Emiko

I felt completely useless at this point. Connor and Nanami were clashing not only swords, but their own Apophis and Satan avatars. Himari, Angel and I were just hanging back, not knowing what to do. It seemed the only match for her was Connor, but even he looked overwhelmed.

A stray ball of hellfire shot towards us, however Angel struck the ball with her soul spear, destroying it on impact.

Emiko: "When I see an opening, I'm going to try and fire another arrow. She'll be distracted, try and find a blind spot"

Angel: "Right"

Himari: "What about me?"

Emiko: "Keep any stray hellfire off of us, we can't afford to get hurt now"

Himari: "A kiss on the cheek would help me do better~"

I rolled my eyes and sighed. I quickly pecked her on the cheek, my face covered in pink.

Emiko: "There, now cover us"

Himari: "On it, cute stuff"

Multiple stray balls of fire shot towards us. Using her bracelet chains like a whip, she swung them in all directions, cutting through each fireball. Meanwhile, I had an arrow drawn, just looking for an opening.

Connor was getting tired, I could tell. His movements were getting slower. It would only be a matter of time before he was overwhelmed. Finally, just as Nanami went in for a thrust of her sword, there was an opening. I fired the arrow straight at her elbow, hitting it dead on.

Nanami: "AHH!! You wretch!!!"

While she was distracted, Angel formed out of Nanami's shadow, piercing her shoulder with her soul spear. However Angel was in her berserk mode, so the thrust of her spear had so much power behind it that it actually sent her flying into the air.

I fired off another arrow, and at the same time, Angel tossed her spear. They would've clashed with Nanami, however she held her hand out and they were turned in mid air, shooting right back at us. We managed to dodge it, but just barely.

Emiko: "Damnit! How do we fight someone who can transform, create hellfire, and literally warp reality!?!"

Nanami crashed back onto the ground in a vortex of hellfire. She glared at us, however I wasn't even sure if she was still Nanami. The look she gave me, it wasn't human.

Nanami: "DIE!!!"

The ground beneath us started to crumble. The wall of the school was falling, at least our part. Himari transformed into a hawk and grabbed onto my shoulders, carrying me into the sky. Angel faded into the shadows while Connor and Nanami continued to fight in free fall. Connor pushed her back into the wall. As she fell, her back ran along the shattering wall, definitely doing some damage.

She then formed a massive ball made of hellfire, almost the size of a car. She was about to throw it right at Connor.

Emiko: "Himari! Let me go!"

Himari: "Seriously?!"

Emiko: "Just do it!!"

Himari released me from her talons, making me go into free fall as well. I pulled back on an arrow, aiming right at the fireball.

Emiko: "I call upon the power of Sobek! Oh ruler of the Nile, lend me the waters of your domain to protect my allies!!!"

The arrow on my bow transformed into a water arrow. I fired it straight at the fireball. The second it collided, I expected it to put the fire out. However the fire instantly vaporized it. Almost like it was alive, the fireball changed direction from Connor to me. I fired off another water arrow, however it was vaporized just as fast as the first.

Emiko: "Oh crap!!"

Right before the hellfire could burn me alive, an extremely powerful blast of some kind of red energy destroyed it. From a small shadow of where the wall had crumbled a little, I could see Angel's upper half poking out. Her palm was smoking a little with the souls she'd just fired off. She had used a soul blast to destroy the hellfire.

Right before Connor and I could hit the ground, our own shadows swallowed us up. It then pushed us back out, completely unscathed, thanks to Angel. Wish I could say something different about Nanami.

She was perfectly fine, she'd just fallen from a seriously high drop and she didn't even have a scratch. Angel formed right next to Connor and Himari landed next to me, transforming out of her hawk form.

Connor: "Thanks Angel, I owe you one"

Angel: "I-It was nothing"

Even in the heat of battle, Angel was blushing at Connor's words.

Nanami: "Why won't you just die?!?!"

She let loose an explosion of pure hellfire from the palm of her hands. Connor slashed his sword, sending a powerful wave of chaos energy towards it. However the second they clashed, the explosion only grew bigger. We were then caught right in the blast radius.

When I opened my eyes, the ground around me was on fire. Angel and Himari were on the ground, alive, but seriously hurt. Connor was being help up by Nanami, who held Connor up by his neck.

Emiko: "C-Connor...!"

He didn't have any more energy left, his limbed went numb. He wasn't even struggling.

Nanami: "You had a good run, Yukari, I'll give you that. I was serious when I offered for you to join me. So I'll give you one last chance"

Connor didn't react in the slightest. I started to fear that he was actually dead.

Nanami: "Oh well, guess I broke him sooner than I wanted to, what a pity"

Emiko: "H-Hey!!! L-Let go of him...!!"

Nanami looked down at me, a disgusted look on her face.

Nanami: "You really are a glutton for punishment, aren't you?"

She held her hand out towards me. I was expecting a ball of hellfire to be shot at me, however my vision suddenly went black. When I was able to see again, I was in a castle. It looked pretty fancy, however something was off about it. There were many people running around, trying to get stuff done, like clean or cook. At a closer look, they were all girls, about my age. At least, they looked my age.

Then, I heard a nightmarish voice behind me, one I never thought I'd hear again.

???: "Welcome home, my bride~"

I turned around and saw the God that frightened me the most. I was face to face with Seth, the God I was tricked into marrying after my death.

He looked down at me with his cruel white eyes.

Seth: "Don't get too excited, this isn't my real domain. My real home is something the mortal body wouldn't be able to survive in"

Emiko: "T-This is an illusion..."

Fear washed over my body.

Seth: "I was right to pick you as my bride, you're smarter than you look. And you're extremely beautiful too..."

Seth reached out to touch my cheek, however I managed enough courage to step back and slapped his hand away. Seth's face grew wild with rage.

Seth: "If you ever think of doing that when you're actually in my realm, I will make sure you get sent to the dungeon for a ten centuries!!!! Constant torture would make you beg for death, even when you're already dead!!!"

I took a deep breath, not letting the fear control me. I pushed it back to the farthest point in my mind, so it would never take control again.

Emiko: "Say what you want, but it won't happen. I'll stop you before you even get the chance to invite me inside. You'll be dead before I will!!!"

Seth grinned, then extremely slowly, he broke out into a chuckle. Then a laugh, which grew more and more psychotic.

Seth: "It'll be amusing having you around. Since you entertained me so much, I'll give you a little hint"

Seth disappeared. I then heard his voice from behind me.

Seth: "A HINT OF YOUR DEATH!!!!!!!"

I was then impaled right through my chest by his hand, his claws poking out of the front of my body.

The illusion faded, and I was back to reality.

Nanami held her sword up to Connor, pointing the tip right onto Connor's chest. I used all of my strength to get myself standing, however my legs felt extremely numb.

I'm not going to lose him!! Not again!!

I muttered to myself.

Emiko: "One last time... please... just one more... that's all I ask"

I focused harder than I ever have in my entire life. I reached into the deepest parts of my soul. And when I finally reached it, my body flooded with energy.

More like exploded...

A powerful wave of arcane erupted from my body, making Nanami drop Connor and her sword. My body was now enveloped in arcane. I couldn't find my bow, so I drew my dagger, the one thing that could force The Destroyer out of Nanami. I just needed one clean hit and the battle was won.

Some of the arcane from my body transferred over to my dagger, extending the blade to a small, one handed sword. Then, I charged straight ahead.

Strike after strike, swing after swing, Nanami dodged every attack, but only barely. I felt so powerful that I could do anything, even win this war for us. My strikes just got faster and faster. Then, I gave it one powerful swing, sending off a wave of pure arcane towards Nanami. She physically caught it with her hands and crushed it, however it did graze her cheek.

Nanami: "A good try, but even your Arcane Gate isn't a match for me!"

I could feel my power start to slowly fade away.

Emiko: "C-Crap... I probably used at least 90% of my Arcane Gate in that..."

Nanami: "90%? That was 90%? Pathetic, I guess that means you're running low on energy. Looks like victory is mine"

I smirked, almost letting out a chuckle.

Nanami: "What's so funny?"

I looked up at her.

Emiko: "Who said 100% was my limit?"

My body erupted with an even more powerful explosion of arcane. It was almost too much for my body to handle, but I managed to hold on. At the same time, Connor stood up, his body covered in chaos energy.

Connor: "Thanks for holding her off, I needed a minute to recover"

Emiko: "Yeah right, I was in it to win"

Connor: "Well, since we're the last two standing, guess we should take her on together"

Connor smiled at me, and I did the same.

Emiko: "Sounds good, just try not to die on me again"

Nanami: "You fools!!! Don't you realize it's too late!?! This world is over!!! You've lost!!!"

Without a word, Connor and I rushed Nanami at the same time. She used her telekinesis to bring her katana back to her, so she could block our swords. As she blocked mine, Connor went for a side strike. Nanami quickly pushed my sword away and just barely blocked Connor's. We went for a simultaneous strike, however Nanami parried Connor's and blocked mine at almost the same time.

She launched her own volley of slashes, which Connor and I just barely managed to block. The two of us got back, getting some distance between us and Nanami.

Connor: "We're the last two standing, we're the only ones who can stop her. Let's give this everything we've got!!!!"

Connor raised his sword into the air, concentrating all of his chaos energy into the blade. I did the same, however my dagger became completely covered in arcane. Nanami held her sword at her side as it lit with hellfire.

Nanami: "This is it!!! This is the excitement I've been waiting for!!!! Make this battle one I'll remember for the rest of time!!!!!!"

Connor went in first, clashing chaos energy with hellfire. Creating a smokescreen so thick that even Nanami couldn't see through it. Then, I heard it.

Connor: "Emiko!! Now!!!"

I rushed in, right as Nanami leaped out of the smoke cloud. Her sword had completely shattered, and there was no way she could block this. I screamed at the top of my lungs as I drove the dagger right through Nanami's shoulder.

An explosion of absolute darkness erupted from Nanami. It was so powerful that it sent both me and Connor flying back. Beneath Nanami, the ground split open. A huge ravine formed right behind her. The darkness that erupted from her body plummeted down into the ravine. My dagger had disintegrated into a fine blue mist, vanishing completely.

Then, everything was quiet.

The sky had turned back to normal, the sun shined down on the battlefield, filling me with a joy I never thought I'd get to experience.

We had won.

Nanami was still conscious, surprisingly. However she didn't have any energy left to stand, let alone fight. A few feet away from her, Skylar sat in the ground, still in complete shock of what just happened. Then, she got up and quickly ran towards Nanami. I was about to stop her when Connor held his arm out to prevent me from doing so. Skylar fell to the ground, right as she reached Nanami's side. She then held her in her arms.

Skylar: "Nanami! Come on! Say something!!"

Nanami was obviously breathing, but her eyes were closed. She finally opened them, and the second she saw Skylar, she started crying.

Nanami: "S-Skylar.... I-I...."

Skylar pulled Nanami into a huge hug, not letting her go. The two of them cried into each other, and I couldn't help but smile.

One by one, our friends joined us. First was Himari and Angel, who woke up not even a minute after the fight ended. Second was Kaito, Idril, and Frostine. Kaito looked a little beat up, but other than that, they were fine. Siyuka and July appeared last, appearing in a flash of lightning. They looked the worst, their clothes torn and a little burned. But at least they were alive.

Angel rushed towards Connor and tackled him into a hug, making them fall over. Angel kissed Connor while they were on the ground. I decided not to tease them, they earned it.

Then, Himari tried the same. I instead grabbed her before she could grab me. I then pressed my lips onto hers, making her blush. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't blushing too, but I didn't care. Himari was actually close to crying.

Himari: "I'm so happy you're still with me"

Emiko: "It takes a lot more to kill me. Besides, how could I leave the best girl in the world by herself?"

Siyuka limped over, being helped by July to stay standing.

Siyuka: "Nice try, but July's the best girl"

July: "Y-You finally admit it?!"

Siyuka blushed, and I thought she was about to slap July. But instead, she just kissed her.

Siyuka: "Of course, you idiot"

Suddenly, there was an explosion near the main entrance to the school. The wall had collapsed as a monster came bursting through it. It had the body of a dragon, covered in black scales. It had wings twice as big as it's body, maybe even more. It's head was nothing short of demonic, with horns protruding on either side. It had a long tail with a large spike on the end of it.

However, that's just what it looked like when I first looked at it. As time went on, it's features changed constantly, so it never stayed in one true form.

Emiko: "What is that?!?!"

Kaito: "That's Typhon!! The king of all monsters!!!"

As I scanned the battlefield, every single monster was killed except for this one. Typhon was the last monster we'd have to kill. But in our current state, it was impossible.

Suddenly, a loud roar filled the air around us. Then, from just beyond the walls, a large serpent lunged at Typhon, biting right into its side.

Himari: "Jormungandr!!!"

And you'd never guess who was riding on its back. I saw a man wielding a mace in one hand and a beer in the other, his beard looking better than ever.

Barak: "FOR VALHALLA!!!!!!!!!!"

Jormungandr tightened its grasp on Typhon and tossed it in the air. While in mid air, Jormungandr lunged upwards. Infusing Jormungandr with lightning, he was able to pierce  Typhon right through its heart. In a puff of red dust, Typhon disintegrated. Jormungandr landed on the ground. It then reared its head into the sky and let out a triumphant roar, shaking the earth.

Then, out of the silence after the roar, Nanami let out a scream of pain, holding her side. Idril quickly ran over to Nanami and Skylar.

Idril: "H-Hold still, let me heal you"

Nanami looked completely shocked.

Nanami: "W-What the...? Why do you want to heal me?"

Idril: "You'll die with your wounds, I can't just leave you like this"

Nanami: "I... I should die... Just leave me alone..."

Idril: "No, just let me heal—"

Nanami suddenly yelled, surprising even Skylar.

Nanami: "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!! LET ME DIE!!!! I DESERVE IT!!!!!"

Idril: "No one deserves to die, no matter what they've done"

Nanami: "If I was your old master, Driam, would you still say the same thing?"

Idril: "Of course, he may have tortured me my entire life, but he was still a person, just like you. There were times when he was nice to me, he was extremely strict, and very cruel, but he was still capable of good. I know you are too"

Nanami: "What do you know?!! I'm a child of the literal Devil!!! I only exist to hurt and be hated by everyone around me!!"

Connor slowly approached Nanami and knelt down right next to Idril.

Connor: "I know what it's like, I'm the child of a demon too. I don't know what you went through in the last round of life, but I know it was torture for you"

Connor took her hand.

Connor: "But just because your parents are something everyone hates, it doesn't stop you from being someone better, someone people can love. Something I've had to learn throughout my entire life as a demigod is to not let your heritage define you. My dad is a literal demon snake, can't get much worse than that"

Nanami: "I.... Why do you even care.... After everything I've done... why don't you want me dead....?"

I walked over as well.

Emiko: "Everyone deserves a second chance"

Connor: "You too, Skylar"

Skylar looked up at Connor, practically crying still.

Connor: "So please, let us help. I know the Gods have wronged you, and I know your past is affecting your future, but you can forget about all of that and start over. Hell, join Mytho-Academy, I'm sure you'd fit in perfectly"

Suddenly, a loud, booming voice filled the air.

???: "That would be impossible"
