"I don't understand this virus though..."

[\|<>|/]

Chained. That's what Namjoon was. His arms, legs, chest and neck were literally strapped to a metal plate. And it hurt.

The scientist and biologist have been inspecting him for three days. Honestly, Namjoon understands why. It wouldn't be normal to wake up with sudden bloodlust at night.

The biologist thinks it might be a new virus that has started to spread. The scientist knows it is.

Namjoon just hates being in tight spaces. He doesn't even know his own body yet. The scientist had done experiments with his DNA and his blood, whilst the biologist kept to inspecting him for changes.

"I can just move to another town, you know." Namjoon snarls. "And if I can't, at least don't keep me in this... thing." He growls, trying to pull himself free.

"I'm sorry, but we can't risk you attacking us." The biologist says.

The scientist rolls his eyes. "We can. I told you he wouldn't like this. We're practically treating him like an animal." He says, not even looking up from his work.

Namjoon nods. "I'm still human!"

"You're not." The scientist says. "You are everything but human. I fear you might even be a cannibal with this strange virus inside you... It looks like nothing I've ever seen. It's extremely poisonous."

"How do you know?" The biologist asks.

The scientist turns around to him and holds up a small tube. He lets a small drop onto his hand, and the two others watch curiously as the skin begins to pulse, his veins pushing against his skin and the pigment in his skin disappearing, turning his skin tone a complete white, lighter than Namjoon's skin, before it slowly begins to gain color again.

It doesn't return to his normal skin tone, but stays pale.

"Hoseok! I told you not to test on yourself anymore!" The biologist snarls.

"Shut up." Hoseok growls. "I am not doing this to poor little rabbits! Neither will I experiment on rats, dogs, cats, parrots, or an other animal! I need a trusty result. If that means my death, then I saved a few lives."

"Still-"

"Seokjin. This is my job and career. My choice." Hoseok growls.

Seokjin sighs and runs a hand through his hair. "I know. I'm just trying to look out for you."

"We aren't a couple anymore, so stop acting like it!" Hoseok snaps. "I want to focus on how to get this man back to human so the world won't be so fucking scared over something! He's still alive so he probably won't die about it!"

"I don't understand this virus though..." Seokjin sighs. "It's... something running in his blood. Look."

He shows a small scan to Hoseok who frowns at the sight. Namjoon's blood is thin and weak, running through his body way too fast. Mixed through it are small transparent blobs of black, that almost seem like bacteria.

"I... Is it even a virus?!" Hoseok yells. "What if it's something else?"

"It would be unlikely..." Seokjin mutters, rubbing his head in annoyance. "I have never seen a virus develop itself this way."

"So then it can't be a virus." Namjoon growls.

Hoseok nods. "Right. It isn't a disease, not a virus, neither an infection-"

"We never confirmed an infection." Seokjin cuts him off.

"Than test it." Namjoon snarls. "I want to get out!" The loud hiss that escapes his throat makes both examiners look up with wide eyes.

"Do that again..." Hoseok orders.

Namjoon growls. "I can't. It came out of itself."

"Than make it happen again!" Hoseok snaps.

Once again, a loud hiss bursts from the angry male. He starts to pull at the restraints, hiss after hiss coming from his lips.

"It sounds like a snake... almost, but it's different." Seokjin says. He grabs a sound detecting device, holding it up to Namjoon's lips to capture the sound.

He jabs it into the laptop and uses the sound to compare to possible animals that could have been the cause of this.

No known result...

"And you really don't remember anything?" Hoseok asks after seeing the result.

Namjoon shakes his head, chest heaving up and down heavily, feeling the leather burning on his skin. "I already told you that all I remember is going out with a friend. He was drunk, I walked him home, and then I passed out. When I woke up I was here."

"So... you can't remember the murders?"

"What murders?"

"Those people you killed."

"I can't remember."

Hoseok sighs deeply. He knows this won't do. Without the memories, figuring out what caused this is a pain in the ass. With no known animal that could have done this, the options are only more difficult to find.

"I'll stay overnight." Hoseok mumbles. "Maybe that'll get our hopes up."

"You need to sleep." Seokjin protests.

"I can do whatever I want, whenever I want." Hoseok snarls. "You go home, I'll take care of this."

Seokjin slowly nods, taking his stuff and goes home, closing the door and turning the lights off, leaving Hoseok alone with the strapped male.

"So. Who are you exactly?" Hoseok asks.

"My name is Kim Namjoon, I'm a teacher."

"You were."

"Don't get me angry." Namjoon snarls.

Hoseok smirks. "Or what? Gonna give me detention?"

"I'll fucking kill you!" Namjoon hisses. "I'll rip your throat out! I'll dig out your organs and eat them! I'll tear you apart!" He yells, and in the dark, Hoseok can see a vague shimmer.

Namjoon hisses loudly, the sound of the leather straps ripping catches Hoseok's attention. He notices a soft red glow that gets brighter with every second, Namjoon's hissing becoming deeper and much more hostile.

So the dark activates it... Hoseok makes a quick mental note.

The red glow comes from Namjoon's eyes, and the shimmer he saw was from the moonlight on his... fangs?

Hoseok tilts his head and turns on the lights, jaw dropping at the sight.

Namjoon was violently trying to pull himself out of his straps, loudly hissing and growling.

Long sharp fangs glimmered in the light on the lamps, eyes a blood-red and muscles pulsating against his skin. His veins were pushing against his skin, but the blue color was nowhere to be seen. It was just red...

Hoseok quickly runs towards him to prevent him from breaking free. "I'll let you out. Just promise me one thing."

Namjoon huffs annoyed. "It's always a promise. How will you know if I keep it?"

"We placed a chip behind your ear. It explodes if you disobey us."

"Lies. Such a thing doesn't exist."

"How do you know?"

"If I did I would have exploded a long time ago." Namjoon smirks.

Hoseok grins. "Well observant."

"Thank you." Namjoon chuckles. "What's the promise?"

"You won't hurt anyone. You'll stay here and with me until I can fully pull this infection from your body."

Namjoon raises an eyebrow. "That's all?"

Hoseok nods.

"Okay, deal."

Hoseok smiles, beginning to work on his ankles first, going to his neck, his arms and his chest.

Namjoon immediately rubs his wrists and his neck, where Hoseok finally noticed two small holes. Like a snake bite. This one was different though.

A few small veins around the bite wound were visible in a deep red, the small holes themselves almost pushing into his skin.

Hoseok watches with wide eyes as the wound slowly begins to disappear, as if nothing was there anymore.

Namjoon looks down at him, growling deeply before he inhales the sharp new scent. His eyes snap to the scientist, who frowns and crosses his arms.

Honestly, Hoseok thought they were a myth. He's never seen one of course, but this changes his mind.

"Do you know what you are?" Hoseok asks softly, slowly reaching out to caress Namjoon's neck.

"No."

Namjoon's voice is cold and deep, a low growl rumbling in his throat after every exhale. Hoseok carefully traces Namjoon's neck, of which once was scarred with a bite mark, which had vanished.

Namjoon hisses at him, eyes burning into Hoseok's, making the scientist shiver and quickly retreat his hand.

"Than... if you look at yourself, what do you think you are?"

Namjoon glances at his own reflection through the screens and smirks. "I don't know. All I know is your neck looks very tasty tonight." He hisses deeply, licking his fangs.

"We made a deal!"

"And did you really think I'd be keeping it?!" Namjoon snarls angrily, grabbing Hoseok's collar.

The scientist gulps. "W-wait! There is another way-"

"There isn't." Namjoon growls bitterly. "I'm feeling... thirsty. My throat feels like sandpaper and the blood in your veins looks very appetizing."

Before Hoseok can gasp to yell, Namjoon bares his fangs and digs them into Hoseok's skin.

With wide eyes, the human lets out a loud scream, feeling his neck being cut open. When he looked at those fangs he never thought that they'd be able to push through skin so easily, but here he was, screaming and crying in pain.

Namjoon exhales deeply through his nose, a deep groan coming from his lips when blood begins to leak out of the wound.

Hoseok shivers when he feels Namjoon's tongue on his skin, lapping up the falling drops. He bites deeper, creating a bigger wound that makes Hoseok cry out.

Either Hoseok's skin has thinned, or Namjoon is just good at closing blood off in his body. Either way, it's dangerous.

Hoseok's neck feels numb. The more blood seems to fall, the worse he starts to see. Perhaps too much blood loss.

His body feels sleepy, heavy panting instead of screaming slips past his lips. He leans his head on Namjoon's shoulders when the creature finally pulls his fangs out. It leaves a scar. A wound just like Namjoon had before it vanished.

Namjoon's cold fingers caress the bite mark, licking up the remaining blood. "That was nice." He growls. "I hope you heal quickly. I want to do that again soon."

"N-no..." Hoseok whimpers. "Don't..."

Namjoon sighs. "You don't have a choice."

Hoseok opens his mouth to say something, but passes out before he can. His mind and body feel weak. He feels... forgetful.

Namjoon scoffs, swinging the scientist's unconscious body over his shoulder, deciding it'd be fun to turn the roles around for a bit.

He grabs Hoseok's wrists and straps them into the leather straps where he had been in for three whole days. He pulls at the strap on Hoseok's chest, tightening it, as well as the strap at his neck.

With a loud struggled gasp, Hoseok's eyes snap open. It's dark...

For a moment Hoseok tries to take a deep breath, but he can't. He looks down, eyes wide when he sees himself strapped to the metal plate where Namjoon was before.

He starts to hyperventilate. Breathing is a struggle. He hears a deep chuckle, and in the dark, Hoseok sees Namjoon's red eyes.

"I thought I'd just have fun with you. Toy around. But who knew?" He chuckles darkly and leans in to whisper in Hoseok's ear. "I infected you." He growls, voice deep and low.

Hoseok's eyes widen in fear. "W-what?! How?!"

"Apparently biting you had its consequences." Namjoon shrugs. "I wonder if you still taste as good as before."

Hoseok winces, trying to free himself. Namjoon unstraps his neck carefully, taking a look at the bite wound in his neck.

The small veins around the wound were a slight red, more purple at the moment. Namjoon scoffs lightly, licking over the wound.

Hoseok shivers and gasps. The gentle pressure on the wound makes his skin pulse, a groan coming from his throat.

Namjoon looks up at him, head still in the crook of his neck. He scrapes his fangs over his skin, tasting the small drop that slowly begins to form.

With a soft chuckle, Namjoon straps his neck again. "You do taste good."

Hoseok pants lightly. "What happened... before I got tied up?" He asks weakly.

Namjoon tilts his head. "You tried to fix this infection in me, but let me free. I bit you, and decided it would be fun to do this."

Hoseok tilts his head slowly. "Oh... Can you let me out?"

"I can."

"Will you?"

"No."

Hoseok growls, tugging at the restraints. "Let me out of this! It hurts and I can barely breathe!"

"Good. Enjoy your last human breaths." Namjoon smirks.

"How so?" Hoseok snarls.

"As I said, I infected you. I don't know what I am, but I know that I'm not human. If I was then I wouldn't crave human blood." Namjoon replies. "I think you'll look good with red eyes. Your skin is lovely for that color."

Hoseok bites his bottom lip, glaring at Namjoon. "Why are you complimenting me when I've been so horrible to you?"

"Because you know what is good and bad." Namjoon replies. "You tested on yourself, you scolded Seokjin, you freed me. You really aren't a bad person. I think it's my instinct that told me not to kill you."

"Why?"

Namjoon shrugs. "Because bad things happen to good people. I can't have another good man die."

"So you infect me instead?"

"Would you rather be dead?"

Hoseok stays quiet. He wouldn't. That doesn't give Namjoon any reason to trap him though.

"Look," Namjoon growls, "I just need you safe. I don't know what the difference is between three days and a few hours in the dark. All I know is that you should stay calm. In this state, you'll hurt yourself."

"No kidding." Hoseok snarls. "I can't fucking breathe!"

"Your voice says something else." Namjoon grins. "You can breathe."

"Well it's a challenge to do so!" Hoseok snaps. "I can't even move! My chest feels as if it's crushed and I can't feel my neck anymore!"

"Perhaps it is for the better." Namjoon shrugs.

Hoseok watches his every move like a hawk, not wanting to let the male out of his sight for even a single second, even though all he an see is his eyes.

"Why?"

Namjoon looks at him. "When I felt... my change. I felt so hostile. I felt like everyone was my enemy. Bloodthirsty and deadly. I have no idea how you will react to this. I felt strong. Stronger than I had ever been. As if I could easily rip myself out of the restraints, but I couldn't."

Hoseok tilts his head in interest. Namjoon raises an eyebrow and continues.

"I could feel my heart stop. I thought I was going to die. But then, my lungs took all that air, and released my first hiss. You were so interested in it. It brought such an instinctive reaction to my body. As if it wanted to show you more. Then Seokjin left, and my mind blacked out when the lights did as well. Adrenaline surged through me, an undeniable thirst for you-"

"Why me?" Hoseok asks. He pants, his heart beating unevenly.

Namjoon hears it. He frowns and looks at Hoseok's chest. "Because my mind feels attraction to you. I can't explain it. Something about you drives me insane."

Hoseok can feel it. He can finally feel what Namjoon was talking about. His heart slows down each second, his lungs inflating instead of his heart pumping. The sudden tickle in his lungs seems as if he's going to cough, but instead, a loud raspy hiss escapes his tight throat.

Namjoon grins. "Beautiful. Fascinating."

"Those would be things I would tell you." Hoseok hisses, stomach aching and back arching. His muscles pulsate, veins thickening as they push against his skin.

Hoseok's neck feels tight and rough, like sandpaper in need for hydration. His eyes glow a bright red, pulling at his restraints.

Namjoon growls, running his hand over Hoseok's clothed chest and loosens the leather strap, making Hoseok sigh deeply and relief and take a few hard deep breaths.

Then comes the strap around his neck, and Hoseok hisses loudly when it's off.

"You sound very pretty." Namjoon chuckles. "So bloodthirsty..."

"I bet you are too." Hoseok grins. "Only a part of my blood wouldn't be enough to satisfy your cravings."

Namjoon nods. "Indeed."

Hoseok licks his lips, his back arching and growling deeply. His jaw snaps towards Namjoon, fangs almost latching into his skin.

Namjoon slowly tilts his head, glancing down at his lips, where he can see the sharp end of Hoseok's fangs. "They're pretty."

"You say everything about me is."

Namjoon nods. "Because it is. Your hair is soft, your face is cute, lips inviting me to take them in a battle..."

Hoseok scoffs. "Really?"

Namjoon nods again.

Hoseok grins and tilts his head. "Than why are you still debating whether to take it or not?"

Immediately Namjoon's lips connect with his own, eyes shut tightly and kissing back to feel the hunger within them.

Namjoon quickly unstraps his arms, not breaking the kiss once. Hoseok's hurting wrists are captured by Namjoon's hands, slowly dragging down to his neck, where the bite wound has started to disappear.

The kiss breaks and the two look at each other, eyes hooded and lips grazing against each other.

"Release me." Hoseok breathes.

Namjoon replies with a short peck, before kneeling down and pulling the leather off the metal, throwing the rings away before he once again takes Hoseok in for a kiss.

The older male lets himself lean into Namjoon's embrace, feeling how his waist is held in balance by his hands.

"I'm still thirsty..." Namjoon mumbles after they break the kiss for air.

"Me too." Hoseok pants. "I know where Seokjin lives..."

Namjoon pecks his neck, right where he had bitten him, leaving a smooth pale skin, which he can't wait to bruise in bites. "Than let's go and see if his blood tastes as good as yours."
