Seokjin's POV

"Jin hyung!" I looked up at Taehyung, who ran down the deck, almost falling of how slippery it was. "I told you not even five minutes ago not to run! I just cleaned everything!" I yelled.

"Sorry hyung." He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "Jungkook said he saw something." I widened my eyes and quickly ran towards Namjoon.

"Captain?" "I told you to call me Namjoon. Don't be so formal Jin hyung." Namjoon said smiling. I nodded. "Very well. Jungkook claimed to have seen something, if Taehyung told me then it must be serious." I said.

Namjoon nodded. "He always leaves to tell us himself." Both of us turned to the youngest recruit, who was holding the binoculars. He was focussed on something.

"Someone throw the anchor." Jungkook yelled. Taehyung and I quickly went to work to throw the anchor down, while Namjoon stood next to Jungkook.

With a small bit of trouble, and Taehyung's bandana getting stuck, we managed to let it down and run to the other two.

Namjoon was staring into the water with wide eyes and a fallen open mouth. "What happened? Namjoon?" I asked, snapping my fingers in front of him. No reaction.

I sighed and took the binoculars from him, taking a look at where they were looking. A small splash in the water aside a rock caught my attention.

I narrowed my eyes to take a closer look, when I realized that three different heads were peeking from the rock, even though that one of them just leaned on it.

Two were careful, pulling the mint hair boy's arm. He simply ignored them and leaned his chin on his arms, staring at us.

"What?" Taehyung asked curiously. "Three boys in the sea. I think they... are looking at us." I replied, handing him the binoculars. Taehyung was known in our crew for seeing stuff that we couldn't pick out from the picture.

He gasped. "They aren't boys hyung!" He yelled. "They're... them." "What do you mean they're them?" I asked. "The legends of the sea hyung..." Taehyung said lowly.

"Legend of the sea? I thought we went over this-" "He's right hyung." Namjoon said softly. "I saw it."

I widened my eyes. "They are-" "Mermen hyung." Jungkook said breathtaken. I widened my eyes. "But... why are there three? Don't they travel alone?" I asked. "I don't believe it!"

Taehyung pushed the binoculars in my hands. "Look at the rock again hyung! Look at the pink-haired boy and to the right side just over the rock!" He yelled.

I sighed and looked through the binoculars again. The mint haired boy was gone, the orange-haired was yelling, or so his expression seemed, and the pink one...

The pink-haired boy was yelling something back at him. And behind him... A turquoise-colored fin splashed into the water and back out in the air.

"Where is the mint guy?" I asked, trembling slightly. "Who do you call mint?!" A voice yelled. We looked down, only to be scared boneless. "My goodness!" Taehyung yelled. Jungkook backed away slightly while Namjoon crouched down to inspect the creature.

"What are you?" I asked terrified. "You don't... have legs or a fin!" The boy rolled his eyes, holding onto the side of the boat. "So what? I'm more handsome than those two back there anyway." He chuckled.

I couldn't help but crack a smile. "That's what I always say to myself." "You should." He smiled a gummy smile. Tiny spots, a bit darker than his skin tone, were planted on his skin. His cheeks, shoulders, and hands were covered in them, almost like a disease.

Instead of a tail, he had... a sort of snake-like body. There were small transparent sea blue fins covering them, but no scales or anything that looked like a mermaid's tail.

"What are you looking at?" He asked. "Just your... tail I guess." I replied. The boy looked at it and smiled. "Yeah. I know. Cool isn't it?" He chuckled. "I'm not a sea witch or anything don't worry." He laughed.

I nodded. "It's unusually attractive." Namjoon said calmly. I nodded again. "Yoongi! What were you thinking?!" The orange-haired merman yelled, pulling at Yoongi's shoulder. "What you two also thought but were too scared to do." Yoongi spat.

"But-" "No! They are not dangerous!" Yoongi yelled. The orange-haired grabbed his arm, trying to pull him back, only to yell in pain when Yoongi grabbed his arm in return. Sea blue shocks shot from his hand to the merman's arm, who let go in pain.

"I am not leaving without knowing what they want! I mean, that guy stared at us for ten minutes!" Yoongi yelled. "Come on Hoseok!" He yelled. Hoseok rubbed his arm, blowing it slightly with his breath. "Ow! Why did you do that?" He whined. "Jimin! Say something!"

Jimin shook his head. "You are arguing about nothing. Yoongi, you've talked to them as if you are their friend. Hoseok, you say: 'don't let them see you', yet here you are in front of them. It's no use to leave or to stay." He said softly.

Jungkook and Taehyung nodded understanding. "He's right." Jungkook chuckled, leaning over the edge of the boat with his legs. "And cute!" Taehyung chimed in excitedly.

Jimin looked down, a light blush on his face. "Thank you...?" He chuckled shyly. "I think Hoseok has a point." Namjoon said determinedly. Hoseok looked up at him and tilted his head.

"He is trying to protect who he cares for. That is exactly what I am trying to do with you." Namjoon said smiling. Hoseok returned him a happy smile. "I'm glad someone understands my purpose!"

I frowned. "But exploring isn't a bad thing!" Yoongi looked up at me. "See? He thinks I'm right." He crossed his arms childishly. "Indeed. He is handsome, cute, and not scared to take a little risk." I pointed out, causing Yoongi blush slightly.

Namjoon chuckled. "Can you guys get on land?" He asked. The three looked at each other. "We never tried before." Jimin said shyly. "Than this is a moment to do that!" I yelled happily. "Jungkook, roll out the ladder and the boat. Tae, help these lovely creatures on there. Namjoon, you help them up on the ship. And I'm going to say down some clothes!" I yelled.

I ran into the storage room, immediately snatching a few cute combos of clothing from the drawer. I ran back onto the deck, seeing Jimin as the first to try to climb on. He bit his lip, splashing his tail in the water trying to get onto the boat.

Taehyung laughed and pulled him on. Jimin yelped, his tail was fully out of the water, only to disappear in little scales that formed into... legs... Well, look at that.

Taehyung and Jungkook both stared with wide eyes at the merman, who now had legs... And was human? I don't really know what to call him now.

"Hey! What are your names?" Yoongi asked suddenly. I looked at him and smiled. "I'm Seokjin, but people call me Jin for short. The captain, Namjoon. And our youngest recruits, Jungkook and Taehyung." I introduced them. "They call me Tae!" Taehyung yelled happily.

Yoongi smiled. "Jin fits you! Too bad we didn't meet you earlier." He chuckled. "I mean, Namjoon is a really cool name for a captain. Let's be honest." Hoseok chuckled and smiled. Namjoon returned him a smile. "Thank you Hoseok." "Call me Hobi!"

Namjoon pulled Jimin onto the boat with a slight bit of trouble. He wobbled a lot and was clearly out of balance. Jungkook quickly caught him and smiled. "You okay?" He asked. Jimin smiled and nodded. "Just... confused. I feel weird with these!" He whined, pointing at his legs.

"Me next! Me next!" Hoseok yelled happily. Namjoon chuckled at his enthusiasm. "He's pretty cute, is he not?" He asked me. "He is very happy, I can tell. But maybe all that happiness isn't for me." I chuckled. "Suit yourself." Namjoon shrugged.

I looked at Yoongi, who curiously stared at me. "So... what's life like as a human up there?" He asked. "It's alright, if you leave wars behind and all that awful stuff. That's why we sail across the sea." I replied smiling. Yoongi tilted his head. "You have wars on land too?" I nodded. "And you have them underwater?" He nodded.

Hosrok wrapped his arms around Namjoon his neck as support. He laughed and moved his toes. "These things are weird!" He exclaimed. Yoongi chuckled and used the sides of the ship to climb onto the boat, shivering of the unknown feeling going up his legs.

He almost fell down from the ladder a few times before Namjoon grabbed his arm and pulled him up. Yoongi thanked Namjoon quietly before managing to balance himself slightly. He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled shyly.

"So... do you have clothes for me too?" He asked. I chuckled and nodded. "Come on. Walk to me, baby steps." I smiled. Yoongi frowned nervously and hesitantly stepped forward, almost losing his balance.

After one or two minutes, Yoongi managed to make it to me, falling into my arms like a child. He chuckled shyly. "Sorry..." I smiled. "Never apologize for learning something." I held my arm under his for support, walking him around a bit.

Yoongi smiled and managed to stand on his own finally, holding his balance. "Thank you Jinnie!" I tilted my head. "Jinnie?" "It sounds cute." Yoongi said pouting, messing with the different pieces of fabric.

I chuckled. "I am pretty cute." Yoongi sighed. "You were supposed to say something good about me!" He laughed. "Jin! What is this?" He whined. "It's a shirt." I chuckled. "Pull it over your head."

Yoongi laid the shirt on top of his hair, pouting childishly. "Like this? But it looks nothing like yours!" I burst into laughter. "No, no. Dear Yoongi, let me show you." I took the shirt from his hair and pulled it over his head, guiding his arms. "There. A nicely dressed young man... Half dressed." I chuckled.

I helped him with the other clothes, causing Yoongi to whine at the weird feeling. "Get it oooff! It feels weird, I don't like it Jinnie!" Yoongi complained. "Jinnie!" "Alright, alright!" I yelled. I grabbed his waist and set him down on my lap, laying my head on his shoulder. "Quiet now."

Yoongi pouted and crossed his arms. "I'm jumping back in the water if I have to!" He said childishly, squirming around in my grip. "Shh, it's okay." I said softly, stroking hid hair calmly. "It's okay."

Yoongi calmed down slightly, leaning his head back against my shoulder. "I wish you were a merman... Or whatever I am." He sighed. "You don't know what you are?" I asked shocked. Yoongi shook his head sadly. "I have no parents. At least none that I know of. I definitely don't look like them and they don't allow me near other merfolk because they're scared that I'll shock them."

I looked at him sadly. "Than why don't you find out?" I asked. "We are too far away from the merfolk to find out. Hoseok got banished for going up without permission and Jimin swam away." Yoongi explained.

"We all have scars that we can't heal, and sadly, have to live with. I know I was cursed." He said softly, pouting and looking at his skin. "Every week new spots will come by and decide to throw a party on my body for eternity."

I couldn't help but chuckle at his statement. "Party for eternity?" Yoongi nodded. "In a few years my whole body will be filled and I'll die. I used to be an empty canvas. Now I'm painted with sins and mistakes." He said sadly. "They won't go away until I find true love. How cliche, huh?" He chuckled.

I nodded slowly. "It's sad. How did this happen?" "I accidentally killed someone. I was young. Inexperienced. I didn't even know that I could shock merfolk!" Yoongi yelled. "Hey, hey, hey!" I yelled. "Calm your tail down a bit!"

Yoongi chuckled. "Why?" He tilted his head at me. "Because else I'll tickle you." I threatened. Yoongi raised his eyebrow at me. "Is it like our tickling?" "Probably." I chuckled. Yoongi hid his chest with his arms. "No tickles..."

I chuckled amused. "Don't worry about it. You're good to go. Well, except the sea of course. I can't swim..." Yoongi burst into laughter. "A pirate who can't swim?" He laughed. "I know tons of people who can't swim!" I protested. "But are they pirates?" Yoongi asked.

"... No..." Yoongi chuckled amused. "See! It's ridiculous!" "You hide yourself from everyone and everything on the land, like how dare you!" I yelled. I held my finger up for a few seconds, trying to think of something to say, while Yoongi stared at me with crossed arms.

"How dare you. You are too cute and too handsome and too unique to hide in this pool of unknown deepness. Come out for once, get some fresh air." I said quickly. Yoongi burst into laughter again. "Alright, alright. I am very cute and handsome." He chuckled.

"Yoongi! Yoongi! Yoongi! Yoongi!" Hoseok yelled happily. "Look at me! I'm running!" Yoongi looked up at Hoseok, who was running circles around the deck." I gasped. "No! Don't run! I just cleaned-- everything..." I sighed, seeing Hoseok slip and fall on his bum.

He whined of pain. "Joonie!" Namjoon smiled amused and helped him back up. "What is running?" "Really fast swimming." I answered. Yoongi nodded understanding. "But on legs." He finished. "Exactly."

Yoongi pouted and laid his head against my shoulder. "I wish you were a merman. I can't be up here all the time, I'll miss the water and go back and never see you again." He said sadly. "Maybe they can be!" Jimin exclaimed suddenly.

We all looked at him with surprise. "You know... how once a year the king allowed us to transform humans? Maybe if we beg than we can turn... them..." He said shyly, burying his head in the crook of Taehyung's neck.

Yoongi growled. "I am not bowing for that fool!" He yelled angrily. "Not even if it meant to be with Jin forever?" Hoseok asked, tilting his head. "I know I would do it."

Namjoon raised his eyebrow. "Do we get a saying in this?" Hoseok looked up at him sadly. "Don't you want to be with me forever?" He asked. "Of course I do. I was just asking, maybe one of us wants to stay human. Anyone?" Namjoon looked at us. No one raised a hand or spoke anything.

"Than it's settled that we are up with the idea." Namjoon said smiling. Yoongi smiled at me. "I guess... I could make an exception for once..." He said softly. "Than we have to leave!" Jimin yelled. "Before it's too late... We need to come up with a good reason that won't get us killed in the meantime."

Hoseok agreed. "If we want to be on time... It might take two full days before we arrive if we swim non-stop." Yoongi whined. "So long..." "Do you want to be with him or not?" Hoseok asked annoyed. "Of course I do!" Yoongi snapped back. "Than stop whining like a little fish and jump into that water and swim for our love lives!"

Yoongi frowned and stood up. "Than I will." "I'll leave the clothing if we aren't allowed to turn you. Promise to wait here for me. I'm coming with you if you can't join me." He said lowly.

I nodded. "I won't leave without you." I said smiling. "And what about us three?" Jungkook said frowning. "What do you mean? If we can't we'll learn to be human! Right, Hobi?" Jimin said smiling. Hoseok nodded smiling. "It's either them coming to us, or us coming to them."

"Than let's not waste any time! If we can get permission then I can't wait to see what Jinnie's tail looks like!" Yoongi yelled, already messing with his shirt. He pouted and crosses his arms. "Jinnie? Help me?" He asked childishly.

I chuckled and pulled his shirt over his head, again helping with his clothing. He smiled and pecked my lips shortly. "Thanks, Jinnie! I'll see in a few days, don't leave me okay?" He asked. I shook my head. "We'll stay here."

He smiled and waved shortly, waiting for the other two, who quickly followed. We watched as they jumped into the water, their legs turning into the well-known tails. They turned around to us one last time, smiling and waving before they swam away.

I gently touched my lips, a happy chuckle slipping past them. "Oh my Lord..." Namjoon sighed. "Am I dreaming?" I shook my head. "They're real..."

"Jiminie is so cute!" Taehyung squealed. "I know! He is so shy that makes him so vulnerable that makes him so adorable- I just can't!" Jungkook joined in.

Namjoon chuckled and smiled, leaning over the fence next to me to see the three mermen just before they went out of sight. "What a miracle, huh?" Namjoon asked softly. "I can't believe someone as responsible, yet so childish as Hoseok exists..."

I nodded. "Someone as daring and curious as Yoongi. It's unbelievable. It hasn't even been five minutes and I already miss him." I said softly. Namjoon chuckled. "Someone's in love." He smiled. "Look at yourself. Drooling over Hoseok." I grinned.

Namjoon smiled and nodded. "I'm admitting it. I do love him. And to believe that I thought that love at first sight wasn't a thing. Look at us." He chuckled. "Falling over head and heals for them. Or in their case, head to fin."

I missed my Jinnie... It's been half a day and I feel like dying. I wish I could swim with him right here, through the coral, between the fish and the water. Dreams... why do we have them?

On moments like these, I like to imagine. I'd want to feel the touch of someone or something. Maybe seeing them or it. Until I see the royal fool, I'll hold onto those dreams.

K.SJ🐚

I stared with confusion. Ever since Jimin left, Taehyung and Jungkook have been working out daily. The two laziest members, working out. I must be dreaming.

"When are you taking a break? Your sweating all over the place." Namjoon chuckled. "Not until Jiminie comes back!" Jungkook answered in between pants. "We have to have a good body when we turn-"

"If we turn at all." I cut him off. Taehyung panted heavily and fell down onto the deck. "I- I need to take a break... A short... short break. Oh my Lord..." He panted. Jungkook growled. "Come on Tae! Just a few more!"

Their muscles were tense and in pain. Bet you for five gold coins I need to path those two up or at least give them some medicine. Placed your bet? Good.

Taehyung pulled his shirt up and frowned. "My abs have walked away!" He whined. "You... never really had them in the first place Taehyung." Namjoon chuckled. "I did! When I was little..." Taehyung said softly.

Jungkook pulled his shirt up as well, quietly yelling a 'yes', when a light outline was visible of his so-called 'abs'. "I got it!" He yelled happily. "Hey, that's just because you ate less last night." Taehyung spat childishly. "I bet you if I diet, then I'll get that at the end of the day."

I rubbed my face of exhaustion. "Tae, dieting is a serious thing. You can't say: I'm going on a diet, and you're done. You actually have to keep it up." I explained. "How do you know?" Taehyung spat, ticking his tongue out. "I am on a diet." I replied.

All three looked at me surprised. "What?" Namjoon asked. "Since when?!" "Since I joined the crew. I've been training, eating on a daily basis with greens and fruit to keep my body healthy. I do the normal amount of exercise, and become a mother to these two kids." I explained, pointing at Taehyung and Jungkook.

"And as you can see," I started, pulling up my shirt with pride. "I don't even have to do that much anymore." Taehyung and Jungkook both stared with frustration. "Why didn't you say so earlier? Now we have to do all this stuff." Taehyung whined. "Yeah!"

"Because you never asked." I replied with a chuckle. "Now chop, chop. One day has passed, you don't have much time. Let me help you diet." I said smiling. The two immediately nodded, sweat running down from their bodies. "Please... some water." Jungkook panted.

For the past 2 days, I've been training these three men. Eating goes a lot harder than expected, but training actually goes pretty easy. They constantly wanted an unhealthy snack, or hang back lazily like panda bears.

Finally, the system was getting into their heads. Slowly but surely, they started helping with different chores, eating healthier and spending more time together instead of focussing on their own tasks.

"So, remember when I almost fell?" Taehyung laughed. "Of course. We were there." Namjoon chuckled. "Well, that actually happened because my bandana got stuck again!" Taehyung laughed. Jungkook grabbed his bandana. "This thing will get you killed one day." He chuckled.

Two more days went by. Slowly but surely, I was starting to get worried. What if something happened? What if they didn't make it? Or worse...

"Faster!" I growled lowly at the sound of the guard's voice booming into my ear. "I'm doing it as fast as I can, sir." I said in between gritted teeth. I sighed and continued to clean the hallway.

The king was using us at this point. If we were to be forgiven we'd have to clean the castle. I was working my tail off here!

My tail is not a brush! It's a delicate piece of unique art on my body! Finally, after one whole day, 24 long tiring hours, I was done. I was exhausted, and it seems like Jimin and Hoseok were too. Jimin hung limp from the pain in his back and Hoseok was rolling his shoulders, hissing in pain.

"Are you guys also just about to fall asleep?" Jimin asked huskily. I nodded. "I swear, we are just tools for that guy..." Hoseok whined. I nodded in agreement. "Now let's hope we can get that potion... or four."

I spend hours staring into the sea. When was he going to return? If return at all... "I miss Jiminie..." Taehyung said softly. "Me too." Jungkook whined sadly.

Namjoon leaned his chin on the palm of his hand. "Hoseok is so energetic and happy. He'd never let anything happen to them." I nodded. "And Yoongi, with his amusing stubborn attitude can argue for days." I chuckled.

"What are you all crying about?!" I gasped and looked over the fence, smiling as I had never before. "Yoongi!" "Jinnie!" Yoongi yelled happily. "Jump down! We got them! With a lot of pain and begging but we got them!" He yelled.

Namjoon smiled widely, his dimples on full display when Hoseok quickly came in sight. "Hobi!" "Joonie! Look what I got!" Hoseok yelled happily, holding a small shell bottle in his hands. The same bottle was carried by Yoongi and Jimin... two by Jimin.

"Jiminie! I'm jumping down!" Taehyung said quickly. "Ah, Tae." I said lowly. Taehyung whined and rolled out the ladder instead. "You're no fun hyung!" I chuckled and went down from the ladder, feeling the water soaking my clothes. Ugh... so uncomfortable...

Yoongi quickly swam towards me, helping me into the water as support. "Don't even try to swim." He said with a chuckle. I smiled. "Thank you..." "Don't mention it." He smiled happily. "Drink this."

Yoongi handed me the bottle, popping it open from the strange coral-like material that was holding the liquid inside. He handed it to me with a smile. I was about to take it when Hoseok stopped me.

"Hold up! Hold up!" He yelled quickly. "Remember? They said to not have anything on! No clothing, no jewelry, nothing! I can't believe I almost forgot that..." Hoseok yelled.

I bit my lip slightly. "Yoongi, can you hold me now?" I asked shyly. Yoongi nodded happily. "Take your time Jinnie." He said softly. I quickly took off my clothing, no clothing or jewelry left on my body.

Yoongi passed me the bottle again and I quickly swallowed the liquid. It was so uncomfortable. Taehyung, Jungkook and Namjoon had taken theirs as well, sadly I was the only one that never learned how to swim...

I expected pain, a sting or anything painful to happen to me, but instead it was a gentle tingle. A soft, comfortable feeling that spread over my legs. I watched with amazement as my legs formed into a pretty amber colored tail. The once uncomfortable water felt like home as Yoongi carefully let me go.

Instinctively, my tail moved on its own, keeping me from either sinking or doing something that I don't want. I widened my eyes once I realized what I was doing. "Oh my Lord... I'm swimming... I'm actually swimming!" I squealed, hugging Yoongi tightly.

Yoongi quickly hugged back. I smiled when I looked at his skin. "Yoongi? Where are the spots?" I asked softly. Yoongi widened his eyes of shock and looked at his hand. "They're... gone." He said softly. A wide smile spread across his lips. "Jinnie! You broke it! You broke it!" He yelled happily.

Hoseok 'awed' and smiled. "Jin! You saved him! With true love I guess." He chuckled. I smiled widely. "Am I your true love?" I asked. "My only and true love." Yoongi said smiling. My heart was raising. I quickly hugged him close to me, placing my lips on his happily. "Thank the Lord it was me! I would have been heartbroken if it was someone else."

"I would have been too. I missed you so much when I was gone!" Yoongi yelled. "Now you won't ever leave me again..." "Never." I said smiling.

"I found true love too~!" Hoseok yelled happily. "Not the only one, but I can't choose!" Jimin whined. "Ow, can I keep both of them Hobi? Please?" He asked shyly, pouting cutely. "How can I say no to that face?" Hoseok laughed. "We're one big family!"

We were one big family. We may not look like each other. Different tails and such. Namjoon had an aqua colored tail, very pretty. And Jungkook and Taehyung were gifted with a red and orange colored tail, also very pretty.

We decided to roam around. No rules, no one to tell us what to do. Just simply, live. And let me tell you, those workouts paid off for Taehyung and Jungkook.

What about the bet? Oh... uhm... Can I come back to that in a few years? Yeah, good. Okay, I got to swim now, I need to catch up you know. -nervous chuckle- Aah, bye!

The End
