Adrian

The second I heard about what happened to Mia, I sprinted to the infirmary faster than I've ever ran in my life. Once I arrived, I saw Aphrodite and Idril standing around the medical bed Mia was laying on.

Aphrodite was the also one of the many school nurses, since she knew everything about the human body. Idril also helped out since she had healing abilities.

I rushed over to Mia's side. She was still out cold and she had dust and dirt all over her clothes. She had bruises and cuts all over her face too. I didn't even realize I started crying. Idril wrapped her arms around me.

Idril: "A-Adrian, she'll be okay. She just needs some time to recover"

Adrian: "W-Who did this to her?"

Idril: "We don't know, but the Headmasters are having a war meeting"

Adrian: "W-War meeting?"

Aphrodite: "The one's who attacked us are from what we believe to be a surviving Demigod school"

Adrian: "I thought they were all wiped out"

Idril: "So did we, but the two who attacked us are definitely Demigods"

I was so angry at that moment, I wanted them to pay for what they did to Mia. Without realizing it, my body started to become covered in frost. Idril had to let go of me.

Idril: "Ahhh!!"

I looked over at her and saw her hand had frost on it.

Adrian: "I-Idril!! I-I'm sorry!! H-Hold still"

I placed my hand over hers and the frost faded away.

Idril: "I-It's okay, I know the ice is hard to control"

I dug into my pockets and pulled out a pair of thick gloves. I then put them over my hands.

Idril rubbed my back.

Idril: "Your mother and father want to see you. They're in the Greek wing. They've been wanting to talk to you for a while"

Adrian: "O-Okay, are you sure your hands are okay?"

Idril: "They're fine, I promise"

She gave me the sweetest smile.

Idril: "I'll take care of Mia, she should be on her feet later today"

Adrian: "Thank you, Idril, so much"

I walked out of the infirmary, looking back at the doorway to see Mia's unconscious body. I couldn't hold my tears back anymore, so I just ran out of the building. I hated crying, because when I did, the tears that came out of my eyes started freezing into shards of ice.

After calming myself down, I found myself in the Greek wing. I walked behind the massive pantheon that made up the main building and walked into the apartment area of the Greek wing. I walked a few rooms down until I found their apartment. I unlocked the door and went inside.

I saw Mom and Dad sitting together on the couch. They were watching some anime movie, however when they saw me, they paused it.

Mom got up and wrapped her arms around me.

Frostine: "I heard about what happened to Mia. You weren't hurt, were you?"

Adrian: "I wish I was... instead of her..."

Kaito: "Mia's strong, she'll pull through"

Adrian: "I hope..."

They brought me over to the couch and had me sit between them. However Mom kept her arms around me.

Frostine: "There's... something we have to tell you"

Adrian: "What?"

Frostine: "The Headmasters have been discussing the possible war, and..."

Kaito: "They want to send a team of our elite to try and settle things peacefully. You've been selected as one of them"

Adrian: "W-What?!"

Frostine: "They're sending you, Lucas, Yuna, Terran, and Mia"

My face started to frost up again.

Adrian: "B-But Mia is in no condition for a quest like this!"

Frostine: "We know. And we also know that this will be a very dangerous quest. We're just..."

Kaito: "We're worried about you, Adrian"

Adrian: "W-Why?"

Kaito: "Your emotions are the only things keeping your cryokenesis in check. But with the mindset you're in now, we're worried you may do something"

Adrian: "I-I told you, I can control it"

Frostine: "Maybe you can use the hydrokenesis you got from your father"

I quickly got up off of the couch.

Adrian: "N-No! I'm never using it!"

Kaito: "Why are you so afraid of using it?"

Adrian: "I... I can't control it..."

Dad got up and put his hand on my shoulder.

Kaito: "I know having these powers is terrifying. I was able to train with your grandfather, Sobek, to master my powers. Your Mother learned from your grandmother"

Dad started laughing while embarrassed.

Kaito: "And your mother and I aren't exactly the best teachers"

Frostine: "But we know you have the potential to be a better Demigod than both me and your father"

Kaito: "And because we can't be there to help you on your quest, I want you to have this"

Dad pulled his ring off of his finger. The top of the ring was in the shape of a crocodile.

Kaito: "This ring has saved me and my friends on many occasions. It was given to me by my father. So, I think it's time I pass it down"

He put it in my hand.

Kaito: "It can open portals once every hour. So if you need it, use it wisely"

They both wrapped their arms around me. I started crying again.

Frostine: "You'll do great, Adrian. You've grown into such a fine young man"

Kaito: "We'll be here for when you get back. We'll go get some ice cream too"

I wiped a tear from my eyes.

Adrian: "I promise I'll make you proud!"

Frostine: "We're already the proudest parents in the world"

Yuna

Can I just say war meetings suck?

I'll spare you the boring bits, but as you probably heard from Adrian, the new Team Demigod is going on another quest!!

However... Lucy wasn't going. She didn't take part in the meeting, however I told her to wait in my house, so at least she wasn't bored. Lucy had no idea about the quest, and I didn't want her to feel bad about it, so I didn't tell her.

I got out of the meeting and immediately started for home. I didn't want to keep Lucy waiting too long, since I promised to watch a movie with her later.

Though sitting next to each other on the couch, shoulders touching...

That would be a little embarrassing...

The second I got home, I heard movement up in my bedroom. I quickly ran up the stairs and skipped down the hallway until I got to my room. I swung the door open.

Yuna: "Lucy!! I'm home!"

One lesson I still haven't learned to this day is to knock before entering a room. I saw Lucy was changing into another set of clothes, and she was completely in her underwear—

Definitely kind of worth it!

Before she could scream and call me Baka, which I'm sure she would've done, I closed the door and just stood outside. I waited for a few seconds until Lucy walked over and opened the door. She had a bit of blush on her face, however she didn't seem that fazed by it. She only had a warm smile on her face.

Lucy: "Knock next time, okay?"

Yuna: "It's technically my room"

Lucy: "Fair enough, but you knew I was in here"

Yuna: "Yeah... can't really explain that"

She grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.

Lucy: "Sorry, I've been going through your room a little and I found—"

I immediately started panicking.

Yuna: "Y-You found my toys?!?! I-I'm not really into BDSM!! I-It was a prank gift!!! D-Don't tell my Moms!! I'll do anything!!!"

Lucy: "W-Woah! W-What are you talking about?! I found an old photo album in one of your drawers. It seemed to belong to your Mothers"

My face burned red.

Yuna: "U-Uh, yeah. That. Of course"

I cleared my throat and laughed nervously. Lucy simply smiled and pulled me over to my bed. We sat down next to each other as she opened the book.

We opened it to the first page and saw a beautiful picture. It was from back when the old team Demigod was our age. When all of our parents were kids like us.

Immediately I saw nothing had changed much. I had met Lucy's, Mia's, and Adrian's parents before. Kaito and Frostine are still just as pure as they were back then. Frostine was on the shy side while Kaito was brave and smart. I see pretty much everything inside of Adrian, maybe not the brave part.

Himari was acting silly while Emiko looked kind of full of herself. However they both were perfect for each other, even back then. I immediately saw Mia in them, full of herself but also a jokester.

Connor and Angel looked like the sweetest couple, and it's not too hard to see how they made their two children, the sweet and brave Lucy and the seriously hot Lucas.

Then there was my Moms...

Lucy: "Why is your one mom groping your other—"

Yuna: "Don't ask, I don't have an answer for you"

In the picture, July was cupping of feel of Siyuka's butt. Siyuka looked like she'd always been as prideful and bratty as she was now, while July looked just as perverted and silly too. I'm a little embarrassed but proud to say they're my parents.

Lucy: "I get how Mia was born, since her mother is a shapeshifter. But how were—"

Yuna: "My one mom has the blood of Aphrodite in her. So, definitely not awkward to think about"

We both started laughing a little. However Lucy then looked at the picture again.

Lucy: "Who's that?"

Yuna: "Who?"

Lucy: "Top right corner"

I looked over where she pointed to and she was right. There was a person who seemed to be walking away from the group. She looked a little nervous and scared, but also kind of sad too.

Lucy: "Do you know who that is?"

Yuna: "No clue, I can't even tell the gender"

Lucy: "Maybe I can ask my Dad later. He'll probably know"

Lucy

We hung out and watched some anime until it was starting to get dark out. We were sitting on the couch together, watching a new anime that had come out. We were about to start the next episode when Yuna's phone started ringing.

Yuna: "Oh, give me a sec"

She got up and answered the phone.

Yuna: "Hello?"

She paused as I heard Adrian's voice on the other end.

Yuna: "Tonight?! But that's so soon!"

I heard his voice again.

Yuna: "Alright... I'll be there in a few minutes"

She hung up and sighed.

Yuna: "Lucy... I have to go. Adrian needs something"

She got walked into the bathroom quick, leaving her phone on the table. I heard a ding go off and curiosity got the best of me. I picked up her phone and saw a new message from Adrian.

Adrian: Don't tell Lucy about the quest, I don't want her to feel left out. I feel bad enough about her staying. We'll meet at the main gate

Yuna came back out and saw me on her phone.

Yuna: "What are you doing? You better not be going through my search history—"

Lucy: "You're going on a quest?"

Her smile faded.

Yuna: "Y-Yeah, we... all are. But... you can't go with..."

Lucy: "Why?! I proved myself on the last quest! Don't the Gods trust me?"

Yuna: "It wasn't the Gods who decided that"

Lucy: "Then who was it?"

Yuna: "Y-Your father"

Rage fueled my body and anger flooded my head. I set the phone on the table and ran out of the house.

Yuna: "Lucy!!"

I ran out into the darkness of night. I kept running until I reached the house Mom and Dad said they were staying in. It was in the Egyptian wing, behind the pyramid. It was a log cabin, like mine, but much larger. I swung the door open and saw Dad sitting on the couch. The second he saw me, he shot up.

Connor: "Lucy?! Is everything okay?!"

Lucy: "Why can't I go with everyone on the quest?"

He sighed.

Connor: "This isn't like the last quest you were on. We're close to going to war with another Demigod school and this quest could mean preventing it. It's also far too dangerous for—"

Lucy: "For a mortal! Huh? Is that it?!"

Connor: "I was going to say for you. And it's not because you're a mortal"

Lucy: "Then why?"

Connor: "You're not ready yet"

Lucy: "I've been training with Aunt Emiko every day, she's said I'm developing faster than she did when she was younger"

Connor: "You are not going"

Lucy: "You'll let Lucas go but you won't let me go?!"

Connor: "Lucas is different"

Lucy: "It's because he's a Demigod!! I know I'm not as powerful as a Demigod!! I just want—"

Dad suddenly yelled.

Connor: "MY FINAL ANSWER IS NO!!!!"

His eyes started glowing a bright yellow. His pupils went sharp like daggers.

Connor: "Yes!! It's because you're a Mortal!! You can't do the stuff a Demigod can do!! Demigods have enhanced everything and will survive things a Mortal won't!!"

The glow in his eyes got brighter.

Connor: "I've been trying to keep an open mind about you training here, but this isn't the life of a Mortal!! I've been trying to keep this life away from you for a reason!! It's because you won't last out there if you had to fight other Demigods. You will die if you go on this quest!!"

Lucy: "D-Dad—!!"

Connor: "I SAID NO!!!!!!!!!"

His yell was enough to make my voice go away. My body was shot with adrenaline and anger coursed through my veins.

Lucy: "Demigod this... Demigod that... is that all you care about?! Just because I'm a Mortal doesn't mean you have to treat me differently!! I'm stronger than you realize!!!"

He walked over to me.

Connor: "Hit me"

Lucy: "W-What?"

Connor: "If you can land a clean hit on me, I'll let you go. Use your dagger if you have to"

Lucy: "W-What if I—"

Connor: "You want to show me you're strong, right? You want to prove me wrong. Do it then"

I drew my dagger hesitantly. I charged at him, however when I thrusted my dagger at him, he caught my wrist and tossed me forward, making me fall with my own momentum. I landed on the ground with a thud.

Connor: "If you can't even land a hit on an unarmed opponent, how the hell do you expect to fight an armed Demigod who has had years of training?"

I desperately grabbed my rope and tied my dagger on one end. I then swung the dagger, making a large arc with the rope it was tied to. He simply grabbed it before it could hit him.

Connor: "Think, Lucy, Think. You can't do anything against me, an unarmed Demigod who's been out of touch for years. You trained just yesterday and you can't do anything. You aren't ready for a quest like this, you're only a Mortal!"

That was the last straw. I yanked my dagger back to me by pulling on the rope as I ran past my Dad.

Connor: "Lucy!!!"

The Shoes of Hermes I had on my feet sped me up so much that I was easily running 20 miles an hour (32kph). Tears ran down my face as I ran. I wanted to just scream or hit something. I was so angry, scared, sad, and any other kind of emotion I couldn't think of.

I kept running into the night until my legs finally gave out. I tripped and fell onto the ground. My arm had a nasty scrape on it that was bleeding. Just another sign of how weak a Mortal was.

Lucy: "Why.... Why was I born a Mortal...? Lucas is the most powerful Demigod I know and..."

I screamed out into the empty sky.

Lucy: "I'M A WEAK MORTAL!!!!!!!"

Suddenly, I heard a voice from in front of me.

???: "I can change that~"

I looked ahead and saw Seth hovering in front of me. His glowing pale eyes were bright in the darkness of night.

Lucy: "S-Seth?"

He knelt down and held his hand out. I took his hand and he helped me to my feet. His hand was cold but strong. I could feel the muscles in his hand.

Seth: "That's a nasty wound you have, may I?"

He held his hand over the wound and some kind of red sand started to cover the scrape. In a matter of seconds, the sand fell to the ground and my wound was healed.

Lucy: "T-Thank you"

Seth: "It's my pleasure, dear Lucy"

He wiped a tear from my face.

Seth: "Have you considered our deal? You seem in dire need of my help"

Lucy: "I... I hate being Mortal. Can you change that?"

Seth: "In a way, I can lend you my powers, essentially letting you use the powers of a God like a Demigod can"

Lucy: "Okay, I accept"

I held my hand out to shake his hand.

Seth: "You haven't even heard my end of the deal~"

Lucy: "I don't care what it is, just make me a Demigod"

Seth grinned.

Seth: "You'll be my servant in the afterlife for 200 years for your debt to me, then I'll send you back to the normal afterlife with the rest of your family"

The only thing going through my head was wanting to get stronger. I could go on the quest and prove to everyone that I'm just as strong as Lucas.

Lucy: "I accept"

We shook hands and without warning, Seth exploded as a big blast of shadows. When they cleared, he was gone. I suddenly felt something different inside me, like a boost of energy just waiting to exit my body.

I held my hand out and focused on the palm of my hand. As easy as flicking my wrist, a mini tornado formed in the palm of my hand. The wind had a red tint to it and it seemed a little violent and untamed.

Lucy: "It worked!!! T-Thank you Seth!!"

I realized what I had to do. With my new found energy, I sprinted towards the maid gates of the school, running faster than I was before. I wasn't getting tired as quickly and I felt more alive than ever.

Finally, I was free.
