Chapter 16: Mythical University
Lucy
All that was around me was an empty void, darkness everywhere. I looked down at my body to see I didn't even have one. I was just a floating conscious in an endless abyss.
Am I dead? Is this what it's like to be dead?
I was never that religious, but since I knew the Gods of mythology were real, I thought I would at least go to an afterlife. But simply not existing anymore?
I guess this is my punishment for making a deal with Seth and pretending to be a Demigod. I should've just stayed at home, pretending like nothing happened...
I couldn't even cry, all I had was my guilt and despair filled conscience. Terran is dead... just like Aunt Emiko... And Dad was taken over by Seth...
For a split second, I thought I saw a feint light in the distance. I wanted to reach out to it, but I didn't have a body. I so desperately wanted to go to it, but no matter what I did, I wouldn't move.
I suddenly heard a voice that sounded extremely familiar.
???: "Don't give up, Lucy, not yet"
I couldn't tell who it was, but I noticed that the light was getting brighter. The light was getting closer and closer until it completely overtook the darkness.
I suddenly gasped and shot upright, back in my own body. I was breathing heavy since I wasn't breathing at all when I was just a conscience. My body was aching and my ears were ringing. My eyes couldn't adjust to the light very easily, however all of my senses started to calm down a bit. I could feel that I was in a bed, but that's about all I could get from my senses. That's when I heard a voice next to me.
???: "O-Oh! You're awake! P-Please, try and lay back down. Your injuries have had time to heal, but you still need your rest"
I looked over at who was talking to me and was immediately mystified.
I saw a girl, maybe one or two years older than me. She had gorgeous purplish blue hair that was tied into a ponytail and went all the way down to her feet. She wore a sleeveless tank top with a skirt/dress combo below her waist. She had a blue metal brace on both of her wrists. She wore long dark blue stockings that went up past her knees. She wasn't wearing any shoes, but that's because I noticed she was hovering in the air, like Lily did. She also had pointy ears like Idril, however I could tell she wasn't an elf. Her light purple eyes were like that of an entire galaxy. She also had some kind of pendant around her neck with a white gem inside.
I just stared at her, completely mystified until she spoke again.
???: "May I ask you your name?"
I snapped out of my daze.
Lucy: "L-Lucy"
???: "Lucy, do you remember how you got here?"
Lucy: "I... don't"
The last thing I remember was getting sucked into a portal formed by Seth. But after that, nothing.
???: "My name is Sybilla, and pardon my bluntness, but are you a Demigod?"
Lucy: "You know about Demigods?"
Sybilla: "I am one, silly. Daughter of Brigid, the Goddess of poetry, prophecy, healing, agriculture, and fire"
Lucy: "Brigid? I've never heard of that Goddess"
Sybilla: "Irish Mythology, very few remember the old ways, since Christianity took over. However our set of Gods are still around, as is others"
Other Gods?
Lucy: "Where am I exactly?"
Sybilla: "You are in MU, short for Mythical University. A safe haven where Demigods from all mythology can take refuge"
I was about to speak when a the door to the room swung open.
A girl ran into the room. She was a short girl, maybe a few inches shorter than me. She had long brown hair and hot pink eyes. She wore a pink and white hoodie that she chose to leave unzipped, revealing her bra underneath without a care in the world. She wore a short whitish pink skirt and white heels.
Sybilla: "C-Chloe! You can't just rush in here, especially when I have a patient"
Chloe: "I don't care! I need to show you this!!"
She grabbed Sybilla's arm and dragged her out of the room, leaving me alone.
Lucy: "Uh... okay"
I tried to get out of bed but something stopped my leg from getting out. I lifted the blankets and saw a metal shackle on my ankle, keeping me on the bed.
Lucy: "W-What the"
I looked over at the table next to me and saw my dagger in its sheath.
Lucy: "Maybe if I could grab it..."
???: "I wouldn't try it"
I turned and saw the boy who had attacked us back in Mytho-Academy. The boy who had tried to kidnap me before.
Lucy: "W-What—"
He put his hand up.
Kuragari: "Don't freak out, my job is complete already"
Lucy: "What do you—"
Suddenly, everything clicked. Demigods of different Mythology, a school for Demigods, and now Kuragari in this place, it must be the enemy school!!!
I immediately tried to find a way out of this situation, but I realized that even if I got free, I had no idea where I was. It could be like Mytho-Academy where the only way out is through a portal.
Kuragari: "Jeez, take it easy. We won't hurt you. I only brought you here for your own good"
Lucy: "You brought me here?"
Kuragari: "Technically no, but it was my job to get you here and here you are. You fell out of the sky, not sure why. But in the end, you're here"
He leaned his head back and sighed.
Kuragari: "Gods you guys were annoying. I asked politely and you still fought back. It's not like a blew up a building or anything"
Lucy: "Yes you did!! With my friend inside!!"
Kuragari: "Oh right, my bad"
He pulled out his dagger and began doing tricks like he was twirling a pen.
Kuragari: "Anyways, don't be scared. You're actually safer here than you were at the other school. We have ten times the students you have now and we've been trained way more"
He walked over to me and unlocked my shackle. I was about to ask why he did it, but he spoke before I could.
Kuragari: "Having you shackle free isn't an issue. You wouldn't get twenty feet away after an escape attempt anyways. So just behave and you'll be alright. You can even grab your weapon if you want, I don't mind"
Realizing he was right, I reached over and grabbed my dagger. I hooked it onto my belt and tried to stand up. However the second I did, I felt a sharp pain shoot through my body. I fell back onto the bed.
Kuragari: "You probably haven't recovered enough. It's been about a month, but your injuries are still pretty bad"
Lucy: "A-A month?!!"
Kuragari: "Yep, we've been keeping you alive for a month, though you were in some kind of coma according to Sybilla"
I scowled at him.
Lucy: "Why do you even care?"
Kuragari: "Because I'm human, just like everyone else. We're not some monsters, you know. I'm not sure what that school of yours has been telling you, but hold your judgement until you hear both sides of it"
Lucy: "What do you..."
He ran his fingers through his hair.
Kuragari: "You seriously are slow aren't you... They've probably been telling you that we're out to destroy the school, right? Get justice for what happened all those years ago? That's not even a part of it"
He sighed.
Kuragari: "Sadly, I can't go into too much detail without getting smacked. So I'll keep it at that for now until our leader gets back"
A booming noise crashed through the air.
Kuragari: "You're in luck, she just returned"
Kuragari helped me into a wheelchair and wheeled me out of the room I was in. The light from the sun blinded me instantly, however the second I saw what was outside of that building, my brain almost couldn't comprehend it.
The small house I was in was actually a part of a large town that seemed to be in the center of a valley. All around the town were mountains and waterfalls, almost like walls that secluded us from the rest of the world. Rows of houses, shops, shrines, and other types of buildings filled the valley, with one massive river flowing through the whole town. On the far side of the town, there were fields of crops and animal farms. People walked around with no weapons and raging in ages from elementary school age kids to elderly adults. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun beat down on us. If there was a paradise, this seemed like it.
Lucy: "W-Wow"
Kuragari: "Amazing, right? This is the place you want to destroy"
Lucy: "I... I didn't think this was..."
Kuragari: "It's fine, not much can be done about it now. Let's just get you to our leader"
He wheeled me around town until we reached the largest building in the town. It was almost like the White House, however it was made of some kind of dark wood instead, giving it a more mystical vibe.
Kuragari: "You'll probably recognize her, though you only met for a few seconds"
The doors opened on their own before I could get a change to speak. He wheeled me inside and down a large corridor until we reached what appeared to be the main office. He knocked on the door and shouted.
Kuragari: "Hey! I brought Lucy!"
The doors began opening on their own like at the front entrance. The basic structure of the room was one big circle. The inside looked like an office mixed with a throne room, a large desk in the center of the room with a leather throne just at the desk. However the back of the chair had two large slits in it. The windows were letting in sunlight from outside.
Sitting in the throne was a girl a few years older than me, at least that's what I thought looking at her. She had long, dark green hair that was tied in a bun with flowers. She wore a fancy looking dress that had some kind of scales covering her chest. The things that really stuck out to me were her red and blue heterozygous eyes, as well as the fact that she had literal wings. She had four wings, two smaller than two of the larger ones. One side had yellow and red wings while the other had green and blue.
I immediately recognized her. She helped Kuragari escape from Mytho-Academy when he attacked us. She was the leader?
She spoke in a deeper voice, surprisingly soothing.
???: "Lucy Yukari, I apologize profusely about our last encounter. I did not wish for that to be our first impression"
My great social skills were put to the test that day.
Lucy: "H-Hi"
I failed.
She simply smiled and stood up from her desk. She walked out and stood in front of it, leaning back against it.
???: "My name is Hayu, supervisor and leader of Mythical University"
Lucy: "A-A Demigod?"
Hayu: "Of course, daughter of Kukulkan, the Sky Serpent God of Mayan Mythology"
Lucy: "Mayan?"
Hayu: "You may want to be sitting down for this"
I looked down at myself in the wheelchair.
Hayu: "My apologies, poor choice of words"
She cleared her throat.
Hayu: "Like your own Mytho-Academy, we also possess Demigods that originate from four different mythology. However ours are much different. Mytho-Academy has Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Norse, we have Mayan, Japanese, Celtic, and Mesopotamian, four of many forgotten traditions and legends. Almost no one even remembers we still exist"
She looked out the window.
Hayu: "Our mythology have been forced into submission by others, being forced into the shadows of what humans used to know. However with most of the Demigod schools being gone, we are slowly regaining the power we once held"
Lucy: "That's... nice and all. But why did you people want me? Why did you bring me here?"
Hayu: "Kuragari, go fetch the others. You know who"
He nodded and walked out of the room. Once he was gone, Hayu let out a sigh.
Hayu: "You are being targeted, Lucy"
Lucy: "By who? Seth? I kind of knew that already. Not sure why still"
Hayu: "Whoever may be after you, they are not hunting you for their own reason. They are being commanded to"
Lucy: "By who?"
Hayu: "A being that is capable of creating and destroying all of existence, a being stronger than any God or any Demon. His true name cannot be pronounced by mortal tongue, however it has been called one thing throughout the ages. The Destroyer"
Lucy: "What does this guy want?"
Hayu: "Perhaps he holds some grudge against you, something that your parents caused against him. One of our informants told us that your Father and Aunt prevented The Destroyer from awakening in the past, during the last Demigod War"
Lucy: "An informant?!"
Hayu: "Do not be alarmed, our informant is not a traitor. An informant should be the least of your worries now. You should be focused on the deity who wants you dead"
Lucy: "Why is he going after me then?"
Hayu: "He believes you have something that can defeat him"
Lucy: "Seriously?! He thinks I have something that could threaten him?"
Hayu: "Indeed, and that weapon is hanging on your belt as we speak"
I looked down and realized the only thing I had on was my dagger. I unsheathed it and the blade began to glow a bright blue.
Hayu: "The blade you are holding is the key to defeating The Destroyer"
Something about her story wasn't adding up.
Lucy: "How do you know all of this?"
Hayu: "Everything we know has been given to us in my dreams. Every night, I can hear whispers about what's happening in the universe. Only with the help of a new arrival have we been able to piece it all together"
Lucy: "Who?"
Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me. The second I heard it, I thought I was about to break down crying. I turned around and saw the person I was ready to cry over.
Terran: "H-Hey, Lucy, good to see you"

Lucas
A month has gone by since the fight with Seth and the disappearance of Lucy. I've been using every resource at my disposal to try and track her down, however nothing has been successful. Mom keeps telling me that it isn't healthy to be doing this, but I don't have much choice.
It was a bright morning, my least favorite, and I was walking to the mansion Sky was allowed to live in with Idril. The mansion was on the outskirts of the school, secluded enough that it kept the rest of the school safe from her chaos.
However as I was walking, I passed a bunch of other students along the way. Each one gave me a dirty look or laughed behind my back. I was already the son of Hades, then when word spread of how I let Aunt Emiko die and my father get taken by Seth, I was looked down upon even more.
But I didn't care, I didn't care if they saw me as a monster, I didn't care at all.
Lily: "Quit brooding, you look like a part of a Green Day music video"
Lily levitated above me, hanging upside down so her face was level with mine.
Lucas: "You only heard me listening to Green Day once and you became addicted to it"
Lily: "I'm dressed like a goth, I may as well listen to the right music for it"
She began to hum Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day as we continued.
Finally, we arrived at the mansion. However it was more quiet than I was expecting. I didn't hear anything from the outside.
Lucas: "Weird, it's almost breakfast and not a sound"
Lily: "Maybe they're sleeping in"
Lucas: "Let's take a look"
I opened the front door, making a creaking noise as it swung. Again, no noise.
Lucas: "Something's not right. All of the lights are on"
Lily: "Think there's an intruder in the school?"
Lucas: "Maybe a monster broke in"
I formed my shadow pistols.
Lucas: "Stay close"
She stood on top of my head.
Lily: "So this is what it's like to be tall"
Lucas: "Get off!"
We began clearing room after room, still nothing. We kept going until we reached the finally room, the master bedroom. Probably should've started there, but the place was so big I didn't even know where it was until then.
Lily: "Be careful"
I nodded. I slammed my foot into the door, busting it wide open. I turned into the doorway and held my guns up, ready to open fire.
What the fu—
I only get a quick glimpse of what was inside, however before I turned away, I saw Idril was strapped down to the master bed with leather straps while Sky was sitting on her stomach, both of them completely naked. Thankfully, I didn't pay attention to that detail and just turned away.
Idril: "L-Lucas!! I-It's not what it looks like!!"
Lily poked her head in.
Lily: "Kinky"
Sky: "I know, right~?"
Lucas: "Whenever you two are done, we need to talk"
I slammed the door behind me and sighed.
Lucas: "I'm not sure if I should feel like a jerk for bursting in during their happy time or not, since who the hell would do that kind of thing"
Lily: "I believe it's called bdsm"
I made my guns vanish.
Lucas: "Don't need to know"
I sat in the living room on a leather couch with Lily floating above me like normal when the sound of a door filled the air. Sky came running into the room with Idril, however Idril's hair was a mess and her elf ears had kiss marks on them. Thankfully, they were both dressed this time.
Lily: "I didn't know your relationship got that far already"
Sky: "Of course!~ It's only natural for two people to fall for each other while living together~"
Idril: "I-I'm not sure how true that is—"
Sky wrapped her tail around Idril's, making Idril yelp and blush.
Sky: "She thinks I'm cute, and who doesn't~? I'm fucking adorable~"
I rolled my eyes.
Lucas: "Look, I need your help"
Sky: "Mr. Emo needs my help?"
Lucas: "Don't call me that!"
Idril gently smacked Sky on the back of her head.
Idril: "Behave, or no salmon tonight"
Sky immediately stopped.
Sky: "I-I'll be good"
Lucas: "Thanks. Now I need to ask you a question"
Sky: "What's up?"
Lucas: "Why were you sent to Tartarus? I haven't really had a chance to ask. You kind of left it a mystery before"
Sky: "I can't talk about it"
Lucas: "Why not?"
Sky: "I forgot"
Lucas: "Y-You forgot?!"
Sky: "Yep!~"
She giggled.
Sky: "Is that all you wanted?"
Lucas: "There's something else that's been bugging me. The Gods brought you back to help us, but you haven't done anything"
Sky: "Because there's not much to do! It's not like the Gods have sent me on some mission like you guys were. So whenever they decide to deploy the chaotic evil arsonist, just let me know"
Lily: "What's an arsonist?"
Lucas: "Please do not ask"
Sky teleported behind Lily.
Sky: "You're cute, wanna be a part of my harem~? I have room for a vampire girl~"
Lily: "Harem?"
Sky: "A group of girls that let me do lewd things to them!"
Lucas: "I knew it, this was a waste of time"
I started to get up when Sky put her hand on my shoulder. When I looked up at her, she looked a bit more serious.
Sky: "Sorry, I'll stop. Just tell me what you wanted to"
Lucas: "I'm planning on leaving against the Gods' wishes, and I'll need an expert on screwing with the Gods to help"
She grinned.
Sky: "I don't need any further details, I'm in!!"
Idril: "You're leaving?"
Lucas: "To... find Lucy. She's out there somewhere"
Idril: "She could be anywhere"
Lucas: "I've narrowed it down a lot. She's not in North America because the Gods are already governing it together. It's not anywhere in Europe or Africa. That leaves South America and Asia.
Sky: "What about Antarctica?"
I spoke sarcastically.
Lucas: "I'm sure she'd be in a frozen wasteland"
Idril: "What about Australia?"
Sky: "Definitely not, those people are weird. Just like people from Florida"
Lucas: "And South America is very unlikely, so she has to be somewhere in Asia"
Idril: "That's still a lot of land to cover"
Lucas: "Which is why I won't be doing it alone. I'm gathering the others, and we'll start with Japan"
Sky: "Japan?! I wanna go!!"
Idril: "Why? Do you like it there?"
Sky: "The origin of the best thing to ever exist!! Hentai!!!"
I rolled my eyes and got up.
Lucas: "I know it's not the best plan, but it's a start"
Idril stood up and hugged me from behind.
Idril: "I can tell just by looking at you... you haven't been sleeping..."
Lucas: "Nothing new. I'll sleep better when we get Lucy back"
Idril: "Then I'm going with you"
Lucas: "You sure?"
Idril: "Yes, you didn't have anyone who could heal before. I should be able to help more as that role"
I nodded.
Sky: "And I'll be part of it too!"
Lucas: "Only if you can distract the Gods long enough for us to get away"
Sky: "Annoying Gods~? That's what I do best~ Besides, you know, having se—"
I formed my shadow gun and held it up to her head.
Lucas: "Let me be clear, it's not my place to say this, but if you do anything to hurt Idril, your head will be on the floor"
She grinned while gently rubbing Idril's head.
Sky: "I would never hurt my elf cutie. But it would be cute to see you try~"
