Palla jo hai tera, mohalla hai woh mera... main tere ghar di ho gayi

Title is the song 'Jug jug jeeve' from movie 'Shiddat'

Vishakha rushed towards Naina as she came down the stairs with Sameer, "Naina, aaj uthne mein bada late ho gaya. Theek ho na tum?"

A faint blush appeared on Naina's cheeks, "Theek hun, mummy. Aise hi late ho gaye."

Vishakha let out a relieved breath, "Maine Deepu ko bola bhi tha jaake dekh aaye ek baar lekin woh subah se Ayush ke saath badminton khelne mein busy thi. Abhi dono gaye hain apne apne room mein, fresh hone."

Sameer looped an arm around his mom's shoulder, "Mummy, aap Naina ki fiqr chod do. Main hun na."

Vishakha patted his cheek, smiling, "Jaanti hun. Isliye main khud nahi aayi. Agar tu office gaya hota toh main itni der tak wait thodi karti. Tu Naina ke paas tha isliye darr nahi bas thodi chinta thi. Warna tujhse better iska khyal kaun rakh sakta hai."

A warmth spread through Naina. The love she got from Sameer was precious but the affection and acceptance she received from his family was phenomenal too. They loved her as their own, in true sense. She let out a silent prayer for making her a part of this family. She felt secure, protected... and cherished. She felt at home... this was her home.

Vishakha was about to tell Ramdhari to call the children when they saw Ayush hopping down the steps, chirpy as always, "Good morning mumma papa."

He had taken bath, and had wiped his hair well. Sameer flicked his brows in approval. Ayush hunched his shoulders, smiling.

Taking his hand, Naina led him to the chairs, making him sit along her, "Tu toh roz late uthta hai phir aaj itni jaldi kaise utha? Badminton bhi khel liya aur ready bhi ho gaya breakfast se pehle."

He shifted sideways to face her, "Mujhe na holidays homework mein ten lines likhni hai, aise game pe jo maine apne brother ya sister ke saath khela holidays mein." He peered at the pram across the table, "Arhaan ko abhi koi games aate hi nahi."

Deepika joined them, "Isliye maine Ayush ko bola thodi der ke liye maan le main uski sister hun."

Ayush immediately raised his index finger, "Bas only game ke liye Deepu bua. Okay? Meri sister ko toh mumma hospital se leke ayengi."

Preeti knew his and Sameer's obsession about a baby girl, still decided to tease him, "Aur agar mumma Arhaan ke jaisa brother le aayi toh?"

Ayush gave her a look as if she did not know anything, "Offo Preeti maasi, two two babies layengi na. Ek brother hoga toh ek sister laani padegi."

Naina's eyes shot up to Sameer. He shrugged, and winked.

She let out a weary exhale, "Ayush, hum wohi leke aate hain jo doctor humein dete hain. Jab Arhaan aane wala tha tab tune kaha tha na brother ho ya sister tu uske saath khelega."

"Haan toh brother aa gaya na. Ab sister ki turn hai." He said matter of factly before munching a spoonful from his bowl of chocos, then looked up brightly, clicking his fingers, "Idea. Aap mujhe hospital leke chalo. Main doctor ko samjha dunga ki mere paas brother hai, mujhe sister hi dein."

At the other side of table, nanu waved his head, "Haan bhai, yeh idea achaa hai. Ab doctor itne chote bachhe ko manaa thodi kar sakte hain."

"Bade daduuu." Ayush drawled, "Main chota nahi big hun."

Nanu bit his tongue, "Arre sorry yaar, main bhool gaya tha. Mujhe laga tu abhi bhi ghar ka sabse chota baby hai."

"Main baby nahi hun." Ayush whined.

Naina smiled widely, "Of course tu baby nahi hai." Her gaze flickered to Sameer, "Baby toh koi aur hai."

He frowned. She bit the inside of her cheek, holding back a snicker. Seeing him all worked up at the mention of that incident was priceless.

Preeti's voice broke their eye contact. She cooed to the little one in pram, "Baby toh yeh mera chota sa babu hai."

And the laughter Naina was trying so hard to control spurted out. Nanu, Vishakha, Preeti and Deepika looked at her in confusion, Ayush grinned ear to ear... happy to see his mom laughing and also to be spared of the baby tag. The only other person in the room kept his face lowered, hiding his blushing cheeks in embarrassment. At this moment, he wished he hadn't told her about the incident.

Her contagious laughter brought a smile on everyone's faces after the initial perplexity... except, of course, one.

Vishakha raised her brows, "Aisa kya hua Naina jo itna amusing hai."

Preeti had seen the exchange between the two, and was quick to comprehend that it was something private between them. Sameer's flushed face was evidence enough that he was the target, for a change. She turned to Vishakha, "Mummy, mujhe lagta hai Naina ke pregnancy hormones ka effect hai. Aapko pata hi hai, kabhi bina baat ke rona, kabhi baat na hone pe bhi paglon ki tarah hanste rehna... main bhi toh yehi karti thi."

Thankfully for Sameer, the topic wasn't given any more attention as Ramdhari served poha and fruits to everyone.

After breakfast, Preeti informed Vishakha that she would be going to the mall for some shopping for Arhaan, "Rohan ne kaha tha saath chalega isliye main week ke beech mein nahi gayi par aaj hi usse papa ke saath factory jaana pada. Ab main aur wait nahi kar sakti."

Vishakha was worried, "Tum akele kaise manage karogi Arhaan ke saath? Main chalti lekin aaj Mrs Raheja ke bete ki engagement hai."

Naina was quick to offer, "Mummy, main aur Sameer chale jaate hain. Ayush aur Deepu bhi saath chal padenge."

Preeti grinned, "Perfect. Mujhe apni bhi kuch shopping karni hai. Tu saath hogi toh better hoga."

Deepika gave a high five to Ayush, "Ab main tujhe doughnuts bhi khila dungi jo subah promise kiye the." She looked back at nanu, "Nanu aap bhi chalo na."

Nanu shook his head wearily, "Nahi bhai. Kal Mittal ke ghar doston ke saath kuch zyada hi khana pina ho gaya. Aaj main bas aaram karunga." He called out, "Ramdhari, mere liye lunch mein sirf soup banana."

It was decided that an hour later, all the younger people would leave for the mall. Naina was surprised Sameer didn't say anything about the program. In fact, he did not speak at all during or after breakfast. While Ayush and Deepika raced to their rooms to get ready, he too went up, without waiting for Naina who was talking to Preeti.

When she reached their room, he was sitting on the bed, looking into his phone.

"Sameer, tum itne chupp kyon ho? Office ki koi tension hai kya?" She asked lightly, going to her side of the bed and picking her phone where it was put on charge.

He gave her a sideways glance, frowning at her nonchalance. He had expected that she would be aware he was vexed at being teased in front of everyone... and would indulge him, trying to apologise. But she appeared to be ignorant of his annoyance.

Keeping a straight face, Naina put away the phone, and sat heavily on the bed, letting out a groan, "Ufff."

Forgetting his pretense, he dragged to her, "Kya hua? Dard ho raha hai kya?"

She fluttered her lashes, "Mera baby toh rootha hua tha."

It took him a few seconds to realise that she was still teasing. Before he could react, she planted a kiss on his one cheek, then other, and pursed her lips, "Sorry!"

He looked away. She would have to work harder.

And she did, raining kisses alternatively on his cheeks, mumbling sorry between each one. Since he was on his knees, he lost balance and fell back on the bed. When he was about to smile, she laid next to him, propping on her elbow, "Baby maan gaya ya aur manaun?"

Scowling, he scampered off the bed, going to stand at the door of terrace. She smiled to herself... he was such a kid.

"Sameer." Her voice from behind him made him square his shoulders more.

Next moment, he felt her palms on his back, and her head on his spine. He closed his eyes as she leaned into him.

"I'm sorry agar tumhe bura laga." She said in a soft voice, and his heart melted instantly... till her next sentence, "Lekin main kya karun, mera baby hai hi itna cute."

"Nainaaa." He groaned, "Ek hi baat ke liye kitni baar tease karogi."

She stepped in front of him, her eyes twinkling. His cheeks were still puffed up, giving him a petulant little boy look.

She pulled his cheeks, "Agar beta hua toh bilkul aisa dikhega jaise tum abhi lag rahe ho."

A wave of delectation awashed him at the thought of having a little version of himself. How much he would love to see such a baby in Naina's arms... yet, he would be more delighted to hold a tiny version of Naina in his own arms.

Seeing the dreamy look in his eyes, she raised her brows hopefully, holding her ears, "Sorry?"

With great difficulty, he kept the smile from splitting, "Sochunga."

She placed a hand on her belly, "Dekha babies, aapke papa kitna gussa karte hain. Aap dono aisa gussa mat karna."

Clearing his throat to get her attention, he crossed his arms, "I am going to be a dad. Mujhe allowed hai."

"Allowed?" She stared at him strangely, "Tum kya strict wale dad banoge?"

He let out an exasperated sigh, "Baad mein nahi abhi allowed hai, pregnancy mein."

She blinked at him a few times, before bursting into an amused giggle, "Tum pregnant ho?"

"Of course." He said with utmost conviction, "We are pregnant."

"Awww." She was all heart eyes.

"Okay, tumpe asar zyada hai par pregnancy ke hormones hone wale dad ko bhi toh effect karte hain. Isliye thode tantrums mujhe bhi allowed hain." He explained sincerely.

She looked at him in acute adoration, then slipped her arms to his back, hugging him tight, "I love you, hone wale dad."

His lips curved broadly as one of his arm wrapped around her shoulder while other snaked around her waist, "Love you too, hone wali mumma."

When she moved back, he pouted, "Phir se kabhi woh baby wali baat pe tease mat karna."

She placed a hand on his cheek, "Sameer, sach kahun toh mujhe bohot achha lagta hai uss incident ke baare mein soch ke. Woh hamari doosri ya teesri mulakat thi aur tum tab bhi itne jealous ho gaye. Yeh tumhara pyar hi toh tha jiski wajah se tumhe itna gussa aaya ki sabko jhaad diya."

He pursed his lips, "Yeh un dinon ki baat hai jab pehla pehla pyar hua tha mujhe. Koi experience toh tha nahi par... maine idhar udhar couples ko suna tha ek doosre ko aise bulate hue. Tumhare muh se baby suna toh... kuch aur khyal aaya hi nahi. Phir tumne Ayush ka naam liya." He scrunched his nose, "Mujhe laga mera chance khatam... tumhari life mein already koi ladka hai."

She smiled lovingly, "Tumhare issi pyar pe pyar aata hai mujhe. Jab main uss baat ko yaad karti hun, toh tumhe tang karne ke liye nahi, balki khud pe proud feel karne ke liye ki tum tab bhi mujhse itna zyada pyar karte the. Na mujhe jaante the, na uss din se pehle hamari kabhi informal baat hui thi, lekin ek naam sunte hi jaise tumhara dil toot gaya tha."

"Toot hi gaya tha." He sighed, "Aisa laga meri love story ka tragic end ho gaya... shuru hone se pehle hi."

She raised herself on her toes, taking his face in her palms, and pecked his lips, "End nahi, woh shuruat thi. Sameer aur Naina ki love story ka kabhi end ho hi nahi sakta. Dekho na, uss din mere paas tumhare saath do minute bhi bitaane ka time nahi tha, aur ab... ab main zindagi bhar tumhare saath rehna chahti hun. Yeh ghar, yeh family jo sirf tumhare the, ab hamare hain... hum dono ke. Hamari love story toh life long chalne wali hai Sameer."

Elated, he tried to aim for her lips, but she dodged, "Umm, isse aage baad mein continue karenge. Abhi shopping jaana hai na. Sabke saath."

"Fiiine." He threw his hands in air, "Ek cheez ab tak nahi badli... pyar se zyada pyar ke dushman hain meri kismat mein."

"Dramebaaz." She chuckled, waving her head as she walked away to get dressed.

Sorry for a shorter chapter. Had been busy last two days. Also, have to rush out now as well. But no worries anymore 😊 we have plenty of slots to fill in as many chapters as Samaina want me to write 😉

Next update on Friday
