Mia

People wouldn't stop looking at me. It was probably because I took the form of a hawk, something you really wouldn't see in a big city in Japan. However I just ignored them and continued flying around. I desperately looked for any sign of Lucy, however I still came up empty.

Mia: "Damnit... I didn't expect us to find her right away, but still..."

I swooped down and landed on a nearby rooftop. I shifted back into my human form and looked around, not seeing anything out of the ordinary.

Mia: "What should I do..."

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a picture of me and my Moms. No matter how many times I looked at it, I couldn't keep my eyes from tearing up.

???: "My, what a tragic loss. I do apologize for that~"

The second I heard the voice, rage coursed through my veins and I immediately transformed my hand into a large swordfish blade. I swung my arm back as I turned to see Connor standing behind me. Looking into his eyes, seeing the pale blue associated with chaos, I knew it was really Seth.

Mia: "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!!!!"

He simply caught the blade and pushed it away.

Seth: "I love that fire in your eyes! The same as your precious mother~ Though the last time I saw you, you were a girl. I wonder what happened. You would've made a fantastic second wife, however I don't, what your generation call, swing that way"

I shifted my arms into hawk wings with sharp razors on the end made from shark teeth. I launched all of them at once with a swing of my wings, however he simply held out his hand and formed a barrier of chaos energy.

Seth: "Just like your mother, so quick to attack. I haven't even explained why I'm here"

Mia: "Go to hell!!!! You killed my Mom!!!!!"

I grew large claws on the tips of my fingers and swung at him in a blind rage. He sidestepped a few swings while dodging or parrying others.

Seth: "You may want to listen to me if you want to find your precious Lucy~"

I immediately stopped my onslaught.

Mia: "You know where she is?!"

Seth: "Of course, but that information comes at a co—"

I turned my arm into a large octopus tentacle and slammed it into Seth, sending him flying back a few feet before regaining his balance.

Seth: "Hurt me and you hurt Connor~"

I was so pissed that I just started screaming.

Mia: "I swear, I'm going to fucking end you!!!!"

Seth: "That would be amusing, but my dear girl/boy thing. I require some proof that I've visited you, otherwise your dear mother won't believe me"

Mia: "If you lay a single finger on here head—"

Seth sighed and put his hand out.

Seth: "Enough with your empty threats, she is fine for now. However she may not be unless you cooperate"

As much as I wanted to claw his face in, I didn't have much choice.

Mia: "You're not getting my soul!!"

Seth: "I never asked for that, did I? I simply said information comes with a cost"

Mia: "Then what is it, spit it out!!"

Seth: "Very well, I want you to relay a message to two people. The first, is Lucas Yukari. Give him this, and if you open it before he reads it himself, I'll put your mother through the worst torture a soul can experience~"

He tossed me a letter with a wax seal on it.

Seth: "The second is for that new buddy you have, Sky is her name? She only has one sentence for her message"

He grew a wicked grin.

Seth: "The Destroyer has not forgotten what you did"

With a single swing of his sword, a strand of my hair was cut off and landed in his palm.

Seth: "We will meet again. As for the information you requested, she is being held at the enemy school. The key to getting there, however, lies in the enemy who currently has your group surrounded. Better get back to them~"

With a single wave of his hand, Seth vanished in a puff of red mist.

The others!!!

I quickly morphed into a hawk and raced back to where we split up. Not far from that place, I saw Lucas, surrounded by a bunch of women wearing armor.

Mia: "T-The Amazons?! What are they doing in Japan?!"

I quickly swooped down and let out a screech. Lucas immediately looked up and nodded.

Lucas: "I'm not in the mood to deal with you people right now, so piss off"

Suddenly, his body began to give off a blood red aura. His eyes glowed yellow and I noticed the Amazons begin to back away. One of them even dropped their spear. The second I was low enough, he leaped up and grabbed my hawk foot, allowing us to make a quick get away. Lily floated not far behind.

Lucas: "Thanks for the save"

Mia: "What did you just do?!"

Lucas: "Phobikinesis, manipulation of fear, I just made them perceive me as the most horrifying thing they could imagine"

Mia: "That's— disturbing"

Lucas: "Yeah, I've heard that before"

Mia: "Any idea where the others are?"

Lucas: "Likely facing off against Amazons, they went somewhere private, but it wasn't that long. They shouldn't be too far away"

As if on cue, we heard an explosion down the street.

Mia: "What did they do now!!"

Lucas: "Let's hurry!"

I swooped down and arrived at the battlefield. Cars were flipped over and battles had begun.

Adrian formed ice walls to stop any arrows being fired at them while Yuna fought off the more close combat proficient Amazons. Idril was hanging back since she wasn't much of a fighter while Sky was nowhere to be seen.

Lucas: "Drop me! I got this!"

I released him and allowed him to join the battle. Like before, his eyes glowed yellow as the Amazons around us began to stand down, some dropping weapons and running. However a few stayed, the biggest and strongest.

I swooped down and morphed back into my human form as we regathered.

Mia: "You guys alright?"

Adrian: "Y-Yes, I'm glad you're okay!"

He hugged me tightly, making me blush a bit.

Yuna: "Great to see you, but we still have a problem"

Lucas: "Yuna, you and I will draw their attention. Adrain, do what you can to support us from afar. Mia and Lily, you go in for the heavy hits. Idril can heal someone if they need it. If you get hit, fall back and let her heal you"

With that, Yuna and Lucas ran in. There had to be at least ten Amazons left, wielding shields and swords. Lucas fired off multiple shots of his shadow guns, which they blocked with their shields while Yuna fired off a few balls of fire, also to be blocked by shields. From behind them, multiple ice shards were fired at them, however they were cut down with their swords.

Luckily, this caused enough of a distraction for Lily to swiftly take out five in a single punch like dominos. Meanwhile, I charged a few of the other Amazons, dodging swords and shields while landing my own hits in with my steel morphed fists. After a few punches, all five of mine were down.

It was only after the adrenaline had wore off that I realized I had a massive gash on my side. I quickly grabbed it to try to stop the bleeding. Idril immediately ran over to me and had me lay down.

Idril: "H-Hold still"

She pulled my shirt off and placed her hands over my wound. Her hands then began to emit a bright green light that washed over the wound. My body was rushed with a warm, comforting feeling. Slowly, the pain subsided completely and my wound was healed as if it was never there.

Yuna: "That's amazing!"

Idril blushed as her elf tail swayed a bit.

Idril: "I-It was nothing"

Mia: "Having a healer like you definitely makes things much easier"

While most of us gathered around to check for injuries, Lucas and Adrian stood off to the side.

Lucas: "Any idea why they attacked us?"

Adrian: "No, we were inside the manga cafe when they just rushed us. We managed to get out thanks to Sky, but we lost track of her"

Lucas: "Damnit... she probably got captured"

Adrian: "Did she? She's strong enough to fight off Ares, how could she get caught?"

Lucas: "Maybe they caught her off guard. No matter how strong you may be, you can be taken down at your most vulnerable"

Lucas turned to us.

Lucas: "We aren't safe here. The Amazons are after us and we won't be able to look for Lucy with them constantly on our ass"

Idril: "And we need to find Sky"

Adrian: "How?"

Lucas: "We lure them into a trap. We know they're coming for us, that gives us the edge"

I tapped Lucas's shoulder.

Mia: "Hey, we need to talk"

Lucas nodded.

Lucas: "Lily, hang back a bit"

Lily: "I won't go too far"

Lucas and I walked away from the group.

Lucas: "What's up?"

Mia: "I... I ran into Seth"

Lucas: "What?!"

Mia: "He's gone, but he gave me some information"

Lucas: "You know you can't trust him!!"

Mia: "I know that! But... he threatened to hurt Mom if I didn't cooperate..."

Lucas's eyes grew sympathetic as he sighed.

Lucas: "What was the information?"

Mia: "That the key to finding Lucy is hidden with the Amazons. She's being held by the enemy school, but we need them to get to her"

Lucas: "Of course we do..."

Mia: "And... he told me to give you this"

I handed him the envelope.

Lucas: "What's this?"

Mia: "No clue, but he said only you could read it. If I tried, he would hurt Mom. I trust you with whatever it is"

He shoved it in his hoodie pocket.

Lucas: "Was that all?"

Mia: "He also said to give Sky a message"

Lucas: "Who happens to be missing, damnit..."

He looked up at me and patted me on the shoulder.

Lucas: "Don't worry, you did good. He could've killed you while you were on your own, but you got information with a very small trade off. Now we're one step closer to finding Lucy"

I smirked.

Mia: "You're being oddly supportive"

Lucas rolled his eyes.

Lucas: "Just trying to cheer up my cousin since you look like shit"

Mia: "Okay, damn, harsh"

Lucas: "I'm serious, you've got bags under your eyes"

Mia: "You do too, yours are worse than mine"

He looked back at the group.

Lucas: "Mia... One of these days, we need to sit down with our parents and talk about what they went through. From the stories I've heard, I don't know how any of them are as happy as they are now. I'm stressed as hell and I don't know how they did it"

Mia: "They were probably like us, scared and confused, but like them, we have something worth fighting for"

He half grinned.

Lucas: "Let's get Lucy back"

Mia: "Hell yeah"

We fist bumped and joined back up with the group.

Sky

When I woke up, I found myself unable to move. I was sitting in a chair with my hands tied behind my back and a blindfold over my eyes.

Sky: "I don't know who did this, but jokes on you, I'm into this shit!!"

I was suddenly smacked across the face, followed by a woman's voice shouting at me.

???: "Be silent! You are in the presence of her majesty!!"

Sky: "Ow! I'm a sucker for pain but that just hurt!"

Suddenly, a booming voice filled the room, however it was surprisingly beautiful sounding.

???: "We know who you are, Scarlet, and we want to know why you are here"

The blindfold was ripped off of my face and I saw a beautiful woman standing before me. I immediately recognized her as the Queen of the Amazons, Andra.

Sky: "O-Oh crap, h-hey Andra, long time no see~..."

Andra: "I'll ignore the fact that you still remember my name after all this time"

Sky: "Don't ignore it, I really missed you. You don't look a day over— uh— a thousand?"

She smacked me across my face again.

Andra: "How did you escape your prison?"

Sky: "Smack me again and I'll talk~"

Andra nodded to one of the Amazons next to her and she pulled out a large knife.

Sky: "O-Okay!! I was summoned back by the Gods to help find a girl named Lucy"

Andra's eyes grew wide.

Andra: "Lucy? You know her?"

Sky: "Not personally, but she's this Lucas kid's sister. He's a real ray of sunshine"

Andra: "You weren't here for this, but your new buddies stole something from us"

Sky: "What was it? Was in that weirdly shaped tube I found in your—"

Andra slammed her boot into my chest and made my chair fall back with me in it. She then stepped on my chest.

Sky: "O-Ow...!! T-This is getting real kinky..!!"

Andra: "They took the one thing that could doom us all!!"

I looked up at her.

Sky: "What do you mean?"

Andra: "The box the Gods had us hold onto contained the key to releasing The Destroyer. And now a group of teenagers have it without knowing what it truly can do"

Sky: "What do you mean? What came out of the box?"

Andra: "Lily did, she's the one who has the power to free The Destroyer and doom us all"

Lucy

I spilled everything to Terran, the exchange of my soul to gain Demigod powers from Seth.

Terran: "Lucy... you didn't..."

Lucy: "I... I did... I'm so sorry..."

Terran: "Don't apologize, you don't have anything to be sorry for"

He held me tightly.

Terran. "You should've told us..."

Lucy: "And what could you guys have done? I'm.. I'm just a mortal..."

Terran: "Just because you don't have any special powers, that doesn't make you less than a Demigod"

He looked me in the eyes.

Terran: "Can I tell you a little secret about pretty much all Demigods?"

Lucy: "What is it?"

Terran: "Demigods often get too dependent on their powers, so much so that when they're unable to use them, they break down and likely die. So... not depending on them can save a Demigod's life"

Lucy: "What's your point?"

Terran: "At the end of the day, Demigods are still partly human. we're not God or mortal, we're the in between. We have the powers of Gods but the mortality of humans. We rely on our powers too much, meanwhile normal humans use their intellect and cunning to stay on the same playing field. I'm not saying humans are smarter, but they have much more potential"

Lucy: "I'm not going to lie, I lost you"

Terran: "My point is, you don't have to have any special powers or abilities to be strong. Humans will keep getting pushed down by all kinds of things, but they'll get right back up. So you need to get right back up and figure out a way to get through this"

Terran blushed.

Terran: "S-Sorry, I rambled, I didn't mean to"

Lucy: "N-No, it's okay. I get it, thank you!"

I pulled him into a huge hug.

Lucy: "Now, we aren't actually going to stay here, are we?"

Terran: "Nope, I don't know what they're planning, but I feel uneasy about that meeting. They helped us, but they're plotting something"

Lucy: "How do we get out? It's only us two and we have no clue where we are"

Terran: "That's why we ask around. It's about lunch time, so let's go eat with our captors"

Terran wheeled me down to a massive pavilion that held at least a hundred benches and tables, all of them almost completely filled with people. Suddenly, a voice called out to us.

???: "Hey!! New girl!! Come here!!"

I looked over and saw the girl in almost all pink waving us down. Her name was Chloe if I remembered correctly. I could also see Sybilla and Kuragari at the table as well.

Lucy: "C-Crap, this is going to be awkward"

Terran: "Why? Kuragari is a real nice guy. Sybilla is the kindest person you'll ever meet too. Chloe may be annoying, but she's good at heart"

Lucy: "You already know them?"

Terran: "I've been here for a month, you know"

Lucy: "And still didn't figure a way out?"

Terran: "I was being heavily watched, and still am, so let's save this topic for when we're in private"

Terran wheeled me over to join them. Their plates had completely different kinds of food. Sybilla had a beautiful chicken salad with some croutons on the side, Kuragari had a simple cheeseburger and fries, while Chloe had a beautiful steak with a single square of butter on top.

Chloe immediately jumped over the table and wrapped her arms around me.

Chloe: "I'm Chloe!!~ it's so nice to meet you!!"

Sybilla waved her hand and a purple aura surrounded Chloe, slowly making her levitate and move away from me.

Chloe: "H-Hey!! Let me down!!"

Sybilla: "After you calm down, the girl's only just come out of the infirmary after a month in a coma"

Chloe: "So? I still wanna talk to the new girl!!"

Kuragari: "Chloe, sit down before you make a mess"

Chloe: "Fine!!"

She pouted and sat down. Terran rolled me over to the head of the table since the sides had benches. He then sat down next to me on a side bench.

Lucy: "Where do you guys get your food?"

Terran: "Oh! Yeah, watch this!"

Terran tapped the center of his plate.

Terran: "Rainbow Trout"

Suddenly, a beautifully grilled rainbow trout formed on his plate, along with utensils.

Lucy: "W-Woah!!"

Chloe: "Amazing, right? You can ask for anything!! Well— not anything. I'm pretty sure you can't ask for something like a human, but—"

Kuragari tossed a small bread roll into Chloe's mouth.

Kuragari: "That's enough of that"

Chloe yelled into the bread.

Lucy: "I wanna try!"

Terran: "What are you in the mood for?"

I tapped the center of my plate.

Lucy: "Chicken Parm Sub"

On the plate, a beautiful chicken parmesan sandwich formed out of thin air. I touched the glass on the table.

Lucy: "Apple Juice"

I know, not the best combination, but it's what I was thirsty for. Just like the food, apple juice filled my glass.

Lucy: "That is so cool!!"

Chloe: "Get used to it, this is your home now! All the food you could ever want!~"

Something about the way she said that bugged me. But I decided to ignore it and try to get some information out of them.

Lucy: "So, what got you three to come here?"

Immediately, Kuragari got defensive.

Kuragari: "I'll stop you right there. I get it, you're new, but that's a kind of question you don't ask around here. I'll just be the first to warn you. People will get pissed if you ask"

Sybilla: "Please don't be too hard on her, she doesn't know our ways and she's mortal"

That immediately ticked me off.

Lucy: "Don't underestimate me because I'm a mortal"

Sybilla immediately puts her hands up.

Sybilla: "S-Sorry! I didn't mean it like that! I meant that you aren't experienced in the ways of the mystic"

Lucy: "I'm not, all of this is still pretty new to me"

Sybilla: "Kuragari isn't the best at explaining, so I'll try to do better"

She set her utensils down.

Sybilla: "Everyone here is a Demigod, well, except you. We strive to bring order to the mystical world and defend what we have at all costs. In fact, we're the first Demigod school. Mytho-Academy quickly followed, however I find it fitting that the first two schools are now the last"

Lucy: "The last two..."

Sybilla: "Is something wrong?"

Lucy: "I've been told about how they were the last two, but why? I know there was a war, but I never knew the details"

Kuragari: "We don't talk about that either. The amount of people you see here now is a fraction of what used to be. And it's all because of Mytho-Academy"

Lucy: "That's not fair! How do you know they're the ones to blame!"

Terran quickly held onto my shoulder.

Terran: "Lucy, try and calm down"

Chloe immediately jumped on me and hugged me, my face getting trapped between her exposed cleavage.

Chloe: "This is so boring! If those two downers won't tell you how they got here, then I will!"

I tried to push her off of me, however she had an iron grip.

Chloe: "I'm the daughter of Ishtar, the Mesopotamian Goddess of Love and War!~ I was sent here when I accidentally seduced everyone in my gym class, and let's just say it was a fun day to be in the girls locker room~"

I blushed hard.

Chloe: "Don't worry, the boys got it too~"

Kuragari immediately appeared behind her and grabbed her by her hood.

Chloe: "H-Hey!"

He looked down at me.

Kuragari: "Everyone here is an outcast. We've been basically kicked out of the natural world due to our abilities. Which is why you don't ask people about it"

Lucy: "S-Sorry, I didn't know"

Sybilla: "It's okay, Lucy. Everyone has their own past and reason for why they're here. Let's appreciate the now rather than the past"

I looked over at Terran and we both shared the same realization. None of these people were bad, I couldn't imagine them doing anything bad to us. So why were we at war with them?

That's a question for later, for now, stick to the plan.

Lucy: "So, just out of curiosity, how do you guys get in here? I just fell from the sky, apparently"

Chloe pointed over to the huge waterfall that led into the valley.

Chloe: "Behind the waterfall, it parts like the Red Sea when people come in, it's so cool!"

Kuragari: "Chloe!!"

Chloe: "What?"

Kuragari: "You don't just tell someone that kind of thing"

Chloe: "Why not?"

He didn't want to say it, but he knew that I wasn't allowed to leave. I could tell he was already onto me.

Kuragari: "Lucy, after this, I need to talk to you in private"

Lucy: "What's up?"

Kuragari: "Later, not now"

You'd think I would've lost my appetite, but I didn't. I absolutely devoured that chicken parm until there was nothing left. Afterwards, Kuragari signaled me to follow him. Terran seemed hesitant, however I reassured him.

Lucy: "I'll be okay, I'm a big girl, I can handle myself"

Terran: "Just be careful"

I rolled after Kuragari until we reached a spot pretty out of the way, just behind a massive tree.

He then turned to me.

Kuragari: "Lucy, I need you to listen to me. I know you want to get back to Mytho-Academy, but hear me out"

Lucy: "Why? I know I'm being targeted, so I should go back to my family"

Kuragari: "You're safer here, and trust me, this is for the better. You being here is the only thing delaying the war between the two schools. They won't attack as long as you're here"

Lucy: "So I'm a hostage?!"

Kuragari: "No! Gods, this is such a drag! Listen, the second you step out of these walls, you'll be flooded with monsters from every direction. Hayu has seen it in her dreams"

Lucy: "I can't just sit here, my Dad's body has been taken over!"

Kuragari: "Lucy... When we can get into a peace meeting with Mytho-Academy, and once the two schools can unite together, we'll find a way to rescue your Dad. But until then, I need you to trust us. You're safe here"

Suddenly, an explosion went off far out in the distance. I could see the smoke rise from one of the mountains surrounding the school.

Kuragari: "Shit!!"

Lucy: "What?!"

Kuragari: "The Destroyer is making his move!!!"
