"The one chosen, can't go back home."
[\|<>|/]
The young 18-year-old Yoongi was sighing, playing his video game in the back seat of the car as it drove along an empty road.
Green was all he saw when he looked around. Everything was green.
His parents decided it would be good for Yoongi to get fresh air and not sit inside, playing the electric keyboard all day.
It was saying goodbye to the band he was in, and saying hello to a boring life at a wine orchard, where his father wanted to make his own wine and sell it.
The house was old, and many townsfolk from a few kilometers south were sure it was haunted.
Of course Yoongi's father had to choose the haunted inn to live.
"Yoongi, get off your phone!" His mother whined at him. "Look around you!"
"Isn't it beautiful?" His father asked with glee.
Yoongi sighs and looks up at the landscape. "Yeah, pretty." He replies sarcastically. "A lot of green." He mumbles, bowing his head back to his video game.
"Cheer up, Yoongi." His mother says comfortingly. "We're almost there, we know you don't like car rides but this is the last one there, I promise!"
"And that's what I'm worried about..." Yoongi mumbles softly, covering both his ears with his headphones and waits for the long ride to end, going from the large Daegu, to the small town outside of Seoul.
When the car was parked on the gravely stone path, Yoongi stays in his seat as his parents pay and gain the keys.
Their dog has come as well, and Yoongi just knows he feels the same as him.
Holly's head rests on his lap, sighing deeply every now and then.
Yoongi ruffles a hand through his fur. "You and me both, Holly. You and me both..."
His mother knocks at the window, and Yoongi rolls it down annoyed, already hearing the stream of water and chirping of birds.
"Come out, sweetheart."
"No thanks. I'm good in the car." Yoongi spits rudely.
"Yoongi, come out! It's nice out here!" His father laughs.
Yoongi rolls his eyes and rolls his window back up, the door locked as he ignores his parents' encouragement about how great the old inn is.
Eventually Yoongi's gets out of the car, Holly jumping behind him as he stretches. Against his will, Yoongi walks inside of the old place.
All of their boxed furniture is scattered around the rooms. It reeks of old burned wood and fresh paint, the interior looking like it's from the middle centuries.
"Dad. Why did we move here?" He snarls with disgust.
"Well, son, my mother always used to take me here when I was your age." His father replies.
Yoongi rolls his eyes. "I'm already bored. The car was better." He growls.
"Come on, Yoongi." His mother says, trying to make him smile as she takes her hand-painted paintings from the protective foil and begins to line them up. "This is a new start-"
"It's a start I never wanted to make!" Yoongi yells. "I had friends! I was in a band! Have you even thought about how I felt about this?!"
His parents stay silent as Yoongi runs his hands through his hair annoyed.
"I'm going out with Holly. He deserves to go back too. To our real home." Yoongi snarls, clipping the collar on Holly's neck and slamming the door shut behind him.
All he sees is green. Yoongi is already annoyed with it.
His ears pick up the annoying sound of crowing. The same color as his raven hair, when Yoongi looks up at the annoying beast, his eyes soften.
It's a raven, sitting on the roof, tilting its head at him and crowing, as if it's saying something he couldn't understand.
Yoongi knew one thing. Ravens were incredibly rare in Korea, especially Seoul.
Holly growls and barks at it, causing it to fly away.
Yoongi sighs and his head bows back down. The only interesting thing just flew away.
He follows the path in the forest as Yoongi chuckles at Holly, who sniffs every little thing when the leech is clipped off to let him run freely.
Suddenly, Yoongi hears the crowing again. Holly barks and follows the flying bird, causing Yoongi's eyes to widen and quickly follow his dog, knowing very well that calling him wasn't going to get him back.
Yoongi's eyes widen and he stops in his tracks when he sees an old gate. It's covered in vines and looks almost hundreds of years old, the stone now a dirty yellow and cracks filling it.
There is a small bit of text on it, but Yoongi doesn't read it. He runs after his dog, who jumps over the suddenly opening vines and disappears.
Yoongi's eyes are wide as plates, and without a second thought, he runs after Holly before the vines fully close, and Yoongi disappears as well, leaving the portal just the way it was before the raven activated it.
Yoongi sees... nothing.
He's in a pit of darkness. The floor he stands on feels moist and cloudy. He looks around in fear, calling out to his dog, but his voice echoes in the dark space.
As Yoongi progressively starts to run towards any exit, trying to find one, he feels as if his spine stretches out, his chest pushing itself out and his feet leaning on something.
It doesn't hurt, strangely. Yoongi gasps in fear, trembling when something soft and fast caresses his cheek.
He holds it quickly, holding a black feather. A raven's feather. It disappears into mist when Yoongi feels something under him as he starts to run, as if it's carrying him through to the end without actually controlling whatever he's on.
Yoongi is panicking inside, but for some reason, his body doesn't allow himself to shake.
There is a blinding light that welcomes him, and he holds onto whatever suddenly throws his body back, blinking at the bright light.
He pants, his voice shaking slightly. He hears breezing and neighing, the black creature underneath him rearing and coming back down with a strong huff of its hooves.
Yoongi slowly caresses the muscle under the palm of his hand. A horse. He's sitting on a fucking horse.
The black Friesian horse has some kind of cloth blanket over it, shaped in the forms of flames when it drapes down next to Yoongi's legs.
Yoongi slowly sits up, letting go of the horse's manes and grabbing the thick fiery shaped red reins and tugging at it as if he knew what he was doing.
The horse breezes and hops forward slightly.
Yoongi looks at his hands, covered by fiery red gloves. Did his hands just look... bigger? He looks down at his chest, covered by some sort of red armor in different shades, a golden chest plate over his shoulder blades and collarbones. The heavy feeling on his shoulders is a cape, and on his head, a helmet. A helmet with red feathers, the shapes of those of a bird of prey.
In utter panic and shock, Yoongi quickly takes the helm off, looking at the golden details, the fiery details taking his breath away.
"What... How...?"
"Who are you?!"
Yoongi looks up at the voice with wide eyes, seeing a male dressed almost exactly like him, the reins a beautiful wave shape like the ocean waves, as well as on the bottom of the horse's blanket and the back of the male's cape.
He's dressed in blue, the attire much more elegant and calm than Yoongi's own fire.
"W-who are you?!" He counters.
His horse breezes, shaking its head that causes Yoongi's elbow to hit the holster of the thin sharp sword.
Yoongi is scared. Very scared.
"Me?" The boy smiles, taking his own helmet off, revealing his curly blonde hair. "My name is Park Jimin! Welcome to Seoul!" He says.
"Seoul?" Yoongi gasps. "But that's the small town with old people!"
Jimin chuckles softly. "Oh, you're new." He smiles. "No. This is Seoul from the 19's. How old are you?"
Yoongi's eyes widen. "That old?!"
Jimin smiles, stepping closer to him, the horse moving elegantly as well as his body. "Yes. The gate only takes the chosen five riders. I suppose you are the last one. I, myself, am the rider who is the element of water, fifteen years old in the normal world."
Yoongi's mouth falls open. "Fifteen?!"
"How old are you?"
"Eighteen."
Jimin smiles. "Come with me, the others are waiting for you."
Yoongi looks at his horse, quickly following Jimin's actions to put his helmet back on and tap his heels on the horse's stomach.
He almost yelps when the horse skips stepping and goes straight into a trot, following up with Jimin.
He sees Jimin standing and gently sitting back down in the blue saddle. He carefully copies his actions, noticing the comfortable feeling. As if the way of horse riding got imprinted into his mind.
"Ready?" Jimin asks him.
"For?" Yoongi replies.
"Galloping to the Hollow Woods. Our hideout is hidden there. Many of the banned men from the town are there to help us with combat. They helped up find out elements and control them."
Yoongi tilts his head but nods. "Let's go. Even though I demand an explanation later."
"Guaranteed."
Yoongi taps his heels once again, following Jimin through the forest until they enter a small hideout, like Jimin had said.
When Yoongi enters, the people inside gasp at him, either clapping, smiling, waving. They look poor.
"What's your name?" Jimin asks.
"Yoongi, Min Yoongi."
"Well Yoongi, this is my younger brother, Jungkook." Jimin says, pointing a man dressed in brown. "He is in control of the earth element."
Yoongi nods, smiling at the male who was childishly making a sandcastle.
"He's seven." Jimin whispers with a giggle.
Yoongi can't help but laugh a little, when he notices a tall man in green.
"That's Namjoon. Sixteen years old and studying for university as a biologist. He is in control of the element of wood, or nature."
Namjoon hears the clattering of hooves. He smiles and waves, and Yoongi politely bows his head at him.
"And of course, Seokjin. Nineteen year old and controls the element of air and wind."
Yoongi bows at the older male, who politely bows back.
"And lastly Taehyung, element of metal!"
Yoongi turns his head and turns, but he can't find the boy. He suddenly feels arms around his chest, a head in the crook of his neck and giggles.
"Taehyung?" Yoongi asks with a chuckle.
"Hello!" A happy voice cheers back. "Finally! I've been here for days!"
"Aren't your parents worried?"
"Nah! One minute here is like one second in the real world. Not that this isn't real." Taehyung smiles.
Yoongi notices that he's dressed in a beautiful sharp purple attire that hugs his body shape.
"You're pretty." Taehyung smiles. "You look very handsome!"
Yoongi just smiles. "Thank you. You do as well." He says.
Taehyung smiles and slides off Yoongi's horse, patting its side comfortingly. "Welcome to the riders, hyung."
Yoongi smiles widely. "Thank you... Really, but why am I here?"
The barking of some of the guard dogs suddenly makes Yoongi's eyes snap open. "HOLLY!"
"Who?"
"My dog! He ran through the portal! Where is Holly?!" Yoongi panics.
Jimin smiles. "Is it that fluffball? He ran towards us and pulled at my robes earlier."
The loud barking turns into happy panting, the brown fluffy grown dog. Yoongi gasps and quickly dismounts, letting the grown dog jump into his arms.
"Holly!"
Taehyung squeals at the dog. "Oh my God! Your dog is so cute!"
Yoongi smiles widely. "This is Holly, Holly, meet Taehyung!"
Holly happily nuzzles his nose in Taehyung's cheek, and Yoongi squeals inside of how cute they look.
Even though he may be older in this strange world, he feels as if he's home with these strange five other men. Specifically the boy who had surprised him.
"Why... Why are we here then?" Yoongi asks.
"Well, first of all, we are the protectors of Seoul. Honestly, no idea who came up with that because it's just totally cliche. And second of all, the prince is looking for a husband, and he wants one of us." Jimin replies.
"I hope it's not me." Jungkook says with a pout, that actually looks really cute, even though he's grown up in this dimension. "I'm seven!"
Yoongi chuckles. "We're all too young to marry. Even though we look ten years older in this life. I'm glad though! I can now legally drink alcohol!" He says happily.
Seokjin smiles. "I already could."
"Show off." Namjoon chuckles amused. "Yoongi, why don't you join me with your element?"
Yoongi smiles, slightly. "Sure, but can't we just... not use weapons?"
"We wish." Taehyung mumbles. "But strangely, the elements make us who we are. We protect the town with the magic in the weapons. If we didn't have that, we would just be colored riders with helmets."
Yoongi nods understandingly. "Oh... Well, then why don't you all show me your elements first?" He asks.
They look at each other and nod.
"After you've got your weapon, we'll go to Seoul and let the prince choose. The bad thing is... The one chosen, can't go back home." Seokjin says. "I've been here for a few days, almost a week. I've met the prince."
"Is he cute?" Jimin asks.
"I guess, yes. His name is Hoseok, and he's very cute and happy. His smile is really unique and-"
"Someone is crushing on the prince." Namjoon teases. "Are you falling for him already, Seokjin hyung?"
Seokjin flashes a glare at him. "No." He mumbles.
Yoongi chuckles and quickly jogs towards them as Namjoon clicks a crossbow off his belt.
It's made of a thick green wood, darker at the end, which is cut into the shape of a bird's beak. There is a quiver with... one arrow.
Namjoon takes the smooth item out of the quiver and clicks it on his crossbow, pulling the cord back swiftly and aiming at the small target that is half the camp away.
"I bet he can't hit it!" Jungkook grins.
"I did it four times, I can do it again. With precision and good aim, with you don't need." Namjoon smirks.
Yoongi watches as Namjoon unleashes the arrow. It soars through the air as it cuts it away in its path and splits into the target, bullseye. From the arrow comes a bit of wood, but since the target was already made from wood it didn't really matter.
And the empty quiver was once again filled with an arrow. It really was magic.
"Usually it turns things into wood, but because the target is already wood... well." Namjoon smiles.
Yoongi chuckles. "There's nothing to woodify."
"Not a word."
"Don't care."
"Me next! Me next!" Taehyung squeals happily, running towards a small basket.
From the basket, he gets a rough leather belt with a small pouch of metal disk-like blades. He reaches out and grabs a curved handle with a trigger, sliding one of the blades in between the metal holder on top until it clicks shut.
Taehyung bites his lip and closes one eye, throwing his arm back and throws it forward, pulling the trigger as the blade continues to fly through the air until it sticks into the target.
Not in the bullseye like Namjoon had, but still close to it.
Taehyung smiles widely, revealing his boxy smile. "It's meant to cut through most things. It's one of the reasons why the wood is so thick."
Yoongi tilts his head and chuckles. He has to admit that Taehyung's energy is much more life-giving in a place without a phone.
He hasn't thought about playing a video game ever since he got here. Yoongi smiles. He likes it here.
Jimin pulls a blue staff from the ground, smiling as the element rests comfortably. The swirls of the blue staff grow into a circle of waves and water around his hand.
"Watch and learn." He says cockily, grinning as he sticks it back into the ground near Yoongi.
He tilts his head with confusion when Jimin closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. His hands hover over the weapon, and finally Yoongi starts to understand why it's slightly hollow.
Water slowly boils up under Jimin's control, and when it reaches the handle, Jimin throws his hands to Yoongi with a wide grin.
Yoongi doesn't have time to react. On one moment he's dry, and on the other he's soaked in water by Jimin's little prank.
He hears laughter, and he can't help but croak out in gasps and laughs as well. Iy drips from his hair and clothes, his boots filled to the brim with water.
"Here, let me help you dry up." Taehyung offers, taking Yoongi's met glove and pulling him with him.
Yoongi chuckles and laughs, shivering at the same time. How ironic. Water beats fire.
Taehyung grabs a towel once they're inside the large tent... or hut, and helps Yoongi to dry his hair, telling the older to stay still.
Yoongi can feel his face heat up, fire in his veins when Taehyung rushes a hand through his wet hair, trying to style it in different ridiculous ways as he hands him the towel to rub himself dry.
Yoongi quickly rushes the rough material over his body and clothes, still wet, but less soaked.
"Thanks." Yoongi smiles. "You aimed very well, back there..."
Taehyung smiles widely. "Thank you. I can't wait to see you fire up."
"Really? Are you that excited?" Yoongi asks, gulping nervously.
Taehyung nods happily. "Fire melts metal, right? Let's see if you can melt me." He teases.
Yoongi stiffens when he feels Taehyung's hands slowly wrap around his chest and feels a pair of lips in his neck.
"I know you'll do great..." The younger whispers sweetly, before smiling widely as if nothing happened and hops away.
Yoongi feels his cheeks, blushing furiously. The water didn't help to cool him down what's however.
When Yoongi walks back outside, his eyes draw to Taehyung. He bites his lip until Namjoon hands him a sword with pride.
The handle is made of a pure gold, copper fire merged in it, the red ribbon wrapped around the handle as it lays strongly in his hands.
"I... I already have a sword." Yoongi says hesitantly.
"We know." Jungkook replies.
"This is the element of fire." Jimin says. "Your element."
Yoongi gulps nervously and grasps the handle tightly. The blade is shiny and blinking in the dull sunlight through the leaves of the trees. Yoongi can see himself in it, and in the background, he can see Taehyung.
His heart thumps in his chest, once again the fire runs through his veins. He yelps when the sword lights up in fire, the flames warm against their skin as Namjoon backs away from the sudden spark.
"Wow..." Taehyung gasps in amazement, and Yoongi feels the pride rise in him.
Fire burns through him, his eyes wide when staring at the flaming weapon.
"You really are the element of fire." Seokjin says.
"Yeah, no, the fiery red outfit didn't say it already." Jungkook rolls his eyes.
Yoongi chuckles, the fire slowly fading as it pulls away, leaving a regular shark sword.
Taehyung hugs him tightly. "You did it! You did it! You did it!"
In the happy adrenaline, Yoongi presses his lips on Taehyung's. He immediately pulls away, face red from shock. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He squeals.
Taehyung wants to say something, but Namjoon cuts him off.
"Let's mount. We have a way to go to Seoul. How much I love it here, we have a world to return to." He says, clicking his crossbow to his belt and stepping on the stirrups and landing in the saddle, putting his helmet on.
Jimin nods sadly. "He's right. We need to do this quickly." He says softly, following Namjoon's movements.
Taehyung smiles at Yoongi, pecking his cheek before putting his helmet on as well, the belt already clipped around his pretty waist.
Jungkook and Seokjin do the same as they wait for Yoongi, who stares sadly at his horse and Holly.
He likes it here. Much more than at home. He likes the people here. He likes Taehyung...
What if he goes back and never sees him again?
It brings a wild sting in his heart when he brings it up in broken words. "What if we never meet in the real world...?"
"We'll exchange numbers. We all live close to the portal, so..." Seokjin replies with a smile, reaching a hand out for Yoongi to take. "We'll keep in contact, and we'll keep meeting up every time. We'll go here to meet with the future husband of the prince. We will be together for a long time."
Yoongi smiles and takes his hand as Seokjin pulls him to his horse.
Yoongi sets Holly in front of the saddle and climbs up, his helmet on his head as they gallop away from the Hollow Woods, until an old city appears in their sights.
Seoul...
Well, old Seoul...
The clock chimes three as the riders arrive at the courtyard, where the prince is simply walking around, happily talking to his people and laughing.
It was clear that he was social and a lovable person.
The clattering of hooves caught his attention, his heads turning to the six riders with a wide smile. "You've arrived!" He exclaims. "Excellent! Come, come!" He urges.
They trot after the prince, nervous, anxious. One of them will not leave...
"Take off your helmets, even though they are fabulous!" The prince giggles.
Doing as told, Yoongi glances at Taehyung, both holding a blush when they meet eyes.
"Crushy?" The prince teases, catching their little moment.
Yoongi chuckles and smiles. "Sorry, your highness."
"Oh, please, call me Hoseok, or Hobi if you prefer!"
Jimin can feel himself blushing furiously, as does Seokjin. Hoseok is handsome, kind and caring.
Hoseok eyes every one of them, his mother and father joining him.
"I feel more drawn to them..." Hoseok mumbles.
"Them?" His father asks. "Who?"
"The element of water and air."
The two hold their breath Yoongi and Taehyung release them.
"But also the element of earth speaks to me." The prince says.
Jungkook widens his eyes in fear. "B-but your highness, I'm only seven!"
Hoseok tilts his head and smiles. "Mentally, I assume! Such humor!" He laughs.
"No! I'm actually seven years old!" Jungkook panics.
"I volunteer for Jungkook." Jimin says quickly. "Please let him go. He is so young where we come from..."
Hoseok looks at the panicked younger, smiling kindly. "You're very brave, water rider."
Jimin nods his head in respect as a thank you, feeling Jungkook tug at his shirt. "No hyung! Come home with me!" The youngest cries.
"The prince decides... Kookie, I don't want you to stay here your entire life. I want you to go home and live your life, even if that means without me."
"NO!" Jungkook shrieks. "NO!"
"Shh..." Hoseok smiles. "I won't pick your friend."
"He's my brother..." Jungkook sobs. "My older brother..."
Hoseok nods understandingly. "I know you aren't from here, but this is what my parents want. Who is the oldest?"
Seokjin raises his hand. "Me, your highness."
"I told you, call me Hoseok!" Hoseok says smiling. He carefully takes Seokjin's hand. "Is it alright if I ask you to be my husband?"
Seokjin holds his breath. They all do. Hoseok waits in anticipation, nervousness creeping in their veins. Seokjin sighs. "Hoseok, I... I'm nineteen. That's young to marry. But you are a man I wished I had when I was in the real world. I have no siblings, a foster home, and thus no place to go back to."
Hoseok bites his lip when Seokjin smiles. "I will marry you."
"H-hyung..." Namjoon gulps.
"It's fine, Namjoon." Seokjin says smiling. "I've enjoyed your company. All of yours. I'm going to miss you, but..." He smiles. "I guess now that I have a fiance, we have a wedding to plan."
Seokjin dismounts, letting Hoseok hug him tightly. "May I kiss you?" Hoseok asks softly.
Seokjin nods, his eyes slightly in shock when abruptly Hoseok's soft lips are against his.
Namjoon and Jimin can't help but smile as Seokjin melts into his soft kiss.
Hugging each other tightly in the moment, before Namjoon accidentally places a deep kiss on his plump lips.
Jungkook gasps and giggles, making a heart with his fingers and kissy noises. "Jiminie is in looove! Jiminie is in looove!"
"Shut it..." Jimin blushes, smiling widely at Namjoon, who quickly pecks his lips again.
Numbers exchanged on paper, the five left over riders say goodbye to Seokjin and Hoseok, almost hugging the oldest to death and shedding a few tears.
Currently, they're back in front of the gate.
Holly has already jumped through, but the riders hesitate...
"Taehyung..." Yoongi starts. "Will I see you again?"
Taehyung pecks his lips and holds his hand tightly. "Of course. You'll see us all."
Yoongi smiles, hugging everyone a last time before they go through the gate, one by one.
And when it's Yoongi's turn, he gulps, he takes one last look at Seoul, before sending a soft flying kiss to wherever Seokjin may be, and riding through.
He feels the fog under his feet once again, and the way that his horse disappears into the growing raven makes him smile when he feels himself grow back into his eighteen-year-old body.
Holly sits there, collar, leech and all, the small puppy, and Yoongi, back to stubborn eighteen year old, takes a past look at the gate as it closes, he pulls his phone from his pocket and takes a few pictures around him, including the gate.
He looks at the note and sets the phone numbers in them, running back to the old inn with a wide smile on his face, tears almost falling.
He can't wait to go to town.
"Dad! Mom!" Yoongi yells happily. "Can I go to town?!" He practically yells.
His mother jumps from her painting, sighing when she sees its just her son. But what she's painting makes Yoongi gasp and smile as a few tears fall from his eyes.
"Yoongi? What's wrong?"
"Can... Can I have that in my room?" Yoongi asks, pointing st the horizontal painting of the six riders, rearing in the evening sun.
His mother looks at the painting. "Yes... Of course, sweetheart. Why are you crying?"
"It's just so beautiful..." Yoongi says. "How did you get this idea?"
His mother smiles. "I thought of you and it just popped up. I think... this is my favorite painting up until now."
"Yeah..." Yoongi smiles. "Mine too."
When Yoongi waits on the bench in the town's center, his eyes widen and light up with glee when he sees a young blonde boy with a seven-year-old, jumping around the fountain.
With them, walks a sixteen-year-old, chestnut hair with dimples, holding the blonde's hand.
And there, on the other side, is a boy with a familiar bright boxy smile. His dark brown hair is wet from the fountain diving, his face lighting up with happiness.
Yoongi jumps up and jumps onto Taehyung's body, engulfing him in a tight hug.
"I can never forget that smile." Yoongi mumbles. "Too cute."
Taehyung gasps and smiles widely. "Yoongi?!"
Yoongi smiles widely and nods, pressing their lips together. "You're still the prettiest I've ever seen."
"EW!" Seven-year-old Jungkook whines. "Kissy!"
The five boys break into laughter as Namjoon places a gentle kiss on Jimin's lips.
"Let's meet at the gate every morning to greet Seokjin. We'll stay the day, go back when only one hour has passed." Namjoon suggests.
They nod their heads, agreeing with the idea.
When Yoongi invites Taehyung home, he shows him his mother's painting that hangs in his new room.
Even Taehyung sheds a tear when he sees how beautiful it is. He can't wait to see Seokjin. Yoongi makes a mental note to take a picture and print it to take to Seokjin tomorrow morning.
He already loves it here in Seoul.

Real life version + horse view
Nice action shot (this is actually from a parkshow in the Netherlands where I'm from. This was based on the book of that show, Raveleijn, by Paul Van Loon. There is also a series.)
I know what you're thinking. WHERE IS SEOKJIN?!
Originally, the air element didn't exist in the book, so I made it one. I will make a helmet for Seokjin and a weapon. Be patient for the drawings since these are a lot.
