Adrian

Mia had informed us about his encounter with Seth. Immediately, I was worried about him. I knew how much he wanted to get revenge for his mother, I could even see the pain still lingering in his eyes. Lucas looked over at me and nodded.

Lucas: "Yuna, you and Lily will help me with the trap. Idril, you come too"

Mia: "What about Adrian and I?"

Lucas: "Relax, you two look tired"

Yuna: "I'm tired too!"

Lucas smacked her on the back of her head.

Lucas: "Come on"

Though Yuna didn't like it, all of them walked off, leaving Mia and I alone.

Mia: "What was that about?"

Adrian: "Mia... we need to talk"

Suddenly, the sound of police sirens rang around us.

Mia: "Later, let's go somewhere private"

He grabbed onto me and formed wings on his back, shooting us high into the air.

I may or may not have screamed like a girl, but even Demigods can be afraid of heights.

We landed on a nearby rooftop to keep an eye on the situation. By the time the police arrived, all of the Amazons were gone.

Mia: "We're safe up here, we'll chill here until Lucas and the others are ready"

He sat down on the ground.

Mia: "So what's up?"

Adrian: "I'm worried about you..."

Mia: "Why? I'm fine"

Adrian: "I've known you long enough to tell when you aren't. I can see it in your eyes"

Mia: "There's nothing wrong with me"

I wanted to argue, however I knew I would end up losing.

Adrian: "Mia... please..."

I sat down on a pipe.

Adrian: "Seeing Seth again lit a fire in your eyes that hasn't burnt out. You look like you're ready to snap at any second"

Mia: "Adrian..."

He sighed and sat down next to me.

Mia: "I don't want to keep secrets from you. I'm absolutely furious and I need to make sure Seth gets what he deserves. Every time I think about him, I wanna claw his eyes out. But..."

Adrian: "Don't fall victim to your own rage. You saw how that went for me... But having control is what gives us strength. We never cross that line of revenge"

Mia: "How can you say that?! How can you tell me not to get revenge!!"

Adrian: "We have to be better than that! If we go for revenge, we're just as bad as they are! We'll go to any length to get it!"

Mia: "So what?! Would you rather I just let him get away with it?!"

Adrian: "There's a right and wrong way to go about this. You're blinded by your rage"

Mia: "BECAUSE MY MOM IS DEAD!!!!!!"

I stayed silent.

Mia: "Both of your parents are still alive!! So don't even try to act like you understand anything I'm going through!!!"

Adrian: "Mia..."

Mia: "What?!"

I stood up and spread my arms open.

Adrian: "If you're mad, take it out on me"

Mia: "W-What?"

Adrian: "Y-You need to release your anger. So... if beating me up will help, I'll take it"

Mia's tears grew even stronger.

Mia: "Adrian... n-no... Gods no....!"

He pulled me close and cried into my shoulder.

Mia: "I-I could never hurt you like that...!! Never..!!"

He sobbed more and all I could do was hug him.

Mia: "I... I'm not mad at anyone but myself... maybe if I was stronger like Mom... Maybe she would still be alive...."

Adrian: "You are strong, Mia. You're the strongest person I know"

I tightened my grip on her.

Adrian: "I'm definitely not the bravest in our team, but... I'll protect you with my life. That's my Demigod Oath to you..."

A Demigod Oath is an oath that if broken, the Demigod's soul will be sent to the horrible parts of the underworld. It was a newly rediscovered oath from ancient times.

Mia: "Y-You... you're such an idiot..."

Adrian: "I-I love you too"

Suddenly, a blast of high pressure water shot straight down towards us from a taller building.

Mia: "Get down!!"

He pinned me to the ground and transformed his back into a high density steel. The water crashed into Mia, however the steel completely stopped it.

Adrian: "W-We need to get back to the others!!"

???: "Sorry~ But I can't let that happen"

From the rooftop over, we saw a girl with blonde hair in long twin tails. For some reason, the tip of one of her twin tails was covered in water. Her eyes shined a dark blue in the sunlight. She wore a small black and yellow jacket over a thin grey t-shirt. She also had a pair of ripped black jeans and a black and yellow belt holding them up. Her feet were covered in some kind of water instead of shoes. A large and torn cloak blew in the wind from her back. In her hands were two large black daggers. Despite the situation, she was chewing a piece of gum and blew a bubble.

Suddenly, she pulled out a cell phone and began recording herself.

???: "Good to see you all again!!~ I'm Hali and this is the Demigod Beatdown!~ Today, we've got two Demigods who I've been ordered to bring in, do you think they'll stand a chance~?"

Mia and I just looked at her like she was crazy.

Hali: "We have a team up today, however no one else wanted to stream their fights... But lucky for you viewers, I hid cameras on them, so they should be going through right now!"

Mia: "The hell do you want?!"

Hali turned to us.

Hali: "Give me a minute! I'm doing my intro!!"

Mia and I looked at each other.

Adrian: "What should we do?"

Mia: "Walk away?"

Suddenly, another high pressure blast of water shot down to us. I quickly put my arm out and turned it to ice the second it touched my palm.

Hali: "Ooooo!~ An ice Demigod?! This'll be quite the challenge~ I can't wait!!~"

Mia: "She's a psycho"

Adrian: "W-We should try and get away from her, it sounds like the others are in trouble too"

Hali: "You shouldn't worry about them, focus more on yourselves~"

She leaped down and threw multiple throwing knives at us, which Mia was able to destroy with his razor sharp claws.

Hali: "Come on!!~"

Hali swung her large knife down on Mia with a downward grip, however Mia turned her entire arm into steel, completely blocking the attack.

Hali: "Shapeshifter too?! This is great!!!"

She grinned and began a flurry of knife attacks. While Mia seemed to hold his own, the speed she was attacking was starting to overwhelm him.

Adrian: "H-Hang on!!"

I held my hand out and formed a long trident made of ice. I ran in and tried to pierce Hali, however the second it did, it went straight through her body. She leaped away, however water had filled the holes left in her body.

Mia: "S-She's made of water!!"

She grinned.

Hali: "Daughter of Poseidon~ As well as number one in Demigod streaming~ I even have an OnlyFans, do you boys wanna quick peek before I take you in~?"

Mia: "No thanks, I don't swing that way!!"

Mia sprouted wings from her arms and flew straight towards Hali. Before Hali could do anything, Mia's feathers shifted to porcupine quills, shooting down at Hali. Despite the sheer number, they all wet straight through.

Hali: "It would seem I can't hurt you since you turn into metal, but you can't hurt me since I'm made of water~"

Her eyes suddenly went sharp.

Hali: "I'll enjoy wearing down that metal until it shatters!"

Her entire body morphed into water as the glob shot straight for Mia. I quickly got between them and put my hand out. The second her water touched my hand, it immediately froze on contact. Before we knew it, she was nothing but a frozen block of ice.

Mia: "Thank Gods you got your ice powers over your water ones"

Adrian: "I would've been completely useless too"

He punched me in the shoulder.

Mia: "I wasn't that useless. I saved your sorry butt"

Adrian: "I did too! And ow..."

Suddenly, the ice began to crack.

Mia: "C-Can she still move?!"

Adrian: "Hold on!"

I held my hand out and tried to used my ice to keep her frozen completely. Despite that, the ice kept cracking more and more until it exploded.

From the ice, Hali dashed straight for us. Despite her prior state of water, when she turned back into a human, all of her clothes were gone.

Hali: "Get over here!!"

Hali aimed her dagger straight for my head, however Mia jumped in the way and turned his body into metal. That's when I saw a smirk appear on Hali's face.

Hali: "You underestimate what water can do!!"

The blade of the dagger became coated in water. Then, faster than either of us could react, the water shot straight off of the dagger, so fast and so precise that it shot straight through Mia's metal skin.

Adrian: "M-Mia!!!!"

The water had shot straight through his body, right into his stomach.

Hali: "Water can be focused in at one small point, and with enough pressure can even cut through steel!!"

Mia collapsed to the ground.

Adrian: "Mia!! H-Hang on!!"

I tried to run to him, however Hali appeared in front of me as a glob of water.

Hali: "Not so fast! I'm still here you know!~"

I screamed at the top of my lungs and formed a massive wave of ice shards, however they all passed straight through her water body.

Hali: "I'm also the world's best Demigod assassin~ I've never failed a job before and I don't intend to now~"

She charged at me as a giant glob of water, sucking me in and cutting off my air. I struggled in the water, however if I froze her, I would be frozen inside too. I did everything I could to get free, however nothing was working. I looked over at Mia and reached my hand out before passing out due to oxygen loss.

Yuna

This suuuuuuuuucked!!

Lucas and Idril were drawing magic circles all around the abandoned street, getting ready for the Amazons to come attack us again. Magic traps took a lot of boring preparation to do, so I just sat down on the curb.

Lily: "You like Lucas, don't you?"

I looked up and saw Lily hovering above me.

Yuna: "It's... complicated"

Lily: "How so?"

Yuna: "I've always had a huge crush on him since I met him. But..."

Lily: "You're already in a relationship with Lucy, no?"

Yuna: "That's just it. We barely even knew each other for like a week. I... I don't know why I asked her to be my girlfriend to begin with. I'm a complete hornball, but... even that was a bit much for me"

Lily: "Do you regret it?"

Yuna: "No, I don't. I just... I think we moved a bit too fast. I knew she liked Terran. Maybe... I did it out of jealousy"

Lily: "So you like both brother and sister?"

I blushed a tiny bit.

Yuna: "It sounds a bit weird when you put it like that, but kinda..."

Lily: "You humans are odd"

Yuna: "Says the vampire"

She flipped upside down, somehow her skirt not falling up.

Lily: "Why do you have feelings for them both? It seems rather odd"

Yuna: "Genuinely, the Aphrodite parts of my blood make me completely fall for anyone I find attractive. But I'm normally able to keep those feelings down for the most part. But... it's like those two are ten times stronger than others"

Lily: "I was told that Aphrodite was greatly attracted to Lucas's father. Perhaps that bloodline is a great attractor to the Goddess of Love"

Yuna: "Either way, after losing Lucy, I just... I don't know what I should do when I see her again"

Lily didn't even hesitate.

Lily: "Be truthful"

Yuna: "Huh?"

Lily: "The truth may sting at first, but being caught in a lie will hurt much longer. Being honest leads to trust. Being caught in a lie will lead to mistrust, making it harder to form a connection. Lying will only cause both of you trouble down the road. So just be honest"

I smiled at her.

Yuna: "You act clueless a lot, but you're actually a really good person, Lily"

Lily: "You... think I'm a good person?"

Yuna: "Yeah! You've been with Lucas through all the stuff he's going through, never leaving his side. Meanwhile... I just locked myself away in my room when everyone else needed me"

I suddenly felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I quickly turned around and saw Idril.

Idril: "Everyone grieves differently. Even I needed my space to process it. I've known your parents for many years, they're my family. I'm devastated over Emiko and very worried about Connor, but I can't do anything at the moment. The most I can do is try to figure out a way to get them back"

Lucas: "And it all starts with Lucy"

Lucas walked over to us, rubbing his hands.

Lucas: "I don't remember magic traps being so hard to set up"

Idril: "Normal ones are, but if we're using them on Amazons, we need to use more advanced spells"

He leaned against the wall to the building behind us.

Lucas: "Once we get her back, I'm kicking her ass"

Idril: "Don't you dare!"

Idril pouted.

Lucas: "I'm gonna kick her ass for making the deal with Seth"

Yuna: "She only did it because she felt like she was being left behind"

Lucas: "Don't try and justify it. A deal with Seth is what got Aunt Emiko killed. She shouldn't try to mess with things she knows nothing about"

Idril: "She wanted to be like the rest of us"

Lucas: "She's not! She's just a Mortal and she needs to accept it before she gets herself killed!!!"

Lucas stormed off, followed quickly by Lily.

Idril: "L-Lucas!! We can't split up!"

It was no use, he had already walked off.

Idril: "I'm worried about him..."

Yuna: "He can blow off some steam. As long as he doesn't go too far"

Suddenly, I saw a few drops of sweat run down Idril's face.

Yuna: "Are you okay? You're sweating a lot"

Idril: "Y-Yes, I-I think"

She wiped her head.

Idril: "Are you hot?"

I smirked.

Yuna: "Appearance or temperature wise~?"

Idril: "Temperature"

Yuna: "Not really, built in heat resistance from my Ra side"

I saw her start to sweat a bit more.

Idril: "I-It shouldn't be this hot out, do you have some water?"

I reached into my bag and handed her a water bottle.

Idril: "Something's not right, this is too hot even for Japan"

Yuna: "I'm starting to feel it, which is definitely a bad sign"

???: "What? Can't stand the heat?"

I turned around to see a girl maybe a few years older than me. She had long scarlet red hair with a bit of it covering her one eye. Her eyes were fiery red with a bored expression on her face. He wore a red hoodie that showed off a bit of cleavage, which I definitely didn't mind. She wore a black skirt with a red transparent ribbon wrapping around the whole thing. The final piece of clothing was a pair of red and black boots.

Yuna: "Can I help you?"

???: "Depends if you're the people I'm looking for. Since you have an elf, it would appear so"

I put my arm out in front of Idril to protect her.

Yuna: "You're with the Amazons, aren't you?"

???: "For now. I could care less about what they want"

Yuna: "Then what is it you want?"

The heat suddenly vanished.

???: "Your death...."

A massive wave of heat exploded from her body. Right before it could hit us, a thrusted my arm and put a barrier of fire between us and the heatwave. I would've been fine, but Idril would be a crispy elf.

Yuna: "G-Go find Lucas!"

Idril: "I-I can't leave you here alone!"

Yuna: "I can handle myself! I'm the strongest Demigod in the school, go!"

Though she didn't like it, Idril ran off to find Lucas and Lily. Once she was a safe distance away, I formed my twin katana from fire and lightning.

Yuna: "Why do you want me dead?! I've never done anything to you!"

She slammed her hand down into the ground, melting the concrete and rock beneath her into magma. She then lifted it up, quickly forming a massive claymore made of molten rock.

???: "My name is Adora!! I'm the offspring of Surtr, the giant your mother killed!!!"

I had heard the story of the invasion of the Fallen from my mother many times. Siyuka specifically bragged about how she was able to defeat the fire giant Surtr with one blow. She had no choice, obviously, but I never even considered that Surtr would have a kid. I mean, is there a sexy lady giant roaming around?

Adora slammed her claymore into the ground, turning everything in front of it into molten hot magma. The ground beneath me melted, however I managed to leap away just in time. Despite my fire resistance, it didn't apply to actual lava!

Yuna: "Surtr was killed because he tried to kill all the Demigods!!"

Adora: "Enough of your lies!!"

She charged me, swinging her massive claymore with one arm almost effortlessly, which I just barely managed to block with both katana.

Adora: "I'll make sure your blood boils in your own skin!!"

Yuna: "Can't we settle this some other way?! I-I'll even let you see me in my underwear if that's what you want!!"

That seemed to make her even more angry.

Adora: "Don't taunt me!!!!"

She grabbed the handle with her other hand and pushed harder, making me lose my footing. Luckily, I managed to escape unscathed by turning into lightning and getting some distance between us.

Yuna: "Maybe if I can get close enough..."

I thought about using my emotion manipulation to try and calm her down, but to actually make it effective, I would need to make contact with her.

She immediately bombarded me with a flurry of fast slashes, which I didn't think was possible with a claymore. Every attack I had to either dodge or push away before it could hit me. There were no openings for a counter attack.

Adora: "I'll melt you into glue!!!"

Yuna: "It's not my fault!!"

Adora: "It doesn't matter! Making your Mother lose you will finally get her to understand how I've felt my entire life!!!"

Her body exploded with heat so intense that it started to melt the concrete buildings and glass around us. It became too much for me and I fell to my knees.

Yuna: "S-Stop...!"

The heat emanating from her body grew hotter and hotter, so hot that for the first time, of which I never thought I would ever experience in my life, I passed out due to exposure to heat.

Sky

Sky: "H-How is that possible?! T-The Destroyer?!"

Andra: "I understand you had issues with this being in the past..."

Flashbacks of the time before I was sent to Tartarus flooded my mind.

Sky; "Long ago, during the time of Kings and Queens, me and a group of friends fought against The Destroyer when it got close to being freed from its prison. We sacrificed everything to prevent its escape, and what did the Gods do? They deemed me too dangerous and locked me away...."

Andra's eyes grew somewhat sympathetic.

Andra: "The weapon you used to act as the key to its prison is now in the hands of a Mortal"

My eyes widened.

Sky: "S-Someone found it?! Damnit Agis..."

Andra: "One of your friends?"

Sky: "Not important... But where is it now? And can you please let me up, I promise I'll behave"

For once, I didn't make it sound like I was implying something. Talk of The Destroyer made me serious.

Andra: "I cannot, however I'll set you up at least"

She picked my chair up with me in it effortlessly and set me upright.

Sky: "Strong as a gorilla~"

She glared at me.

Andra: "It is in the hands of the Mortal you are currently seeking, Lucy Yukari"

Sky: "So she has it, that doesn't explain why Lily is the key"

Andra: "As you know, we are currently on the seventh cycle of existence, after The Destroyer reset everything six times prior. The key to awakening The Destroyer lies within the key to its cage, and the blood of a being who lived during the first cycle of life"

I got goosebumps all over my body.

Sky: "What are you saying...?"

Andra: "Lily is not from this age, she is much, much older. She is the last survivor of the first cycle of life"

Those words hit me like bricks.

Andra: "Seth knows this, and I believe his goal is to awaken The Destroyer. However the key to his cage can only be unlocked by one who wields the blade. The original owner was Emiko Yukari, the woman he killed a month ago. It was passed down to Lucy when she first arrived, making her the rightful owner. If Seth tried to forcefully take it, it would be powerless. The only way for him to free The Destroyer would be to have Lucy..."

She gasped.

Andra: "That must be why he's taken Connor Yukari captive"

She grabbed her spear.

Andra: "We cannot prevent Lucy from being manipulated. Even if we killed her, the key would vanish until another is worthy of wielding it. However we can permanently prevent its revival. By killing Lily, we can make sure it is never freed..."

Sky: "No! You can't do that!!"

Andra: "What do you care? You've known them for a little over a week"

Sky: "They... remind me of them..."

I was referring to my friends, who would be long dead by now.

Andra: "The rest may live, but Lily must die. There is no other way to prevent its return"

I struggled in the restraints, however they were blocking my powers.

Sky: "No!! You can't do this!!"

Andra started walking away from me.

Sky: "Andra!! Please!!!"

Andra: "By sunset, Lily will be nothing more than a blood stain on the wall"
