It's dark, cold, and lonely. It must be freezing. Why is it so dark?
A tap on his shoulder awakens Yoongi from his sleep, his eyes slowly fluttering open.
Right...
He was waiting at the bus stop. But that was at three. What time is it now?
He pulls out his phone, his head falling back in annoyance.
23:47
He missed the last bus by two minutes. Seriously? Just his luck.
He stuffs his phone back and looks up at the man who woke him. It's a boy. Young, early twenties or maybe even younger. He looks down at him with with innocent eyes.
"Sir, you shouldn't be asleep here. Especially not the night before Halloween."
Yoongi scoffs. "And a punk like you should walk around at this time? Where's your mommy?" He mocks.
The boy remains unresponsive, but sighs and looks up at the church clock.
"I hate that place." He suddenly says.
Yoongi looks up. The sudden cute innocent exterior has gone to utter hatred and annoyance.
"God and his stupid angels always keep me and my brothers from having our meals."
"I got news for you kid." Yoongi snarls. "I think God isn't real. If he was he would've helped me a long time ago."
The boy turns back to him and scoffs. "You think God is a good guy? No. He's worse than Satan. Halloween is the only night where I can be myself. The only night where God can't punish us."
Yoongi shakes his head in disapproval. "You kids these days. Making shit up."
"Don't curse. It's a bad habit of yours."
"What would you know about habits?"
The boy looks around quietly, checking for anyone near. When he finds no one, he grabs Yoongi's collar tightly and lifts the man up with no effort whatsoever.
Yoongi almost screams at the sudden lift, holding onto the boy's fist.
"I have bad habits. Worse than yours. We're in need for new brothers, but this place just stinks with the believers of God. People stay inside, afraid of the Devil's night, when we're outside looking for prey."
The boy's words only confuse Yoongi more until he notices a small bottle in the boy's hands. He slips it into Yoongi's long jacket and smirks when he puts him down, seeing the shock on his face.
"Drink that. Tomorrow, twelve at night. Drink it whole, no drop spilled. You'll get answers. Don't do it, and I'll have to kill you."
The boy's smirk turns into an innocent smile and he waves Yoongi goodbye before walking away.
Yoongi wastes no time to get up and run after him, but when the boy crosses the corner, he's suddenly gone.
Staring in shock at the street, he can't find the boy anywhere.
He slowly lifts a hand to his throat, feeling the ring his jacket left behind from the tight grip of the boy's dangerous strength.
He feels around in his pocket, quickly taking out the bottle. It's a glass potion with ancient syllables, a deep black ink-like substance swirling inside.
It's thick. It looks disgusting.
He opens the bottle, hesitantly smelling it.
To his surprise, the smell isn't as bad as he thought. It's sweet and yet... bloody.
The thought has him shaking his head. He rolls his eyes and throws the bottle into the alleyway he saw the boy go, but he never hears it shatter.
Turning back, he can't even see the glass.
What the fuck was going on?!
°•●•°
Yoongi grumbles again his glass, the blood red liquid inside entering his mouth.
Halloween movies. There are tons of them right now but none have managed to truly satisfy Yoongi.
The Addams Family was kinda fun though...
He chuckles at the thought and turns off the tv before moving upstairs. He takes quick shower, even though it's over one at night, and steps into bed.
But that boy...
What was that? What were those words? Those exclaims? That innocent face that got so dark that it looked like he was going to kill someone.
It makes him shiver under his warm blankets.
Just get it out of your head. No one has to know who or what this weird punk is.
He squeezes his eyes shut and thinks happy thoughts, when he feels the bed dip and opens one of his eyes.
He smiles at the brown fluffy dog that curls in his body.
"What did we say about going upstairs?" Yoongi mutters, ignoring his own words as he gladly pets his dog welcome in his bed.
That is, until he feels the bed dip on the other side.
He turns his head. He can't remember having two dogs--.
"WHAT THE FUCK!!"
Red eyes glare at him, amused as the same boy from two hours ago has slipped into his room. With. Red. Eyes.
"HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!?! GET OUT!!"
"Hey, hey, hey." The boy shakes his head. "I to answer your first question, you left your door unlocked, but I locked it for you, no worries." He grins, throwing Yoongi his keys.
The man is still shocked at the boy.
"I just came because you forgot this." The boy says, waving a glassy reflection in front of Yoongi's eyes.
"W-what...? But I threw that away! I don't want it!"
The boy lets out an guttural growl, a sound that no human should be able to make.
"Suit yourself." He smirks.
Before Yoongi can even turn, the boy has his hand latching at his throat, squeezing tightly.
Yoongi gasps, reaching for the boy's hands, but the grip is too tight.
"I told you I had to kill you if you refused. You know too much." The boy says slowly. "You're a weird one."
"H-how am I t-the weird o--?!"
"Save your breath. You might not make it if you don't." The boy growls again. "Most people would immediately accept to drink this fun little substance. This life saver that can get you a family. One that cares and understand. You have no one and you still refused?"
Yoongi gasps for air, tugging at the boy's wrists, but he doesn't budge.
"What is there left for you when you die?!" The boy screams at him. "Your parents abandoned you! Your own brother abused you! You're on your own with no known family and no friends! Why do you still try to live this way?!"
"B-because there is o-one d-day!" Yoongi chokes. "One day!"
The boy loosens his grip slightly, just enough for a bit of air. Yoongi gasps for oxygen and immediately relaxes under the red-eyed male.
"One day what?" The boy growls.
"One day..." Yoongi pants. "One day everything will turn out okay. One day I'll be happy. It's... hard work."
"Is that why you fell asleep at the bus stop?"
"No. I was tired."
The boy releases another growl and lets go of the man. "If you think everything will turn out than drink that. It'll make your life better. How long have you been working hard? How long are you planning to keep this lie going? You're hopeless."
Yoongi sighs. He's been working for a long time... But everything stayed the same.
"If you want a change, you drink that. All it takes is that one boost of courage. That desire to move on. Trust me when I say your life has no meaning, and me and my brothers understand that. There are millions like you and we are trying to help them to a different life. Including you. But we only have two hands."
The boy gets off his bed and sighs, pulling the window open.
"Think about it, Min Yoongi."
Yoongi blinks a few times, yelling out for the boy and reaching for the window. He shivers at the cold.
"Hey! Wait!"
The boy hesitantly turns with a grin. "Yes?"
Yoongi looks back at the potion and sighs. "If I do decide to drink that... Where can I meet you?"
The boy chuckles. "Don't worry. I'll come to you."
Yoongi watches breathlessly as the boy jumps off the roof, but again he doesn't hear someone fall.
He sighs and shuts the window, climbing back in bed. The boy is right. Nothing will change, no matter how long he'll work.
He still has a day. Maybe tomorrow will be better. But who was the kid? And who are his brothers? How did he disappear suddenly?
The nerves are eating him up inside. He wants to know what the potion does. His curiosity and the kid has him shaking.
He hugs his dog close and forces himself to sleep. If tomorrow won't work out...
Then what?
°•●•°
"Get this done!"
"Get that done!"
"Can you do this for me?"
"But I--"
"Thanks!"
Yoongi grits his teeth. He wants to rip the tie from his shirt and choke someone with it.
He's worked here for years and for all of his time here he's not once gotten promoted.
He does everything for everyone. He's kind and polite. He dresses like he belongs when he'd rather be in sweatpants flipping everyone off.
The kid was right.
That punk punched realization into him.
It's never going to get better.
Society hurts him.
With an angry mindset, Yoongi rolls away from his desk, stomping angrily towards his boss.
He's done being nice. He's done being everyone's doormat. Today is the day that Yoongi is finally standing up for himself.
He's decided.
He bursts into the office, not once giving a knock before he slams his fists on the desk of the shocked CEO, who flinched at his sudden intrusion.
"Yoongi!"
"I. Quit." Yoongi says slowly. "I'm done being used for everything. I've done all you asked me and I did it perfectly, and still you chose good-for-nothing Taelan over me for that promotion! If I'm just going to be a pushover to do your dirty work than you can suck my dick!!"
His boss is wide-eyed, speechless at Yoongi's outburst. He gulps nervously and slowly slides a file over to him.
"Please fill this in for your leave."
Yoongi snatches a pen from his desk and immediately starts scribbling answers before he turns on his heel.
"Oh, and I expect a the paychecks you never gave me. Including the bonus on Christmas and New Year that I never got." Yoongi snarls. "You have my contacts. I want them within two weeks."
Those are his final words before slamming the door shut.
He packs his stuff, ignoring the questions of his ex-coworkers and exits the building.
He lets out a relieved sigh when he settled everything in his car, running a hand through his hair.
He looks down at his lap.
Was it the right thing to do? He has no source of income now... But does he even need it? Maybe he needs a better job. Something he enjoys doing.
He looks back at the bus stop. The place where he met that strange kid. The kid with red eyes who suddenly got into his house and started talking weird things.
He shakes his head slowly and starts his ride home.
All over on the way back he sees decorations, lights, spooky stuff. The Halloween vibe is coming together.
Yoongi never really did anything with Halloween. He never had time.
Perhaps now he can finally see the smiles on the faces of those kids when he hands them out a bag of candy.
He gets home and takes out all of his stuff, moving them inside. He's happy to be home. He's happy to be free from that awful place.
He goes up to the attic and takes a look through all the dust to see if he has any last minute decorations.
Not to his surprise, he doesn't.
He curses under his breath.
The shops are probably sold out or crowded. There isn't any last minute decisions.
Looks like Halloween won't be a thing this year either.
Maybe next year...
He can always sit on the porch and give them candy. It's just... not Halloweeny.
He sighs, grabbing his coat and opening the door.
He screams when a face pops right from the top of his doorway. There is a bright smile and sharp fangs with brown hair.
The face hangs upside down, but as far as Yoongi remembers, he has no bar under his porch.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!!"
"I scared you!" The boy laughs, swinging upright down. "You were right Koo!"
"I told you to stop calling me that!"
"But it's so cute! Would you rather be called a bunny?"
"Call me a bunny and I'll seriously hurt you."
"You already have though!"
"There is enough place for another scar."
That voice... Yoongi frowns and pushes the boy away and looks up. There, from the first bar to the house hangs the boy from last night. He looks weightless between those things!
"You!"
"It's eleven."
"I know it's eleven!"
"What's eleven?"
"Shut up!" Yoongi snaps at the boy who just scared the baby out of him. "It's eleven in the evening! Can you please let me enjoy the night whilst I still can go to the store?!"
"For who? Those kids?" The boy scoffs. "Just stay inside. Next year will be a lot more fun."
"How would you know?" Yoongi snarls.
The other boy looks up at "Koo" and grins. "He doesn't know yet, does he?"
The boy shakes his head. "Tonight he will."
"So he's gotten the potion?"
"Yep."
"Oh! So this is the guy you told me about?!"
"Yep."
"He is grumpy kitten?"
"I am what--?"
"Yep."
Yoongi is almost shaking in anger. He grabs the hanging sweater from the boy and pulls him down, having the boy land face flat on his porch.
"I don't even know you!" Yoongi yells angrily. "You told me you'd see me at twelve! I don't need you two to bother me whenever the timing sucks!"
Both boys look at him.
"Well... For starters, lets introduce ourselves then." The bright smiled boy says. "I'm Taehyung!"
"And I'm Jungkook. Don't call me Koo." The boy says, another growl leaving his lips. "So may we come in then so I can explain?"
"Is there anything to explain?" Yoongi grumbles, crossing his arms.
The boy from earlier, Jungkook, nods. "A lot. Don't you wanna know what the potion does? If it ever wears out?"
Yoongi scoffs. "I can find that out myself."
"So you're taking the potion?" Taehyung asks. "Without knowing what it does? What if it's poison?"
Yoongi shrugs. "Like the punk told me earlier, what if life will never change. I found out today that it never does. Death won't change a thing because as he said before too..." He sighs. "I have no one."
"But you don't have to!" Taehyung yells. "You have people! My brothers-- They can be yours! You'll have a family!"
"Again with the brothers?" Yoongi snarls. "How do I know you two aren't lying. You even know my name and I never told you."
Jungkook shrugs. "A trick of the mind." He smirks and looks at Taehyung for a moment as he speaks before looking back at Yoongi. "Our species... is very complicated."
Yoongi frowns. "Your species?"
Taehyung looks at Jungkook and Yoongi before he frowns. "Are you talking about the--?"
"I'm talking about that." Jungkook cuts him off and pushes past Yoongi, going into the house.
Taehyung follows quickly, not giving Yoongi any time to explain.
Huffing angrily, Yoongi shuts the door, running behind the two troublemakers.
He sees them on his bed, cuddling his dog.
"Don't touch him!"
"He's just a dog. We can pet him if we want to." Taehyung mumbles. "Besides, he's cute."
"I know he's cute because he's my dog!" Yoongi snaps. "So if you won't explain what's going on I will fucking kill you both!!"
Jungkook and Taehyung look at each other before shrugging.
"We're vampires." Taehyung says.
"Souls of the Devil." Jungkook grins. "Remember what I told you last night?"
"All of that weird shit?"
"It's true."
The sudden joyful exterior is gone in a flash, revealing the face of a serious boy. Something quite scary to the eye when there is a red glow emitting from it.
"I was born this way, but Taehyung was in the same place as you. He's a recent turned so... He gets it the most."
Taehyung nods. "The pain of being alone is eating you. It's never getting better. A circle of misery."
Yoongi looks away with a light exhale. He's right, and he pains to admit it.
"But when I met his oldest brother things started to light up! I was in pain before, I was so disappointed in myself and everything around me. But... I found home. I found my family here. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it really changes you in a way where the world and we can benefit."
"If it's so great than why do you pull me into it?" Yoongi mutters. "If everything was so disappointing..."
"You don't get it." Taehyung says softly. "Humans are so fragile. So... cold. They're emotionally weak and most of the times when compared to demons or angels they don't stand a chance physically. But we, as vampires, have so much more to give! We live longer, we don't spend time on basic things! There is so much we can do that we would have never done!"
"Why would you do it then?"
"Because I know things are scary. I was human. But the eldest saved me from a life full of sadness and sorrow. I may have even ended it much earlier if it wasn't for him. Just trust me... It'll give a life filled with hope and love. You'll have a family and a home."
Yoongi frowns. All those things are tempting. The vampire thing was a little weird, but he can clearly see the evidence.
Red eyes with a flawless pale skin, short but sharp fangs whenever they open their mouths.
Vampires don't live like in movies. They don't wear silly capes or dress really old-school.
From this sight, if Jungkook was born this way, they're really in with the time.
"But then how do you find love?" Yoongi asks softly. "If you're all brothers and no one knows about your existence..."
"We find love in the community." Jungkook shrugs. "We're all family but we aren't all blood related. We call each other brothers and sisters because we feel that way. Vampires share close bonds."
Yoongi glances at the bottle. He's hesitant. Life was bad today... It was every day. But does he want to give up his human life for a better one?
It's a big choice. A life decision.
He hesitantly takes the bottle in his hands, glancing at the two vampires. They stare at him, but not in hunger. With hope.
He pulls the tip off, the sweet scent reminding him of the night before.
They're right.
Human are miserable.
With a deep breath he sets the bottle against his lips, watching the clock.
23:59
He ticks the second in his head, drowning the liquid inside when the minute ticks.
The taste is not bad. It's like the scent. Sweet but bloody.
Whether he dies or not, he's had his time. Some people have luck and become rich, others find love or a great job.
Yoongi had to work for everything and he got nothing good of it. Except for his dog. Holly is always the best.
He doesn't really feel different. Both vampires look at him, both with a soft smile.
"I forgot to mention..." Jungkook begins softly. "It's gonna hurt..."
"A lot." Taehyung nods.
Yoongi gulps nervously. "And why should something like liquid hurt?"
"It literally changes your insides, outsides, and everything in between. Of course it's gonna hurt!" Taehyung snaps at him.
"And you couldn't have mentioned it before I drank the thing?!"
"Would you have taken it if we told you?!"
"Of course not!"
"That's why."
Yoongi grumbles some curses under his breath before crossing his arms and pouting at the betrayal.
Jungkook pats his shoulder, but at the touch Yoongi flinches. Jungkook's hand is cold, even through his hoodie.
He shivers, whining when there is a sudden ache in his stomach. He flinches again when another cold hand lays itself on his back.
"D-don't touch me!" He squeaks. "You're cold!"
Jungkook frowns. "Sorry... I forgot. Snow makes me colder than usual."
"But we don't get cold."
"We can't feel it, we talked about this, Tae."
Yoongi clutches his stomach, wincing in pain when the ache becomes worse, following a burning sensation over his spine that lingers in his neck and waist.
He whines and rolls onto his back, his dog sadly nudging his side.
Taehyung quickly takes the innocent creature out of the room, watching with a light scoff at Yoongi's pain.
"He'll benefit from it eventually..." He mumbles.
Jungkook nods, but he still feels bad. He knows the transformation sucks, he just never mentions it. His intentions are good. Just the process isn't...
He watches as Yoongi's back arches and he cries out in pain, clawing at his chest and throat. He can only imagine how the human must feel.
"Y-you could have m-mentioned this!!" Yoongi screams.
"Like I said. You wouldn't have taken it if I told you--."
"I MEANT AFTER I TOOK IT!!!"
Taehyung looks at Jungkook with soft eyes and he shrugs.
Yoongi lets tears roll down his face, feeling his body jolt and his muscles pulse like a heartbeat. His throat feels like it's full of something sharp, coughing nonstop to get it out, but all he gets out of his throat is a loud vampiric hiss.
It doesn't sound exactly like theirs. Yoongi's hiss is rough and small compared to their threats.
He shakes, venom playing in his veins. His eyes tear up, watering out tears as they're burning with pain.
Jungkook gently lays a hand on Yoongi's chest. His heart is beating in uneven beats.
Thump, thumpthu-, thump, thumpthump, thum-, thump...
It's not a constant rhythm. But slowly, Jungkook feels the heartbeat calm down. He counts.
One, two, three, four-, thump...
Twenty six, twenty seven, thump...
Eighty three, eighty fo-, thump...
It's slowing down as Yoongi calms down, but to Taehyung's surprise, the human's eyes close.
"Did... Did we kill him?"
Jungkook shakes his head. "He's passed out."
"Oh... When will he wake up?"
"I don't know."
Taehyung sighs. "The best we can do is gather food for him and keep that dog away from him."
Jungkook nods. "I'll collect food, you stay and wait. I bet Namjoon has something for me. He's always prepared!"
"Seokjin is too!"
"Yeah, but Namjoon is more organized."
"And he breaks stuff easier."
"It's not his fault!" Jungkook laughs before he slides out the window.
With a sigh, Taehyung gets onto the bed and opens one of Yoongi's eyelids to see, but he gasps at the sight.
In one eye melanin has pulled away, watching as blood flows into the iris to give it its shiny red color, but the other...
Is pure white.
°•●•°
It takes nearly an hour for Yoongi's eyes to flutter open, the first glance being one of annoyance.
"Turn the light off. It's too bright." He grumbles.
A deep voice mutters a curse under his breath before the brightness clips into darkness.
Blinking a few times, Yoongi looks around. He's still in his house. He doesn't really feel any different from before.
Did it even work?
He looks at the gaping Taehyung, rolling his eyes. "What are you looking at?"
Taehyung shakily points at him. "W-well... Your eyes... and you...--"
"Just say it." Yoongi snaps at him, baring his teeth and revealing long sharp fangs, pearl white and glinstering like a blade in the moonlight.
Taehyung flinches at the sight but he quickly regains his posture. "You have your wings already!"
Yoongi frowns at him and looks back. Sitting up, there are two black wings weakly laying on the bed. One drapes off the side whilst the other spreads.
"And?" He growls.
"It takes years to earn them! Especially as a turned!"
Yoongi scoffs coldly. "Than I guess my hard work paid off somewhere."
"H-hey-- Wait!!"
Ignoring Taehyung completely, Yoongi gets off his bed and gets up, stretching his limbs with a crack, even his wings shake themselves awake.
"B-but--!!"
"Is something wrong?" Yoongi asks, a growl rumbling in his throat as he turns to glare at the vampire. "And be honest."
Taehyung gulps. "W-well... You shouldn't be able to get up... Most of the time your limbs are numb after your transformation."
"And how do you know I just finished?"
"Because right after you sprouted your wings you woke up!"
"WHAT THE HELL?!!"
Yoongi turns to the boy in the window and grins. "Jungkook. Took you long enough."
"HE HAS HIS WINGS ALREADY?!!"
"I KNOW!!"
Yoongi rolls his eyes. "Seriously? Again with the wings? What is so special about them?"
Jungkook gulps, looking up when he notices his eyes.
"Are you sure you don't have a family relative who was a vampire?" He asks, reaching out to cup his cheek but hesitates and retreats. "This isn't usual for a recent turned with no vampire blood."
"Is it for normal vampires then?"
Jungkook shrugs. "We get wings once we're over thousand years old. It proves our ability to stay loyal to the king. It allows for more agility."
"Than why do I have them?"
Taehyung shrugs, as does Jungkook.
"Maybe Joon can help? He's been loyal!"
"He got his wings a week ago, it's not like he knows how everything works in three minutes." Taehyung huffs, crossing his arms.
Jungkook growls at him. "Do you have a better idea? Namjoon was educated highly in one of the best univerties in the entire existence of Hell, he's always been loyal and even praised by the Devil himself! He's the smartest out of all of us! Age is just a thing!"
"Than why were you so surprised--"
"Because you're clearly human and not a thousand years old! Besides that there is a literal proof of royalty in your eye!" Jungkook yells angrily. "We're going to Namjoon!"
"And where is this mystery brother of yours?" Yoongi asks, crossing his arms.
Jungkook grins at him. "Remember when I disappeared suddenly?"
Yoongi nods.
"There are small passageways to Hell every now and then. They're reflective to humans. Like nothing. But to us, it's a literal mirror that shows us the other side."
Yoongi nods again. "So we look for this strange passageway? When will they appear?"
"The time when Jungkook suddenly disappeared was pure luck." Taehyung smiles. "It appears at random, dark places for demons and loyals who want a show of any human misery."
Yoongi feels a shiver crawling down his spine at that word, unknowingly licking his lips.
Jungkook shivers at the sight. "You already act like one of us... It's freaky how you adapt so quick."
"He was like this when he woke up too." Taehyung mutters, pulling both of the others with him.
"Really?"
"Yeah! He just looked at me and started talking!"
Yoongi rolls his eyes again, listening to their curious bickering over him. He looks around.
If he's become a vampire, shouldn't he be... a little more bloodthirsty?
He shrugs it off as a beginner's growth and pays a little more attention to the other two when a sudden delicious scent enters his nostrils.
His attention snaps as soon as he smells it. All he can think about is home.
Home...
He sniffs the air again. The scent of fire, smoke, mischief, darkness. Home. He runs ahead without a word, crossing corners and streets before spreading both of his wings widely, Taehyung and Jungkook screaming for him to stop, but Yoongi already launches himself into the air with a powerful jump.
He miscalculated it, clearly. The roof is getting closer, but Yoongi manages to fall face flat on the surface of stone.
But there...
In the doorway...
A little smoke. A little fire.
He lets out a growl, but he squeaks when something pops through the small little opening.
It's a long, sharp claw that slowly cuts its way up, making the hole bigger.
It reveals Hell...
His heart pounds, his fangs itch, his hunger increasing.
There are loyals who gasp at his appearance. Vampires, demons, even creatures in lava which falls like a waterfall in thick blobs.
"... Home..."
"Fucking hell-- YOONGI!!"
Yoongi's head turns when he hears his name, watching the vampires he left behind climb up, panting.
"What is wrong with you--?!"
Jungkook immediately stops when he sees the opening to Hell, looking back at Yoongi.
"How did you know it was here?"
"I could smell it."
"Smell?" Taehyung frowns. "Does it have a smell?"
Yoongi nods. "Warm and sweet, yet sour. A little like... misery and evil."
Jungkook's frown grows. "I think you may have a vampire or a demon in your family..."
"Did we make a half-breed?!"
"I think we did..."
Yoongi looks back when he hears his name again. It's asked, a question to see if it's really his.
A young looking demon girl looks up at him. "Are you the master we learn about at history?"
"The... master?"
The girl nods. "Yeah! The sacrificer for our world!"
Yoongi shakes his head. "I'm not--"
But he's cut off my murmuring from the other loyals.
Jungkook and Taehyung sigh and Jungkook takes Yoongi's hand, guiding him through the portal.
Once he enters the other side, his body is filled with warmth and hunger.
His wings spread for the warm smoke and he lets out a purring growl. It feels comfortable here.
Immediately the loyals rush towards him, inspecting him and touching him.
Yoongi whines. He notices how different they are dressed to him. He's wearing thick warm clothes whilst they wear mostly dark colors including the Devil's sign.
Why does that feel... comfortable?
He's quickly pulled away by Jungkook who growls at them.
"Stupid curiosity..." He mutters. "Can never keep their hands to themselves."
Yoongi opens his mouth to say something but he shuts himself up when he sees a flying being high up. He's visibly muttering something to himself and grabbed something.
It's a book.
"Hyung!" Jungkook yells.
The demon looks down and smiles before folding his wings and diving down, taking a straight turn to land on his feet effortlessly.
Not like how Yoongi face planted.
"Jungkookie! You're back so soon! I thought you were bringing the new guy with you?"
Jungkook points at Yoongi. "He is the new guy."
"Hey Joon! Long time no see!" Taehyung yells, jumping onto the demon's back.
"It's Namjoon to you, you disrespectful bloodhustler."
"Hey!"
Yoongi growls at them, having Namjoon frown. He eyes him up and down, pointing at his wings. "May I?"
Yoongi nods and before he knows it, Namjoon is inspection his wings. Every feather, every bone. It's all in Namjoon's eyes.
"But... He's a newly turned?"
Jungkook nods.
"But then... how?!"
"I was hoping you could tell us..."
With a sad shake of the head, Namjoon lets out a disappointing growl.
"I'm sure I have a book somewhere..."
Taehyung rolls his eyes and jumps off his back. "You go to your stupid books. We got a new vampire to report to the Devil."
Jungkook nods quietly. "I forgot about that..."
Yoongi sighs as he's pulled with again.
Hell is... massive.
Lava, fire, towns and cities full of demons and those loyal to Satan. There are many who stare at him in shock, murmur and whisper.
But once the castle comes into view, everything fades. His frustrated behavior with the people surrounding him, his curiosity for what he is...
Home...
With a few loud knocks on the door, it's soon opened to reveal a red-haired vampire. And even his eyes widen.
But unlike the others, this one bows.
"We've awaited your return." The vampire says. "Please, come join me to the Devil."
He's pushed ahead. Looking back, he sees Jungkook and Taehyung are sent away, but he doesn't miss the sad glance from the childish vampire.
"So... Where am I?" Yoongi asks after minutes of silence.
"Have you hit yourself on the head, young master?" The vampire laughs. "You've always had such dry humor!"
Yoongi's expression turns into an angry scowl. "Listen here. I've been treated like this the entire time I was here. I have no idea where I am or what I am!"
His outburst shocks the vampire. "You truly have not remembered anything?"
"Have I been here before?"
"I immediately knew something was up when you wanted to live on Earth. Satan has missed your presence."
"When I wanted to live on Earth?!"
The vampire turns to him once entered a large room. Inside is a classical piano and multiple comfortable seats and a table with some cabinets and paintings.
"Would you like something to drink?" The vampire asks.
"Do you have coff--"
"I assume you'd still want traumas after all these centuries. I cannot blame you! They are delicious."
"CENTURIES?!!"
The vampire slowly shakes his head. "It's even worse than I thought... How have you regained your form?"
"I was turned!" Yoongi yells. "Jungkook gave me a potion and I drank it! When I woke up I was this!"
The vampire freezes, the cup in his hands falling from his grasp, shattering over the floor. The black liquid inside rising in souls from the carpet.
"W-what...?" He stutters, looking at him with big eyes. "You are not Min Yoongi?"
"Of course I am! Do you think I'm stupid not to know my own name?!" Yoongi snaps.
"B-but... You never... I...--"
"Just tell me if there was someone I perhaps looked like or if I was here before. I just don't want all that attention when I don't deserve it."
The vampire's shock turns into a soft smile. After those words, he's sure this is the Yoongi they've been looking for.
"You were always like this." He says softly. "A little dry, blunt, but always honest. You did greater things and expanded them. But... it went too far."
Yoongi's brown furrow. "So I've been here before?"
The vampire nods. "You're the one that the Devil has missed so much. Because of you we were able to create many beautiful things. But since you left... It hasn't been the same."
"Why did I leave? Who was I?" Yoongi asks, his voice growing more confused and desperate to know.
The vampire sighs deeply. "You were a successful demon. You refused the throne for the success of the people. You gave up your title as a prince and instead requested to be called by name. However, when war struck the earth one too many times, you decided to help. There were too many souls to take care of at once."
Yoongi frowns. It sounds like something he'd do. But how didn't he go back?
"With your help we managed to calm the souls and bring them a host, but you never came back."
Looking down, Yoongi feels his heart pound once in his chest. "Than who did I become after I left the castle? I assume I didn't stay there."
The vampire shakes his head. "You went to Jimin."
"Who is that?"
"He was your best friend, but he went looking for you after you didn't return and... well... He never did either."
Yoongi feels his heart clench. To think he can't remember his best friend. That he never got found...
The vampire sighs at his cold pained expression. "You look tired. Have you eaten?"
Yoongi shakes his head slowly. "I'm not hungry."
"You need to eat, young master."
"I'm not hungry." Yoongi says again, more firm. His hands clench to fists. "I want to know if I can build my life back up. If I really belonged here before, than how can I become familiar with this realm again?"
The vampire smiles at him. "With time, young master."

Jungkook sighs. Something was missing. Something along the lines of a half-blood calling him a punk even though he might be older. He can't remember it clearly, but he sure can feel it.
It took months for Yoongi to adapt, but his presence return was announced days before today. Everyone was joyful, and even Yoongi and his brothers all looked happy.
But Jungkook can't help but feel the emptiness within him.
Even for the short time he was with Yoongi, the man made him feel like a normal vampire. He didn't treat him like someone younger, nor did he talk down upon him.
But when he saw Yoongi there, shyly waving to the cheering crowd with the current king, his blood related brother, he couldn't help but feel bad.
He's been down for a while and his brothers have noticed. And although Namjoon is the smartest of his family, he isn't one to know about feelings.
Taehyung is still young and playful. He wouldn't take it seriously and tease him about it.
There were his sisters. Kyungsoo and Taeyeon, who he could talk to. They're more to the emotional side of the vampire.
But to his shock, the conclusion they made ended up with them giggling too. They wouldn't even tell him what it was. Only told him to find out for himself.
But confusion struck him more often than not.
He saw Yoongi around every now and then, but he stayed in the shadows whilst Yoongi got engulfed with questions, little kids, and the press.
He could see the uncomfortable look on his face, but refused to help.
A brother of the king's doesn't need a peasant's help.
But if only he knew the life Yoongi had...
Yoongi hates to go out, purely because of this. Because of the crowds and he's begged his brother time to time not to let him go out, but the king claims it'll be over in a few days.
He said that a week ago.
Yoongi sometimes sits alone and writes in his journal. But he ends up writing a lot more about his time with Jungkook than anything else, describing how defined his features looked, how sharp his fangs were and how his voice could soothe him.
He ended up sighing and throwing it away out of the window. He needs to start over.
He's home.
After years on Earth, he's home. But then why is he still not happy?

The next day, there us surprising headline in the newspaper.
LOST PRINCE MIN YOONGI CRUSHING ON VAMPIRE
The sight makes Jungkook whine when his two eldest brothers read the paper like old men.
That is until his name is called.
"JUNGKOOK?!!"
"What now?"
The eldest, Seokjin, shakes his head. "You're... in the newspaper..."
"Nice, I suppose." He shrugs. "Why did you scream then?"
The second eldest, Namjoon, shows the page. It's the one telling about Yoongi's crush.
"Read this and take a look at the picture."
Jungkook huffs and takes the paper, but his eyes grow wide at the page.
Returned prince Min Yoongi, as known, is one of quietest demons we have ever seen! Although for his words do not come from his mouth, perhaps it does from his pen.
It has recently occured the rumor that prince Yoongi has an eye on a certain vampire boy. The kid who showed him the life back home.
The journal discovered by a loyal demon boy has turned us this beautiful information to confirm that these rumors are true!
If you see the picture, you can find words lined, colored, cursive and little drawings here and there.
But one of those underlined and colored words is none other than the name of the crush himself!
Jeon Jung--
"ME?!"
Jungkook drops the paper with heavy breathing and takes a last close look at the picture. Indeed, his name is written cursive, underlined, and colored.
In tiny letters it reads,
For once I have had my home. For once I have felt my home. But I can never be at peace. The one I want to see has ignored me, and my connections to this realm are still unknown.
I do not know his address, nor do I know his routine. But I know one thing. That is that I, Min Yoongi, a royal demon who has left for earth centuries ago, is in love with the simply good-hearted vampire, Jeon Jungkook.
If I ever see him again, I won't know how to tell him. I don't know if I should tell him. This secret is a must-keep, although my own heart cannot keep itself calm when his face pops up into mind.
Just the gaze of his eyes can make me feel the world within my fingertips--
That's where the picture cuts off, ending the ramble of Min Yoongi's diary.
First, Jungkook thought it to be unbelievable, then he found it privacy.
With anger filling his veins, he slams the paper on the table and head out, ignoring the yelling of his brothers.
And once he arrives at the station, he's shocked to find a certain half-blood already there, screaming and cussing at them.
But all eyes are on Jungkook when he walks in.
Yoongi immediately turns to see who it is, but once he does, he turns back. There is no way Jungkook would come there otherwise than besides the article about them.
Yoongi's outbursts has become quiet, clear to know his secret had been exposed. There was denying or hiding it.
Jungkook huffs out his embarrassment and walks up to the desk.
"Do you know that what you published is invasion of privacy? I can sue you for doing this."
Yoongi is shocked to hear those words. He's... not... mad?
"Give me the diary." Jungkook demands, letting out a hungry growl, extending his hand. "Or I may just eat one of you. I haven't eaten yet."
The publishers all gulp at his threat.
"B-but the law states that--"
"The law states that without consent or permission of the one who you've used this information from, this is not legal, and I can and will sue you if you do not hand the diary back and unpublish your work. Too many people have seen it, but it can still be made foul."
"B-but you two are together! It said in the diary!"
Yoongi huffs. "The diary said I am in love with him. I admit this fact to be true, but I have no clue about his feelings for me. Therefore you did not only take what belongs to me without my consent, but you also concluded something that isn't true. Your news is foul and I will not hesitate to bring you out of business." He says, letting out a deep growl of his own.
Jungkook looks at him. Seeing him not only protect himself, but also protecting him from any foul accusations...
Why is his heart pounding...?
With stammering, the publishers apologize and immediately start working on taking down the article and someone else on retrieving the diary.
Jungkook shyly looks at Yoongi. His face is bright red, either from anger or flushed from embarrassment. His posture is what could be royal, his voice asserting dominance when he is finally handed his diary.
With a turn on the heel, Yoongi walks out.
Jungkook quickly runs after him, grabbing his sleeve and pulling him to the side.
When Yoongi opens his mouth to ask what he's doing, he suddenly feels lips on his own.
Jungkook has eyes shut tight, pulling at Yoongi's shirt, their lips connected. Slowly pulling away, Yoongi is frozen is shock, but Jungkook looks down.
"I... I have to know. Is everything you wrote the truth?" Jungkook asks softly. "I just don't want to be given false hope--"
Before Jungkook can finish, Yoongi has calmly connected their lips once more.
That was a good enough answer for him.
"I won't lie to you. Have I ever?"
Jungkook shakes his head.
"Than why are we still here?" Yoongi chuckles. "Lets go back. I'll tell you all about what I wrote, you punk."
Nodding, the vampire feels his cheeks redden. Thank Satan, Yoongi is still the fun half-breed he knows. Now he's sure never to let go again.
[=|THE END|=]
