⚰Holiday Fairy⚰
Halloween. A feast of trick or treating and pumpkin carving. Taehyung wasn't really feeling it this year. His lights were out so children thought he wasn't home, and he was laying in his bed with the TV on and a bowl of sweets in his arms.
Taehyung isn't really a fan of Halloween. It scared him. He was watching Netflix because all that showed on TV were Halloween movies. He was watching Hwarang.
(I know it's not on Netflix but it's just amazing)
"You promised?" Han-sung asked with disbelieve in the series. "You promised!"
Taehyung sighed. He wished he could have someone that close to him besides the ghost of his loneliness.
He continued to watch the show. All episodes until it was done and switched to a different show.
He yelped when the clock struck 12. Taehyung was too worked up about it. He heard the doorbell ring a few times. He didn't want to open the door.
He abruptly looked to his side when he heard soft giggles. High pitched giggles. Taehyung bit his lip, quivering in slight fear. "H-hello?"
No answer. The sudden giggling stopped.
A small bit of movement shuffled in the drawer of his bedside table, the drawer moving in its slot. Taehyung's eyes widened. He gripped the bed sheets and pulled the drawer open, yelling loudly.
There was a small human... one foot tall, small orange and black transparent wings, pointy ears with crystals and shiny accessories. He had plump pink lips and a snow pale skin with wood brown hair and some highlights of a pumpkin orange. Pretty amethyst purple eyes stared at him.
"Hello!" He waved. Taehyung yelled and closed the drawer quickly. The voice whined. Taehyung gulped and bit his lip as a bit of fear.
Small particles of orange and silver fairy dust came from the drawer as it open just wide enough for the fairy to get out of it.
The fairy pouted and crossed his arms, flying in front of Taehyung's face. "Rude human!" He whined. "Is this how you greet a Halloween Fairy?!"
"H-Halloween f-fairy?!" Taehyung yelled. The fairy nodded, holding his hand out with a smile. "I'm Jimin!" Taehyung hesitantly reached his pink towards him, letting Jimin shake it. "S-so... f-fairy..."
Jimin tilted his head. "Why are you so surprised? Why aren't you happy? It's Halloween!" "It's literally 12 AM..." "So it's the beginning of Halloween!" Jimin yelled happily, resting his body on Taehyung's bed. He hummed happily and crawled into the blanked.
Taehyung was starting to think that this little fairy was not that evil...
Jimin smiled at him. "Why aren't you happy?" He asked again. "I'm scared of Halloween." Taehyung mumbled. Jimin pouted. "Scared? But it's a time of candy and spooky love!"
Taehyung shook his head. "It's cute to see kids dress up, but sometimes it scares me..." Jimin flew towards him, cupping Taehyung's cheeks in his too-small hands, so he ended up cupping his lips into a pout.
"Think of the candy! All the lights and the happy times you spend with family-" "Halloween is for kids Jimin..." Taehyung cut him off. Jimin's smile faded into a concerned frown. "For... kids? No, no, no! It's for all ages!"
"When I was thirteen my parents told me I was too old to go trick or treating..." Taehyung mumbled. "Ever since then I kept whining to go. My parents told me the dark side of Halloween. Why grown-ups like me shouldn't do such childish things anymore."
Jimin gasped, his tiny hands covering his mouth in shock. "What lies did they tell you?" He asked, resting on Taehyung's shoulder.
"That dark monsters come out at night, picking the grown-ups and teens, luring them and killing them once they're lost in the dark woods."
Jimin shifted his hands. "It's not entirely a lie..." He mumbled. Taehyung grabbed him by his wings, making the small fairy squeal and whine. "Tae! It hurts! Let go!"
Taehyung instead grabbed his small shirt. "Do you mean that if I go trick or treating now I will get killed by horrifying black ghost monsters?!" He yelled.
Jimin shook his head. "Nope! The monsters are the ghosts of the former Halloween spirits! They make the mood! It's true that they're there, but they're harmless! Actually very good ghosts!"
Taehyung tilted his head confused. "So... They told me lies?" Jimin nodded. So the candy will turn into dust if I touch it is also a lie?!" "I don't know where you got that stupid idea from, but yes. It's a lie." Jimin crossed his arms. "Listen up Tae, I'm going to lead you around Halloween tonight!"
Taehyung frowned sadly. "But how? I'm scared that the pumpkins will eat me... There's something about that glowing that I don't trust." Jimin rolled his eyes. "Close your eyes." He smiled, managing to fly himself out of Taehyung's grip.
Taehyung hesitantly closed his eyes. "No peeking!" Jimin giggled. Taehyung pouted, but listened. He felt a soft ticklish feeling on his body, and suddenly, the blanket seemed way too big.
There was something he didn't know that was wrong, but it was. He just couldn't pick it up.
"Open your eyes!" Jimin giggled. His voice sounded very close as Taehyung carefully opened his eyes. He yelped when Jimin hovered right above his head, but... he seemed taller.
"What the quack!" Jimin tilted his head. "Quack?" "It sounds fun." Taehyung pouted. "But why are you so close to me?! And how did you grow so fast?" Jimin giggled. "You shrunk silly!"
Taehyung's eyes widened and he quickly looked down at himself. His body was covered by the blanket which was heavy underneath him.
He looked at his hands, seeing they were slightly bigger than Jimin's. They could shake hands now instead of holding a pink. He was lucky that his clothes shrunk with him. He felt at his ears, giggling softly when his fingers tickles the pointy part.
Jimin smiled at him. "Come on! Halloween won't wait!" He laughed. "Wait!" Taehyung yelled, crawling himself out of the blanket and flying towards him. "How long does this last?" Jimin pouted. "Don't you like it?" "I do!" Taehyung protested. "That's why I want to know!"
"Until 6 AM." Jimin replied. "That's when our Halloween magic runs out, and the day fairies fill in." Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Than why were you in my drawer?" "It smelled nice..." Jimin pouted.
Taehyung smiled. "It's okay Jiminie!" He pinched his cheek. "You're cute, so it's alright!" Jimin's pale cheeks blushed a soft pink, a smile forming on his plump lips. "Thank you..."
He suddenly frowned. "Those clothes though." He whined. "You can't go out like this!" He giggled. "Ready for a new look? More fairy-like?" He asked excitedly. Taehyung nodded happily.
Jimin cupped his hands in front of his face, blowing his fairy dust from his hands, the particles covering Taehyung's pajama and replacing them with similar clothing that Jimin was wearing. Accessories and jewels included for free.
Taehyung's top was a cute transparent orange blouse with short sleeves, and he wore cute shorts in black. His hair was black, his own orange and silver fairy dust glinstering within his hair, like Jimin.
Jimin wore a more feminine look, but he definitely pulled it off. He wore a white with an orange long-sleeved button-up blouse, also transparent, and had black jeans that perfectly hugged his legs.
Taehyung's wings were orange, with black against the sides like a butterfly in a sunset color, while Jimin's were the opposite and lighter, like amber.
With a wide smile, Taehyung embraced Jimin in a tight hug. "You're so cute! How can be a Halloween fairy and not a Valentines fairy or something?" He asked.
"Valentine fairies die very early. I'm glad to be a Halloween fairy." Jimin protested. "Why do they die so soon?" Taehyung asked. "We are assigned to someone. Valentine fairies to humans who are single. If they find love, their fairy dies." Jimin explained.
"I die when every child on Earth stops believing in Halloween. The same goes for Easter fairies, Christmas fairies, and Tooth fairies." Jimin listed. "I think the Dream fairies too... No, no, not the Dream fairies..."
Taehyung tilted his head. "So if I never stop believing in Halloween you won't die?" Jimin nodded. "For me, yeah, I've been assigned to you, so you cause my death."
Taehyung pouted. "You make it so sad. What if I die?" He asked. "Than I die too." Jimin answered. "Anyway! Halloween doesn't wait! Come on!" Jimin, with a lot of trouble, opened the window slightly and managed to squeeze through, Taehyung following him.
Taehyung yelped and almost squeezed his body back inside when Jimin pulled his leg back. "No! They're nice!" "They're scary!" Taehyung protested. "They're. Nice!" Jimin yelled.
He pulled Taehyung down to the street, where Halloween ghosts roamed. They only had eyes, a shadowy silhouette and a mouth, glowing in white.
"Jungkookie!" Jimin smiled, pulling a whiny Taehyung by his leg with him. "Jimin!" One of the ghosts looked up from the children, smiling slightly. "Jiminie... Who's that?"
Taehyung pouted and dangled upside down, waving shyly. "Hai..." He mumbled. Jungkook chuckled. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." Taehyung frowned. "Very funny." He spat.
Jungkook tilted his head. "What's down with him?" "Ha. Ha." Taehyung stuck out his tongue childishly. Jimin let him go, earning a death glare from Taehyung. "Little... cutie..." He mumbled.
Jimin giggled. "Thank you Tae! This is Jungkook, a good friend of mine!" Taehyung looked up at Jungkook. "It's scary that you're so big and I'm so small..." "That's also what Jimin said to me when he met me." Jungkook chuckled. "He even told me he wanted to marry me when he was a little fae."
Taehyung snorted, holding in a laugh. Jimin stomped his foot in the air. "Hey! That was years ago!" "But we have memory like the universe, little Jiminie." Jungkook chuckled.
Jimin pouted and frowned. "Meanie..." He mumbled. Jungkook smiled. "You know I'm messing with you." "Yeah..." Jimin sighed. "But it hurts you know!" Jungkook tilted his head. "What does?"
"To know that I'm always alone." Jimin said softly. "Humans get love and relationships. I'm just a fairy meant to make people happy. I don't get love like them..." Taehyung pouted. "You never know. Love comes and goes, but if it stays is the true question. You can be in love, but are you happy?"
Jimin looked down, shaking his head. "No... I'm not." Even Jungkook looked surprised at that answer. "What? Why not? You're... You're a Halloween fairy, you're supposed to be happy!" He growled. Jimin sighed deeply. "That's why. I'm supposed to be happy all the time. I'm sad sometimes, but I'm not allowed to show it, because I'm a fairy who brings happiness. I'm not someone who releases their feelings, but sometimes it breaks down." Jimin said softly.
"I just wished that I was human sometimes..."
Taehyung pulled Jimin into a hug. "You're loved." "I know that." Jimin chuckled. "Just... sometimes I feel like I need to be sad. Show some emotion." Jungkook rolled his non-existent eyes. "Fairies don't do that." "Well, maybe I'm not one to keep tradition!" Jimin snapped.
Taehyung pouted, embracing Jimin tighter. "Let it out Jiminie..." Jimin's face was slowly turning a flustered red, babbling about what he'd rather want and be, while Jungkook was glaring daggers at Taehyung.
He has always been Jimin's best friend. He had always been by his side. And now suddenly Jimin is finally connected to a human, and suddenly he's out of the picture.
Without thinking twice, he grabbed Taehyung's wings, forcing the snarling human to look into his eyes. Jimin yelled at him to let go, but Jungkook was (of course) bigger and stronger than the fairy.
Taehyung whined and struggled, yelling at Jungkook to let him go. Jungkook stared at him, his dead eyes burning into Taehyung's. Slowly but surely, Jimin watched with a horrified expression as Taehyung's eyes turned the same empty cold white. His body hung slightly. He seemed dead.
"Taehyung?" Jimin hesitantly shook Taehyung's shoulder, but the boy didn't react. Jungkook nudged his head away, somewhere in the streets. "Get out of here." He snarled. Taehyung simply flew away without a word when Jungkook let him go. It was as if he was blind.
Jimin had tears welling up in his eyes. He punched Jungkook's shoulder with his tiny fists. "You meanie!" He yelled. "Why did you do that?! He is my human!" Jungkook scowled at him. "That is exactly the problem." He growled. "Your human is pulling you and me apart."
Jimin widened his eyes. "THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ABOUT?!" Jimin shrieked. "I told him you were nice! Maybe I was wrong about you Jungkook! I was a child! You were a child!" "I don't want near humans!" Jungkook yelled back. "It's my job to make them happy!" Jimin shrieked. "But it's not your life!" Jungkook growled.
Jimin's cheeks were stained with tears, whereas Jungkook's eyes were glowing red of anger and frustration.
"I trusted you Jungkook... I've been with you all my life and then you do this. I finally get a human to set a smile on like a responsible fairy like I always dreamed of, and then you destroy it. You're selfish Jungkook." Jimin trembled. "You're selfish and an absolute jerk!"
With that Jimin flew away, tears rolling down his cheeks, leaving an angry Jungkook behind. He went in the direction that Taehyung was blindly sent to, hoping on the spirits of Halloween to find him and find a way to turn him back before 6 AM hits.
Jungkook was furious. He wasn't planning on turning mad. He wasn't planning to accept Hoseok's offer. But perhaps he should.
"What if he parts from you?"
Jungkook was going to make sure he would be the one and only for his little fairy friend.
He disappeared into black smoke, reappearing in a place he thought he'd never see again. And the person who was currently in it, was not expecting to see him back.
Hoseok turned around to face Jungkook, raising an eyebrow in surprise. "What happened to you?" "You already know it." Jungkook spat rudely. Hoseok chuckled amused. "I do."
"Who's that?" Jungkook asked, nudging his head at the shorter ghost who was messing around with a gun. He turned around, facing each other. Just like Jungkook, the ghost's eyes were red. They roamed and mixed with his skin, indicating that his anger was long from gone.
"Who's this?" He growled. "I asked first." Jungkook snarled. "Fair point." The ghost growled. "Yoongi." He mumbled. "Jungkook." The younger replied.
Hoseok chuckled. "Yoongi has a little memory he wants to avenge..." Yoongi's hands tightened into a fist. "That stupid Tooth fairy..." He growled. His eyes furrowed and deepened into a blood red. "He left me for a Christmas fairy... One that breaks everything too.."
Jungkook frowned. "You got left too, huh?" Yoongi nodded. "I'm going to kill that sparkly fool." He growled. Hoseok chuckled. "Easy Yoongi. Jungkook also wants revenge." Jungkook nodded. "A human took my friend."
Yoongi widened his eyes slightly. "Human?" "Yeah." Jungkook growled. Hoseok gently touched his shoulders, rubbing his hands up and down his arms in a slow gentle movement. And yet there was mischief behind it.
A dark smirk was on Hoseok's lips. "We're stronger, faster. We're taller and better." He purred. "They can't do anything to us." Yoongi nodded. "I know. He just doesn't realize what I do for him." Jungkook looked at him. "Exactly." Hoseok grinned. "Don't worry, we'll be on our way..."
Jimin was flying around like a madman, it was already half-past five and he was starting to become hopeless. Tears were still running down his face uncontrollably and he sobbed. He could feel his hope fade away.
A hand rested on his back, rubbing up and down gently. "What's wrong?" The voice was calm and soothing. "I-I lost my h-h-human..." Jimin sobbed. "How so? What happened?" A second voice asked. "I w-wanted him t-to meet my best f-friend... But t-then he turned h-him lif-lifeless." Jimin cried.
"I had a friend like that." The first voice said. "Remember?" "Yeah, he was obsessed with you." The second chuckled. "W-who are y-you?" Jimin asked. "My name is Seokjin, but call me Jin!" The first voice said happily.
Jimin turned around to look at them. Jin had a very light color of purple hair, it wasn't lilac, but it wasn't pink either. He wore a similar clothing style like Jimin, but less revealing and closed. He had lovely purple and blue eyes that were decorated with very, very small feathers on his eyelashes. His wings were the same color scheme, turquoise, blue and purple.
"And I'm Namjoon!" The second said smiling. The dimples made him look cuter and more inviting, his brown hair decorated with pretty colors like red, green and white. He wore a thick sweater in red with white snowflakes, and black pants underneath. His wings were snow white with small streaks of red and green. It didn't quite match Jin's outfit, but somehow the two fit together.
"What does he look like? Your human?" Jin asked. Jimin sniffled. "He's a fairy now with a bit of magic..." He hiccuped. "And he has pretty brown hair... a very unique boxy smile... His eyes look dead though..."
Namjoon pouted slightly, tapping his fingers together. "Hm... Didn't we see someone like that a minute ago?" "Sort of?" Jin shrugged. "We could go and check." Jimin nodded. "Anything.."
Jimin followed Jin and Namjoon hopelessly, begging for them to be right. And like fate. Taehyung bumped against them.
"That's him!" Namjoon exclaimed. Jin touched his shoulder but Taehyung didn't budge. He was still lifeless. New tears ran down Jimin's cheeks as he took Taehyung's face in his hands.
"Tae? Taehyung please say something!" He begged. Taehyung stayed silent. He was unfamiliar with the touch. With the emotion. His heart thumped in his chest when he felt something pressed against his lips.
Taehyung blinked a few times, his blurred sight sharpening into what he could shape as a face. A perfect face with soft features and plump lips on his.
Then it snapped.
Jimin...
Taehyung melted into the loving kiss, but being pulled away roughly and held painfully by his wings. He yelped and whined. Jimin teared up again. "JUNGKOOK! LET. HIM. GO!" He shrieked. His voice was loud and high. A fairy's voice could only get so high when he or she was too angry to ever describe the feeling.
Jungkook stayed unfazed. His red eyes stared into Jimin's. "I'll let him go if you leave him and erase his memory." "No!" Jimin cried. "I know him for only a few hours and I love him! I love him more than I love myself! Let him go Jungkook!"
Taehyung smiled his boxy smile at him. "Jiminie!" Jimin looked at him with red puffy eyes. "I love you." Taehyung said happily, pouting a kissy-face. Jimin smiled widely, his face heating up.
Jin frowned. "Yoongi... We talked about this." "No. You decided on it." Yoongi snarled. "I deserve you Jin hyung. Me!" He yelled. "Go and find your own!" Jin yelled. "You have to move on!" "I don't want to." Yoongi snarled.
"I don't want some things either Yoongi, and they still have to happen. Stop whining and move on." Jin said, crossing his arms. Yoongi tightened his hands to fists. He didn't want to admit that Jin had a point.
With a deep sigh, he grabbed Jungkook's arm and teleported them away, causing Taehyung to almost fall flat to the ground. He ignored the pain in his wings and tightly hugged Jimin in his arms.
Jimin hugged back. Their bodies were warm against each other when the loud banging church clock hit six times. Taehyung pouted. "I guess it's time for us to part ways..." Jimin didn't want to.
Jin chucked. "No silly. A kiss by a fairy can do magic." He smiled. "Like this one here." He elbowed Namjoon gently, who smiled. "It turns humans."
Taehyung stared at them. "I'm a fairy?" "That's right." Namjoon nodded. Taehyung couldn't help a smile to form on his face. He happily placed his lips on Jimin's, who seemed shocked at the news.
Well... I guess true love will always stay stronger than fake love.
Jungkook frowned when he messed with the books. Hoseok went somewhere with Yoongi. Probably shopping or something. Jin's words had a point. Perhaps it was time to move on.
He had been holding onto the same for years. Maybe it was time for him to do something new... Something... happy.
