Connor

W-What..... what is this....?

Darkness was all I could see around me. I couldn't move my body, I couldn't even breathe. I then realized I didn't even have a body. I was just a consciousness floating in an empty abyss.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of me. In that light was a girl with long black hair and dark, almost silver eyes. She was wearing a black shirt with a purple heart in the center. She wore a black skirt, as well as a black ring of some kind of black mist above her head. She looked into my eyes deeply, however I had no idea who this person was. It felt like I was supposed to remember, but I just couldn't.

She then spoke in a voice that sounded so familiar.

???: "Connor, please come home. I miss you"

Her eyes suddenly turned a bright yellow. The new yellow eyes looked scaly, almost like a serpent. Then, from behind her, a massive snake formed out of the darkness. I couldn't remember why, but for some reason, I wanted to kill that snake so badly. The snake slithered closer and closer until it was a few feet away from me. It then opened its giant mouth and swallowed me whole.

I awoke with a jolt, sitting right up. My head hurt and my vision was blurry. My body felt cold and weak, like I'd been lying here for days.

The second I sat up, I could hear a few gasps around me. All I could see was that I was wearing a white T-Shirt and dark blue jeans. There was also a small pendant around my neck. My vision slowly fixed itself, but I seriously wish it didn't. All around me, were a bunch of people wearing white lab coats. However, I could also tell they were wearing some kind of hazmat suit underneath.

The second my mind was able to process this, I started freaking out.

Connor: "W-What the?!?!"

I quickly got down off of the table I was on and limped towards the exit, somehow outrunning the people in lab coats. I left the room, which looking back on it, looked a lot like a surgery room. I ran down a large hallway, not taking any time to look back. Alarms were blaring loudly as flashing red lights filled the hallway. I saw a giant doorway, which I assumed was the exit. I sprinted towards it, hoping to escape from wherever I was. However the second I ran outside, I was instantly blinded by the sunlight.

When my eyes adjusted, I couldn't even believe what I was looking at. I felt like I was in a complete other world. I was in the middle of a giant plain, with cabins and old style buildings all over the place. Surrounding all of this, was one giant wall that had to be at least 100 feet high. The thing that disturbed me the most was the fact there was animals walking around, and the people didn't seem to care. Everyone around was either wearing armor or had weapons on them, like spears and swords. However the second the people around saw me, everyone froze and stared at me.

Suddenly, I felt something grab me from behind and slam me into the ground. I felt someone pin me down, and no matter how much I struggled, I couldn't get free.

Connor: "Let go of me!!!"

I heard the voice of whoever was pinning me down.

???: "I need you to calm down"

Connor: "I'm not going to f*cking calm down!! I don't know where I am!! I don't even know who the hell I am!!!!"

???: "If you don't calm down, I'll have to knock you out!"

I felt rage surge through my entire body.

Connor: "I SAID LET GO!!!!!!!!"

A giant shockwave of some kind of red energy exploded from my body, sending the person on top of me flying back.

I quickly turned around to see who was pinning me down. The person had tan skin with messy, light brown hair. They also had chocolate eyes. They wore a red hoodie with a yellow star in the center. They also wore gray pants and white sneakers. Despite looking right at them, I couldn't tell what gender they were.

???: "W-What the..."

Connor: "L-Leave me alone!!"

I quickly got up and ran down the street, with not a single person trying to stop me. I kept running until I reached the giant walls that surrounded the place. I saw the main gate and ran for it. However before I could reach it, the same person fell out of the sky and landed in front of me, stopping me in my tracks.

Connor: "H-How the hell!!?"

???: "Connor, I need you to calm down"

Connor: "Is that my name...?"

They smiled at me warmly.

???: "Yeah, it is. My name is Skylar, and you're Connor Yukari. I understand you're scared, but you need to trust me"

They held their hand out to me, however I still didn't trust them.

Connor: "Why should I?"

Skylar: "Because if you don't, they're going to kill you"

Connor: "Who's they?!"

I could tell they were losing their patience.

Skylar: "For the love of— just come with me!"

They grabbed my hand with an iron grip and dragged me back into the more densely populated area of this place. As we walked through what looked like a town, pretty much everyone was staring at me. We continued walking until we reached a giant building. It had a pretty cozy feeling to it, since it was made out of bricks and wood. I quickly realized this building was at the very center of the town.

Skylar: "Whatever you do, don't piss the Principle off"

Connor: "What do you—"

Skylar suddenly dragged me inside after opening the door. The two of us walked down a long corridor until we reached another door. However this one was heavily fortified. Skylar opened it, and I saw it had to be at least 10 inches (25mm) thick. Behind this door, was something I definitely wasn't expecting.

What I thought would be a principal's office, was instead a giant apartment. And not a cheap one either, this was 5 star level.

One thing did seriously bother me though. Down in one of the other rooms, I saw what looked like a dungeon, with a bunch of restraining devices and torture tools. This made me break out into a cold sweat.

However the room directly in front of us looked more like a throne room. On the center of the back wall, there was a throne made of gold with red padding. The throne was on top of a slope, so it was actually higher up than we were. There was also a person sitting in the throne.

The girl was maybe 2-3 years older than me, even though I had no clue what my real age was. She was about 5-6 inches taller too. She had long, bluish purple hair that almost went down to her ankles. She wore a pink sweater with a grey skirt. She had some kind of scarf or padding over her shoulders. She wore a white and pink hat on her head, the type you'd see a dictator wear, which only made me more nervous. She was also holding a long katana, with a light blue blade. She glared down at me with her bright pink eyes.

There was something off about her, but I couldn't place my finger on it. She suddenly stood up, with her sword in hand, and started walking down to us. Skylar quickly got down on they're knee and bowed their head. I probably should've done the same, however I wasn't thinking straight. The girl suddenly spoke in a somewhat deep voice, for a girl anyways.

???: "Connor Yukari, I'm glad to see you've finally awoken"

Connor: "I'm sorry, who are you?"

???: "My name is Nanami, and I am the Principal of this school. Well... I'm the one with the most power here"

I clenched my fists.

Connor: "What the hell am I doing here? And why can't I remember anything?"

Nanami smiled.

Nanami: "All will be revealed in time. For now, please, make yourself at home"

Nanami went into turn around. I quickly grabbed her wrist, preventing her from turning more.

Connor: "Answers, now"

Skylar: "Dumbass!! What are you doing!! Let go of her!!"

Nanami: "It's quite alright. He has every right to be on edge"

She looked me in the eyes, and for whatever reason, looking into her eyes made me feel seriously weak and inferior to her, for some reason.

Nanami: "Please, follow me this way. I will tell you everything I know"

She looked over at Skylar.

Nanami: "Thank you, young man. Please wait outside, this will not take too long"

Finally, I didn't have to keep questioning Skylar's gender. He quickly stood up.

Skylar: "Thank you, Principal Nanami"

Skylar stepped outside, leaving me alone with Nanami. She started walking down the hall, making me follow her. She noticed I was glancing at the room filled with the torture devices, however she simply giggled.

Nanami: "Don't be nervous. That's just where I deal with students who need a little... discipline..."

The hair on the back of my neck stood up. Nanami giggled a little more after seeing my reaction.

Nanami: "I'm kidding, I would never harm a student, unless they asked for it, of course"

Something about that line made me a little uneasy. However I ignored it until we reached a massive dining room. There was even a freaking chandelier on the ceiling!! How the hell all this managed to fit inside the building, I don't know. This place was much bigger than the building it was supposed to be in.

Nanami sat down at the head of the table, meanwhile I kept standing, not trusting her at first.

Nanami: "Please, sit"

Connor: "I'll stand, thanks"

I didn't bother with anything else. I got right to asking the big questions.

Connor: "Where specifically am I?"

Nanami: "You are in Camp-Mythos"

Connor: "What do you mean by Mythos?"

Nanami: "This is a school, or camp, for Demigods and Demidemons, those who have either God or Demon blood, in addition to mortal blood flowing through their veins"

Connor: "Demigods? Seriously? You expect me to believe Demigods are real?"

Nanami showed no reaction.

Nanami: "Demigods are very real, you in fact, are a Demigod yourself"

I was in complete disbelief. This was such a big lie!!

Connor: "You're crazy, I never should've trusted you. I'm out of here"

Before I could turn away, Nanami held her hand out. She then waved it over the table. Two cups of warm tea formed out of thin air, one in front of Nanami and one right in front of the chair to her left.

Connor: "W-What the—"

Nanami: "Need a little more proof?"

She held her hand out again, however this time, the air in her palm ignited into a ball of pure red fire.

I actually stepped back a little out of fear. I mean, she literally formed a fire ball!!

Connor: "Okay... Assuming Demigods are real, and that I'm one of them, why am I here? Besides being a Demigod, like, how did I get here?"

Nanami: "Please sit down, you'll want to be seated when I tell you. Besides, you should drink your tea"

I cautiously sat down, making sure not to take my eyes off of her.

Connor: "Thanks, but I'm not a big fan of tea"

Nanami: "If I were to poison you, I had multiple opportunities to kill you"

I spoke sarcastically.

Connor: "Yeah, not creepy at all"

I took a sip from the cup, expecting some horrible tea. However it tasted absolutely nothing like tea. Instead, it tasted like something strangely familiar. I couldn't lay my finger on it, but the taste was something I enjoyed a lot.

Connor: "Woah! What is this?"

Nanami: "This drink is known as Chih, a very special drink given to us by a different set of Gods. The taste of the drink however is different depending on the drinker. In your case, you tasted your favorite flavor in all the world"

Connor: "Okay... but why can't I remember—"

Stupid question...

Nanami: "In any case, drinking that has proven you have God blood flowing through your veins. Mortals who drink it will instantly result in their deaths, it's like a fast working poison"

I had enough of this chat.

Connor: "Enough with all this. Tell me why the hell I'm here and why I can't remember anything"

Nanami paused for a second, like she was choosing her words carefully.

Nanami: "You first arrived a few days ago, passed out in front of our main gates. Only Demigods are able to find this place, so we were able to confirm you were one. We had you down in the lab, keeping you alive. You were in some kind of deep coma, one we could not wake you from"

Connor: "Okay... but how did I end up there?"

Nanami: "That's what I was hoping you would know. You are the only person who knows that. Or, knew that"

Connor: "Speaking of, why can't I remember anything either?"

Nanami: "Perhaps it is a result of your coma. Or maybe it has something to do with how you ended up here. I apologize for not having more information"

I was freaking out a little, not going to lie. I had no idea what to do, and I wasn't sure if I could actually trust everyone here. I hit the side of my head, hoping to jog my memory, however all that I got was a sore head.

Connor: "What should I do now?"

Nanami: "For now, I suggest you stay here, with us. Camp-Mythos will welcome you with open arms. It is also the only safe place for miles. We are fairly isolated from society. And in that barren wasteland, there are monsters that could kill any unprepared Demigod"

She fixated her eyes on me.

Nanami: "Which is why I find it curious that you've shown up so suddenly, alone"

Connor: "I have no idea, I wish I did"

Nanami placed her hand on mine, trying to comfort me. I may have even blushed a tiny bit. However I quickly pulled my hand away.

Nanami: "I understand you do not fully trust me. And you're wise to have doubt. However you will not survive if you leave. Your only option is to stay with us"

I took a deep breath and rubbed my eyes, trying to think of another thing I could do. However I couldn't think of anything.

Connor: "Alright, fine"

Nanami smiled kindly.

Nanami: "Thank you for deciding to stay with us. I will make sure your stay here is comfortable"

Connor: "What exactly happens at this camp?"

Nanami: "I'll have Skylar explain everything about camp. He's a natural at giving tours"

Nanami waved her hand and a microphone formed in her hand.

Nanami: "Skylar Viribus, please report to my office"

Within about a minute, Skylar came walking through the doorway.

Skylar: "You called?"

Nanami: "I want you to take Connor here to his Cabin, he will be staying with  you know who"

I noticed a small twinkle in Skylar's eyes.

Skylar: "Consider it done"

Nanami turned to face me.

Nanami: "Skylar will be your guide for the time you are here. He will be your superior, so do as he says"

Connor: "Right"

At this point, I was just going along with whatever they were saying. My options were seriously limited.

I got up from my chair, ready to leave the building. However before I could go, Nanami stepped in front of me.

Nanami: "For right now, you are a guest. But do anything stupid and you'll end up in my torture chamber"

Not exactly sure how I feel about that line...

Connor: "Uh... sure...?"

Nanami: "I look forward to seeing you again, Connor Yukari"

Skylar grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the building. He then made me follow him down the street of the town we were in. Or, I guess this was one big school. The entire time we were walking, Skylar was extremely quiet.

Connor: "So... what's it like here?"

Skylar paused for a second, then started talking.

Skylar: "Extremely boring after a while. I've been here for almost five years. And during that time I haven't been outside these walls once. Well... I was out on one mission, but that didn't go so well"

I didn't really know how to respond to that, so we just kept walking.

Connor: "I can't believe Demigods are real..."

Skylar: "They're real, alright. Some of them are seriously annoying though"

I looked around, hoping to see something like magic or someone controlling the elements. However I didn't see anything like that.

Connor: "If the Demigods are here, are the Gods also here?"

Skylar stopped dead in his tracks.

Skylar: "We don't talk about the Gods here"

Connor: "Why not? They're technically fam—"

Skylar turned grabbed me by my shirt collar.

Skylar: "We don't talk about them here!!!"

Connor: "O-Okay! I won't talk about them anymore"

Skylar sighed and released me.

Skylar: "Sorry... Just try not to mention them around me"

He then turned and continued walking down the street, with me following shortly behind.

We kept walking until we reached a giant open plain. There had to be hundreds of cabins all lined up. About 15 rows in and Skylar turned to his right.

Skylar: "There she is, Cabin 16. This'll be your new home for a bit"

When I first saw it, I thought I was seeing things. It was a beautiful log cabin, something that would be seriously expensive to rent out. And I had this entire thing to myself?!?!

Connor: "I-Is that whole thing for me?"

Skylar: "No, you have a roommate. But... just keep an open mind when you go in there"

Oh yeah, way to make me nervous.

I walked up the steps that led to the front door. I placed my hand on the door knob and opened it. I stepped inside and gasped in awe.

Connor: "Holy crap!!"

Suddenly, I heard a shout from the second floor.

???: "Hey! What are you doing in here?!"

I looked up to see a girl, which was probably around whatever age I was. She had chocolate colored skin with raven black hair. She wore black and yellow boots on her feet. She also wore a black skirt and a... can I even call that a shirt?!

The first thing that really caught my attention was her eyes. One eye was a dark purple, while the other was a bright orange. The second thing that caught my attention, which.... I was a little concerned about... was the fact she was holding a pair of pink metal handcuffs.

Connor: "Sorry to bother you, but Skylar and Nanami said I'd be staying here. I'll leave if you don't want—"

She suddenly jumped down off the second floor balcony, landing right in front of me. She then squealed like a fangirl.

???: "I can't believe I have a roommate!! I'm so excited!!!"

She jumped up and brought me into a big hug.

???: "My name is July! It's pronounced Julie. But people keep thinking it's pronounced like the month, for whatever reason. Anyways! I'm really glad to have you here!!"

Jesus Christ! She's hyper!

Connor: "Thanks for having me. I'll try not to be a burden to you"

July: "Don't worry about it! It gets lonely here, so I'm glad I have someone to talk to"

I turned around and saw Skylar wave to me before closing the front door, leaving me alone with July.

July: "Are you okay? Your face is all red"

Connor: "Y-You're still hugging me"

July: "Oops! Sorry!"

She quickly let go of me.

July: "Anyways... Make yourself at home. Let me know if you need anything"

Connor: "Thanks"

I wandered around the cabin, still in complete awe. This place was amazing.

A couple minutes later, I met back up with July. She was relaxing on one of the leather couches, playing on her phone. She was playing some game called Genshin Impact.

Connor: "Hey, July, mind if I ask you a few questions?"

July: "Sure!"

I sat down in the chair next to her.

Connor: "First off, what's with the handcuffs? You've been holding them since I got here"

July: "Oh! These?"

July held up the pair of pink handcuffs.

July: "They're my magical weapon. Every Demigod has a weapon that works especially well for them"

She put one of the cuffs onto her wrist, while leaving the other one dangling from her. Suddenly, the cuff that was dangling started changing. It was like metal being burned down and molded. Soon, it was a long metal spike on the end. The chain connecting them started to grow longer and longer.

Connor: "Woah!! That's cool! I want one!!"

July: "You'll get one soon. But this weapon works very good for me"

Connor: "Why?"

July: "Because of my blood. I'm the child of two demigods, instead of a mortal and a god. 50% of my blood is mortal, 25% is from Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love, and 25% is from Ra, the Egyptian God of the Sun"

Suddenly, the spike end of the chain lit on fire. However it was more of a yellowish flame.

July: "I can somewhat manipulate fire, with the powers I got from my Ra blood. However Aphrodite's blood also gives me some perks"

Connor: "Like what?"

July: "I can read emotions, even manipulate them to an extent"

Connor: "How so?"

July: "Want me to show you~?"

Both of her eyes turned bright pink. Suddenly, my whole body started feeling extremely weak, almost like I was feeling super inferior. Suddenly, July jumped up and placed her handcuffs on me. She then held them above my head.

July: "Like that~"

Not going to lie, my face was pretty red.

Connor: "O-Okay, I get it. Can you take these off?"

July: "Fine, you're no fun"

July took the handcuffs off of me as her eyes went back to the normal purple and orange.

July: "We're alone together in a cabin, a boy and a girl, you were even handcuffed, then you ask to make it stop. You're definitely weird"

Connor: "Says the person who just handcuffs people..."

I cleared my throat.

Connor: "Skylar didn't seem to like the Gods. Why didn't he like them?"

July's smile went down slightly.

July: "There are many schools like ours, however we're one of the few who don't worship the Gods. Everyone here has been hurt by the Gods, or have been hurt because of something related to them. So while, yes, we are Demigods, we don't see our godly parents as our actual family. So something probably happened to him"

Connor: "Damn..."

July: "It's okay, we're all one big family here. We're all here for each other, no matter what happens"

Connor: "So... what else should I know about this school?"

July: "Oh right! This is probably important. So, unlike the rest of the schools, who just sit there and listen to the Gods, like a pet to its master, we try to fight them"

Connor: "Why would you fight them?!"

July: "The Gods are cruel and evil. They're the reason for everyone's suffering. For that reason, this school was formed. We won't let the Gods ruin anyone else's lives"

July showed me a tattoo on her forearm.

July: "We won't let our lives be controlled by false Gods. We will be free from their tyranny. We are.... The Fallen"

Also, I just wanna talk about a new character.

July is based on a very close friend of mine, and I promised them I'd put a character of them into my story! She will have a role to play, she won't just be a side character.
