Starting Fresh
Hecate.
Two days since we arrived in San Francisco and Loki had, all of a sudden, become quite distant.
I decided to confront him about it whilst he was reading a book on Norse mythology, seemingly laughing at it.
"Loki?" I asked gently, circling round the corner of the sofa.
He looked up from his book, briefly.
"Yes?" He replied, looking back at it.
"Can we talk?" I sat down on the sofa next to him and put my hands in my lap.
Loki sighed, frustrated, and placed his book on the coffee table in front of us.
"I want to know why you've become so distant lately." I said, getting straight to the point.
Loki seemed angered by my statement and shuffled in his seat.
"I haven't." He replied.
"Yes you have Loki... For the past two days. What is it?"
Loki.
How could I tell her I was starting to grow feelings for her and I was angry at myself for doing so because all I wanted from her was her power so I could take over both Asgard and Midgard?
I couldn't.
So I had to do what I did best and lie.
"I've just had a lot on my mind since Fury showed up." I sighed. "What if he tries to ruin our friendship?"
Hecate looked at me sadly. Then she grabbed my hand and squeezed it lightly.
"He won't. I promise." She smiled, gently.
I smiled back, not exactly knowing how to respond.
"Let's just do what we said and start fresh." She continued.
I nodded.
"I'll take you out to dinner tonight. My treat." To soffen you up and get you to trust me... I thought.
Hecate looked shocked at me, but smiled again.
"That sounds perfect. I'll go and get ready." She replied.
I nodded and squeezed her hand before she got up and went to the bedroom.
I missed her touch so much... But I couldn't. I denied myself the right to love a long time ago.
