🐙The sea's choice🐙

Namjoon's POV

"Do you have everything?" Jin asked, checking the air for the scuba diving tank. I checked my equipment one more time. "I think I do. I got the diving suit, two of the air tanks, clean diving glasses, my flippies-" "Stop calling them that." Yoongi said annoyed. "You are not the one diving!" I spat back joking. "Yeah, why would I when a shark bit my shoulder." Yoongi rolled his eyes.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Let's just go. Before you know it that shell is gone again. If we want to earn money, we'll have to act fast." I said, walking outside. Hesitantly Yoongi and Jin followed me. Jin stepping behind the driver's seat and Yoongi in the backseat. Believe it or not, he just sat there to lay down and sleep.

Jin parked the car at the ocean shore, immediately moving our position to the boat. Yoongi was behind the wheel this time, and Jin helped me with the scuba gear.
Once a year, a very valuable shell would appear at the bottom of the ocean. How? I don't know, but it's worth a ton of money! And we need it considering that I break everything and that Jin needs to cook a lot, plus Yoongi wants a new mattress at least twice a month!

"We there yet?" I asked, seeing the sand disappear from my sight. "Almost." Yoongi yelled. Jin nodded. "Do be careful." He said softly. I nodded. "I have no other choice. If I can't reach it I'll go back up." I said smiling. Jin nodded. "Namjoon! Get in there and get me some money! I need a new bed I swear!" Yoongi yelled, shivering slightly. "I should have brought a jacket." He whined, hugging his own body.

Jin shook his head. "Come back safely Namjoon." He said quietly. I nodded again and sat on the edge of the boat. The ocean was slamming against the boat like war. Water was strong, magical and full of secrets. But none of those weren't going to stop me from finding them out. I gave my hyungs a last salute before diving into the unknown.

I blinked a few times, adjusting my eyes to the sight of the water. fishes swam further into the depth of the ocean, magical coral in the very far distance, and a very small glowing glimpse of the shell that was my target. I began to swim down, looking at all the life that existed down here.

I wasn't going to lie, I was nervous. My clumsiness was not something that would come in handy right here. If one of my air tanks would come lose than I wasn't able to go down as far as I could. If I would get stuck then I would most likely die. And if I would lose the shell than both of my hyungs would slap me until my head hurt.

I could almost reach it, it was so close! I reached out just to get a soft touch, when something scaly moved in front of me. It was as fast as lightning, almost invisible to my eyes. It was scaled and rough, almost like the rusty side of metal.

My eyes instantly shot to the weird moving creature. I looked back down at the shell, only to see that it was gone. Furrowing my eyebrows, I swam further down. There was a clear print of where the shell was, and a light bit of scaped sand next to it, as if someone had quickly snatched it away.

I looked around, a shiny reflection on the water a few coral rocks away. I swam towards it, hesitantly reaching for the strange fin. It was a crystal white with a bit of grey mixed scales. I touched it lightly, flinching when it got pulled away quickly.

I quickly followed the direction it went to, widening my eyes when I saw the legend. The crystal white fin led to a beautifully scaled tail, and halfway up, the human body was visible. A cute male held the gold shell with care and affection.

His plump lips slightly parted in worry. His blonde hair waved slightly in the water. "Did he hurt you?" He asked with concern. I looked at the shell, of which a small little fish escaped.

The merman gasped of happiness, cuddling the fish close. "Oh thank the sea you're alright! Promise never to scare me like that again!" He said relieved. The fish twirled around its shell happily.

I frowned disappointingly. That is why it would bring a lot of money... If the shell and fish were taken, the merman would probably go after it. I widened my eyes in fear when I got pushed back suddenly and pinned down onto the sand.

The merman was on top of me, pinning my arms down. His expression was filled with anger. "What do you want?! Is it my friend again?!" He asked yelling angrily. I shook my head rapidly. The merman frowned and looked at the fish, who backed away from me.

The merman tightened his grip. "Liar! I should make you pay for trying to take my friend!" He yelled. He took off the diving glasses, causing me to close my eyes as an automatic reaction. The merman forced them open, his index and pointer finger holding my eyelid open. God! It burned!

I tried to close it, but with no success. The merman looked at my eyes, letting them go. "Can you not see underwater?" He asked, his voice becoming more friendly. I shook my head, quickly closing my eyes again. "Can't you talk?" He asked. I shook my head again.

Jimin frowned. "But why? Everyone can talk underwater right?" He asked, hesitantly letting me go. I quickly searched for my diving glasses, which got placed on my head. I quickly pulled them down, making sure that the water was out of it first. I blinked, wanting to rub my eyes.

The merman looked down guilty. "I'm sorry..." He said softly. "Can you write?" He asked. I nodded. "Oh! Wait!" He squealed happily and swum further away for a bit. His tail moving elegantly in the water, his movements smooth and fluent.

He came back quickly, a full red rock in his hand. "This writes! Maybe you can communicate by writing on the rock?" He asked nervously, handing me the crayon like rock. I simply nodded again, taking the rock from him.

He smiled kindly and laid his hands in his lap nervously. "So... where do you come from?" He asked. I swam a bit closer to the rock and began to write. I can't believe that I'm communicating with a merman!

I'm from the land above the ocean

I wrote, letting him read it. He gasped and looked at me. "Human?" He asked quietly. I nodded. He wiped the red ink away so the rock was clean again. "What is your name?" He asked.

Kim Namjoon

He smiled. "I'm Park Jimin!" I returned a smile and waved, he happily waved back. "What are those things?" Jimin asked, curiously tapping my legs.

They're legs. You have a tail, and humans have two legs and feet

He tilted his head curiously. "Why did you want to grab my friend?" Jimin asked frowning. I looked down.

I have two hyungs up on the boat. We are low on money and heard that there was a price on the little guy. I didn't know that the price that I had to give up for it would break my heart.

I wrote. Jimin read it and looked at the fish, who swum circles around my legs. "What do you mean break your heart?" Jimin asked.

You are a myth and a legend on the land. No one knew your kind existed. You are precious. I can't get it over my heart to give your life up for money

Jimin read the words slowly and frowned sadly. "They don't know I exist? But... I am the only one of my kind..." Jimin said sadly. I widened my eyes.

Family?

Jimin shook his head. "None. I got created, not born like humans are. I can't remember anything from my human life. The only thing that I can remember is that I used to be one..." He said softly.

How?

I wrote. He got created. How is that even possible? Jimin frowned. "I got bitten basically. We have these weird fangs in the far back of our mouths that send electric shocks when biting something. That is how I got turned. It happened near my legs... maybe that's why I am this way now." He explained nervously.

Must have been painful

Jimin shrugged. "I can't remember." He said quietly. "I've always wanted to know what it's like to have someone who can swim with you, play with you or just joke around. But the chance that I'll get that is small." He whined.

I put my hand on his shoulder, causing him to look up at me. We stared at each other for a few seconds. "You're cute!" He exclaimed suddenly. I widened my eyes, feeling my cheeks heat up.

Jimin looked down, his own cheeks lighting up with a light pink. "S-sorry..." I shook my head, smiling slightly. I know, I should not do this, but my mind was dedicated on one thing. Making him happy.

How would you like a fellow merman to spend some time with?

His eyes lit up with happiness. "Do you know another merman?" He asked curiously. I shook my head.

I'm willing to become one for you

Jimin smiled widely and looked at the fish, who seemed to agree with the idea. "Are you really willing to give up your human life for me?" He asked. I nodded again. Jimin squealed, swimming in a few short circles before hugging me tightly.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" He yelled. I hugged him back, feeling his smooth skin. Jimin smiled, his eyes sparkling with hope. "Is it okay if you take off the suit then? I have to do it near the legs... I think..." He asked shyly.

I nodded. I reached to the far back of the suit managing to barely reach the zipper and pull it down slightly. Jimin swam to my back. "Can I take these off?" He asked. I hesitantly nodded.

I quickly took a deep breath of air before Jimin took the tanks off and the air disconnected. Jimin unzipped the suit and pulled it down. He quickly lowered the waistband of my underwear slightly. He looked at me with worry.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded quickly.  Jimin smiled slightly and quickly bit into my lower hip. I gritted my teeth to hold myself from screaming as the air in my lungs ran out. My eyes closed as I choked on the water, passing out.

I gasped, breathing heavily. My eyes shot open. I grabbed my throat being able to breathe again. Jimin was hovering over me worriedly. "Namjoon! I thought I killed you!" He yelled.

I looked at him in shock and pulled him into a tight hug. "Jimin! Thank the sea..." I sighed in relief. "You're alright." Jimin nodded. "I'm glad you are!" He exclaimed.

I felt his bare skin on mine, his scaled tail intertwining with mine. I smiled, seeing a cute golden fish swimming around us. "Hey little guy!" I greeted it, happily watching it.

"Do you remember anything?" Jimin asked worriedly. I raised my eyebrow at him. "What should I remember then?" "About your human life?" Jimin asked hesitantly.

I frowned. Was I... human once? I shook my head slowly. "I can't imagine ever being human." I said softly. Jimin looked down sadly. "Was I?" I asked confused. He simply nodded.

"Really? What was I like?" I asked curiously. Jimin smiled. "You were really nice! You were going to take my friend away for money, but you didn't! You couldn't breathe or talk underwater... You couldn't see either so you wore all this weird stuff." He said, pointing at a bunch of weird items.

I tilted my head. "I wore that?" I asked. Jimin nodded. "Weird right?" He chuckled. I picked up one of the weird items. "How did  even fit into that?" I asked with disbelieve. "You had those two weird things, like them!" He yelled, pointing up.

I looked up at where Jimin had pointed, seeing two other men with the same weird items. I frowned slightly, swimming up to them. Jimin followed me closely, nervously holding onto my arm.

The men looked shocked, both at me and Jimin. I tilted my head. "What are those?" I asked, pointing at the weird two things under their waist. No response... I looked at Jimin with confusion. "Can't they talk?" I asked. "You were one of those!" Jimin exclaimed.

I raised my eyebrow at him. "I was?" I saw one of the men nod. "What happened then?" I asked. The other one pointing upwards and began to swim towards it, the other man soon following him.

I looked at Jimin with concern. "Should I?" "We should." He said smiling. Pulling me by my arm. I chucked, he was so cute. Jimin hesitantly stopped at the edge of the water, where the men climbed onto a weird box.

I stuck my head from the water, shaking my head a bit to get my hair out of my face. Jimin quickly followed my actions, still intertwining our hands.

The men took off the weird glasses on their head and smiled. "My god Namjoon! What happened?" The black haired man asked with disbelieve. I tilted my head confused. "I... I don't know. I don't even know who you are or what those things are that you're wearing... I can't remember anything!" I exclaimed, pouting.

The men frowned concernedly. "You can't remember who we are?" The brown-haired man asked worriedly. "We're your friends Namjoon! Seokjin and Yoongi, Jin and Yoongs!" The black haired boy said, raising his voice. "Jin... and Yoongs?" I asked softly.

I looked down when Jimin tightened his grip on my hand. "Are you okay?" He asked softly. "I just can't believe that I forgot my friends... If I even had them." I said hesitantly.

Yoongi and Seokjin sighed. "Maybe we can prove it? We used to know some pretty cute little secrets." Jin asked, smiling. "Oh right! Yoongi said happily. "Tickle his sides!"

Jimin hesitantly swum down slightly, his hands near my hips. He looked up at me before starting to gently rub his fingers along my sides. I burst into laughter, pulling Jimin's hands away. "No! Don't do that!" I yelled.

Jimin smiled and laughed softly, his head popping out from the water. "Sorry." He said with a small giggle. Seokjin snapped his fingers. "He is sensitive to any touch near his feet! Maybe if you try the fin..."

Jimin and I tilted our heads. "Feet?" "These." Yoongi said, pointing at where the fin was supposed to be. Jimin nodded and dived back down again, hesitantly touching my fin. I tensed slightly. "See? We know some of your darkest secrets and tickle spots!" Seokjin yelled happily.

I hesitantly nodded. "I'm sorry. I really can't remember anything." I said, looking down. Yoongi frowned. "Than maybe we should make new memories. But... not separated." He said lowly. Seokjin looked at him with confusion. "Let's join them Jin hyung."

Seokjin widened his eyes. "What?! But why?!" "Because we have nothing on the land left for us! We are low on money and we're literally dying!" Yoongi snapped. Seokjin flinched and looked down into the water. "You're right. We have nothing left to lose..."

Yoongi looked down at me. "We know you got turned, and we want the same." He said softly. Seokjin nodded. "I guess... turn us?" He asked nervously. Jimin widened his eyes of happiness. "More sea friends!" He yelled happily.

I chuckled slightly. "I'm not one to choose for you. You say it, and I'll do it." I shrugged. Seokjin smiled. "Thank you." Jimin frowned slightly. "I think you'll have to get in the water then... we have more tail strength than arm strength." He said softly.

Yoongi gave him a simple nod. "Any requirements?" Jimin nodded. "No items or whatever that thing is, on your tail and chest." The two humans looked at each other nervously. "So we basically have to jump in the ice cold water... naked?" Seokjin asked, shivering. Jimin nodded. "It's not cold!"

Yoongi rolled his eyes at the elder and stood up, beginning to take off the items. Seokjin covered his eyes when Yoongi jumped into the water. He shivered. "Lies! It's cold!" He yelled. Jimin shook his head pouting and dived down. He hesitantly sunk his teeth into Yoongi's lower hip, who gasped of the sudden action and whined in pain.

"Excuse me?!" He yelled. "I... I think that is what happened to me..." I said hesitantly, feeling in the far back of my mouth. Shark like teeth hid themselves in the back. Yoongi's shivering began to calm down and closed his eyes.

I watched with amazement as the two weird thingies got covered by loads of cute bubbles! Sadly the bubbles soon disappeared, only to leave me and Seokjin with our mouths open.

Yoongi had gotten a tail. A dark blue with sea purple scaled tail. He blinked a few times before looking around. "Why are we up here?" He asked, sounding slightly annoyed. "I want to sleep again." He whined.

Seokjin burst into laughter. "You didn't change one bit!" He laughed. Yoongi tilted his head. "Who are you?" He asked lowly. Seokjin sighed and swung his legs to the inside of the boat, taking his items off his body and hesitantly sliding into the water.

"You want to take this opportunity?" Jimin asked, nudging my shoulder. I nodded, diving down. Seokjin was shivering from the cold and whined. I gulped slightly, biting into Seokjin's waist.

He gasped and yelled of sudden pain. In the meantime, jimin was explaining Yoongi everything. I smiled happily when I saw the bubbles again. I tried to pop them but they were with too much.

I stared with amazement. Seokjin's tail was a pretty pink with lilac scales. He looked at the three of us. "Shall we dive? I'm cold out here." He whined softly, diving down into the water.

Yoongi instantly agreed, diving down with him. Jimin smiled widely, giving me a tight hug. "You have amazing friends!" He squealed happily. I quickly hugged him back. "But you are the best of them."

Jimin blushed lightly. "Thank you Namjoonie." He smiled. I yelped when I got pulled down by my tail. "Yoongi!" I yelled, pulling my tail from his grip. "Just kiss already." He rolled his eyes. Jimin childishly stuck out his tongue at him and swam down.

I quickly followed him and punched Yoongi's arm gently. "Why did you say that?!" I whisper yelled. Yoongi chuckled. "You two are clearly in love." He said amused, winking at me. I pouted and blushed. "Shut up."

"You know that I heard all of that?" Jimin asked, laughing softly. I widened my eyes slightly and looked away. "No you didn't!" I yelled softly, trying to deny it. Jimin smiled. "I did!"

I whined softly and swam behind one of the coral rocks, hiding my face between my tail and my chest. This was embarrassing!

Jimin pouted and peeked her head over the rock. "Namjoonie?" "No..." I said softly, not looking up. Jimin frowned and let himself fall on the sand next to me. "Is it that bad?" He asked quietly.

I nodded. "Why?" Jimin asked. "Because it's true..." I said hesitantly, playing with my fingers. "What is true?" He asked, peeking his head under mine. "You know... What Yoongi said." I sighed. "About me... Loving you..."

Jimin smiled. "Oh! That little thing? Don't worry about it!" He placed his lips on mine gently. "Because I share the same secret." He whispered. I looked at him with wide eyes. "You... do?" I asked. He nodded and pulled my head up. "I do."

He placed his lips on mine again, his tail intertwining with mine. I quickly kissed back, leaning myself up to reach him. We looked up when we heard a flirty whistle.

"Love shells!" Jin laughed, leaning his head on the palm of his hand. Yoongi swam towards him, raising his eyebrow at us. "What happened?" He asked curiously. "These two kissed." Jin said with a chuckle. Yoongi grinned and looked at me and Jimin.

"I saw this coming. Like, there was no other option." He chuckled. "So?" Jimin protested, crossing his arms. "It's not like you and Jin aren't in love or anything." He pouted. Jin and Yoongi looked at each other. "I mean..." "Sort of? Friend like love." Seokjin added.

I frowned. "It's not fair! You can't blame us! It's the sea's will for us to be together and so I will accept that." I said, hugging Jimin close. Jimin pecked my lips and smiled. "The sea has spoken."

Jin 'awed' and smiled. "The sea was right! You two are so cute together!" "You two are too!" Jimin exclaimed. Yoongi chuckled. "What do you want us to do then?" He asked. "Kiss!" Jimin said pouting.

Jin looked at Yoongi with shock. "But what if the sea disapproves?" "Than it will tell! Just do it already!" I whined. Yoongi sighed annoyed and pulled Jin his head towards his own, connecting their lips shortly. "There."

Jin stared with shock. "See? The sea is always right." Jimin smiled. Yoongi struggled. "What do you know? I guess it is." He chuckled. Jin slapped the back of his head. "You know it is."
