (pause) I never thought that one day ASR will fall in love. you made it possible. You have no idea how much he craved for your love. Though his mother wanted you for him but you also deserve it. You are made for each other. Stay happy.

He went leaving our LOVE BIRDS all emotional.

Khushi(touching his check): Are you ok?

Arnav: No.

Khushi: let me do some magic on you. She smiled.

Arnav: Really?

Khushi nodded yes and he dragged her close to him. She caressed his forehead lovingly and kissed.

Khushi: Now?(Arnav nodded no. She kissed his cheek.) Now? (he again nodded no) Then be it.

She giggled and supposed to get off the bed. He circled her waist restricting her from running.
