Sky

I never expected to fight someone with similar powers to mine, usually I just dominated every fight I was in. During my time, I was the only child of Apophis. There weren't many Demigods in the place I grew up.

Idril coughed on the ground while holding onto her neck.

Idril: "S-Sky! Get that pendant off of his neck!"

I decided not to question it.

Sky: "On it!"

I dashed forward and swung my scythe straight for Lucas's neck, hoping to cut the string to the pendant instead of him, however he dodged effortlessly and pulled the trigger on one of his shadow guns, now glowing a blood red aura. I cut the bullet down with my scythe and kicked off of his arms, getting some distance between us.

That was my first mistake—

Making distance between myself and someone with a gun was not too smart. He started firing off a barrage of shadow bullets, making me dodge and block with my scythe.

Sky: "What's gotten into you?!"

He struggled to get a word out.

Lucas: "A-Apophis...!!!"

That name sent chills down my spine. My eyes went sharp as I decided to get serious.

Sky: "Try to fight it! If you can make your body stall for even a second, I can cut the pendant off!"

Lucas: "B-Be careful...!! If you break the pendant... He'll be set free!!"

Sky: "Idril, get Lily and get her out of here. They want to kill her because she's the key to freeing The Destroyer!"

Lucas: "W-What?!"

He charged at me as he made his shadow guns vanish. Instead, glowing red orbs formed from the ground beneath him and combined to form a red spear of that red energy.

He thrusted his spear aimed straight for my chest, however I pushed it aside with the shaft of my scythe and swung it, making sure not to use the sharp side. The end of the shaft slammed into his body, however it didn't even make him budge.

My ears lowered a bit.

Sky: "S-Sorry?"

He slammed his fist into the side of my head, sending me to the ground before kicking me in the stomach and sending me a few feet back.

Idril: "S-Sky!!"

Before I could let the pain settle in, I felt a rush of warmth cover my body. I saw my entire body had been covered in a green light. I looked over at saw Idril with her open palms pointed at me.

Idril: "H-Hang on!"

A bullet flew by Idril, making her scream and her healing spell getting interrupted.

Lucas: "Do what Sky said and run!! It's not safe!!"

I scrambled my brain to try and think of a way to get in close without getting beat up more. My body felt better due to the healing from Idril, but even with my strength, I couldn't beat Apophis.

Apophis...

Sky: "That's it!! Lucas!! Get ready!!"

Lucas seemed to brace himself. I took a deep breath.

Sky: "DADDY!!!!!!!!!"

Lucas's eyes opened wide and his body froze for a second, giving me just enough time to swiftly teleport in front of Lucas and cut the pendant off of his neck. The second I did, he fell to his knees as the blood red aura began to fade.

I picked up the pendant necklace.

Lucas: "P-Put it on"

Sky: "Why would I do that?"

Lucas: "Just do it, cat!"

I rolled my eyes and put the pendant on. Suddenly, I felt a presences enter my body. I then heard a voice in my head.

Apophis: "My dear daughter~"

Right on my shoulder, a cloud of blood red chaos energy began to form into the shape of a small snake, specifically, Apophis.

Apophis: "It's so good to see you again after all these—"

I gasped, cutting him off.

Sky: "DADDY!!!"

I grabbed ahold of him like I was grabbing his neck.

Sky: "You left Mommy and I alone you deadbeat!!!! You have a crazy amount of child support you're due to pay!!"

Apophis looked over at Lucas.

Apophis: "I change my mind!! Take me back!! Anything but this!!"

I squeezed so hard that his temporary form puffed away in a cloud of red smoke.

Lucas: "T-The hell was that?"

Sky: "Just some family drama, don't worry~"

I quickly ran over to Idril who was breathing heavily on her hands and knees.

Sky: "Are you hurt? Or just happy to see me~?"

Suddenly, she passed out, however I managed to catch her in my arms.

Sky: "I-Idril!"

Lucas: "It's okay, this happens when she heals too much. She was healing Lily constantly before you"

Lily: "Thanks for the head slam by the way"

Lucas quickly turned around and saw Lily hovering above him, however she was upside down. Despite my best wishes, her skirt somehow didn't fall down with her being upside down.

She still had a few scrapes and bruises, but she seemed pretty good.

Lucas: "Sorry about that..."

Lily: "I won't forget that"

Lucas: "I said sorry already"

Lily: "I'm only doing what I've seen others do. I'm teasing"

Her face was blank and emotionless.

Lucas: "You're not doing it right then"

Lily: "Oh? How so?"

Before he could respond, I heard Andra.

Andra: "How... how did you escape?! We had you in Magic bindings!!"

Sky: "Ehe~ I've accidentally tied myself and gotten stuck before! I know my way around a rope knot!~"

Andra: "I forgot how much of a pervert you are..."

Sky: "One that you used to—"

She threw her spear straight at me, however I caught it.

Sky: "You know I don't mind being penetrated, but this is a bit much~"

Andra: "Shut up!!!"

She struggled to stand.

Andra: "If we don't kill Lily, then Seth will be successful in freeing The Destroyer!! Killing her means it's never freed!!"

Lucas: "What do you mean?"

Andra: "I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but there used to be other cycles of life, other eras of existence before the one we are currently in. We are the seventh round of life, six came before us and all six were erased by The Destroyer. Normally, every single piece of information and every living creature is erased. However since the vastness of life is so great, a few slip through the cracks and enter into the new round of life"

She paused, as if treading carefully on the next topic.

Andra: "An example of this is Nanami, who attacked all of the Demigod schools in the past. However she was only a survivor from the sixth round of life. A more relevant example is the vampire that hovers by you. She has existed since the very first"

Lily's eyes opened wide.

Lily: "W-What?!"

Andra: "You are immortal, cursed by The Destroyer to always survive its destruction. In every single round of life, you are a key in freeing it. Every time a round of life has been erased, you have been the cause"

For the first time, I saw Lily slowly descend to the ground and fall to her knees.

Lily: "N-No... that... that can't be..."

Lucas: "You're lying!!"

Andra: "Why do you think we were entrusted with her in the first place? She was sealed inside that box to prevent The Destroyer from finding her and setting her free to free him"

Sky: "Lucas... she's not lying"

Lucas: "And how do you know?!"

Sky: "I've known Andra since the Middle Ages, she's not the kind of person to lie, especially not with something like this"

Andra: "If she dies, then The Destroyer can never be set free"

Lucas looked at her.

Lucas: "You said she was part of it. What's the other part?"

Andra: "The dagger your dear sister wields. It's the literal key to its prison. However for it to be unlocked, it requires both the key and the living blood of the cursed soul from the first round of life. When those two come together, the prison will be unlocked"

Lucas: "So what you're saying is that if one of these things were to get destroyed, it would be impossible for it to be freed?"

Andra: "Correct"

Lucas: "Then there's no need to kill Lily"

Lily looked up at him.

Lucas: "We just need to destroy Lucy's dagger"

Andra seemed to think on it.

Lucas: "Besides, you just said that Lily's immortal. How are you supposed to kill her if she's immortal?"

Andra: "The Gods are considered immortal and yet they die"

Lucas: "The dagger will be destroyed, but we need to find Lucy first. We heard that you know where she is"

Andra: "Indeed... but..."

Suddenly, Lexi started to limp over to us.

Lexi: "She's at Mythical University"

She fell to her knees, however Andra managed to catch her.

Andra: "Rest Lexi, you did very good"

Lexi's wolf tail started wagging a bit.

Lucas: "The other Demigod school... huh..."

I walked over to Andra.

Lucas: "I've got a question for you"

Andra: "What?"

Lucas: "Where are our friends?"

Andra: "I had my allies capture them. I'll have them brought here and we will help them recover"

Lily kept her head down for most of the conversation. According to what I've heard, she lost her memories of everything. But I had a strange feeling she was starting to remember.

Mia

When I woke up, I felt a huge amount of pain in my belly area. I didn't remember much from what happened. The last thing I remembered was fighting that water girl and then...

Mia: "A-Adrian..."

I suddenly felt a hand hold onto mine. I opened my eyes slightly to see Adrian sitting in the chair next to my bed.

Adrian: "M-Mia!"

He turned and yelled out.

Adrian: "M-Mia's awake!!"

A few Amazons hurried into the room and began taking my vitals. It was only then that I realized I was in what looked like a hospital room.

They had Adrian stand back while they gave me something in my IV.

Amazon: "You'll be okay, Hali gave you quite the wound. I guess she hasn't gotten over her days as an Assassin. She isn't used to taking people in alive"

I couldn't talk, however I just laid there. I felt groggy and tired. However I heard Adrain say something to me.

Adrian: "I'll go get Idril, she can heal you up fast"

I turned my head to see Adrain run out of the room. I smiled.

Mia: "D-Dummy..."

Emiko

I not sure how long I was down there up to this point. It felt like months, almost years at this point. After constant resistance against Seth, he decided that punishments would be more effective at converting me.

At first, they were relatively small and just a bit annoying. He limited my food to just water and bread, which though bland, didn't bother me so much.

The next thing he tried doing was making me feel embarrassed and ashamed, so he made every last bit of my clothing vanish, forcing me to walk around the castle completely naked. I guess he thought humiliation would break me.

Even after that, I still wouldn't budge. I defied him at every chance I got.

But that's when the punishments grew worse and worse.

The first of these worse punishments began with horrific and brutal nightmares, stuff like watching my loved ones die or being chased by hordes of Monsters.

When he realized that psychological torture was going nowhere, he decided to switch to physical. He would chain me up in front of the other servants and have each of them whip me. Not only was it to torture me, but it was also an example to the others for what happens when you defy him.

I would go to bed crying in pain as the whip marks covered my body. Even in sleep, I wasn't safe from the nightmares. I face nightmares during the day and during the night. I couldn't escape it.

But todays torture was by far the worst. I was chained up in the main courtyard, still completely naked to shame me. Seth had a few of his Demigod servants who knew electric magic of had electric powers to shock and torture me. The constant electric shocks made my body convulse and feel pain I didn't think a human body could endure. But I knew that since this was my soul, I could take a lot more than my human body. That was unlucky for me since that meant I experienced worse and worse pain.

Emiko: "S-Stop...!!! P-Please...!!!"

I was already crying, however the tears that ran down my face became electrified whenever they shocked me.

Every shock made me scream in pain. There was no passing out for the soul, so I couldn't even pass out from the pain.

After hours and hours, I heard the clapping of Seth from behind me.

Seth: "I must say, my dear~ You've put up quite the fight~ Even after all this time, you still resist. I have to give you credit for that much"

I panted heavily as my throat hurt from the crying and screaming. He walked around me and stood directly in front of me, looking up into my eyes. He was still in Connor's body, which filled me with rage.

Seth: "Maybe now you've learned your lesson~?"

Every part of me wanted to just give in, to just make the pain go away. Despite that, I spit right in his face.

Seth scowled, however he simply wiped it off of his face.

Seth: "I recently paid your daughter a visit~"

He held out a strand of red hair. Despite my rage, I couldn't even move my body.

Seth: "I also saw your Niece~ Last I saw of her, she was in the Demigod school I just slaughtered~ I wonder if she made it out. I couldn't find her body of course~"

Tears ran down my face. Despite that, I managed to get a sentence out.

Emiko: "She's not dead..."

Seth: "And how can you be so sure~?"

Emiko: "She made a deal with you... If she was dead, she would be here..."

Seth: "Even after all the torture, you can still use your head"

He grabbed ahold of my chin.

Seth: "Perhaps I've been to lenient with you"

He turned to his servants.

Seth: "Leave her out here. The harsh sun should teach her a lesson. Whenever she goes limp, bring her inside and toss her in a cell. She's lost her bedroom privileges~"

Seth vanished in a puff of red smoke while the servants simply walked past me, leaving me alone in the harsh sunlight and heat.

Emiko: "Mia... L-Lucy... please don't do anything stupid..."

Lucy

I don't know how long I was out, but I was getting seriously tired of this. The number of times I passed out deserves a counter in the corner of this story.

Regardless, when I opened my eyes, I felt a warmth I never felt before. Despite the warmth, I was blinded when I tried to open my eyes. I quickly covered them with my hand and sat up. I used my hand to shade my eyes as I looked around.

I laid in a large grassy plain, flowers and plants as far as the eye could see. In the distance, I saw a large forest with trees larger than I thought existed. The sun was so bright that I couldn't even keep my eyes open for too long.

I quickly reached into a small bag on my belt and pulled out the Mask of Isis, something I had gotten from Mytho-Academy's armory. I quickly put the mask on and willed it to turn into sunglasses.

During my free time, back when I was with everyone, Yuna and I had tested the limits of the mask. I could use it to turn into any face accessory or use it to change my appearance completely, making me into someone else. However that second part was only an illusion. The sunglasses were real. With them, I could finally look around without hurting my eyes.

Lucy: "Where am I?"

???: "More importantly, who are you?"

I quickly turned my head and saw a girl standing behind me.

The girl was the goth. She had a black and torn crop top shirt where the short sleeves left her shoulders exposed. She had fishnet arm accessories as well as a black collar around her neck, she wore a short black skirt and black platform boots. She also had some fishnet leggings on as well. Her hair was bright red, almost like fire. Despite the red hair, her eyes were a cool dark blue. Her ears were pointy like an elf and she had the same kind of tail Idril had, only hers was the same color red as her hair.

She glared down at me and spoke in a demanding tone.

???: "I'll ask again, who are you?"

Lucy: "I-I'm Lucy"

???: "What are you doing here? You're a human"

Lucy: "I don't know where here even is"

???: "You're in Alfheim, the realm of the Elves"

My eyes opened wide.

Though I didn't understand it until now, Idril had told me stories about Alfheim growing up as bedtime stories. She always said they were just fantasy and not real, but she's an elf, so her stories were true.

???: "And you're on private property"

Lucy: "I-I'm sorry, I didn't know"

???: "Doesn't matter, I'm taking you in!"

I tried to get up, however she immediately pinned me to the ground and pressed her platform boot on the back of my head.

Lucy: "O-Ow!! O-Okay!!"

???: "Next time, don't make any funny movements"

She grabbed some rope from her belt and tied my hands together.

???: "Now get up"

Lucy: "I can't...!"

???: "Do I need to make you?"

Lucy: "No! Literally! I can't!!"

I motioned towards the wheelchair a few feet away from us. She sighed and grumbled.

???: "What a loser... I can't believe she's gonna make me wheel her all the way..."

After she threw me into my wheelchair, yes threw me, she wheeled me through the fields until we reached a massive mansion. And when I say massive, I mean massive. It was easily the biggest mansion on earth, even if Alfheim isn't exactly on earth.

Brittany: "Try anything and you'll be crawling like a bug~"

I gulped as she wheeled me inside. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside, mostly made of dark oak and quartz, but everything looked more expensive than our own house.

She wheeled me deep inside the mansion until we reached a set of double doors.

???: "I know you can't but if you even stand, I'll make sure you never do it again"

I nodded.

The doors opened by themselves and revealed a massive throne room, with a gold throne. In the throne, was an elf that looked pretty similar to the one who had brought me in.

She definitely wasn't a goth, wearing a hot pink dress, the kind royalty would wear. It was sleeveless so it left the shoulders exposed, however she wore these arm sleeves that went up to just past her elbow. She wore a beautiful golden necklace with a blue gem in the center. A pink headpiece rested on her head with small blue jewelry hanging down from it. She had the same dark blue eyes and fiery red hair, however hers was more messy and tied into twin tails. Despite how regal she looked, there was a bandage over her left cheek.

???: "Princess Bella, I've found this loser trespassing on our property"

Bella spoke in a soft, gentle voice.

Bella: "Brittany, please don't call everyone a loser. It's not becoming of royalty"

Brittany: "She appeared in your flower fields with a weapon on her belt, likely to assassinate you"

Bella smiled and stood from her throne.

Bella: "Please untie her hands"

Brittany: "What?! Why?!"

Bella: "Because I do not believe she means us any harm. In fact, I think you've done more harm to her"

Brittany blushed a bit.

Brittany: "F-Fine"

She untied my hands and I rubbed my wrists.

Bella: "You're human, what brings you to the realm of the Elves?"

Lucy: "I was pushed through a portal after..."

The memories of what happened flooded my mind.

Lucy: "Mythical University was destroyed..."

Brittany: "Liar!! There's no way it could've been destroyed!! That place was a fortress!!"

Bella: "Brittany, you and I both know that the portal to this place was sealed away by them. The only way someone could've passed through was if they unlocked it. A last ditch escape attempt would be within reason"

She walked over to me, however I didn't hear the tapping of shoes on the floor, leaving me to believe she was barefoot.

Bella: "Tell us everything, please"

After explaining what happened, including the part about Seth, both Brittany and Bella looked like they were going to cry. Despite that, they managed to keep themselves composed.

Bella: "You're very brave, human"

Lucy: "My name is Lucy, and... I'm not brave..."

Bella: "Despite being a human, you continue to fight fierce monsters and powerful creatures along side others with vast powers. Meanwhile, you're just a powerless human"

Lucy: "A-A little blunt..."

Bella blushed a bit and started twirling her twin tail around her finger.

Bella: "S-Sorry, still not much of a people person"

She got herself together.

Bella: "What I'm saying is, you're incredibly brave for not running away. I can't think of a human who would continue fighting along side Demigods after all they've seen"

Lucy: "It's not just that, they're my family too. Pretty much all of my family are Demigods, except me"

Bella: "Who are your parents?"

Lucy: "Connor and Angel Yukari"

The name Yukari held weight in the room. The second I said it, I heard an almost fangirl scream.

???: "Y-Yukari?! Is it actually them?!"

I quickly looked behind me to see a completely different elf.

She had dark skin and pale green hair, however it was so long that it went down below her hips. She only wore a long sleeve shirt that seemed a few sizes too big, so it acted as a kind of dress. I was hoping she had something underneath, but I wasn't getting my hopes up. She wore thin circle glasses and a cute smile.

Bella: "Lyra, you know of the Yukari's?"

The dark elf quickly ran over to me.

Lyra: "You're the spitting image of Connor. Idril said you would likely come here one day"

Lucy: "You know Idril?"

Lyra blushed a bit as her elf tail swayed.

Lyra: "Idril and I are best buddies, we go back a few hundred years!"

Lucy: "H-Hundred?!"

Bella: "You're saying she's the daughter of the people who set us free all those years ago?"

Lucy: "Set free?"

Bella turned and sat down on her throne.

Bella: "Everyone, please sit"

She then saw me in my wheelchair.

Bella: "O-Oopsie~ Sorry"

Brittany and Lyra sat down.

Bella: "Long ago, your Father and Mother, along with their own group of Demigods, came here and overthrew the previous owner of this mansion, Driam"

That name made both Brittany and Lyra uncomfortable.

Bella: "He kept all inferior elves as his slaves, torturing and tormenting them for his own amusement. Thousands upon thousands of years went by and he grew in power. So much so that he became a ruler of Alfheim. But after your parents defeated him, all of his slaves were freed, including the three of us. Brittany and I were royalty, yet he kept us like slaves. Now, we rule and not a single elf is enslaved"

She bowed her head to me.

Bella: "For that act, we are forever in the Yukari's debt"

Lucy: "Then help me... please..."

Lyra placed her hand on my back.

Lyra: "What do you need? Name it and we'll help the best we can"

Lucy: "I need to get back home, to Mytho-Academy"

Bella: "We will grant your wish, however it will take time. You see, time works differently here in Alfheim. Though we aren't sure the exact time difference, time moves faster here than it does in Midgard. Meaning, a year here could be a week there. That's not exactly how it is, but it's just to give you an idea. For us to make a portal back, we would need to time the portal just right. However that will take a while"

Lucy: "How long?"

Bella: "A few months at best"

I lowered my head.

Brittany: "Look at it this way, loser, you can use this chance to recover from that wheelchair and maybe learn to fight properly"

Bella: "Good suggestion, Brittany. In that case, you will teach her to fight"

Brittany: "W-What?! I didn't agree to this!!"

Bella: "Obey your Princess, or else~"

She winked at Brittany teasingly, however Brittany just blushed and pouted.

Brittany: "F-Fine..."

I leaned over to Lyra.

Lucy: "What was that?"

Lyra: "They're sisters, but I think Brittany has some deep secret that Bella knows about"

Bella: "Very well, your recovery and training will begin as soon as possible. Lyra, I will leave you in charge of her while she is here. Take care of her every need and help in her recovery process"

Lyra: "Yes my Princess"

Bella smiled down at me.

Bella: "Lucy, I hope you enjoy your stay in Alfheim!~"

As Lyra wheeled me out of the room, I only had one goal in mind.

Train to become an even better fighter than Lucas so I can keep up with the rest of them. Then, I'll find a way to get Aunt Emiko back from Seth. Finally, I'll stop The Destroyer and Seth's plan, no matter what it costs.

I may be Mortal, but that's never going to stop me from doing what's right.

Wow, what a ride— and by ride, I mean an agonizingly prolonged ride— I'm so sorry for the poor publishing schedule. I went almost half a year without a single update.

From here on, I should be able to get more chapters up!!
