"Perhaps you should leave."
[\|<>|/]
Taehyung hissed when he woke up. His mind was blunt and empty, feeling his neck. The two holes of a different vampire bite only stood out more ever since his transformation. It's only been a day.
His senses were sharper than ever in his upcoming life. A New-Blood, his murderer told him, is a newborn child, anticipating to live. With many abilities it has yet to understand. Taehyung didn't know what it meant until now.
Human blood made him insane, so he bought a cottage outside in the woods. It was cozy and welcoming. It was for Taehyung's good.
He left his home, the keys in his pocket as he walked on the path he had pushed away. The scent of sanded wood would get him home.
The scent of warm human blood entered his senses, feeling his fangs grow sharper from only smelling such a pure kind. He followed it, quietly, as if he was invisible on the frozen leaves.
Winter was his favorite season. He wouldn't be able to hurt anyone if they were in their home.
The scent became softer, weaker. Taehyung frowned as he followed it, sniffing every now and then to catch where the human went. He gasped.
In the snow on the ground, a small child crawled his way forward. He was bleeding rather heavily, leaving a trail from his chest.
The child wasn't old. Perhaps only eight or nine. The cracking of snow under his boots made the child flinch. As quick as lightning, he turned around, facing the red-eyed male.
Taehyung tilted his head. "You're wounded..." He mumbled. His thirst was killing him, but he wasn't a monster. He wouldn't kill a child.
The child looked up at him with wide eyes. "W-what are you?! Are you going to kill me?!" He yelled weakly. Taehyung's curious frown softened. "I'm not going to kill you. I want to help you." Taehyung said softly. The child gulped. "What are you?"
"I'm a New Blood... A vampire. But I won't hurt you. I promise." Taehyung smiled. "My name is Taehyung." The child gulped nervously. "My name is Seokjin..."
Taehyung helped Seokjin in his arms, controlling his urges to sink his fangs into the young child. He took him home, immediately cleaning the shot wound and bandaging it.
Seokjin smiled at him. "Thank you..." "Don't mention it. Listen Seokjin, I am a vampire, and I have to feed... But I don't want to kill you. Can you rest while I go out? It won't take long, I promise."
"You promise a lot." Seokjin giggled. "Go ahead. I'll sleep." "Thank you." Taehyung mumbled. "Sleep well." Seokjin smiled at him and patted Taehyung's stomach. "Eat well. Stay a healthy vampire."
Taehyung smiled. "I will. Don't open the door for anyone, I'll be back with my own keys." "Got it, boss!" Seokjin chuckled. "Go on now." Taehyung waved the child goodbye as he left the house, on his way to hunt.
The days grew by, and with the day, Taehyung's need for blood lessened. He didn't need as much as when he just got turned and was able to be around Seokjin without wanting to suck at his neck all day.
Just as now, the two were cuddling up on the couch with a blanket in the cold winter days, the fireplace up and running, a good book in the hands of the vampire as he read it to the sleepy child.
" 'I don't want to.' Riley said as she stomped her foot on the ground. Her mother sighed deeply. Her hopes were running out on the Elf. 'Please Riley, eat your greens.' She said, with her voice softer than the snow on the mountains in Winter, or the falling leaves in Fall."
"Why is eating greens good for you? They taste disgusting!" Seokjin whined. Making a disgusted face at the drawing in the book of a plate with potatoes, broccoli, carrots and meat.
Taehyung chuckled. "It's healthy." "But why?! I bet drinking blood tastes better than greens." Seokjin huffed, crossing his arms. "It isn't much different Jinnie." Taehyung replied. "It tastes like blood, but it's very good for vampires like me."
Seokjin pouted and looked up at him. "Can you turn me so I'll never have to eat greens anymore?" He asked, smiling cutely. Taehyung frowned slightly. "Seokjin, turning into a vampire is not something to joke about. It hurts and it can make you do things so insane you would not even approve of it in that state."
Seokjin flinched at Taehyung's hard tone and looked down. "I'm sorry..." "Don't be sad. You didn't know." Taehyung smiled, ruffling his hand in Seokjin's fluffy brown hair. "Want me to continue?" Seokjin happily nodded.
" 'No!' Riley whined. 'Big brother doesn't eat them!' 'Because he is not an Elf like you, Riley.' Her mother said again. 'Than what is he?' Riley asked. 'I cannot tell you. When the time comes, he will tell you himself.' Her mother smiled. As much as her bright motherly smile was, it wasn't enough to calm the angry girl."
Taehyung looked at his side, seeing Seokjin comfortably sleeping, with his legs on his lap. He wondered who shot him, and why. But it might be sensitive to bring it up. Not yet, Taehyung thought.
The human was cute. But his dreams were not. Seokjin had a mind of his own. Something... unusual, for men of his generation.
His craves for seeing others in pain, or enjoying someone's suffering...
He relived it in his dreams, and Seokjin could only prey that Taehyung wouldn't give him away because of it.
He relived every execution he had been at. It had awakened that burning feeling inside of him. It was all to learn how to behave, his mother once said. Act normal, and you won't be that dangling head. But Seokjin went to every execution. And with every dead man's blood, his mind got bit by bit more corrupted.
And how here he was. Little nine-year-old Seokjin, laying in a vampire's arms. Calmly. He hasn't had the urge to see blood in a long time ever since he met him, even though he was a vampire.
He could only pray...
Taehyung slowly became more aware of what he was. He learned about himself, about his kind, and all the strange changes his body made.
It had been a few years. Seokjin was a teen. Twelve years old to be exact. The boy had hit puberty early on. And it was actually quite annoying the vampire.
"Kim Seokjin! Put that rabbit down!" Seokjin huffed at Taehyung and mocked his words, leaning back selfishly. "Fine. You're no fun anyway." "Would you rather have me show you what I can really do? I'll find a human and take it here so you can watch me kill it nice and slow." Taehyung hissed.
Seokjin bit his lip. "Do whatever." Taehyung frowned. "Answer me. Would you have me punishing you by killing one of your own kind in front of your very own eyes?" He spat. "Yes." Seokjin snarled. "I would like to see that."
Taehyung widened his eyes at Seokjin's reply. "W-wait, what?" "I would love to see their suffering." Seokjin spat. "I want to see their blood splatter over the floor, their heads in front of my feet with their dead eyes and blood seeping from their cut off bodies!"
"What is this?!" Taehyung yelled. "I guess I should finally tell you, huh?" Seokjin snarled. "I'm corrupted, Taehyung. I'm filled with an urge to see human's heads roll. To see their dead bodies and to hear them scream!" Seokjin snapped, raising his voice. "It's all I crave!"
Taehyung stared at him with wide eyes. "Is that... why you were shot?" Seokjin gave him a simple nod. "They said I was a demon." "They're not entirely wrong..." Taehyug mumbled softly. Seokjin frowned. "When I was little, my mom wanted me to behave well. She said if I would act normal, I wouldn't end up like them. But there were too much..."
Taehyung frowned sadly. "You... wanted more of it... Didn't you?" Seokjin nodded. "A lot more." Taehyung smiled. A dark smirk mixed with a genuine smile. "Come hunt with me."
Seokjin looked up at him. "And why all of a sudden do you ask me to? I thought you'd want to keep me away from all your vampirism? What if I suddenly start to act like it?" "You might, but if I don't let you hurt others, you'll be fine." Taehyung chuckled.
Seokjin tilted his head. "Why not turn me into a vampire right now?" "Because I don't want you to be like me. I don't want you going through that mind-ripping pain. Let me tell you something Seokjin. I've forgotten hat human food tastes like. I've forgotten what it's like to live in the daylight. I've forgotten how I used to live before I got turned. And all I can remember is how it happened." Taehyung hissed lowly.
Seokjin huffed. "Fine. I'll just stay at home then. Nice brother you are..." "I'm doing what is best for you. Now please, rest." Taehyung mumbled, once again leaving the house.
Another few years passed in time. Taehyung had grown mature, finally realizing how he should act around the house, how to make human food, and how to take care of a young adult.
Seokjin still wished to be turned, but he didn't complain as much as he usually did. He respected Taehyung's decision and wouldn't go into it anymore. He'd wait patiently for Taehyung to decide for his own.
Taehyung had grown a liking to the human male. Perhaps a bit too much of a liking. He had learned a lot from vampires that he met along his hunts. A few of which he still meets. Seokjin knew them as well, but he still hid behind Taehyung whenever they came.
Hoseok wasn't that scary, but his overexcitement made Seokjin think he was his next prey, and he only wanted to be turned by Taehyung.
Namjoon was a bit different. He was more serious and cold. More strategic and normal. He didn't show off his fangs, he didn't keep his red eyes glowing. He looked more human than anything...
They were in the house when Seokjin slept. What they told him caused shivers to crawl up on his spine.
"There's a Blood Moon coming up." Namjoon grumbled. "Worst time of your life." Hoseok nodded in agreement. "It makes you go all cookoo and crazy." "Only you get crazy, Hoseok hyung." Namjoon growled. "The Blood Moon activated your salivary gland much faster. It makes your throat ache until you literally can't drink any more blood. It hurts. You'll attack anyone near without a second thought to still the ache, that doesn't leave until the moon sets and the sun rises. It's because the Blood Moon sends different scents of blood to us."
Taehyung gulped. "And what about Seokjin?" Hoseok shrugged. "Sacrifice him as your meal or get him to hide as far away from human society as possible." Namjoon nodded. "Even out of sight of the moon doesn't help. It's a natural reaction that most of us despise it and try to get over with as fast as possible."
Taehyung's gaze lifted to the slightly agape door of Seokjin's room. He couldn't hurt the boy. Never. "When does it come?" He asked softly. "Two days." Namjoon replied. "It's best not to feed. It leaves the animals and humans for you to feed from when the time is there. It's the best advice I can give you, Taehyung. Be careful." Namjoon said lowly.
There is more than Taehyung thought about on the night. He liked it when Seokjin slept. It made the house seem calm and like how it was before he got turned. But every night, every minute, he missed him. He wanted Seokjin in his arms.
The Blood Moon... in two days he would have to control himself, or send Seokjin away. He didn't know how bad the pain or thirst was going to be. But he wouldn't let Seokjin become a part of it.
He noticed he'd become a bit overprotective over the human boy. Just because he made a mistake, didn't mean that Seokjin would make the same one. But his mind couldn't bear to leave him alone while he was turning into a lunatic.
He'd have to confront him about it. There was no other way.
The unstillable thirst scared Taehyung. The thought of having to kill innocent humans for a thirst that won't go down hurt him. It had to happen, and nature can't suddenly go like: sure, let's set the Blood Moon to seven thousand years later.
That morning, Seokjin stared at a worried and bothered Taehyung. "What's wrong?" He asked. Taehyung sighed and shook his head. "One day... In one day you have to run." He mumbled.
"What? Why?" Seokjin asked, raising his voice. "Apparently there's a Blood Moon coming up." Taehyung replied. "You have one more day until it rises. When it rises... I won't be... myself." He said softly, thinking of words to describe what Namjoon and Hoseok told him.
"It makes me thirsty. It's a thirst that hurts and won't go away until the moon sets. I will do whatever it takes to still it, which could even mean kill you."
Seokjin frowned sadly. "But what if I don't want to run?" "Then hide. Don't let me bite you." Taehyung begged. "Outside, go as far away from human society as possible. I don't know how many vampires will be on the hunt, but I saved you from near death once. I'm afraid I won't be able to do it a second time."
Seokjin looked down, his own hand weakly holding onto Taehyung's. "What if I don't find the way back?" "I'll find you, and I'll bring you back home." Taehyung replied, stroking Seokjin's hair and cupping his face. "I promise."
Seokjin smiled, leaning forward to press their lips together. Taehyung's eyes widened, but quickly melted into it, still holding onto Seokjin's face.
This might be the first and last time he'd ever gotten to do this...
Seokjin smiled when they parted. "I'll miss you..." "I'll miss you more..." Taehyung said softly. "Promise me you'll protect me?" Seokjin asked, hope in his voice that mumbled past his pouting lips. Taehyung nodded. "We can spend tomorrow and today together, but when I tell you to run, you run, okay?" Seokjin nodded softly.
Seokjin pulled Taehyung with him through the woods, the million lookalike trees covered in snow and ice. Seokjin wore a winter coat, while Taehyung was just in a shirt. They didn't feel any cold other than their own temperature. It was night. The whole day they had been playing around. Something relaxed was a must.
The snow felt nice on Taehyung's skin. He found it beautiful. Snowflakes that slowly fell down to join their family on the trees or the ground, the cracking of the snow when they stepped on it, how Seokjin looked like a human burrito.
Wrapped up in a winter cost, a scarf completely hiding his face except for his eyes and high winter boots.
Taehyung wondered if he found the winters that cold too when he was human. It's been quite a few years. About fifteen since he met Seokjin.
There was a horrible scar on his chest from that night. Taehyung couldn't look at it without feeling a heavy weight on his shoulders.
"Seokjin?" "Yes?" The human looked at him. "Who shot you when we met?" Taehyung asked hesitantly. Seokjin looked down. "My father did." Taehyung could feel his muscles clench at sudden rising anger. "Why?"
"I told you about my abnormality. My father didn't think I was human. He took me into the forest, where no one could hear me scream, and where no one could save me. If only he knew..." Seokjin chuckled. "I'd gladly slit his throat. I was afraid to show you what was wrong with me. I thought you would kill me if you knew..."
"I would never." Taehyung growled. "I'm not human myself. Why would I kill you for being different from normal humans? Being normal's boring anyway." He scoffed. Seokjin nodded. "I've realized that. It's been quite a few years. I was eight. I'm an adult now, and I'm glad to live with you. Somewhere no human can scream at me for being some sort of freak." He spat.
Taehyung chuckled. "But you're my freak." "Normally I'd hit you, but I'll let it slide for now." Seokjin grumbled. "We're both a bit freaky." Taehyung said smiling. "A bit?" Seokjin scoffed. "Alright, we're very freaky." Taehyung laughed softly. "I am more than you."
Seokjin smiled. "This is nice." He said softly. "Walking out here, admiring nature as it grows, with you." He chuckled. "I wish I could be with you forever. Do this every day. Every year until we die."
Taehyung chuckled. "That would be nice. But I still won't turn you." He growled. "I've told you many times, and I'll do it again." Seokjin shook his head. "But what about tomorrow then?" Taehyung frowned sadly.
"I won't then you. It's not worth the pain." He said lowly. Seokjin sighed deeply. "Alright..." "I'll put you to bed tonight okay? Sleep for as long as you want. You'll need it." Taehyung said softly. Seokjin nodded. "It's not worth the pain..." He repeated.
The next night slowly began to get closer, and even though it wasn't there yet, Taehyung could feel the burning pain of thirst.
"Seokjin... You have to leave." He mumbled softly, a few minutes before the sunset. Seokjin nodded sadly. "I'll go by the window. Seems safer." He smiled sadly. Taehyung nodded, embracing Seokjin in a tight hug. "Don't come looking for me. Don't wait. Other vampires will want to suck you empty..."
Seokjin chuckled. "The only one who would be allowed to do that is you." He said softly. "And I won't do that." Taehyung growled lowly. Seokjin quickly pecked Taehyung's lips, which Taehyung gladly kissed back.
A low hiss erupted from Taehyung's throat, a burning pain stinging in his throat. Was it just him or did Seokjin's neck look like a perfect meal? He hissed again, a low growl rumbling in his throat.
Seokjin looked at him with wide eyes. "Taehyung?" "Perhaps you should leave." Taehyung growled lowly, flinching tongue across his emerging fangs, growing to their full length.
Seokjin gulped. Becoming a vampire suddenly didn't seem so fun anymore... "Please let me go..." Taehyung's grip tightened, his thirst growing with the second. Seokjin managed to pull away and quickly open the window.
Taehyung hissed at him and managed to grab his wrist. "Are you leaving me, Seokjinnie?" He growled lowly. "I'm not leaving... I'm saving the part that you treasured the most." Seokjin snarled, pulling his wrist out of his grip and jumped out, running away as fast as his body could.
Taehyung lost his mind. He was thirsty. It hurt. His throat ached and his gums weren't used to the length of his fangs that had grown over his bottom lip.
Scents of all kinds of blood reached him, it fed him up. His thirst was overwhelming him. He rushed out the window, following the overwhelming scent of Seokjin's rushing blood.
Taehyung smirked as he easily outran the human boy. Seokjin was scared... for once he was shaking for what he wanted to become.
Taehyung hissed at him as he managed to grab his shoulder and pull him back, slamming him against a tree mercilessly. He grinned, his white fangs on full display for Seokjin. It was an act of dominance and victory.
Seokjin knew about it.
He bared his teeth as well. He had no fangs, but the action was what mattered. Taehyung tightened his grip and hissed. "You're not the boss over me now."
Taehyung pressed his body against Seokjin's, his red eyes spitting fire at him. "I own you.." He hissed. "I took care of you when no one would! Is this your way of repaying me?!" "Yes. It is." Seokjin growled.
Seokjin gasped and whined when Taehyung pulled at his hair roughly, forcing him to tilt his head as he wasted no time to sink his sharpened long fangs into Seokjin's skin, cutting through his veins.
Seokjin screamed out in pain, clawing at Taehyung's shirt and at his skin. Fangs sharp as knives and ice had made a deep cut, Taehyung sucking at his skin to empty his body of his life-source that kept his heart pumping.
The thick sweet liquid entered Taehyung's mouth, the relief of it making him groan in satisfaction.
Seokjin felt his body weaken, his sight becoming blurry as his heart slowed down. "At least... turn me..." He mumbled weakly. "Oh, don't worry." Taehyung smirked, licking the blood off Seokjin's skin as he leaned in for a passionate kiss. "I'll turn you..."
Taehyung bit into his wrist roughly, licking his lips clean from his own blood. "Take it. Become mine." He hissed. Seokjin clamped his lips against Taehyung's skin, sucking on his flesh to get his blood into his mouth.
He gasped, letting go of his wrist when a painful sting rushed over his body. His throat hurt tremendously, his body beginning to shake and twitch. Seokjin watched as his skin became as pale as the moonlight, the slight red glow it gave reflecting on his smooth skin.
His vision blurred, the melanin in his eyes disappearing until his own blood filled the iris. His heart stopped beating, dying down into nothing more than a last beat of pain.
Thirst grew with his fangs, the sharp edge pushing over his lower lip, ending the transformation with a loud, raspy hiss.
Seokjin looked up at Taehyung, licking his bloodied lips. "The bite hurt more." He hissed again. More clear and thirsty. He snapped his head around to the snapping of a twig, wasting no time to run at it and sink his fangs into whatever hid there.
When the sweet blood entered his mouth he groaned. He was thirsty. Much more than Taehyung was.
Taehyung whined softly. "Nothing left for me?" "You had me as your meal, be happy." Seokjin hissed. "I am.. Very happy." Taehyung purred. "Now, let's still our thirst, shall we?" "Gladly." Seokjin growled.
The town was filled with dead bodies, vampires sucking the life out of them, others hiding or screaming in fear.
Seokjin almost lost his mind. "It smells so good around here..." He hissed. "I know it does." Taehyung growled. "Let's get it."
Taehyung could clearly recognize Hoseok biting and killing whatever came in his path. He acted like an animal. Like a beast.
His partner, however, still didn't care much. Namjoon sunk his fangs into a human with a loud growl, ripping the skin off and dropping the useless body with ease.
Before they could take their next target, Seokjin rushed past them and sunk his fangs into the human skin, hissing of satisfaction.
"Yah! Taehyung!" "I'm here, Hoseok hyung." Taehyung chuckled. "That is my boyfriend, Seokjin." Namjoon tilted his head. "You turned him." "I did." Taehyung smirked. "He's perfect this way."
Namjoon scoffed with a low hiss. "Turning a human on a Blood Moon. Not a very wise decision, but it'll do. He might be thirsty and rude in the first few days. Just make sure he knows his place."
Seokjin hissed at him. "But that's not yet. Now I can still kill whoever I want!" "Right!" Hoseok yelled. "Indeed the time isn't there yet." "So let's enjoy this moment while we're at it." Namjoon smirked, baring his fangs. "With pleasure.."
