The campfire slowly bristles upwards into the dark night above. Namjoon huffs, staring at the flames as he caresses the sharp edge of his sword, careful not to cut his finger on it.
They've been camping for a while, traveling from place to place to get this damned tadpole out of their brains.
Namjoon's sword is stained with blood. This is the only time he can use it for what he truly wants. A grins tugs at his lips at only the thought of another night camping, where his blade is his to use.
Not for his friends, not for his survival, but for fun.
There was an urge within him. One he hadn't felt before. Then again, he couldn't really remember anything from before the abduction.
All he knows is that there is a tadpole in his brain, and it wants his body to host. Namjoon knows better. If he could, he'd rip its teeth out one by one. He'd feel it wriggle for help in his hand.
Namjoon quickly shakes the last bit of blood off of his sword and sheathes it on his back, taking a deep breath when he hears the footsteps coming closer.
He looks around and smiles at the elf that approaches him.
"What are you doing up so late, tiefling boy?"
Namjoon rolls his eyes at the name. "Couldn't sleep. What about you?"
The elf chuckles and points at his ears. "We don't sleep."
"Right..."
This elf, Jungkook, he was a strange one. He always had this grin on his face, one that said he could be trusted. Almost too much.
Jungkook takes a seat on the log next to the tiefling, holding his hands out to the fire.
"So, Namjoon, what will you do when we get this... leach out of our heads?"
Namjoon tilts his head. His first answer would be to kill, but that's a thing he can do with the tadpole as well. In fact, it encourages him to do so.
Another smirk twists his lips and he looks back at the pale elf. "Find my family. If I still have them."
"Right." Jungkook chuckles. "You don't remember, do you? How strange... I certainly remember everything before those damned squids ruined our minds."
Namjoon shrugs. "Amnesia I suppose. What's it to you, anyway? You came to bother me?"
Jungkook looks him up and down and shakes his head. "No, not necessarily. I saw you were up from my tent. It's not hard to notice when you're asleep in there."
"How so?"
"Your tail hits so much when you turn, it has me wondering if I should move tents."
Namjoon scoffs and looks back at his tail, then back at Jungkook's sweet grin. "Anything else to complain about, your highness?"
"Well, yes, while we're at it, your horns for example, what purpose do they serve other than being pretty accessories on your skull?"
Jungkook's mocking tone draws a sharp growl from Namjoon's sharp teeth and he looks away.
He's always found the elf to be a bit obnoxious. Ever since he joined them after the abduction, he's been pushing Namjoon's buttons.
"My horns are none of your concern, elf. And just so you know, they're very important to my kind."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yes. They are."
The elf's grin grows and he leans forward towards the hellspawn. "You wouldn't mind if I cut some off then, won't you? I'd love a tiefling horn as a necklace."
Namjoon turns his head away and stands up, glaring down at the elf with sharp, piercing eyes.
"Be careful what you wish for, spawn." He snarls. "I'll let you know what my horns can do."
Jungkook scoffs and leans back. "Really? Very well. I'll be waiting for your revenge then."
Namjoon takes a deep, frustrated breath and quickly runs back into the forest he just came from. Everything still smells like the massacre he left behind.
It was common knowledge that tieflings and elves didn't get along. Elves were of high value to everyone, high in ranks and high on respect.
Tieflings... they were hellspawn. Children of devils and bringers of pain. They were not as big as devils were, and neither were they as strong, but they were humane, with horns and tails of their own, a slight scaled skin and sharp fangs and nails.
Namjoon has had his fair share of racism. His fair share of treatment differences and urge to jab his nails into their eyes.
Jungkook had it so good. The elf, the perfect man. The one with the eyes, the one with the smile.
Everything he wished he could have, that he could be, Jungkook is.
Not just that, but this urge. He wants the blood, the murder, the screaming and begging for mercy.
Namjoon grabs his hair tightly and grinds his teeth, growling and slamming his fists against a nearby tree, panting as the rage rises.
The tadpole whispers to him, giggling in his ears.
"Kill him! If he angers you so!"
Namjoon growls at the voice.
"His blood would look so good on your hands!"
He can't say that the little vermin isn't right. He would love to see Jungkook's red blood dripping from his sword, splattered on his skin and leaking from the elf's skull.
He gulps the urge down his throat and shakes his head. It doesn't matter what he wants. This tadpole is an infection. One that's been morphing his mind.
All of these murderous thoughts must be it's doing.
Namjoon takes another deep breath and slowly touches one of his horns. They add weight to his skull, which is one of the reasons why he doesn't move his head a lot.
If the tadpole makes him have these dark thoughts, does that mean that Jungkook could be... nice? If that thing was removed?
"No! He'd hate you! Like everyone else!"
Namjoon growls again and turns back to camp. He's shed enough blood for one night. Even if that blood does not involve Jungkook's pretty wine.
The more he thinks about it, the more he wants it. Perhaps a taste of his blood would satisfy the cravings...
Namjoon, again, shakes his head and waves the bushes away with his tail behind him, quickly returning to the campfire.
It's empty. The fire is still on, with two new pieces of firewood on top, and a small note in front of it.
Impressive that it hadn't been burned.
Namjoon hesitantly picks it up and takes a seat again on the log, taking his sword off his back and laying it on the gravel next to him.
'You know I'm kidding, right. I love your horns. And I don't mind your tail. In fact, I want to know more. I don't sleep, join me in my tent if you ever can't sleep.'
Namjoon scoffs and laughs a little at the note and glances back to the red tent of the elf. There's a small light coming from inside. He must be waiting.
Looking back at the note, Namjoon sighs and crumples it up into his hand, throwing it into the fire.
He watches it burn with a sinister grin and turns around, his eyes set on the elf's silhouette.
Tension runs over his spine. He clemches his fists and slowly grabs his sword back off the ground, looking down at it.
His hand caresses the handle and he unsheathes it a bit, eyeing the reflection of his dark, blue eyes on the blade.
"Jungkook... You know what I've always wondered?"
Namjoon chuckles at his own words and kneels down in front of the elf's tent, waiting for him to open it.
"What have you wondered, tiefling?"
The elf shoves the opening aside and grins at the kneeling tiefling, crouching down on the pillows in his tent.
Namjoon grinds his teeth again, the corners of his lips twisting up into a psychotic grin.
He grabs Jungkook by his neck and slams him down next to him, pressing down on his skin and feeling the flesh under his fingers throb from the pain.
Jungkook gasps and whines, coughing and grabbing onto Namjoon's wrist with wide eyes.
Whatever it was that expected from an angry tiefling, it wasn't this.
The devilspawn was much stronger than he was, and to struggle against him now would mean certain death.
There was a look in Namjoon's eyes he's never seen before. Pure hatred and rage, with guilt and regret. All of it is overshadowed by his anger and strength.
"You." Namjoon snarls. "I aught to kill you right now for your shannanigans. For your insults!"
Jungkook gulps his fear down his throat. His heart pounds in his chest. Namjoon isn't pressing down, he can breathe. The tiefling doesn't want to hurt him.
"You have some nerve. Talking to me about my horns and my tail and my culture, then telling me you're fucking with me?! I want to press a knife to your throat and feel your blood running over my fingers as I pry it open."
Jungkook gulps again. "I... I'm sorry..."
Namjoon growls. "There is no sorry for something you cannot fix. I want to slaughter you, dissect you, have you begging for mercy as I rip your organs out of your chest one by one!"
The tiefling flinches when a knife is set to his throat, the sharp edge touching his skin.
Behind him, the cleric chuckles. "We won't kill anyone today. Not after the number of times I've had to heal you up. You kill him, and I'll resort to necromancy instead."
Namjoon growls and slightly turns his head to look at the half-elf with a sharp huff.
His black curls fall over his eyes through the sinister glimmer.
Not wanting to die by someone who shoots magic in the backline, Namjoon slowly takes his hand away from Jungkook's throat.
The knife disappears, and the cleric pats his shoulder.
"Just so you know." He grumbles. "Half elves also don't sleep."
"Does that mean that drow do sleep?"
"I'm not a drow. I wouldn't know."
Jungkook lays there on the ground for a while longer, gulping the nerves down into his stomach as he reaches to gently feel his throat.
His eyes glance over at the tiefling, who looks away from him and the cleric who scolds him.
"Yoongi, give him a break."
The cleric glares at him. "He tried to kill you."
Jungkook smiles the same grin he's always smiled and lays his hand on Namjoon's thigh. "I know, I gave him a reason to."
Namjoon looks down at him with wide eyes, baring his fangs. He sighs and lays his own on Jungkook's hand and squeezes his eyes shut.
"So... You made him want to kill you?" Yoongi sighs and crouches down, tugging at the elf's ear. "You're so stupid sometimes, you know."
Jungkook whines and laughs softly, looking up at the cleric. "I know."
Yoongi reaches out to Namjoon's horns to pull him back up, but hesitates. His eyes follow the curves. He scoffs softly and instead ruffles the tiefling's hair in between them, chuckling at Namjoon's quiet huffs.
"Well, whatever it was you did." Yoongi grunts as he stands back up. "Don't do it again, please."
Jungkook nods at him and glances down at the tiefling's hand on his own.
He's always wondered what's going on that man's head ever since the crash. He only knows the tiefling he's seen since then, and he's also the only tiefling he's seen.
He doesn't know if tieflings are aggressive or if they enjoy murder and blood.
Namjoon seems to, but he doesn't seem to be happy about it either.
Was it the tadpole? Jungkook's had been quite dormant.
With a sigh, Jungkook sits back up and takes Namjoon's hands in his own. The tiefling glares at him, but can't help but smile a little at how quickly he's back to his old self.
"Namjoon, would you like to sleep in my tent tonight?"
"Excuse me?"
Yoongi snorts and shakes his head, quickly turning around to put out the campfire. With a dramatic eye roll, he enters his own black tent and shuts the entrance off.
Namjoon stares at the elf who looks back at him with a gentle smile. Him? Sleeping in the same tent? He just tried to kill him!
"I... No." Namjoon shakes his head. "I might try to strangle you again."
Jungkook chuckles. "True." He smiles. "But, if you can't sleep, and I don't sleep, how will you ever sneak up on me?"
The tiefling sighs. He has a point. But still, the tadpole is dangerous, and they're so close to the city. One more night, then he can get the damn parasite removed and leave these people to run.
Run... to where? He doesn't remember anything. He doesn't know if he has any family left, or if they're even in the big city.
"I'm sorry, Jungkook." Namjoon sighs and stands up. "For trying to kill you. Rest. I won't try it again."
Jungkook reaches a hand out to him when Namjoon turns to his own tent. He wants to speak, but he knows that trying to make things right won't be done in a night.
He smiles at the tiefling, whose tail sways as he enters the tent next door.
"He must be liked." He mutters. "Around other tieflings..."
"Possibly."
Jungkook scoffs at his tadpole's vague answer. "Have you ever seen one?"
"No."
Again, Jungkook shakes his head at the short answer.
"But," the tadpole continues, "I find him... intriguing."
"Can't you feel if his buddy is making him want to kill me?"
"I have."
"... And?"
"It's something else. It's not him, and yet, it is."
Jungkook groans and quickly shuts the entrance to his tent, shutting out the tadpole's voice.
What does that mean? It's not the tadpole... but also not him? Is there something else in his head?
Jungkook sighs and lays down on his pillows, facing the top and frowning. Does that mean that tieflings aren't this aggressive?
What is going on?

Namjoon growls and pants, blood dripping down from the scar on his cheek. He laughs and wipes the red away, glaring at the man facing him.
He looks like him, with sharp horns and a tail, the same dark eyes and insane glimmer in his eyes.
"Brother! You're not dead yet I see! I failed!"
"Failed?" Namjoon spits a bit of blood onto the stone floor of the temple. "You failed miserably!"
"I thought I'd have killed you with those illithids!"
Namjoon laughs loudly at his brother, lunging towards him, sword in hand and chuckling at the way their blades spark at the hit.
"Come on, Namjoon." His brother growls. "We are both Bhaal's sons, make him proud, won't you? Kill me, take his throne! Before I do it again and make sure you truly die!"
"Me?" Namjoon laughs. "Die?! I've escaped your blade once before and I'll do it again! Some brother you are!"
"Spawn of Bhaal." His brother chuckles. "He should've had one."
"I agree." Namjoon growls, taking his brother's horn in his hands and pushing him down. "The older one stays."
He sets his bloodied sword at his brother's throat and watches the insane glimmer in his eyes. He smiles, and always has.
His brother, his younger spawn of Bhaal.
"Tell me, brother. Where can I truly slit your throat."
"You may find me everywhere!" He laughs. "Even among your own kin! Watch your back, Namjoon!"
"Try your best, Taehyung."
His younger brother laughs loudly and his lips twitch into a familiar, charming smile.
One exactly like Jungkook has.

Namjoon gasps awake. He pants, feeling his cheek and looking for his sword. It's still in its holster, clean. No blood to be seen.
He sighs and rubs his face, groaning and shaking his head.
What was that dream? Who is Bhaal? He has a brother?
Namjoon slowly gets up and takes his sword with him, putting it on his back and making sure it's secure before he leaves the tent.
Yoongi sits there, cutting a few potatoes by the dimmed fire. He nods a hello to the tiefling, who rushes to sit next to him.
"Hey, Yoongi, you're a medic right?"
"Did you hurt yourself in your sleep?"
"No... Well, yes. But also no."
Yoongi raises an eyebrow and points the knife towards him. "Are you going insane? Is the tadpole getting to you?"
Namjoon gulps and looks at him with big eyes. "I... I had a dream last night."
"Oh." Yoongi chuckles. "I'm not a dream-healer. We can find you one on the city, but you won't have any use of me. Shar gave me the powers of darkness, not dreams."
Namjoon nods slowly. "I see... Thank you anyway."
He quickly stands back up and walks towards the forest, cracking his neck to the side when he remembers last night.
A sinister smirk crawls on his face and a shiver runs down his spine. His finger twitch, remembering the elf's soft skin under his grip.
"Hey, Namjoon."
He stops, turning his head back to the cleric. "Yes?"
"Tell me about the dream." Yoongi glances up at him from the corner of his eyes and lays the potatoes and knife back into the woven basket. "I may not be a dream-healer, but I know a thing or two."
Namjoon scoffs and nods, turning back around and taking a seat with him. His mind still sticks with the dream, but also with Jungkook.
The way that he could feel his heartbeat at his throat, and the fear in his eyes.
"When I slept, I fell into a strange dream. It was like I was transported to a different realm." Namjoon says. "I... I was a different version of myself. I fought someone who I called my brother. We had fun, trying to kill each other."
Yoongi glares at him with big eyes. Whatever he was expecting, it wasn't this.
"He cut my cheek, and I cut his neck. We were at it for hours, laughing like psychopaths. He called me the oldest spawn of Bhaal. His oldest son."
"Bhaal?!"
Namjoon nods. "He said that I'd have to kill him to take the throne, or that he'd kill me again to keep it. He said that I could find him anywhere... even among my kin."
Yoongi frowns. "Describe the realm to me. Where you fought."
"It was a temple. A stone circle with symbols at the edge, and a singular entrance and exit. A gate, with a skull above it, it's sockets were filled with red gems."
"Bhaal's home..."
"What?"
Yoongi groans and leans his head down into his hands. "You fought in Bhaal's home. The gateway to hell, as it's called."
Namjoon gulps. The urge of murder is gone in an instant. It was an actual place.
"And... Bhaal?"
"Bhaal." Yoongi sighs. "Is the God of war. God of blood, murder, and sacrifice. He is a God who we as clerics do not worship. He will not grant us the powers we pray for, unless we provide his true bidding."
"Which is?"
"Suicide." Yoongi says. "We must kill ourselves. Trust ourselves completely to him, and pray he will revive us as his trusted spawn."
"Is that what I am?" Namjoon asks. "What about Taehyung?"
Yoongi frowns. "Who is Taehyung?" He shakes his head. "You are something else. Concidering the dream, he called you a son. This isn't used lightly. Bhaal's sons are three. Jimin, the youngest son, who got killed by the oldest missing son, and V, the middle son, who is currently on Bhaal's throne."
"V..." Namjoon mutters. "I had two younger brothers?"
"What do you mean you?"
Namjoon frowns. "This... Taehyung, kid." He snarls. "He called me his older brother. The oldest spawn... It felt so real. All the blood and the pain."
Yoongi's frown deepens. "I... I'm going to get into contact with my brothers and sisters for you when we get to Seoul. I'm sure one of them will know what to do with you."
Namjoon nods and gets back up. Before he goes back to the forest, Yoongi stops him.
"I can't imagine you being Bhaal's son." Yoongi mutters. "You're too fair for it."
The tiefling scoffs and turns his head. "Or maybe the tadpole created that fairness..." He mumbles, and takes his leave into the forest. "And I'm Bhaal's successor after all..."
Yoongi frowns and continues to peel the potatoes, trying to shake the uneasy feeling off of his spine. He knows better.
That wasn't a dream. That was a vision.
And that means that Yoongi had been traveling with a true spawn for weeks. And he was still alive to escape.
°•●•°
"Hey! What are you-! Yoongi!"
Jungkook yells and tugs Yoongi's hand off his arm, pressing the man into an ally.
As soon as they entered the city, Yoongi said he would be going to the House of Grief, and he pulled Jungkook along.
The elf had nothing with Shar and refused to go every step of the way, but when they stood there, before the House of Grief, he saw the concern in Yoongi's eyes.
"Why did you take me here...?"
"I needed you to hear for yourself in how much danger you put yourself in last night."
Yoongi bows to the priestess at the alter, showing her his wrist with the tattoo of his devotion to Shar, and is taken to the back with Jungkook in tow.
Down the stairs to the basement they go, where Yoongi is greeted home by his brothers and sisters.
He meets with the Superior, who takes them into her office.
"Yoongi, son of darkness, welcome home."
"Thank you, Mother Superior." Yoongi bows again. "I am afraid this visit must be short. I have concerning news, and dire questions."
"Ask away, my child."
Yoongi looks at Jungkook and sighs. "I am not a dream-healer, so I cannot say for certain, but I believe that for the past three weeks, I've been traveling with the oldest spawn of Bhaal."
"We WHAT?!"
Yoongi looks up at the Superior and sighs. "He told me about a dream he had, one involving a fight in the temple of Bhaal himself. He mentioned them being sons, and killing each other for the throne. I'm afraid... that this may be a vision, rather than a dream."
The Superior frowns and nods. "I understand your concern, my child. It is, during your unfortunate disappearance, become known that Bhaal's current successor is indeed a spawn by the name of Taehyung."
Yoongi takes a deep breath and grabs onto Jungkook's hand tightly. "Is the oldest son's name known? Have I been travelling with a spawn of the most feared demons?"
The Superior sighs and nods. "Most likely. The name of the oldest is not known, but his description is. We all know what he looks like, thanks to V's cultists."
"Tell me, Mother Superior, please."
"He takes the form of a tiefling male, one with pale skin and dark blue eyes, with long curling horns that tip in blue. It is rumored that these will tip in red when he accepts his position as heir."
Yoongi scoffs and lays his head on the table, squeezing onto Jungkook's hand. The elf's eyes are wide with fear. His heart pounds in his chest and he feels his neck.
It couldn't be true... No. Namjoon couldn't possibly be a Bhaal spawn! But the description, the blood, his sudden anger.
Everything suddenly seemed to fall into place.
Jungkook gulps. "Ma'am, where is this temple? Is it real?"
"It is very real." She nods. "Although, unless you meet a cultists, your chances of finding it are slim, and you have to be lucky not to get killed. Whatever you're thinking, elf, don't do it."
Yoongi glares at the elf and scowls. "Thank you, Mother Superior."
"Be welcome any time, my child, son of darkness."
Jungkook is still filled with shock and fear when they leave the House of Grief. He was almost killed... by a Bhaal spawn no less.
A Bhaal spawn he likes.
Those horns, that tail, he never expected rhere to be so much more behind it. Had he never mocked them, he might've been alive, and not at risk of being killed again.
He would need to find Namjoon to find out the truth of this dream, before it was too late.
°•●•°
"Brother?" Namjoon calls out around the city. He's been roaming, getting stares from citizens all around.
Even in the big city, tieflings weren't seen a lot.
"Brother!" Namjoon growls.
He's getting frustrated. Angry. Itching for a fight, itching for a kill.
With a slight grin, Namjoon rushes past a dark alleyway, taking his sword from its sheath and dragging it along the dirt.
He pants, his fingers twitching at the hilt.
His parasite has been quiet. Its like it's disappeared after the dream.
"Hello?"
Namjoon tilts his head and chuckles, lifting his sword before he turns the corner, lunging forward to stab the person behind it.
Blood drips over the swords blade, and the man on the receiving end chokes on his blood, sinking down the wall.
Namjoon laughs softly to himself, caressing his bloodied blade.
There is a soft crunch behind him, and instantly, Namjoon aims his blade towards it.
His eyes widen when a similar blade is aimed to his throat, with a familiar smiling man.
"You called?"
Namjoon's lips twitch into a smile. "Brother..."
"Namjoon."
The brown-haired tiefling smirks and lowers his sword, opening his arm towards the door of a house not far from them.
"Would you care to finish what our father started?"
"So it wasn't a dream?"
His brother scoffs. "How offensive. I worked so hard on your vision. That worm died because of it, you know."
"You... It was you who showed me the fight? It was you who killed the tadpole?"
"It was me." Taehyung smirks. "Now, please, do our father a favor, and fight me."
Namjoon slowly lowers his blade and watches the blood dripping on the ground. He grins and answers with a simple nod.
The two descend down into the basement, entering the home of Bhaal. A secret hideout where cultists own the sewers and tunnels.
Namjoon frowns at the amount of people that bow to them. It feels strange, but good to be seen. To be one of them.
He has a place somewhere.
"Where will we fight?"
"Do you think you'll fight me in that?" Taehyung points at Namjoon's clothes with a disgusted glare and he shakes his head. "No. Pick a new outfit first. The more skin, the better. Let me see the scars I'll make on your body."
Namjoon growls at him and pushes him back with a sinister smirk. "Only if you do the same. Fighting in armor? Are you weak?"
Taehyung chuckles. "Very well. I shall meet you in the temple. Fenris will guide you, and we shall fight to an honorable death."
"So it shall be, brother."
It was predicted by them. The cultists had seen Namjoon in Taehyung's vision and weren't completely surprised by his visuals.
He looked a lot like his brother, and if that didn't give it away, the lust for blood and murder did.
There was evil in his eyes.
Fenris, one of the lead cultists, was Namjoon's guide in the temple. He showed him Namjoon's old room and allowed the Bhaal spawn to figure himself out.
As Namjoon's eyes fall over every detail, he scoffs at the sight of it. It smells of blood, and conciderering the many corpses hanging from the ceiling, he had his fun with them.
It's a real shame he doesn't remember it. And besides, if the true purpose of him and Taehyung as sons was to kill each other, why didn't his little sibling just... kill him? Why did he have him sent to the illithids?
It doesn't matter. Namjoon will kill him anyway. After all, he was the oldest.
After changing his dirty clothes for the ones he deemed fit, Fenris guides him to the entrance of the temple arena.
Namjoon holds his sword in his hand. His heart pounds at the sight as the stone doors slide open.
It's exactly like in his vision.
A singular entrance, the path he walks towards the center circle, where Taehyung waits for him. And an exit, the gate with the ruby-eyed skull.
Fenris bows him goodbye and shuts the stone door, allowing the brothers their battle in privacy.
Taehyung holds his sword on his shoulders, grinning at his older sibling.
"Namjoon! Look at you! Gone for only a few weeks and back to being Bhaal's son in an instant! I hope you haven't pushed down your urges."
Namjoon frowns. "I... can't say that I haven't."
"You have?" Taehyung chuckles. "That will only make my victory easier."
"Let me ask you something before we begin." Namjoon growls. "We haven't had a chance to talk, and you are my brother."
Taehyung tilts his head and lowers his sword. "Alright." He smiles. "Let's talk."
Namjoon scowls at him and slowly steps closer to his brother. "Why didn't you just stab me in my sleep? Why did have me kidnapped? Why did you have me lose my memory?!"
Taehyung jumps back when Namjoon swings his sword at him, grinning at the sudden anger he sees in his brother's eyes.
"Brother, do you remember me at all?"
"Only from the vision. Only from snippets in my memory!"
Taehyung growls and lunges forward, sword in hand, laughing at the rage that shows in the tiefling's attacks. "I couldn't kill you." He growls. "You killed Jimin! You were the first to try to take father's throne!"
Namjoon growls and screams, twisting his stance to hit Taehyung's exposed chest, grinning at the groan and the blood exposed to his blade.
"Fuck!" Taehyung snarls and holds the large wound on his chest, chuckling at the red staining his hands. "I wanted you gone..." He grins. "Because I couldn't kill you at your full power. Not like that."
"So you threw me to the illithids?!" Namjoon screams. "You dishonored father! You should have stabbed me instead!"
Taehyung sighs. "I should have." He growls. "I should have killed you then! I should have taken your eyes and hung them on my chandelier!"
"You are still welcome to try!" Namjoon laughs. "But don't forget that you were a coward! A coward who stole the throne from me!"
Taehyung scowls at his brother. His older brother. With that stupid grin. With that strength. With those horns and eyes.
His brother was better than him. He always has been.
Now, he was going to truly honor his father. No longer would he be a coward.
°•●•°
Running through the streets, Yoongi chases after the elf. Whatever response he expected from him, wasn't this.
Jungkook ran, he ran through every ally he could, looking for anyone who could possibly be a cultist.
Yoongi, if he knew how to stop him with a spell, would've. But he's chasing the elf, screaming obscenities and curses at him.
"Jungkook! Stop! Come back!"
"I have to find him, Yoongi!"
"No you don't!" Yoongi screams back. "He's a monster!"
"I can stop him! He doesn't want to hurt me!"
"JUNGKOOK!"
Jungkook gulps and slowly comes to a halt, looking back at the half elf with sad eyes. His hair is a mess, his arms hanging limply by his side.
"I... I can't let him die, Yoongi." Jungkook sighs. "I think that he doesn't want to kill people. He didn't want to kill me last night..."
"I had to put a knife to his throat, Jungkook! A knife! A potato knife!" Yoongi grabs him by his blouse and scowls at him. "This eye? Do you know how I got this eye?"
Jungkook looks at him. Yoongi points at his black eye.
"I made a pact with a demon before, Jungkook. I once raised the dead before I resorted to a life of healing. This is my punishment for that pact... Do not follow a demon like I did."
Jungkook sighs deeply and frowns sadly. "I... I like him, though. He's such a good tiefling. He was so good to us. He protected us!"
"Namjoon is Bhaal's son." Yoongi hisses quietly. "Whether you want it or not, he will get back in touch with his true self, and he will kill you!"
Yoongi flinches when a soft chuckle comes from the mouth of the alleyway and he quickly turns his head. He holds his hand out, ready to incinerate whoever caught them.
Jungkook gulps. "Namjoon?"
"Afraid not."
Yoongi frowns. "Than who rudely interrupted us?"
From the shadows steps a man. A man dressed in leaves and gentle colored fabrics. He has piercing green eyes and a friendly smile.
"Not Namjoon, I imagine. Is that who you are looking for? In this... inconvenient location?"
Yoongi huffs and lowers his hands. "I'm not."
"I am." Jungkook says quickly, ignoring Yoongi's stern scowl. "Have you seen him? A tiefling with pretty horns, tipped in blue!"
"A tiefling?" The man tilts his head. "With horns tipped in blue... Yes, I've seen him."
"You have?!"
The man nods and glances at Yoongi with a smirk. "Why are you looking for him?"
Jungkook opens his mouth, but Yoongi quickly hushes him, stepping forward towards the man and leaning to his ear.
"In Bhaal's name."
The man smirks at the whisper and bows to him. "Very well. Follow me."
Jungkook looks at the cleric when he grabs his hand and pulls him along, following the strange man into the manhole not far from their current position.
"What did you do?" Jungkook whispers.
Yoongi looks at him and frowns. He shakes his head and walks after the man, who looks back at them with a smile.
He knows what he did. And he will pay for it. Either for not believing, or for hoping.
"So, may I ask what business you have with Bhaal's followers?" The man asks. "Not many here do not know the way to Bhaal's temple."
"If you know that, then why did you let us in?" Yoongi tilts his head.
The man chuckles and points at his eye, grinning at the cleric's deepening frown. "You're familiar. I feel your evil."
"Evil...?" Jungkook gulps, but Yoongi only shakes his head.
They slowly walk through the dark sewers into a small brick gateway, where they are greeted by two large elves.
One of them frowns and grabs Yoongi's arm, raising his sleeve to reveal the Shar devotion tattoo.
"Hoseok. You brought a sacrifice?"
"No." The man laughs. "I can see it in him, he wants to join us!"
The elves look at Jungkook. The boy is shaking, looking down and not daring to look them in the eyes.
"I... I-"
"What are you here for?" Hoseok asks with a grin.
Jungkook gulps. "I'm here to... to follow Bhaal..." He whispers nervously. "I believe I can be of service to the future God..."
"And how can you?"
"I... uhm..." Jungkook looks at Yoongi with big eyes. The cleric shakes his head lightly, begging the boy not to answer. "I don't know... yet."
The elves look at each other and nod, opening the large stone doors.
Inside are cultists. Many dressed in red and black, and many who recognize the man with the smile.
"Hoseok! You came back!"
"Have you brought the hands?"
"Did you tear them off with your beak?"
Yoongi widens his eyes and watches as the man walks forward. The clothes, the scars...
"Are you a druid?"
Hoseok looks back at him and smiles. "That took you long, cleric."
Yoongi scowls. "You knew. You knew of my eye! You knew of my pact! You-"
"I know who you are." Hoseok's smile drops and he grabs Yoongi by his shirt. "And I know why you came here."
"You... do?"
Hoseok eyes him up and down and smiles again. "Of course. Follow me, I will fix you."
Jungkook reaches for Yoongi's hand, but the cleric is taken away by the druid, leaving the elf alone.
He's handed the familiar robes that everyone else is wearing and walks past the blood-stained floor to change.
Where could he possibly find Namjoon? This place was massive.
His eyes roam the area and he quickly finds a large stone door with a small skull icon above it.
That must be it.
"Hurry."
Jungkook flinches at the man speaking to him and he quickly dresses himself in the robes.
"I... I-"
"You want to support Bhaal, don't you?"
"Of course, but-"
"Than hurry up." The drow speaking to him snarls and grabs Jungkook by his hair, pulling him up.
Jungkook whines and grabs the drow's wrist. The man scowls and pulls harder.
"I'm coming!" Jungkook snarls, managing to free himself from the drow's grip. "Where do we go anyway?"
"The name's Seokjin." The drow growls. "And you'll be getting your mark."
"Mark?"
Before Jungkook can ask any further questions, he's pulled along. What mark? Is it Bhaal's mark? Would it be permanent?
He gulps. Where was Yoongi when he needed him...
°•●•°
The cleric screams at the druid who holds his arm, slowly dragging the needle over his pale skin.
His wrists are tied together. Yoongi is helpless in this situation.
Hoseok has a sharp, red, elegant dagger in his pocket, his free hand roams over the handle and twitches.
Never had he imagined a druid to follow such an insane God.
"Stop this! I do not follow Bhaal!"
"You have to." Hoseok chuckles and continues to dig the needle into his skin. "He would be so, so happy with you, elf."
"Half. Elf." Yoongi snarls.
Hoseok chuckles louder and leans his head down. Yoongi's wrists are covered in blood. Shar's mark has been crossed out, a new design scaring his skin.
The druid licks up the drops of red, grinning at the disgusted cleric.
"You're insane."
"You're naive."
Yoongi scoffs and waves his hair out of his face, using the man's low head to swing his hands around the druids neck and pushing him down to the floor.
Hoseok sneers and whines at the pain, before chuckling and spitting out a bit of blood of his own.
"A true follower." He laughs. "You may think that you aren't, but you create pain! You create chaos!"
"I will not resort to necromancy again!" Yoongi screams. "You can't make me!"
Hoseok tilts his head and slowly gets back up. "Who said anything about necromancy? We need healers too, with how much we hurt ourselves for Bhaal."
Yoongi looks up at him and frowns. "I will not be a follower of Bhaal."
"Then prepare to die."
Yoongi gasps, gulping the fear down his throat when Hoseok jabs the dagger into his stomach.
He looks up at the druid, who chuckles and stabs the dagger into his skin, over and over again.
Blood sinks to the floor and Yoongi quickly falls over.
Hoseok grins and licks the blood off of the dagger's edge, slowly standing up and waiting in the corner of the room.
Patience is required.

In the arena, both brothers are covered in new scars. Some worse than others.
Taehyung has had enough. He likes the fight, but he's losing. He doesn't want to die.
It was the legacy that only one son could live. That the other two would have to die for the last to rise to the throne of godhood.
Taehyung prayed it would be him. He spent nights wishing he could kill his brothers. He spent nights planning out his murder, and when he stood there above his youngest brother's body, he realized he was already dead.
Namjoon stood there in the dark, laughing at his pathetic attempt to be first. There was blood all over his hands.
Namjoon was the first to take the legacy at heart.
Taehyung remembers the numbness as he stared at Jimin's body. His pink horns had been broken, cracked from their place.
There had been a struggle. Taehyung was just ashamed that he wasn't the one having done it.
So here was his chance.
Both of them were exhausted, having held heavy swords for hours now and trying to wound each other.
Namjoon was covered in his own blood. It hurt, badly. But he couldn't give up, not after the trouble he went through to get here.
Those illithids that pried in his mind, the urge he had to suppress, finding his family and almost killing a friend.
He needed his revenge.
With a swift and final strike, Namjoon slices his sword against the skin of Taehyung's hand. The tiefling drops its sword from the pain and growls as he holds it.
"Don't give up now." Namjoon chuckles. "Do you think we're done here?"
Taehyung growls at him. "I was going to kill you! I was going to win!"
Namjoon growls back and pushes his brother down to the floor, lifting his sword and pressing the bloodied tip to the tiefling's bleeding chest.
"You should've thought of that before you threw me to the illithids!"
"NAMJOON! STOP!"
The tiefling flinches, turning his head to the entrance doors. He doesn't move his sword, just in case his brother decides to get up.
The elf stumbles forward, blood trailing behind him. He reaches out, panting and sobbing as he drops to his knees at the edge of the circle.
"Jungkook...?"
"Please, stop..." Jungkook begs. He bows down, placing his hands onto the stone floor in front of him.
Namjoon glances to the blood and eyes him over, finding the cut in his ankle. "Who did that to you?"
"It doesn't matter, please, just stop!"
Namjoon growls at Jungkook's yelling. "Why should I?! He's the one that threw me to the squids! He's the one that ruined my mind! I'm Bhaal's son-"
Jungkook shakes his head. "You're Namjoon!" He screams. "A tiefling who likes murder just a bit too much! A tiefling who can handle weaponry better than anyone I know! A tiefling who put up with my bullshit! You're a fighter, Namjoon, not some stupid blood-god's son!"
Taehyung scoffs and laughs. "This is who was with you all that time? A weak elf? What can he do? Sing?"
Namjoon growls at him. "Watch me stab you, over and over, Taehyung. Watch your fucking mouth."
"You don't have to be a God!" Jungkook cries, slowly getting back up and stumbling forward. "You are one to me! I'd worship you, if that's what you want! I'll kneel for you and bow, I'll sacrifice for you! Just... don't become the creature that so many of us fear."
Namjoon grinds his teeth, glaring down at his brother, who grins at him.
There is a slither of humanity left in him. Through all his rage and anger, he feels Jungkook's pain.
"Namjoon..."
"Give me one good reason." Namjoon growls. "One very good reason not to kill him."
Jungkook gulps. He doesn't have one. Taehyung had been the epidemy of true evil, killing people for fun and ruining their pure bodies for blood and war.
But, he was still his brother. And no matter what some stupid legacy says, you don't kill your own family.
"I... I can't." Jungkook sighs. "But that doesn't excuse you!"
Namjoon glares at him when Jungkook lays his hand on his shoulder.
"Lay the sword down, Namjoon..."
"Hey, elf." The two glare at Taehyung, who chuckles at them. "How'd you even get in here?"
Jungkook grins sheepishly. "I... I may have used some blood to get in."
"Is that why you wounded yourself?"
Jungkook nods.
Namjoon sighs and slowly drops his sword by his side. He glares at his brother. Taehyung looks at him with wide eyes.
He was convinced he'd die... Who was this stupid elf to stop them?!
Taehyung lunged forward, reaching out to claw the elf's eyes out. He wants to kill him. Slaughter him for ruining his legacy!
Namjoon is quick to react, grabbing his brother by his collar and pulling him back, but Taehyung manages to wriggle free and punches the elf over.
Just as he's about to hit him, another voice comes from the entrance doors.
"Ad lapide."
Namjoon looks up with wide eyes as Taehyung's body freezes on the spot. A purple squared chain appears on the floor around him, flashing across his skin.
"Yoongi!" Jungkook yells and quickly gets back up on his feet, running over to the cleric.
He stops in his tracks when he sees the druid behind him, wearing a wide grin. Yoongi's stab wounds are visible, even from the clothes he's wearing. They're torn, and bloodied down to the robe.
"W-what happened?!"
Yoongi glances at him and frowns. "Bhaal." He mutters. "Bhaal is what happened."
Jungkook gulps and looks back at Taehyung, who keeps growling and trying to get himself out of the spell. Namjoon is tapping his shoulder and pulling at his ears, grinning at the fact that his brother is stuck.
One stab is all it takes...
"But how?! You said you worshipped Shar! Where is your mark?!"
Hoseok chuckles and holds up the dagger, sliding it across his throat with a wide insane smile. "Right there."
Yoongi rolls his eyes when the druid pushes his finger into one of the stab wounds.
"... ew."
Namjoon tilts his head. "So, what about Shar?"
"Shar... is a good goddess." Yoongi mumbles. "I saw her when I died-"
"You died?!"
Yoongi shakes his head and points to the many stab wounds with raised eyebrows. "Yes, obviously."
"But... how are you alive?!"
"Let me finish." Yoongi snarls. "So, when I died, I saw all the gods I worshipped before. All of them. Shar, Tyr, Mystra, and Bhaal."
Hoseok chuckles and scowls at the elf, mocking his wide eyes.
"They were talking about where I should go. If I was worthy of one of their heavens. Bhaal, he decided I wasn't done. He grabbed my hand... and I woke up."
"Alive and kicking!" Hoseok laughs. "You even strangled me!"
"You killed me, it was only fair I'd kill you back."
Jungkook gulps nervously. "Does... does that mean you now worship Bhaal?"
"Not necessarily." Yoongi smiles. "But I definitely don't think of him as a monster anymore."
"That's what happens when you finally accept the God."
Yoongi frowns at him and looks him up and down. He scoffs at the amount of blood and cuts he's covered in and slowly walks forward.
"So, son of Bhaal."
Namjoon huffs.
"Got yourself hurt. Want me to heal you?"
"Not needed." Namjoon growls. "All I need is that dagger. Let me finish this."
"Namjoon! No!
"He's stuck now!"
"And I can still hear you!" Taehyung screams. "Let me go you stupid half elf! I'll kill you!"
Yoongi grins and waves his hand, chuckling when the spawn falls to the floor from the uncomfortable position.
Jungkook grabs onto Namjoon's hand and gently pulls him away. "Please, leave with me... Let's make our own new life! Somewhere else!"
Namjoon growls and grabs the elf by his hair, smiling at the gasp and forcing him down to his knees.
Jungkook doesn't understand. Does he want to be worshipped? Bowed to? What changed in him?
The already unreadable tiefling became even more unclear.
"You don't get it, Jungkook." Namjoon grumbles. "I have a purpose now. A life I can live. If you don't want that, just leave."
Jungkook gulps, but hesitantly drags Namjoon's hand to his cheek. Blood trails down from his hair, and he looks up at the tiefling.
"You can have that. You can have it without all of this... You don't have to live in Bhaal's name!"
Namjoon frowns at him and angrily pulls his hair from the back, forcing Jungkook to look up at him. The elf gasps and whines, frowning back at the tiefling.
"Namjoon! Stop it! It hurts!"
"I don't live in Bhaal's name." Namjoon snarls. "It's my name. I live in my name!"
"Who are you, Bhaal's successor?" Yoongi rolls his eyes. "I'll hold you down too. Look, your brother's still finding his balance."
"And when I do- fuck- I'm gonna kill you!"
Namjoon growls at him. "I'll still plunge a knife through your skull. You're lucky I'm not ripping your face off!"
Taehyung growls back at him. The tiefling glances at Jungkook at Yoongi. A smirk crawls onto his face and he quickly grabs his fallen sword, lunging forward and stabbing the blade through the elf's chest.
Namjoon screams, grabbing onto his brother's throat and pushes him back. Taehyung starts laughing, clawing at his brother's open wounds.
"NO!"
"I killed you!" Taehyung laughs. "I killed your humanity!"
Yoongi rushes forward, grabbing the falling elf. He holds his hand over the stab wound, scowling at the tiefling.
He desperately tries to heal it, pulling out the sword and trying to hold himself together. Hoseok watches from a distance, amused at how easily Namjoon begins to punch his brother.
Jungkook pants, slowly grabbing Yoongi's wrist and shaking his head. But the cleric is having none of it. He screams Hoseok's name, and the druid reluctantly comes along to help.
He holds Jungkook's hands to his side and Yoongi takes a deep breath. He uses his own energy. His own life force.
As Yoongi is healing the elf, Namjoon screams at Taehyung, clawing at his skin and using the bloodied sword to stab it into his chest, over and over.
He pants, feeling Taehyung's hand drop from his shoulder.
He did it.
So... now what? Would he ascend?
He growls, his hands covered in blood and he turns and kneels down at Jungkook's body.
Hoseok nods his head at him, and Namjoon scowls back. Yoongi was still hard at work to heal the elf.
What was victory? Why, when he's beaten his brother in cold blood and fulfilled his father's wishes, does he not feel victorious?
Yoongi scowls at him, his eyes shaking with rage during his healing. "Why." He snarls. "Why did you go through with it?! When Jungkook tried to stop you! When I tried to stop him!"
"Now both of them are dead." Hoseok shrugs. "I could ask the necromancer to raise them, if you miss them so much."
Namjoon and Yoongi both glare at him.
"If we wanted to raise someone I could do it better." Yoongi huffs. "And that's not what I'm going for."
Hoseok raises a brow and chuckles, kneeling down and laying his hand on Yoongi's. "I'm a druid, Warlock."
"Do not call me that-"
"I can heal too." Hoseok interrupts him. "Take a break. Before you fall again."
Yoongi glances up at him and sighs, slowly taking his hands away and instead reaching out to Namjoon.
Namjoon only tilts his head.
"If there is any trace of humanity left in you, take my hand and lift me up. If there isn't, stab me and end my life like you did to him."
Namjoon frowns and glances at the body of his brother. A dead man. Does he regret it? He can't answer. He feels no remorse or guilt, but humanity? Is there any left?
He's never found questions this easy and difficult to answer. He's confused. Where were the emotions? His emotions? His sadness, his happiness. He only feels looming rage and a never-ending desire to kill.
He looks down at Jungkook's bleeding body with a sigh. He misses it. The jealousy, the frustration and the happiness that the elf brought him at times.
He left them immediately when they got into the city, and here he was, coming to find him.
Could... Could he feel it again? True happiness?
Yoongi slowly lowers his hand with a scowl. "Are you doubting, Bhaalspawn?"
"I can't change my father."
"Neither can I change the pact I once made." Yoongi sneers. "And here I am, risking everything I do at every living time because of that demon!"
Namjoon growls at him.
"I'm on the run. Constantly. From your brothers, from your father, and from you!" Yoongi screams. "I can't escape my pact! I broke the deal, and I am yet to be punished! You can't change your father, but you can change your fate! Don't fucking listen to his dreamy words!"
Namjoon growls louder and crunches up his nose, baring his sharp teeth. "You made a pact with my father?"
"That's not my fucking point, Bhaalspawn!" Yoongi stands up and pushes the tiefling back. "Ignore him. Ignore every part of you that screams Bhaal! You are Namjoon! A tiefling, not a hellspawn. You can be evil and happy! Get rid of this cult!"
"Hey. I'm part of that cult."
"Shut the fuck up!"
"Okay." Hoseok purses his lips and huffs, glancing down at Jungkook's body.
Namjoon grabs Yoongi's arm and twists it, grinning when he sees the half elf whining. "I am my own man, Yoongi." He growls. "But I'm also Bhaal's son. If someone was strong enough to break out of it, it isn't me. Maybe, my future son will instead fulfill your wishes."
"Namjoon-"
"I would rather stab you with my sword and slice your skin open and use it as a carpet. There is a drive, a lust, and a desire that I can't ignore. And to be honest, one I don't want to ignore. If I give you a chance to leave, would you take it?"
Yoongi frowns. "No."
"Lord, a suggestion?"
Namjoon glances down at Hoseok with a curious grin.
"He made a pact with your family name. You could still punish him. What is true torture but to be forced into a cult?" Hoseok grins. "I could tutor him, if you'd allow me."
Yoongi scowls at him. "Absolutely not! Not by a shapeshifter like you!"
Namjoon scoffs and nods. "You tutor him, Hoseok. But make sure Jungkook gets up first."
"We don't even know if he's going to be revived!"
"He will be." Namjoon snarls. "I will make sure of that, elf."
Namjoon growls and takes his dead brother's body and swings it over his shoulder. He knows better than to argue with the cleric.
"... half elf."
°•●•°
Is this... death?
Jungkook looks around, confused and dizzy.
He's lying on a grass-covered rock in the middle of an ocean of stars. Purple, red, and yellow small moons surround him, like a small crowd.
"Hello?"
There is no one. No one but him.
Jungkook slowly stands up and walks further into the galaxy forest, looking around and trying to find any form of life.
"Hello? Anyone?"
He gulps, frowning when he sees three shadows in the distance. One red, one yellow, and one purple shadow.
"Hello? Sir? Ma'am?"
The red shadow turns its head and immediately reaches a hand out to him.
Jungkook gasps and squeals, his body being lifted by small, red claws around his arms and neck.
The purple shadow lays a foggy hand on the other's shoulder and waves its hand. Jungkook shivers when small spikes run along his spine, pushing him closer to the three.
The yellow shadow merely flies around him as Jungkook is carried into the open space.
He just hopes he won't fall...
"H-hello?"
"He is not him." The yellow shadow mutters. "Your son is here, but not here."
"Speak in words, Ira."
"Wish to learn, fool."
Jungkook gulps. "Son...? Who are you?"
The purple shadow chuckles. "You must be dead. You are my problem then. Let him go, Bhaal."
Jungkook gasps. Bhaal? Dead? What is going on? "I... What?! Bhaal?"
The red shadow growls at him. "What is my name of business to a poor elf like you? I was waiting."
"You... Taehyung? Right?"
The purple shadow raises its brows curiously. "You are familiar with the legacy?"
"I know your son! Sons... I know your sons!"
Bhaal's shadow scowls and growls. "Than why are you here instead of my son?!"
"I was stabbed by Taehyung..." Jungkook says softly. "I traveled with Namjoon for a few weeks... I tried to stop the legacy, but I got hurt in the process."
"Cruel, yet fair." The yellow shadow mutters. "Shar will be pleased."
"You traveled with my son?" Bhaal frowns. "Why? Didn't he try to slaughter you?"
Jungkook chuckles softly. "He tried. He never succeeded. I mocked him a lot. For his horns and tail. And one night he nearly cur my arm off! And the night before we stepped into the city, he tried to strangle me."
"Is there something you need?" The purple shadow asks.
"I..." Jungkook gulps. "Could I go back? Return to my body... with the same bloodlust as him?"
"Pardon?"
"Fool... Bloodluster."
Bhaal grins. "What are you asking?"
"I want to return to my body with your sin, Bhaal. I want to lust for blood the same way Namjoon feels it! I need to stay with him! I can't... I-"
Bhaal holds up his hand and chuckles. "It is done. Make a deal with me, elf."
"God of Blood, refuse temptation... Find truth in kindness!"
Bhaal growls at the spirit. "Keep an eye on my son. Now that he has fulfilled my legacy, I shall disappear. Make sure he kills plenty. Make him his favorite dishes. Make sure to risk everything for him. You belong to me, as much as you belong to my son."
Jungkook gulps and nods. He's ready to give it all up. The perfect life would have been gone anyway.
The tadpole has ruined too much for him to live normally.
Bhaal laughs loudly, quickly grabbing onto Jungkook's throat. The elf gasps and pries at his hands. He scoffs in between struggles, remembering the way Namjoon grabbed onto him back then.
"Death is beauty." Bhaal whispers to him. "Death is relief. It can be gruesome, but in the end, it's always pride. The red petals of roses, spilled underneath your feet. May you fear death the way Bhaal blesses you to see it. Follow my son, and serve him through sacrifice. Promise me."
Jungkook nods again, chuckling as he manages to weakly word out his promise to the God.
He closes his eyes, feeling his body dragging him down.
Bloodlust... how would it feel? How would it taste?
°•●•°
Namjoon screams as he repeatedly jabs the dagger into Taehyung's skin. He tied him up in his room, taking out his bursts on his body, scarring him with blood.
What is he supposed to do now? Wait? Where is his father?
Again, he strikes the body.
"You're doing it wrong."
Namjoon turns his head with a growl and rolls his eyes when he sees the cleric standing in the doorway.
"You should strike down. More blood that way." Yoongi grumbles. "I'm about to start my tutoring, as you ordered. Seokjin said he would be out with us."
"That's fine."
"Oh," Yoongi grins, "and Jungkook is awake."
Instantly, Namjoon turns to him. His knuckles were still dripping with blood, but his eyes were wide with disbelief.
The elf that was stabbed. The elf that stopped breathing. Alive?
His Jungkook... alive?
"Where is he?"
The cleric shrugs his shoulders and turns around. "Waiting for you, lord Bhaal." He grins. "Do him a pleasure, give him a knife. He made my mistake."
"Your... mistake?"
Yoongi nods and bows him goodbye, headed off to his tutoring. Whatever he would be told to do wouldn't be innocent.
If Shar was looking, she'd disown him. It's a good thing Yoongi had already discarded her as his goddess.
From the moment he felt his heart stop, from the moment that he stood before his gods, where he asked their entrance to their heavens.
Shar was no longer worth his sacrifice.
°•●•°
It was unbelievable. Looking at himself in a bloodstained mirror, Jungkook trails his fingers along the stab wounds in his chest.
The blood has long dried. The pretty red that created him also killed him.
They're deep scars on his naked chest, with veins that slowly guide upwards to his neck, where a new red mark spreads over his skin.
Bhaal's mark. Namjoon's mark.
Jungkook hasn't felt any different. He hasn't felt the bloodlust yet. Was Namjoon lying? Has he even felt bloodlust? Or was he just insane?
"Jungkook."
The elf raises his eyes from his chest to the tiefling in the mirror. His lips quirk into a smile upon seeing Namjoon's wide eyes.
He turns around, facing the hellspawn with a bow. "Lord Bhaal sent me." He chuckles. "He needs me to keep my eyes on you a little bit longer."
"If you don't shut up soon, I'm going to kill you myself."
Jungkook flinches at his sharp growl. Was Namjoon not happy to see him?
He gasps when Namjoon grabs his chin and raises it. The tiefling looks at the mark and growls, grinning widely at the shocked elf.
"My father gave you life. To keep an eye on me?"
Jungkook nods. "I like that job."
Namjoon sighs and quickly pulls the elf in for a hug, wrapping his arms around his waist. "Fuck you..."
"What did I do?!"
"You tried to stop me." Namjoon growls. "It ended up killing you."
"He brought me back though..."
"Yes. He did." Namjoon frowns. "But I'd rather have you never died in the first place."
Jungkook looks up at him and slowly wraps his arms around the tiefling's scaled back, gently feeling along the ridges of where the man's wings would be.
"I hated you. I put up with your bullshit for so long. But I loved it." Namjoon mutters. "I'd kill for you. I'd string people to walls alive and have them scream your name for you."
Jungkook flinches a little, but he smiles.
"I'd sow their eyes open, even when they try to close them, just to watch your beauty forever. Your beautiful blood, your gorgeous screams, your heart..."
"It beats only for you now, my Lord." Jungkook whispers softly. "Hang them to walls, serve them their limbs on platters, and celebrate your ascension."
Namjoon slowly pulls away, blinking at him with a confused glare. What was that? Not that he minds, but it does come as a shock.
Jungkook chuckles and smiles at him, glancing down at his bloodied knuckles. He feels it.
The adrenaline running down his spine, itching at his fingers and blurring his mind. The smell of blood is all he wants. It's like the sweetest candy, the hottest spices, and the most lavished meal.
Blood. It was everywhere.
"Did Yoongi come by? Did he come to see you?" Namjoon asks, rubbing his thumb along the scars of the elf's scars.
"He did." Jungkook mumbles. "He examined me, told me I was insane."
"Hm..." Namjoon growls. "You and me both."
"He stared at me when I told him I wanted to rip Taehyung's heart out if I could."
Namjoon shakes his head in disbelief, grabbing onto Jungkook's shoulders with a twitched smile. "I thought you hated violence? That you wanted me to stop? Why do you want to hurt him?"
Jungkook shrugs. "I made a deal. I wanted to know what it was like for you. To crave blood. So I asked your father to let me experience it the way you do."
"You... You willingly want to experience a Bhaalspawn's bloodlust?"
Jungkook nods.
The tiefling scoffs and drops his head with a laugh, shaking his head and grabbing the elf by his throat.
He watches Jungkook's rising smirk when he feels him drag his sharp nails along his shoulders.
Blood trails down on their skin, dripping onto the ground.
"You're a fucking moron, Jungkook." Namjoon laughs. "Such a fucking idiot! I'd kill you if I could!"
"Hurt me then." Jungkook snarls. "Are you scared, Bhaalspawn? Scared to hurt your father's pupil?"
"I killed two. I'd love to kill three, but let's be honest... Yoongi would never let me hear the end of it."
The elf bursts into laughter, punching the tiefling's chest when he lets go of his throat and tugs him along.
"Stop whining!" He chuckles. "Let's go kill something!"
●=|THE END|=●
Questions of the Chapter:
How did Namjoon lose his memory?
Why hasn't Namjoon ascended yet?
Where did the bloodlust come from?
What caused Yoongi's eye?
Who is Hoseok to Bhaal?
Who is Seokjin to Bhaal?
Why did Jungkook choose to live in bloodlust?
I started playing Baldur's Gate 3. It's amazing. Here's some of them in that game! With mods! Cuz that's the closest I can get!
Namjoon
Jungkook
Taehyung
Jimin
And Yoongi!
Hoseok and Jin were difficult to think of and make so it's just them for my uncreative brain.
