glass orbs hang from the ceiling.
their method of usage is peculiar; whenever the Academy is in need of light, someone will find a Fire Elemental. the glass orbs are bewitched to hold oxygen, and the Elemental only has to set a small ball of flame into the orb for it to become a light.

large windows are located high, high up.
the corridors have an impossibly high ceiling. windows are visible on the either side near the top, and are usually open during the day to allow light to flood in. 

eventually, the wide main corridor branches out into much smaller ones, leading to the classrooms, dorms, and various other parts.
