Emiko

Yeah, I already don't like this teacher.

History was boring enough, and I could hardly remember all the names. Now I had to beat this guy just to pass the class? Seriously?!

Emiko: "I really have to fight you on my first day?!"

Ares: "Of course not, you're not ready to fight me yet. However you will face off against another student"

Emiko: "Fine... who is it?"

Ares scanned the class, then locked his eyes on someone near the back.

Ares: "Siyuka! Get your ass over here!"

Siyuka?! Was she out of the infirmary?

Sure enough, after a few seconds, Siyuka emerged from the crowd, with two other students to her left and right. Both of them looked just a year younger than me, and both were shorter than Siyuka. The one to her left was a girl with white hair, while the one to her right was also a girl, but with red hair. However I quickly caught on to something about the girls. The two with Siyuka had some kind of collar around their necks, which almost looked magical. Siyuka scowled at me, with her typical bratty expression.

Siyuka: "You're not worth my time"

Emiko: "Yeah, whatever, question for you. What's with the collars?!"

Siyuka rolled her eyes as the two girls behind her blushed a tiny bit.

Siyuka: "These two are my servants, they lost in Duellum, so they're now my loyal slaves"

Emiko: "Yeah... but that doesn't explain the dog collars. Are you some kind of domiatrix?"

Siyuka: "Dumbass!! They're obedience collars. If one of them act up or defy me, the collars give them a little shock"

Emiko: "That's just cruel!! How can the school allow that!!"

Ares: "Once the blood deal is made, the loser must follow through with the deal, unless a new deal is made. Even the gods can't break it"

This wasn't right. I knew Siyuka was a brat, but this is just awful!

Emiko: "Then let's make a blood deal here. No Duellum, just a sparing match. If I win, you release them from their deal. However, if you win, I'll become a servant too"

Siyuka seemed a little surprised by my offer.

Siyuka: "You're just writing your own fate. It's obvious I'll win"

Emiko: "Then how about we make it a double battle? You and a partner of your choice vs me and a partner of my choice"

Siyuka: "Normally, I'd decline. But I can never pass up the chance to put a b*tch in her place"

I smirked.

Emiko: "Such language. Maybe if your skills were as good as your mouth, you wouldn't have lost to my brother"

The rest of the students started to laugh a little.

Siyuka: "That was a fluke and everyone knows it!"

Emiko: "Sure, sure, blame your own stupidity on someone else. Admit it, you bit off more than you could chew and lost"

Siyuka: "You little... fine!! I accept your challenge!!"

Siyuka held her hand out, while I held mine out. We then grabbed each other's hands, making the same black symbol appear on the back of our hands.

Ares took of his helmet, to reveal a pretty handsome face with short red hair. His eyes glowed red, like the blood on a battlefield. He then grinned like he was about to watch a slaughter.

Ares: "Hurry up and choose your partner! I can't wait for this!"

Siyuka snapped her fingers.

Siyuka: "Abby, get over here now"

???: "Y-Yes Princess!"

The girl with white hair quickly walked up to Siyuka and stood next to her.

Emiko: "Wow, you really have them call you Princess? You already have the biggest ego I've seen. You don't need much more"

Siyuka: "Shut up!! Just say who do you pick"

I actually had to consider my options. Normally, I would've asked Connor to back me up. However I knew Connor wouldn't be able to go into that form again like last time. There was only one other person I knew who would actually help.

Emiko: "Hey, Kaito, wanna join in?"

Kaito: "It would be my pleasure"

Siyuka: "You chose water boy? That was a mistake"

Emiko: "Oh shut it, blondie! No one asked your for your opinion!"

Siyuka: "Whatever, let's just do this already. The sooner we get this done, the sooner I'll have a new chair"

Emiko: "Tone it down on the dominatrix thing"

Siyuka: "I'm not a f*cking—!!"

Ares: "Enough!! The four of you, onto the arena"

All four of us stepped onto the arena, with Siyuka and Abby on one side, and me and Kaito on the other. Siyuka pulled her long metal pole off her back, while Abby drew her Roman Gladius. I drew my bow and Kaito readied his big sword.

Ares: "Though this is not Duellum, I want you all to go at each other like you're ready to kill!"

Siyuka: "If I could, I definitely would"

Ares slammed his sword against his shield, signaling the beginning of the battle.

First off, Abby dashed towards me. She swung her sword downwards, however Kaito quickly stepped in and blocked the attack.

Kaito: "I'll handle close combat! You stay back and cover me"

Emiko: "Right!"

I moved to the edge of the arena, so I could get better shots off. Kaito and Abby clashed swords for a bit, however Kaito seemed to have the upper hand. The sword was just too heavy for Abby to block completely.

I pulled back the string of my bow, however I just remembered I didn't have any arrows. I was about to freak out when I noticed something start to form on the bow. An arrow made of some light blue energy formed onto it. I quickly aimed at Siyuka, making sure she was distracted by Kaito and Abby. I shot the arrow, which for the first time ever shooting one, was pretty dead on.

Siyuka quickly noticed and broke the arrow in two by swinging her pole at it. The arrow faded into a fine blue mist.

Siyuka: "Just like your brother, you always make the first move"

Emiko: "And just like with Connor, you can't see what's behind you"

Siyuka quickly turned around, however nothing was there. She quickly turned back to me and scowled.

Emiko: "HA!! You actually fell for it!!"

Siyuka: "You b*tch!!"

I quickly fired off another arrow, which Siyuka broke in half once again. However on my next shot, I thought of being able to shoot 10 arrows. And sure enough, 10 arrows appeared on the bow. I fired them all at once, making Siyuka hesitate a little. She quickly dodged them, realizing she couldn't block them.

She looked back over to Abby, who was already on the ground, out cold. Siyuka screamed at Abby's unconscious body.

Siyuka: "You worthless piece of trash!!!"

Kaito ran up to me, with Abby's sword in his hand.

Kaito: "Don't worry, she's fine. I just knocked her out"

Kaito held Abby's sword out to me.

Kaito: "This is probably gonna turn into a close quarters fight. You may want this"

Emiko: "I think I'll stick with the bow. I'm not very good with hand to hand"

Kaito set the sword down.

Kaito: "How should we do this?"

Siyuka stared us down with what looked like murderous intent. Her body started to spark with electricity. The clouds above us started to go grey.

Siyuka: "I don't care if this is just a sparing match!! I'm going to end you!!"

Siyuka formed a ball of pure lightning in her hand. She then thrusted her hand towards us, shooting the ball at us. I quickly drew my bow and shot an arrow at the ball. When they collided, it created a small explosion.

Kaito: "Hey! This is a sparing match! No powers!!"

Siyuka: "F*ck the rules!!"

Kaito: "Fine, you wanna play dirty!"

Kaito put his sword on his back and raised his hand towards the sky. I then saw some of the clouds start to form into a funnel, right above Kaito. The clouds then turned into water, right there in the sky. The water then shot down towards Kaito, stopping right when it reached his hand.

Emiko: "D-Did you just do that?!"

The water collected was about the size of a school bus. Kaito slammed his hand onto the ground, which made the water disperse all over the ground. The entire arena was covered in water.

Kaito: "Try using your powers now!"

At that moment, I realized what he did. He put water on the ground, so that if Siyuka tried using her lightning powers, she'd get shocked too.

Emiko: "Now that she's powerless, let's—"

I was cut off when we saw Siyuka dash towards us. She swung her pole at Kaito, which he was easily able to block. She then pulled a dagger out from her skirt pocket and drove it into Kaito's side. Kaito screamed out in pain.

Kaito: "AHHHH!!!!"

He then fell to the ground.

Emiko: "KAITO!!!"

I quickly shot off multiple arrows at Siyuka, which she managed to dodge. However in doing so, she was out of the way. I ran over to Kaito, freaking the hell out. Based on what the gods here said, we can't die while in the school. But it looked like he was really going to die.

Emiko: "Someone help him!!!"

I heard Ares, just beyond the boundaries of the arena.

Ares: "He won't die, but he's probably wishing he was dead"

I looked down at Kaito, realizing how helpless I was. He'd been carrying this entire battle, meanwhile all I did was fire off some pointless arrows. I couldn't help myself from crying.

Emiko: "I-I'm sorry...."

I then heard Kaito's weak voice.

Kaito: "Don't be..."

Kaito struggled to speak.

Kaito: "Don't worry about me... j-just kick her ass..."

Emiko: "I-I can't just leave you like this, you're suffering"

Kaito: "Heh.... what else is new..."

In that moment, time slowed down. Everything around me was slowed down so much, it was almost frozen. Suddenly, it felt like something just clicked in my mind. Like something I was supposed to know, and long forgot about, just appeared back in my memory.

I placed my hands on Kaito's wound, making him flinch. Blood covered my hands, however it didn't bother me in the slightest. I closed my eyes, followed by a strange warm feeling, surging throughout my body. When I opened my eyes and moved my hands away, Kaito's wound was completely healed, it didn't even have a scar.

Kaito: "W-What the"

I stood up and held my hand out to him. He grabbed my hand and I helped him stand.

Kaito: "D-Did you just...?"

Emiko: "Let's leave it at, it was a fluke. Now let's finish this"

Siyuka stepped back a little.

Siyuka: "H-How the f*ck!? Stay down!!!"

Emiko: "What's wrong? You were so confident before"

Siyuka's body started to spark. She then gave us a confident grin.

Siyuka: "One of the benefits of using lightning, is that it can take on other forms as well"

Emiko: "What do you...."

Suddenly, her body started to radiate a very strong heat. It was hot enough to evaporate the water on the arena!

I then realized she was using the electricity in her body to create heat, almost like a heater.

Kaito: "Oh crap!!"

Siyuka pointed her pole to the sky, as the gray clouds swirled above her.

Siyuka: "Surrender now and I may just let you walk out of this without any electric burns"

Kaito held up his sword and I raised my bow. We came this far, we weren't backing down now.

Siyuka: "Fine! Don't say I didn't warn you!!"

The sky started to spark with electricity. However the lightning didn't look normal. The bolts were a blood red. I swear, for a split second, I could see a hint of yellow in Siyuka's normally sky blue eyes.

Siyuka was about to swing her pole down when Ares yelled from off the arena.

Ares: "That's enough!! Match is over!!"

The clouds faded and Siyuka lowered her pole.

Siyuka: "See, what did I tell you? You'd lose! Now I have a new b*tch. I wonder what I'll make you do..."

Ares stepped onto the arena.

Ares: "I declare Emiko and Kaito the winners"

The rest of the class started cheering as Siyuka started screaming at Ares.

Siyuka: "Are you kidding me?! I was about to win until you stopped the match!!"

Ares looked down at her with flames in his eyes. No, I'm not kidding, literal flames. These small balls of flame replaced his eyes.

Ares: "You know you're forbidden to use that technique. You swore to never use it, only in the most dying circumstances"

Siyuka: "Even so, I could've beaten them!!"

Ares: "Your partner was already taken out, and has already been sent to the infirmary. The class is about to end, and the numbers say you lost. 1 vs 2. If I let the battle continue, you would've lost"

Siyuka: "Screw you!!"

Siyuka stepped off the stage and yelled towards her other servant.

Siyuka: "Let's go! Don't keep we waiting!"

However the girl didn't move an inch. The collar that was originally around her neck fell off of her neck, hitting the ground. The girl then quickly stomped on the collar, running off the training grounds soon after. Siyuka glared at me, ready to try and land a blow. However she noticed Ares was watching her, preventing her from making any moves. She then walked passed me, with her hair covering her face. Right as she was passing me, she looked at me with a weird look in her eyes. Her left eye was the same sky blue, however her right eye had a hint of yellow.

Siyuka: "I'll get you for this... I'll make sure you pay... all of you...."

She then walked away from the training grounds, leaving the rest of us in silence. All of a sudden, the rest of the students bursted into a cheer. They all crowded around me and Kaito.

I'm not going to lie, the attention was nice. After years of being ignored by everyone, except for Dad and Connor, it was really breathtaking.

The bell rang, signaling class was over. The rest of the students walked away, while Connor made his way to me.

Connor: "Guess we're both popular now"

Emiko: "Hardly, Kaito did all the work"

Kaito: "After your freaking healed me! That was amazing!!"

Emiko: "I don't even know how I did it. It was like... something just clicked in my mind"

Kaito: "You're getting closer to revealing your godly heritage. First, you discover your powers. Second, you try and master them. Third, once mastered, the god parent will claim you as their own"

Connor: "How many gods can heal?"

Kaito: "A decent amount, but you've cut down your possible choices by about 70%, which is a great feat"

Emiko: "Well... I'm not sure how I can master it. But it's only the first day. I'll worry about it later"

Kaito: "What class do you two have next?"

Connor and I both pulled out of schedules, however both of us had to take a double take.

Connor: "Mine just says Free Time for the rest of the day"

Emiko: "Same here"

Kaito: "Well damn, you two got seriously lucky. That's actually the correct schedule. So you only have 2 classes for a while"

Emiko: "When you guys said we'd have easy classes, I didn't think you meant this"

Kaito: "Well, it's what you have. I wouldn't be complaining"

Connor: "So... what? We just go do whatever we want?"

Kaito: "Pretty much. If you wanna just go back to your dorm, have at it. Wanna see a teacher, go for it. Wanna go to the school's store, it's all yours"

Emiko: "I may head to the store then. We'll need some new clothes"

I turned to Connor.

Emiko: "What about you?"

Connor: "I think I'll go see Aphrodite, she said she needed to see me after school was over"

I just sighed.

Emiko: "Please for the love of god, please don't do anything stupid with the goddess of love"

Connor: "Meh, not my type. Too old for me"

Hello!! So... some of you may have seen on my Message Board that I'm currently wearing a splint on my right index finger.

I accidentally cut my finger with a knife, and I have to wear this for the next 2 weeks. It really affects how well I text, so I can't write these stories very well right now.

I had this chapter saved up, just in case something like this happened.

So this may be my last upload for a while.

I'll do what I can to write, but not guarantees.

I hope you all enjoyed, and I'll see you all next time, hopefully when I'm feeling better!
