Connor

Connor: "What?! I have to fight him?!"

Skylar: "Nanami chose me to fight, so I will"

Nanami: "Both of you have something to fight for. Neither one of you will back down from this"

Nanami turned towards the spectators.

Nanami: "Today, my fellow Fallen! We will have a great battle between Skylar, the most recent addition to our group of elite former Demigods! And Connor, a new former Demigod who shows much promise!"

I wasn't exactly sure how I showed promise, but I just went along with it. And what did she mean by Elite? Was there a group of Demigods better than everyone else?

Nanami: "The winner of this fight will determine the fate of the two prisoners that were found just beyond our walls"

Her hand lit on fire until it was completely engulfed.

Nanami: "Let Duellum begin!!"

She tossed the fire into the air, which exploded in the sky, signaling the start of the battle.

I was expecting Skylar to run at me, however he just stood there, waiting for me to make my move. I tapped the gem on my ring.

Connor: "Mode One!!"

My ring morphed into the same sword it transformed into back at the blacksmith.

I quickly noticed that there was nothing in Skylar's hands.

Connor: "Um... where's your weapon?"

Skylar: "I'm my own weapon"

Skylar suddenly dashed towards me with incredible speed. He threw a fast punch at me, which I just barley managed to block with the blade of my sword. The impact sent me flying back a little.

Connor: "Holy crap! You're seriously strong!!"

His eyes turned cold.

Skylar: "You have no idea"

He turned his hands into fists and slammed them into the ground, shattering it on impact. He then grabbed a huge boulder from the ground and tossed it right at me, like it was nothing.

Without thinking, I swung my sword at it, and to my surprise, the sword cut the boulder right in half.

Connor: "Mode Two!"

My sword morphed into a long spear. The handle was wrapped in a long blue cloth, which felt incredible in my hands. The blade looked sharp enough to cut or pierce through anything.

Skylar: "Let me guess, Blaze?"

Connor: "How'd you know?"

Skylar: "He's the only person who could've made something of that quality"

Before Skylar could get the chance to attack, I sprinted forwards instead. I thrusted my spear at him multiple times, however he dodged them flawlessly. I still wasn't used to using this thing.

He grabbed the spear by the handle and yanked it right out of my hands. He then kicked me back, making me stumble backwards. I was now weaponless. Luckily, Blaze had told me what to do in a situation like this.

Connor: "Mode Zero!!"

The second I said it, the spear vanished from Skylar's hands and appeared back on my hand as a ring.

Connor: "Mode 3!"

The ring morphed into a large black shield. The shield had golden designs on it. In the center, there was a large blue gem. The shield felt strong, but light.

Skylar: "How many forms does that thing have?"

He launched himself forward, this time, throwing a volley of punches in my direction. I held up my shield and managed to block every attack. It was like the shield had some kind of shock absorption.

Skylar's punches were so strong that I was pushed back and the ground shook from each punch. Suddenly, his volley stopped. His hair covered his face as he tried to catch his breath.

Connor: "Who's child are you? You're seriously powerful"

Skylar's face grew fierce.

Skylar: "Former!! Former child!!! I won't be compared to that Bastard!!!"

His pupils in his eyes went from the normal round pupils to extremely sharp and thin pupils, almost like a wild animal.

Skylar: "I'm the former son of Hercules!!!!"

He threw a deviating punch, and even though I was able to block it with my shield, it still sent me flying far. I landed on my back, feeling seriously dizzy after hitting my head on the ground. I looked forward and saw Skylar walking towards me.

I quickly got to my feet.

Connor: "Mode Four!!"

Connor: "What the—! What the hell is this?!"

Skylar: "You don't know what a Chakram is?"

Skylar didn't give me a chance to respond, because he quickly shot himself towards me. The strength in his legs propelled him forwards with great speed. He threw a powerful punch, which I just barely dodged by a hair.

He then slammed his foot into my side, sending me flying 20 feet away. I managed to get to my feet again.

This thing is useless!!!

I then heard July shout from the bleachers.

July: "Toss it!!!"

Without giving it a second thought, I aimed towards Skylar and tossed it like a frisbee by the handle in the middle. The chakram spun rapidly towards Skylar. He dodged it quickly, however the second the chakram hit the ground, it bounced right off and shot back to me. I grabbed it mid flight and tossed it again. Skylar leaned back just enough to dodge the chakram. Once again, it bounced off of the ground and shot right for him. He jumped into the air, letting go right passed him and towards me. I quickly yelled before it hit me.

Connor: "Mode Five!!!!!"

The chakram morphed into a long pole as it landed in my hand. The handle was made of a strong metal. The end of the pole then morphed into a long blade, turning it into a massive scythe. As I held it, it glowed a bluish purple color. The more I held it, the more powerful I felt. Almost like it was sending power throughout my body.

Connor: "Much better!"

I swung the scythe downwards, sending the blade straight into the ground. It cut through it like butter. The second it pierced the ground, it sent out a massive shockwave of some kind of magic energy towards Skylar. He slammed his foot into the ground, making it split apart. He kicked the ground again, sending a massive boulder out of the ground and in front of him, acting like a shield. The shockwave shattered the boulder, however it left Skylar untouched.

Skylar: "Well damn, that was pretty cool. I guess I can stop holding back"

In the blink of an eye, he vanished from my line of sight. I quickly looked around, trying to find him. Suddenly, I felt an extremely strong kick strike my back, sending me flying forward. It was probably just short of breaking my spine.

I laid on the ground, not being able to stand up. All I could do was look at Skylar.

Skylar: "You definitely have some potential, but you can't beat me yet. You won't beat me. Those traitors need to die for everything they've done to us!!"

I then remembered the look on Angel's face. The look she was giving me, there was no way she could be as bad as they say she is. They were wrong. But the only way to prove it was to fight!!

I tightened my grip on my scythe as I used it to support myself. I got to my feet, just barely managing to keep myself up.

Connor: "This fight isn't just about winning for losing, lives are on the line... And I won't fail them!!"

Skylar: "You're protecting those who have killed many of us!! This is revenge!!"

Connor: "I don't care!! I won't let them die!!!"

I could feel rage surge through my body. The rage of being put in this kind of situation boiled inside me. Not having my memories, being pretty much forced to stay here, fighting a literal Demigod to save two people who may know about my past, all of this fueled the rage inside me. Until finally, it exploded.

A dark, almost blood red energy exploded from my body, then engulfed me. I could feel the power flow through my body, much more than a rush of adrenaline.

When I looked at Skylar, he was staring at something right above me, with terror in his eyes. I looked around, however everyone else was looking above me as well. I finally looked up, and fear quickly took over my body.

The red aura had formed a massive serpent that towered over the entire field. If it wanted, it could swallow the entire school. It was all originating from me. The serpent had black scales that ran down its back. Red scales line it's underbelly, with long sharp bones protruding out of its body. Its fangs were sharp enough to cut deep into the earth flawlessly. Its bright yellow eyes pierced my own, sending a cold chill down my spine.

I quickly looked over at Nanami, who, most surprisingly, also had a look of terror on her face.

Suddenly, I managed to snap out of it. I calmed myself down and took a deep breath.

Connor: "Mode One"

My scythe transformed into its sword form again. I then focused by closing my eyes.

The second I opened them, the giant serpent in the sky started to condense into my sword. The blade glowed a bright red as I felt the energy surge through my arms.

Then, with a single swing, I released all the energy built up at once, creating a massive wave of whatever red energy it was. Just by a hair, it missed Skylar and shot for something behind it. The wave dashed toward the massive mountain just beyond the school grounds. The second they collided, it cut the mountain's top clean off, leaving a stump from where it used to be.

Skylar: "H-How in the Hell...."

Skylar looked panicked.

Skylar: "Y-You could've killed everyone here!!!"

I smirked.

Connor: "Like I said, I'm not letting anyone die"

I would've thought they would end the match there, but nope, not a single person thought that it should end. So I just went along with it.

Connor: "Give up, just let them live"

Skylar clenched his fists. All I could see in his eyes were pure rage.

Skylar: "I'll never forgive those people...!!! They don't deserve our pity!!!"

Skylar dashed towards me with a powerful punch ready to be thrown. By this point, my body was so full of energy I actually dodged the punch. Where the punch missed, it literally punched the air out of that spot.

Skylar: "I'll make sure they all pay!!! They'll suffer for what they did to me!!!!!!!!"

He slammed both of his fists into the ground, actually creating an earthquake throughout the entire school. The ground started to break apart and people started screaming and running.

I held my ground, but only because I was so scared that I couldn't move. For a split second, all I could see in Skylar's eyes were a blood color. His eyes were completely red, like that of blood.

Skylar: "THEY NEED TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!"

I swallowed my fear and steadied my sword. I then dashed forward, with Skylar doing the same. He threw a punch, however I ducked out of the way just in time. I dodged the punch and slashed right into him.

And before you say anything, no, I was not trying to kill him. Before the fight, Nanami had told me that whenever we're on the training grounds, it's physically impossible for us to die. We'll be in writhing pain, sure, but we won't die.

Skylar stood there for a minute as I looked back at him. My cut didn't draw blood, however it cut through his shirt. However, what happened next made me instantly regret it.

I cut into his shirt so bad that it was cut off completely. However... underneath the shirt, I saw a...

Connor: "U-Um... w-why are you wearing a bra...?"

Skylar looked back at me and scowled with murderous intent. But then, Skylar's expression melted and tears started to form. Skylar turned away from me and ran in the opposite direction, leaving me alone in the field.

Connor: "Wait... I-Is Skylar a..."

Nanami: "A girl, yes"

I quickly turned around and saw Nanami looking down at me front directly behind me.

Connor: "But you said she was male"

Nanami: "Skylar asked to be referred to as male, though I do not know why"

My heart ached for Skylar. I felt seriously horrible for what I did. Even though there weren't that many students around, I'm sure a few students saw Skylar.

Nanami: "Well, look on the bright side, you've won"

Connor: "Is it... even a win?"

Nanami: "Skylar has left the field, so yes, you are victorious. The lives of the prisoners are now in your hands"

Nanami turned away.

Nanami: "They will be waiting back at your cabin. They are now your responsibility. If they cause trouble, you'll be the one to blame"

I could hear a little pain in her voice, like she was pissed that she had to let them live. I turned away and started walking back to the cabin. On the way, I ran into July, who'd seen the whole thing.

July: "It's not your fault, it was an accident"

Connor: "I still feel terrible... it was probably a secret he didn't want anyone knowing"

July: "He'll get over it, he's one of the strongest students here"

July wrapped one arm around me, getting a little too close for my liking.

July: "Listen to that heart thump! Someone's all embarrassed!"

I quickly pushed her off of me.

Connor: "S-Shut up!"

July giggled innocently.

July: "You're so shy, that's why it's really fun to mess with you"

We finally reached the cabin, where the second I walked through the door, I was tackled into a hug by Angel. She tackled me so hard that I actually fell over. She laid on top of me, hugging me while crying into my chest.

Angel: "I-I can't believe you're still alive...."

Connor: "I'm... still lost"

???: "So you really don't remember anything"

I looked over at the opposite side of the cabin. There was a girl with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail laying on the ground in front of me. She was wearing a white button up shirt with a black skirt. Her eyes were light blue, almost the color of the sky. She looked familiar, just like Angel, however I couldn't remember.

Before I could even say anything back, July swiftly ran up to the blonde girl. July quickly grabbed the girl's hands and held them tightly.

July: "Oh my god!!! You're Siyuka!! One of the Elite!! And you're really cute and beautiful!!"

Siyuka: "E-Eh?!"

July: "Please be my girlfriend!!"

Siyuka: "W-What?! N-No! I-I don't even know you!!"

Angel finally got off of me, so I could stand up. I then walked over and grabbed July and pulled her off of the blonde girl.

Connor: "Sorry, July's a little hyper"

July completely ignored me and reached her arms out towards the girl.

July: "She's a Goddess!! She has to be!! And she's the good kind of Goddess!!!"

I could actually see July's pupils had turned into hearts as she looked at her.

I quickly grabbed July's handcuffs and cuffed her to a chair in another room, so she couldn't do anything to Siyuka.

July: "This is only a tease that I enjoy!!"

I sighed.

Connor: "So, you two know me?"

Angel: "Yes, we are... really close"

Siyuka smirked.

Siyuka: "You two were dating"

Angel's face burned red.

Angel: "Y-You didn't have to tell him so bluntly!!"

Siyuka walked over to me, which allowed me to see electricity spark in her eyes.

Siyuka: "I'm not sure what you're doing here, but we need to get you out"

Connor: "Why?"

Angel: "These people are dangerous"

Siyuka: "The Fallen can't be trusted"

Angel: "Y-You need to come back home with us, to Mytho-Academy"

Connor: "I'm sorry, but I can't leave yet"

Siyuka: "I get you've lost your memories, but you're still a dumbass...."

Connor: "Look, I don't understand anything that's happening. And based on what everyone here has been saying, you people are the enemy"

Siyuka grabbed me by my shirt collar and held me up.

Siyuka: "You're so fucking stupid!! You were a part of Mytho-Academy, and you've been dead for a year!!"

Connor: "Dead? I'm alive! I'm standing here in front of you! You're lying"

I managed to get free of her grasp.

Angel: "We're telling the truth. You helped save the world, but you died in the process"

Connor: "So how am I here right now?"

Angel: "I... don't know..."

I walked over and sat down on the couch.

Connor: "When I found out that you two may know about my past, I was hoping I would remember something. But I don't, and I'm not sure who I can trust...."

Angel sat down next to me and placed her hand on mine.

Angel: "Even if you don't trust me, I'll stay by your side forever"

Just her voice alone made my heart melt. She felt so familiar, but I just couldn't remember.

Connor: "So... were we really... you know..."

Siyuka sat down on the chair across from us.

Siyuka: "Oh definitely. You and Angel have been seriously close since you two met"

I could feel my face grow warm. I had a girlfriend and I couldn't even remember. Or.... are they even telling me the truth? Are they just lying?

Suddenly, July came sprinting out of the room she was tied up in and went straight for Siyuka. She tried to hug Siyuka, however she caught July and threw her onto the couch next to me and Angel, without even breaking a sweat.

When July regained her composure, she stared at Siyuka.

July: "You're so strong too! You threw me like it was nothing!"

Connor: "July, calm down for a bit, please"

July: "You're no fun!"

July then lost her smile.

July: "I overheard what you were talking about"

She turned to Angel.

July: "Why do you fight for the Gods? They're cruel and manipulative"

Angel: "No they're not, well... most of them aren't"

Siyuka: "I only fight for them because Apophis, your previous leader, wanted to destroy the world, which included the Fallen as well, so I left"

Siyuka's eyes sparked.

Siyuka: "Yeah, my dad's a bitch, but I'd rather put up with that bastard than die in darkness. Though I have to admit, it was nice being an Elite.

July: "You're still considered part of the Elite, however your role is being replaced soon"

Siyuka sat up.

Siyuka: "By who?!"

Connor: "A boy named Skylar, son of— sorry, former son of Hercules"

Siyuka: "You know, I could easily take him down"

Connor: "Who's your God parent?"

Siyuka: "Though I don't like to admit it, Jupiter, the God of Lightning, Sky, and the Heavens"

Connor: "Angel, what about you?"

Angel: "Hades is my father"

Connor: "Woah, that's cool! Do you know who I'm the child of?"

Angel and Siyuka went silent.

Angel: "We... never found out"

Connor: "Damn... okay, well, I'll figure out eventually"

I looked out the window, up to the huge hill that was near the cabins. I then saw Skylar was sitting at the top of the hill, by himself.

Connor: "Hey, I'll be back. I need to go check on something"

I walked out of the cabin and towards the hill. I made my way up the hill, eventually reaching the top. There was a wooden bench, where Skylar was already sitting.

Connor: "Hey, I'm sorry about what happened... I didn't mean to—"

Skylar: "Shut up.... just... come sit next to me... I need to tell you something"

I walked over and sat down onto the bench.

Skylar: "You're probably wondering why I have everyone refer to myself as male when I'm actually a girl..."

Connor: "If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to"

Skylar: "You deserve an explanation"

Skylar managed a small grin.

Skylar: "And I want to make you feel guilty, so we're both feeling horrible"

Connor: "I already do, but go on"

Skylar: "As you know, my father was Hercules, the Roman God of Strength. And... being a daughter of a strength god... didn't sit well with my mom and god father. My mom wanted a boy, so when she saw I was a girl, I was neglected. She said I was a boy and to stop acting like a girl"

Tears formed on his face.

Skylar: "I tried asking Hercules for help when I finally met him, but he just ignored me, saying that he would never give birth to someone who was a girl, he only had strong male children"

Skylar wiped his tears away with his sleeve.

Skylar: "So, with a mom who forces you to be male, and your father who doesn't even consider you his, I decided I should just give in. I cut my hair shorter, I stopped wearing girl clothing, everything. But... all I want is to be who I am..."

Rage filled my body. I knew something bad happened to her where the gods were responsible. But this?!

Connor: "Then be who you want. Don't let others define you, only you can decide that"

Skylar looked up at me.

Connor: "So what if everyone wants you to be male? They can't force that on you. The only person who decides who or what you are is yourself. You control your life and destiny, only you. So if you want to stay male, then stay male. If you want to be female, then be female. If you want to be in between, then you can do that. Be who you want to be"

Skylar reached over and gave me a big hug.

Skylar: "You're so annoying, but... thank you..."

Skylar let go of me, blushing a little bit.

Connor: "So, what should I refer to you as?"

Skylar: "Female, I'm going to try being a girl again"

Connor: "Oh, also, sorry for seeing your bra..."

Skylar punched me on the arm.

Skylar: "I'll get you back one of these days"

I laughed.

Connor: "I'd like to see you try"

After Skylar decided to go back to her cabin, I did the same and went back to mine. The second I got back, I was pulled back onto the couch by Angel, where she snuggled up next to me.

Honestly, I was a little weirded out, not because of her, but because I didn't even know her. I mean, I guess I did know her, but at the moment, I had no idea who she was. So it would like cuddling with a complete stranger.

July was trying to give Siyuka another hug, however Siyuka was jumping around the house, avoiding her.

Siyuka: "'No! I won't be your girlfriend!!"

July: "You will!! Because the readers want it!!"

They continued running around the cabin.

Angel: "Connor, can I ask you something?"

Connor: "Sure, what is it?"

Angel: "Do you remember anything? Anything at all?"

Connor: "No, but you and Siyuka did seem really familiar"

Angel smiled.

Angel: "That's good enough. At least you still remember how much you love me, your heart is racing"

My face burned red, making Angel giggle.

Angel: "It's so good to have you back"

She rested her head on my chest, and soon fell asleep. I looked down at her sleeping face and smiled.

Even if I can't remember what happened to me in the past, I'm sure it was amazing, since I had her with me.

I soon fell asleep too, cuddling with Angel on the couch.

I awoke inside a dream where I was surrounded by sand. However the sand on the ground was red, almost like blood. There was an ocean directly in front of me, however the ocean was pitch black. That definitely wasn't right.

Suddenly, I heard a deep, echoing voice.

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock

I started walking around, hoping to find something. As I walked, the same voice kept echoing in my head.

Tick Tock Tick Tock

As I walked, the voice got louder and louder. I started running, hoping to get away from the voice. However it just grew louder.

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK TICK TOCK

I ran for what felt like hours. I finally stopped and fell to the ground out of exhaustion. When I looked up, I was back where I started.

Then, something massive emerged from the black sea. It was a massive serpent that blocked out the red sun in the sky. His body was so big that it was towering hundreds of feet over me. Pitch black scales ran down its back, while blood red scales lined its underside. Bones protruded out of its sides, almost like boney wings. Spikes lined its body, ending on a single spike on the tip of its tail. It's fangs glistened in the red sunlight that remained. It's yellow eyes stared deep into me, like knives were being jabbed into my soul.

Apophis: "We meet again, my son"
