Connor

What did we just get ourselves into? This morning, we were normal teens, late for school. Now, we're being told that we're demigods, and I somehow released a giant serpent from the underworld. Yeah, not my best day.

We were dismissed from the courtroom, since me and my sister were too freaked out by everything to come up with more questions. As we left the courtroom, we saw Kaito, Angel, and Himari were all waiting outside for us.

Kaito: "How'd it go?"

Emiko: "I... don't really know"

Himari: "I know, it's a lot to take in"

Connor: "Yeah, I think we should go"

I started walking past them, however Kaito put his arm out to stop me.

Kaito: "You can't leave, the second you freed that beast, you endangered all of existence. And Apophis isn't thankful to its savior. Once you leave this place, it'll do everything it can to make sure you're dead"

Emiko: "So, what? We have to stay here forever?"

Angel: "W-Well... only until Apophis is sealed away again"

Angel walked over to me and took my hand.

Angel: "It's not as bad here as you may think. Come on, I'll show you around"

Angel then dragged me off, leaving Emiko with Himari and Kaito. I wasn't sure why, but I felt this girl was a little clingy. She's been really close to me ever since we met. It was a little weird at first, but after all that happened, I thought she just wanted to make sure I was okay. Or, that's what I hoped.

She brought me out of the main building, however there was only one thing in front of us. It was a very long pathway, and at the end of it, was a giant pantheon, the same I'd seen when we first arrived.

Angel: "Welcome to the Greek wing of the school"

Connor: "Greek?"

Angel: "Oh, I probably have to explain a little"

Angel tugged on my hand, forcing me to walk down the long pathway with her.

Angel: "I'm pretty sure Headmaster Ra has told you already, but this is a school for Demigods. However there are multiple types of them. And this school holds the four major types of Demigods. Can you guess which four?"

Connor: "Well, you mentioned Greek, and since Ra is here, Egyptian must also be here"

Angel: "That's right! How about the other two?"

Connor: "Well, I saw Jupiter, and I think that's Roman"

Angel: "Yep, even though Greek and Roman mythology are very similar, they're different in many ways as well. In reality, they are two separate sets of gods, even though they're similar"

Connor: "So what about Demigods that appear in both?"

Angel: "Well, you are probably thinking of someone like Heracles, or as the Romans called him, Hercules. They were actually the same person, however depending on the mythology, he may have acted or behaved differently. For that reason, he was split in two, kind of like two different personalities. One Greek, one Roman"

Connor: "How does something like that even happen?"

Angel: "When you've been here long enough, you'll realize a lot of stuff is possible, even things that may seem ridicules. Anyways, do you know the 4th mythology?"

Connor: "I saw Odin, so Norse?"

Angel: "Yep! While there is Mayan, African, Chinese, and many other mythology, these 4 are the most well known. The more well known a mythology is, the more powerful the gods and demigods of that mythology"

Connor: "You must've been here a long time to figure all this out"

Angel: "Oh, you'll have classes here to teach you all of those things"

Connor: "Of course..."

Angel: "As for how long I've been here..."

I noticed Angel's slowly turn dark, almost looking dead.

Angel: "I've been here my entire life, I was born here"

Crap, that's horrible!!!

Connor: "Oh god, I'm sorry"

Angel's eyes quickly went back to normal and she smiled.

Angel: "Oh, it's not a bad thing. This school is my home, even if not everyone likes me"

Connor: "Who here wouldn't like you? You seem really nice"

Angel's face grew a little red as she looked away shyly.

Angel: "T-Thank you... b-but making friends here isn't based on being nice or kind. This school has a bit of a hierarchy. Those who are more powerful are treated better, while some of the weaker Demigods are treated worse"

Connor: "That's not right"

Angel: "Well, there's not much we can do about it. Demigods are very competitive"

Connor: "Speaking of, who are you the child of?"

Angel scratched the side of her head a little.

Angel: "Well... I-It's a little weird... and people usually avoid me because of it"

Connor: "You can tell me"

Angel: "Okay, well... I'm the daughter of... H-Hades..."

Connor: "Oh cool! He's one of the 3 main gods in Greek mythology"

Angel: "Even though he is, his children are looked down upon, since having someone who could raise the dead in the same school as someone who can give life makes things a little weird"

Connor: "I wonder who I'm the child of"

Angel: "You'll find out sooner or later, everyone does"

We finally reached the pantheon, which was huge. From a distance, it looked small, however this was about the size of 16 football fields put together.

Connor: "And.... what is this?"

Angel: "It's the main living quarters and training area for the Greek Demigods"

Connor: "So, every single demigod that ever existed lives in here?"

Angel: "No, only the ones who live in this lifetime. However, no disrespect for the gods, but they tend to mate a lot"

Connor: "Yeah, but this seems a little overkill"

Angel: "Well, it also has our living spaces"

Angel brought me inside the pantheon. The inside had walls made of marble and a wooden floor. There was a big map on the wall to the left of the entrance. From what I could see, there were 4 sections in this place.

The first was the training area, which had a bunch of subsections. Next to it, was the relaxing area, which was also divided into sections. There was even a bathhouse, a freaking bathhouse!!!

The last 2 sections were labeled Dormitories. The one on the left was for the male Demigods, while the ones on the right were for the female Demigods. However it looked like each set of dormitories was divided by gods. So you'd be put in a certain area depending on who you were the child of.

Angel: "This pantheon has been my home for a really long time, and I love it here"

Connor: "Are the other buildings like this one?"

Angel: "Well, the Roman one is like ours, however it's much more clean and, I'll quote the Roman demigods, 'superior'"

Connor: "They sound annoying"

Angel: "Not all of them are bad, it's just they get the better treatment here"

Angel grabbed my hand again.

Angel: "It would take all day to show you this building, so let's go look at the others"

Angel brought me back to the main building, which was a long walk. As we walked through the main building, I saw more and more students walking around. Suddenly, something went flying over my head. When I looked forward, it was a long spear.

Connor: "W-What the?!"

I suddenly heard a teacher yell.

Teacher: "WHO THREW THAT?!?! NO SPEAR THROWING UNTIL AFTER 6!!!!"

Connor: "I'm in a nut house"

Angel: "Don't worry, as long as you're in the school, you can't die. Through physical means anyway"

Connor: "How is that even—"

Angel cut me off.

Angel: "Just leave it at the gods can pretty much make anything happen"

Me, being an idiot, wasn't looking where I was going, since I was trying to keep an eye out for more flying spears. I suddenly collided with something in front of me. I fell back, hitting my back on the floor. When I looked in front of me, I saw a girl with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail laying on the ground in front of me. She was wearing a white button up shirt with a black skirt. Her eyes were light blue, almost the color of the sky.

I quickly got up and saw there was a bunch of books on the floor, which I assumed were hers. I quickly started to pick them up.

Connor: "Crap, I'm sorry! Are you okay?"

I suddenly noticed 2 things. One, Angel had a frightened look on her face, like she was imagining my funeral. Two, the blonde girl was looking at me with disgust.

???: "How dare you!!"

She snatched the books from my hand and grabbed the rest of them.

???: "You filthy pig! How dare you run into me!!"

Connor: "Woah! Calm down, it was an accident"

???: "Do you have any idea who I am? I'm the daughter of Jupiter, Siyuka. The single most important and strongest Demigod in this school. And you have the audacity to knock me over in the central building?!"

Connor: "Look, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to"

Angel: "P-Please, it was an accident, don't yell at him"

Siyuka looked over at Angel, and suddenly grew a smug, superior expression.

Siyuka: "Oh look, it's the walking corpse. Get out of my face, I shouldn't have to look at an ugly rotting piece of flesh"

Angel's eyes looked dead again, however her eyes were also filled with fear.

Siyuka: "Did I f*cking stutter?!"

Siyuka raised her hand like she was about to slap Angel. I quickly grabbed her arm.

Connor: "I suggest you shut the hell up and apologize"

Siyuka: "Who the hell do you think you are?! Grabbing my hand, you insolent worm!!"

Connor: "I said apologize! If you're really the top student here, you should act like it"

Siyuka retracted her arm. She then grew a sinister grin.

Siyuka: "Ah, I see now. You must be new here. No one who's been here for more than a week would even try talking to me. Well let me make things clear for you. I am better than you, I'm better than all of you, I'm the god among Demigods"

Connor: "A god among Demigods? You're more demon than god"

Siyuka: "You know what you little ingrate?! I challenge you to Duellum!!"

Connor: "Um... what?"

Angel: "I-It's a challenge. Duellum is a battle between two Demigods over a conflict. The winner gets to decide the outcome of the conflict"

Siyuka: "Very good, I guess even a corpse can learn something like that"

Connor: "Shut up!!"

Siyuka: "If you want me to apologize, you have to beat me in Duellum. If you win, I'll apologize and acknowledge you as a superior"

Connor: "And if you win?"

Siyuka: "You'll be my personal servant. You'll do everything I say, no matter what it is"

Connor: "What kind of hentai situation are you trying to pull?!"

Siyuka: "F*cking unbelievable... I mean you'll do whatever peasant things I'm supposed to do. Like do my chores, clean the training equipment, and even do my school work"

Connor: "How about we make this more interesting?"

Siyuka: "How so?"

Connor: "I lose, my life is yours. You can do anything you want with me. However if I win, you'll have to do the same"

Siyuka: "What a pathetic attempt to act tough. But fine, I'll accept your terms"

Siyuka held her hand out.

Connor: "What are you doing?"

Siyuka: "We have to make a blood deal. This way, we can't back out"

Angel: "Connor, don't—"

Siyuka snapped.

Siyuka: "I said disappear!!! Fade away into the depths of Tartarus just like your mother!!!"

Okay, that's it!!!!

I grabbed Siyuka's hand. The second I did that, a black symbol appeared on the back of my right hand.

I looked at Siyuka's right hand, and the symbol was also in the back of her hand as well.

Siyuka: "There, now later today at 8, we'll meet in the coliseum. I'll make sure the whole school is there to watch you get your ass beat. See you then, bug"

Connor: "You too, Blondie"

She walked passed me, making sure to slam her shoulder into me as she passed. I turned to look at Angel, who was more scared than anything.

Connor: "You okay?"

Angel: "Y-You don't know what you've just done"

Connor: "What do you mean?"

Angel: "You just accepted a challenge from a member of the Elite Demigods, and she is at the top. The challenge is a fight until knockout, and powers are allowed"

Connor: "Well, I was able to fight off Apophis, so I should be able to handle her"

Angel: "I'm sorry, but that was a fluke. She has killed multiple hydra and dragons by herself. She had abilities over lightning that are almost on the same level as Jupiter. Every single Demigod that has ever been in Duellum with her was taken down in seconds. No one has ever beaten her"

Connor: "Well, I guess I'll be the first"

Okay, I know there wasn't any fighting in this, well, physical fighting. There was a lot of verbal XD

The next chapter will have a big fight, so that will be fun to write!
