🦑Secret in the water🦑

Seokjin's POV

"Jungkookie! Come swim with us!" I yelled, hugging our maknae close to me. Jungkook sighed. "Sorry hyung, I can't." He replied. "I have... work."

I pouted. "But you never come swim with us! It's just water and sunbathing!" Jungkook sighed again. "Hyung. I don't like water." "And you bathe every evening for more than two hours! Why is the water bill so high?! Maybe you know!" I whined.

Jungkook chuckled. "Some other time hyung. Promise." "You better!" I pouted. "Come on Yoongs!"

Yoongi whined. "All I wanted to do is sleep..." Taehyung laughed, jumping onto his back. "Get a tan hyung! You look like a ghost!" He exclaimed. "This ghost will kill you if you don't get off me." He threatened.

I rolled my eyes. "Come on. To the beach!"

With Yoongi almost falling asleep while driving, we managed to safely arrive at the beach and find a free spot. It was warm, I honestly just came to enjoy the underwater. Taehyung came because he really wanted to. Yoongi was forced to go because Jungkook wanted to be alone.

Yoongi put on his mask with a sigh. "Wake me up if something interesting happens." He mumbled, before turning to his side in the shadow and falling asleep.

--I like writing in 3rd person--

Jungkook listened for the door to close and for the car to drive away, before he got up. He looked at his skin with a hesitant frown. He rubbed his finger over his arm, feeling the once soft skin rougher than it was.

He was drying out. Thank god for his hyungs to leave. Someone was waiting for him, and he'd gladly join him. He took a bag with him with a small box, which was filled with small pearls and scales, all in the colors red and orange.

He smiled to himself, leaving the door unlocked before leaving the house, running towards the sea. He hid all of his stuff behind the half-circle curved rock, taking off all of his clothes and stuffing them inside of the bag.

He let an unusual sound escape his lips, like a dolphin's noise. "I'm already here." A voice chuckled. "I was waiting for you." "Morning Jimin hyung!" Jungkook greeted. The purple-blue scaled merman smiled at him. "What was the hold-up?"

"Yoongi hyung." Jungkook answered as he jumped into the water. A soft tingle rose up his lower half, watching as his legs fused into a merman's tail, his hair changing the color to the same sunset red. He smiled at Jimin, who was quick to hug him.

"It's been so long!" He squealed. "I know! I was crying out too so... good idea for them to do to the beach." Jimin gasped and smiled. "Can you now show me your hyungs?!" He yelled. Jungkook chuckled and nodded.

He swam a bit further towards the public beach, careful to lower his temptations. "That one right there." Jungkook said, pointing a blonde boy who was sleeping in the shadow. "That's Yoongi hyung."

Jimin watched with his mouth agape. "He is so pale! And so pretty... If I could find him alone I would drag him into the ocean, where we can live a happy forever after." He swooned. Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"That is Jin hyung... well, his real name is Seokjin, but we call him Jin." Jungkook said. "He looks so pretty!" Jimin exclaimed. His mouth agape at the brown-haired man who was trying to get Taehyung off his back.

"And that is Taehyung, or Tae!" He smiled. Jimin gasped at the man who was wearing a boxy smile. "I want to take them all..." He mumbled. "Such handsome humans..."

Jungkook slapped the back of his head. "Those are my hyungs you're talking about." He snarled. Jimin giggled softly. "Sorry. But admit it, for humans they're really handsome." He teased.

Jungkook sighed. "I know. They really are. If I could I would want to drag Jin hyung with me for the rest of eternity." He said. Jimin smiled. "You can!" "But he doesn't know. He would be heartbroken to see me like this... And they don't know about me yet." Jungkook said sadly.

Jimin widened his eyes. "They still don't know that you're a merman? It's been almost five years!" He yelled. "I know." Jungkook sighed. "But I'm scared. I gave them hints here and there but they don't believe. Whenever I give them an obvious hint they won't get it. The only one who questions it is Yoongi hyung."

Jimin sighed dreamily. "The sleeping guy?" "Hm-hm." Jungkook nodded. Jimin swam up slightly, peeking his head out of the water. The top half of his hair dried out ever so slightly, showing soft strokes of his brown human hair, while the part underwater stayed a dreamy blue.

"I think Hobi would like Taehyung... Don't you think?" Jimin asked. "Hoseok is with Namjoon hyung. Remember?" Jungkook snarled. Jimin whined and pouted. "Than I'll take two for myself." He grinned.

Jungkook sighed. "We're already too close to land. Come on." He grabbed Jimin's arm, pulling him back down. Jimin whined and struggled against his grip. "No! I want to observe more! What if the Yoongi guy wakes up? I can lure him with my voice!" He exclaimed. Jungkook let out a rumbled hiss. "Leave him alone. He wouldn't take it nicely."

Jimin pouted. "But he looks so cute." "And he acts like a jerk sometimes so let's go." Jungkook snarled, pulling Jimin with him.

Jin frowned slightly when he managed to get Taehyung off him. "I'm worried about Jungkook." He said softly. "You're too worried." Yoongi grumbled. "Let the boy be. He didn't want to go."

Taehyung pouted. "Come on hyung! Come dive with me!" Jin pulled his arm from Taehyung's grip. "Will you stop bothering me then?" He snarled. Taehyung smiled and nodded. "Yep!" He answered, popping the P.

Jin sighed. "I'm diving with Tae. Watch our stuff for us." He ordered. Yoongi just held up a thumb, letting his arm fall and going back to his comfortable sleeping position.

He just couldn't fall asleep. And there is one thing that can make him not fall asleep.
Noises.
And being watched.

Noise was everywhere so that wasn't a huge problem. The problem is the eyes that he felt burning in his skull. Who was watching him? And why?

Jimin whined and complained when Jungkook dragged him deeper into the sea. "Why not?!" He yelled. "Because humans can't breathe underwater!" Jungkook shrieked, tired of all his complaining.

Jimin widened his eyes. "Humans... can't breathe underwater?" He asked. Jungkook shook his head. "When we drag them into the sea to our homes, we kill them. They don't live off the water like we do." He said softly.

Jimin sighed. "Oh..." He looked down at his fin. "Can't we make them like us?" He asked. Jungkook sighed deeply. "We can, but I don't want Jin to live a double life. Yoongi wouldn't know where to sleep and Taehyung would get lost." He said.

Jimin looked up. "Hey... aren't those your hyungs?" Jungkook looked up, squinting his eyes. He swam a little bit closer, gasping and immediately going back down, pulling Jimin with him. "Yes they are! Now go!" He yelled.

"How did you know it was them?" Jimin asked. "I was just guessing it." Jungkook sighed. "I recognize those broad shoulders anywhere." He said softly. He squealed when something hit his tail, turning around.

He widened his eyes when he saw a rock slowly fall down, seeing Taehyung with his arm stretched out. How even did a rock hit his tail?

He was too shocked to see Jin getting closer to him. Jimin pulled at his arm. "Okay I get what you mean it's, like, super scary so go, go, go!" He squealed. Jungkook quickly turned around, yelling in pain when he moved his fin. He inspected it slightly, wincing of pain.

A small amount of scaled had been scarred and the fin was wounded. Not heavily, but enough for the water to affect him.

He tensed up wildly when a hand touched his shoulder. Too scared to turn around, Jimin hissed at them, smacking his tail into their faces.

"Get away from us!" He yelled. Seokjin was breathtaken and scared. Were they real, or was he seeing stuff. Taehyung seemed to be crazy too, considering that he poked at Jimin's tail. Jimin yelped and pulled his tail back, hiding in Jungkook's chest.

"Stay away from me!" He squealed. Jungkook protectively wrapped his arms around Jimin's body, for one moment forgetting what actually was going on. He hissed at Taehyung, who stared with wide eyes. "Go. Away." He snarled.

Jin didn't remove his hand. In fact, he pulled at the muscle, causing Jungkook to turn around to them. Jungkook simple looked away, avoiding eye contact with them. "I said go away." He said softly, before diving down with Jimin in his arms.

Both humans were shocked and baffled. Was that their Jungkook? Jin, without any doubt, followed them into the depth. Yes, mermen were faster, but Jin never skipped a leg day!

He managed to grab Jimin by his fin, causing the merman to scream in pain of the sudden grip. Jungkook hissed at Jin, letting Jimin go and pulling at his suit. "I said go away! What do you not get about that?!" He yelled.

Jin gulped. It really was Jungkook... Taehyung was quick to catch up. He began to form his fingers to letters.

미안헤
Sorry

Jungkook his frown faded slightly. They were in the deep sea... He basically dragged them down here. A little further couldn't be that bad... right?

Jungkook gripped Jin by his wrist, diving even further down into the sea. Jin was confused, and oxygen was running low. He began to pull at Jungkook's tight grip. "Jungkookie!" Jimin yelled. "Remember what you said to me! Humans can't breathe underwater!"

Jungkook immediately let go of Jin's wrist, watching as the elder immediately began to swim up. Pearly tears pricked in Jungkook's eyes. How could he have been so stupid?

He grabbed his wrist once more, pulling him up above the water. Jin, pulled the diving glasses down, letting go of the oxygen tank, breathing heavily and fast. "Jungkook?!" He yelled.

Jungkook frowned sadly. "Hey hyung..." He mumbled. "What the hell is this?!" Jin yelled when Taehyung got up, helped by Jimin.

"You have to tell them Kookie. It was bound to happen anyway." Jimin said. Jungkook nodded, knowing that he was right. "I'm a merman... Always have been." He mumbled.

Jin stared at him with wide eyes. Jungkook expected him to yell, but instead... "Tae! You threw a rock at him!" Jin yelled. Jungkook looked up at him with shock. "You... aren't mad?"

"Why would I be?" Jin asked. "I was worried about you. Being mad for no reason is the least of my worries." He said. Jungkook looked down. "Will you tell Yoongi hyung?" He asked.

Taehyung pouted. "It explains the water bill. But Yoongi hyung has to know." He said, wiping his wet hair out of his face. "Yoongi has to know." Jin confirmed. Jungkook looked down. "Maybe we should keep Jimin away then..."

"So that's your name!" Taehyung exclaimed, pinching Jimin's mermaid ears. Jimin hissed at him, pulling him back underwater. Taehyung clawed his way up, causing Jimin to growl. "Let him go Jimin hyung!" Jungkook whined. Jimin growled, letting Taehyung go.

"Why shouldn't we bring him?" Jin asked. Jimin looked up at him. "I want to take him with me." He started. "I just want to look at his face." He shrugged, smiling childishly. "Take him with you?" Taehyung asked. "Drag him into the ocean... To have him be with me forever." Jimin smiled.

Jin widened his eyes. "Jungkook... Have you ever had that with any of us?" Jungkook shrugged. "Sometimes." Jin gulped. "When? And why?"

Jungkook rubbed his scales. "Whenever you'd take care of me... Sweetly. Dragging someone in the ocean is a feeling of... selfishness." Jungkook sighed. "It's like having a boyfriend or a girlfriend. You want to have them with you forever. That's why we do it. I only recently found out that humans can't breathe underwater... So... we killed quite a few people..."

Jin widened his eyes. "Did you... Just then..." Jungkook nodded. "I wanted to drag you down..." A pearly tear rolled down his cheek, sighing deeply.

He dived back down into the water, only to have Jin grab his arm. "Don't leave..." He murmured. "But I wanted to hurt you." Jungkook protested. "But I don't get why." Jin defended.

"Why did you want to drag me down? Why did you want me all for yourself?" Jin asked softly. Jungkook sighed deeply. "I think you can figure it out yourself. Just... I'll explain everything at the house. Enjoy some diving while I wet my body." He said.

"Wet your body?" Taehyung asked. "I'm a merman hyung. We live off water. The water from a bath isn't enough. Water is like oxygen for me. I live off it." Jungkook said. "Come on Jimin hyung."

Jimin grabbed Jungkook's fin, causing the younger to yelp in pain. "Hyung!" "We can turn them..." Jimin mumbled. Jungkook immediately shook his head. "We can't. I don't want it."

"But what if we do?" Jin asked. Jungkook looked up at him in shock. "You don't. Once a week at least you have to wet your body, else you'll die, you'll be tempted by any live fish. To eat then. The temptation to drag beautiful men and women down into the ocean is huge." Jungkook listed.

Jin shut him up, smashing his lips against Jungkook's own. "I don't care." He mumbled. "Because the only one I'd want to drag down is you." Jungkook was in shock. He hesitantly touched his lips, still feeling the gentle tingle.

"Why? Why do you like such an abomination like me?" He sniffled. Jimin snapped his head up. "Are you calling me ugly?! May I remind you that mermen are considered the hottest species EVER?!" Jimin snarled.

Jin chuckled. "Because I love you Jungkookie. There is no other way around it. I want to touch you, hug you and care for you. No matter if you're a merman or if you'd drag me into the ocean. Be selfish all you want and just have me." He smiled.

Jungkook looked down. "You don't know how big the temptation is to just drag you back down again..." "Than don't hold it back." Jin said softly. "I want to be yours Jungkook. I want to be like you."

Jungkook swallowed back a few tears. "Follow me." He mumbled. Jin, Taehyung and Jimin followed with confusion as they swam back to the half circled rock.

Jungkook opened the small box, picking a scale from it. "I know it may seem weird hyung, but I need you to swallow it. All in one go." Jin widened his eyes. "That won't be that hard." He chuckled.

Jin pecked Jungkook's lips again, before taking the scale from Jungkook's pale fingers, swallowing the hard unflexible material. Jin coughed slightly, shaking his head. "It's weird how it even has a taste!" He whined.

Jungkook chuckled softly. "Sorry. You don't wanna know where it's from." He rubbed the back of his neck. "You?" Jin asked. "What part..." Jungkook corrected. "Your fin?" Jungkook shook his head. "Is it your bum?!" Taehyung yelled.

Jungkook groaned. "No! It's not my bum! Get your head outta the water!" He whined, his face almost flushing the same red as his tail. "No! It's from my thighs!" He squealed. Jin chuckled. "I don't mind it. It's really no big deal for me."

Jungkook smiled. "Thank god." He chuckled. Jin groaned, clutching his stomach. "Ouuuch~!" He whined childishly. "It hurts!" Jungkook threw his arms around Jin's neck. "You're going to be okay!" He pouted.

Jin whined. "Jungkookie! My legs hurt!" He yelled. Jungkook pouted. "Maybe you should take the suit off." "Can you do it for me?" Jin asked. Jungkook nodded, swimming to his back to pull the zipper down and almost ripping all the equipment off.

He gasped softly. "You're growing scales hyung!" He squealed. Jin widened his eyes, squirming his body out of the suit. Taehyung looked away, peeking in the box.

"Oh my god!" Jin squealed. "So that's why it hurts." He whined. "You'll be fine hyung. It's one time then no more!" Jimin tilted his head. "Well, the more you transform the less it'll hurt, but it will for the next few times." He said.

Jin whined again. "Jimin! Don't make me regret it!" Jimin threw his arms up. "Just telling the truth!" Taehyung choked slightly. "These things have a taste!" He yelled. "They're disgusting!" Jungkook turned around to him. "Please tell me you didn't eat a scale..."

Taehyung smiled, rubbing his neck. "Oops?" Jimin pouted. "You're gonna be like us!" He squealed, pulling Taehyung in for a hug. Taehyung, confused as ever, hesitantly hugged back. "What?" Jin chuckled. "I think what he's trying to say is: welcome to the merman family." He chuckled.

"What about Yoongi hyung?" Taehyung asked worriedly. Jin frowned. "What do we do about him?" He asked. Jungkook shrugged. "I guess... We should just show him and see what he thinks about it." Jin nodded.

He looked down at the gold amber scaled that were flowing down his body. "It's actually becoming harder to use my legs. It's becoming uncomfortable to even feel my toes!" He whined. Jungkook smiled, caressing the scales.

Jin shivered slightly at the feeling. "Kookie!" Jin whined, diving down and pulling at Jungkook's fin. The younger squealed, slapping Jin's chest with his tail. "Don't do that!" Jin chuckled. "Sorry."

A loud ringtone caught their attention. Taehyung dried his hands and reached into the bag for Jungkook's phone. "It's Yoongi hyung."

Jungkook frowned. "Pick it up and put it on speaker. Taehyung nodded, doing as told.

"Are you still home?" Yoongi asked.
"No, I'm actually in the pool." Jungkook lied.
"Ah... Listen, it's been almost an hour and Jin hyung and Taehyung should be back by now. I haven't seen them ever since they went diving. Are they at home?" Yoongi asked.

Jungkook gulped. "Yeah, they're with me." He said softly.
"Good. Jin hyung?" Yoongi asked.

"Yeah?" Jin asked.
"Your clothes are still here. Did you go home in flippers and a suit?" Yoongi asked.

Jungkook nodded.
"Yeah... Tae and I did." Jin answered.
"Weird. Then why aren't you all at home?" Yoongi spat.

"What do you mean?" Jungkook asked.
"I'm currently at home. I looked at the pool. I searched the house. No one is here." Yoongi snarled. "So stop lying and tell me the truth. Where are you?"

Jungkook gulped. "Walk to the back of the house to the beach. You'll find a curved rock. Walk behind it. Don't scream or... do anything... please."
"On my way." Yoongi ended the call.

A moment of silence was shared between them. "So... Yoongi will find out?" Jin asked. Jungkook nodded. Taehyung whined when Jimin began to mess with the suit. "Careful! Jimin it hurts!" He whined. Jimin sighed. "Don't be such a fish..."

"I can't believe that this actually exists. Jungkook has been a merman all this time and we never knew." Jin said softly. "Sorry I never told you." Jungkook sighed. "You better be." Jimin looked up at the husky voice.

His mouth fell agape at the short blonde man, who crouched down at the shore. "I was starting to question why you avoided water. Turns out these two got into the same mess." Yoongi chuckled.

Jimin sighed dreamily. "Are you single?" He murmured. Yoongi raised an eyebrow at him. "What?" "What I asked." Jimin replied. "Are you single?" Yoongi sighed. "Yes I am. No, I don't want a relationship." He snarled.

Jimin pouted. "Aw... Not even with such a cute merman like me?" He winked. Yoongi rolled his eyes. "I'm sure. I'm not one to live in water. I like shadow." He spoke. Jimin hmph-ed childishly, diving down onto the sand, which wasn't that far from the top of the water, and sat down, his tail moving the sand around.

Yoongi chuckled. "So. Explain?" He sat down on the shore. Jungkook smiled shyly. "I've been born as a merman. My family existed of breeders. My father was a full merman, who married a human, my mother. My mother gave birth by my father in the water, both of them wanted a little merman. Here I am." He chuckled softly.

"Jimin and I were friends at a very young age. When my parents were searched, they left me at the door of Jin's parents. I've only seen Jimin in the water. He can't get out because both of his parents were merfolk. Breeding with a human is forbidden. That's how I assumed my parents died." Jungkook finished.

Jimin rubbed his lower back, still pouting like a child underwater. Yoongi nodded. "And how did Jin hyung and Tae get into this?" He asked. Jin chuckled nervously.

"Remember when we went diving?" Yoongi nodded. "We saw a vague shadow in the water. Two men of which we thought were drowning. That was when Taehyung threw a rock... and for some weird reason managed to hit Jungkook's tail. We thought it was a big dangerous fish or something." Jin said.

"Jungkook almost killed me... Dragging me into the depth of the ocean. He let go just in time and helped me up. He explained everything to us. We... love each other a lot. So I ate a scale of his. Now we're here. Taehyung also accidentally ate a scale. I swear on your sleep he is going to die early because of his curiosity." Jin said.

Taehyung pouted. "No I'm not!" "You are." Yoongi chuckled. "Alright. So what do we need for you to get in and out of the house from the pool to the ocean so we won't need to drag a bag?" He asked. Jungkook looked up at Yoongi. "Why?"

Yoongi chuckled. "I can fix the pool so we can have some sort of path from the ocean to the pool. It'll take a while, but it will be worth all the weight and stuff." He said. Jimin smiled widely. "So I can also peek into the house!"

Yoongi scoffed. "Creep." Taehyung chuckled. "Yeah. He is. He told me he wanted to drag you into the ocean to keep you all for himself." Jimin smacked the back of his head. "Don't you tell him that!" He whisper yelled.

Jungkook shook his head slightly. "That would be amazing Yoongi hyung." He smiled. Yoongi simply returned a small smile. "Congratulations on your relationship. And Jin hyung, congrats on a new life." He chuckled.

Jin smiled at him. "Thank you." Yoongi chuckled, turning to Jimin with a slight frown. "If I catch you glaring at me I'm going to pull you on land." He growled. Jimin grinned. "Really? I dare you to try." He smirked.

Yoongi sighed. "Listen up. I can clean all of this up and make the pool now, while you teach these three idiots merman stuff." He told Jungkook, who nodded. "Or I can take you all home and leave Jimin here and fix it later." Yoongi said.

"Let's do the first one." Jungkook smiled. Yoongi nodded and stood up. "I'll be on my way then. Have fun you all, I'll come back here when the passageway is done." He waved them a goodbye, before turning back to the house and almost kicking the shed door open.

Jin smiled looking at his amber tail. "It looks like gold!" He exclaimed. Taehyung smiled. "It looks good on you hyung!" Jungkook smiled, pecking his lips. "Let's go. There is a lot to learn about the sea life." He chuckled.

Yoongi sighed deeply, rushing a hand through his hair, which was glued onto his forehead by sweat. He had been working all day, and he wasn't getting any cooler by it.

His mind also wasn't in the right place. He had cleared the pool completely empty of water and had smashed part of the stone inside it to make the passageway. He had deeper the pool and expanded it and had to make a dirt staircase to even get out himself.

He was far from done.

Days had passed and Yoongi was currently exhausting his body. He had worked all night just to keep things going. He went to the store to get new tools as well as a pair of boots, because he was not going to get his slippers dirty.

Yoongi was finally working on the actual stream, digging almost everything out of the way for at least two humans to fit through. He tested it by laying down. He had regretted it because now his hair was covered in dirt.

He placed wooden planks to keep the dirt a bit in place before replacing it with a few bricks of stone. And so on continuing to the shore for the next two days. He had been working non-stop and his body was growing tired.

He smiled as he could hear the ocean waves crashing against the sand. He was almost there.
He almost yelled in victory when he finished everything at 2 AM in the morning.

He wondered if mermen slept in the water. If they would lay on rocks or on the bottom of the ocean or in caves. What would it be like? He wondered. He finally dug the last few bits of sand away, letting the cold seawater soak his clothes. With a deep sigh of relief, Yoongi let himself fall in the water, letting his body float over it to the expanded pool, which was almost a pond by the outside looks of it. But... cleaner and prettier.

He had places a few stone floors around it with a bit of some sort of sponge-like carpet, which felt nice underneath the feet. Small pearls he had taken from Jungkook's box with permission he had hidden in fake lily pads, which were glued onto the pair of ocean rocks that surrounded the pool. There were small lights in the pool which would light it up in a beautiful aquamarine blue at night.

He had worked a lot, and it had paid off. Min Yoongi needs perfection, and so he has gotten. He let the smell of the ocean water fill his head as the scent mixed with the lavender flowers around. It was a miracle.

Forcing himself to get up, Yoongi went back to the shore, to the half circled rock. He sat down, waiting for the mermen. He whined and simply laid down, closing his eyes and falling asleep.

A few hours later, Jimin was the first to go up. He told Jungkook he wanted to see if Yoongi was there yet. Jungkook had agreed.

Jimin gasped in awe as he saw the blonde man sleep. His body and clothes were soaked with water and his face was flushed red from all the work. His hands were covered in smudges of dirt and sand which covered his dirty clothes.

Jimin found it adorable. He smiled at the human as he carefully leaned up above the water, careful not to hurt his scales. He shook Yoongi slightly. "Wake up cutie." He giggled.

Yoongi groaned, shaking his head. Jimin smiled. "Come on, we're waiting for you." Yoongi shook his head again. Jimin pouted slightly. "Alright then." He mumbled.

He leaned up slightly more, pressing his lips against Yoongi's. Yoongi immediately opened his eyes widely, locked in Jimin's gaze.

He wanted to move. He wanted to pull away and scold the merman, but he couldn't. He seemed to be trapped in the gaze of the merman as they slowly parted. Yoongi blinked a few times.

Jimin slid back into the water, smiling at him. "There he is." Yoongi was speechless. He shook his head slightly before talking. "The... uhm... the passageway is finished." He said softly, brushing a hand through his wet hair.

Yoongi sat up, groaning and stretching his body. "Now I have the whole house for myself." He mumbled, smiling slightly. Jimin tilted his head. "Won't it get lonely?" He asked. Yoongi didn't reply.

Though he acted quite cold to the others, he loved to be praised and to be admired. To get affection from the others and get hugged every once in a while. He will miss it...

"I guess so." He replied. He sighed deeply, leaning against the rock. "I'm cold..." He murmured. "You're in the water just like my friends... I wonder how life is like down there." Yoongi said softly.

Jimin smiled. "You know I can show you." He smiled. Yoongi looked at him with half-lidded eyes, still tired as hell. "Really?" Though his tone spoke with excitement. Jimin nodded. "It requires a scale." He smiled.

Yoongi frowned. "Won't I turn then?" Jimin nodded again. "But you'll be able to live with us. And unlike me, you, Jin and Jungkook can still go out on land." Yoongi pouted slightly. "Why can't you? It doesn't make sense."

Jimin looked down at his tail. "I was born in a mer-family. We've always been underwater. Jungkook was born underwater, but got taught to breathe oxygen at a very young age. He can go years breathing it in and only a few hours of water. I can't get a day on land. It'll kill me. I've never been taught how to walk, I've never been taught how to act like humans... I'm just a merman. Nothing more. Nothing special." He said softly.

Yoongi sighed softly. He moved himself closer to the water, pulling his boots off. "Get aside. Make way for me." He mumbled. Jimin tilted his head, pulling his tail aside. "What are you-"

He was rudely cut off when Yoongi placed his lips on Jimin's own. The elder had taken Jimin's face and cupped it between his own hands to keep him in place. Jimin was baffled.

Did... Did Yoongi just kiss him?
Yoongi kissed him...
He KISSED him!

Jimin, as quick as he realized what was going on, kissed back, his hand reaching to touch Yoongi's. His body was warm and heated. Probably overworked.

Yoongi parted hesitantly, staring at Jimin's tail. "I really wish that you could go on land." He mumbled. "I'd have shown you everything. My house, the pools which we know, the roads. I'd have taken you out to dinner to let you taste human food and I'd tuck you in as sweet and gently as possible when you'd sleep in a human bed."

Jimin smiled at Yoongi's sweet words. "I'd take you to the mall and spend every penny I own to give you what you wanted. Anything you are curious about I'd tell you, anything that you want to happen I'd make it happen. I'd hug you every night on the couch as we'd watch movies or just sat there and talked. I'd cuddle you to sleep and sing you sweet dreams only to hear your beautiful voice call back to me."

A pearly tear slipped past Jimin's eyes onto his cheek. Yoongi caught it quickly. Smiling at it. Unlike Jungkook's very pastel red pearls, Jimin's were a very pastel purple.

"And I mean all of those words, Jimin." Yoongi said softly. Jimin wrapped his arms around Yoongi's neck, hugging him tightly. "I wish I could experience all those things. I really do..." He sniffled. "But I just can't." He said softly.

Yoongi nodded sadly, letting Jimin cry on his shoulder as he embraced him into a hug. "If you were human and I was a merman like you, I'd have fallen for you instantly, wanting to take you down into the unknown depths of the sea." He mumbled.

Jimin smiles. "What a compliment... I don't deserve them Yoongi." "You do." Yoongi said softly. "You're the only one who deserves them from me."

"Wow! And us?!" Jin crossed his arms. Jimin waved his arm at them. "Shoo! Go away! We're having a moment!" He whined. Jungkook chuckled. "I assume it's done?" He asked. Yoongi nodded. "It is."

Taehyung smiled. "You look like trash!" "And you look worse." Yoongi growled. "Just... go check it out. Let me have a moment." He sighed. Jin nodded, pulling Taehyung with him.

Jimin smiled, cherishing Yoongi's warm arms. "If only I was human..." He mumbled. "I'd protect you with my everything." Yoongi sighed.

"If you were a merman I'd show you the ocean..." Jimin said softly. "I'd show you everywhere where I've been and all of the sea critters I've befriended. I'd want you to dance with me in the streams, I'd sleep with you in the coral fields, I'd show you all the sunken ships I've seen and take rides on dolphins. I'd show you the underwater kingdoms and my birthplace."

Yoongi smiled slightly. "I'd love to see that..." He mumbled. Jimin sniffled. "You can. It's your choice..." Yoongi nodded. "I'm just not sure." He said. Jimin frowned sadly. "I understand it." He said softly. Yoongi shook his head. "I'm not sure what to do about the house. No one will live in it anymore." He smiled.

Jimin looked up at him. "What?" "I want to be with you Jimin. If you can't go up to land, I'm going into the water ." He said smiling. Jimin gasped, pushing Yoongi into the water and throwing his body on top of him. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Yoongi coughed, wiping his eyes and his hair from his face. "Ah... my eyes." He whined. Jimin pouted. "Sorry..." He smiled, quickly opening Jungkook's box. "Can you swallow this?" He asked, holding up a scale.

Yoongi smiled, nodding. He took the scale and swallowed it with just a little bit of trouble. Jimin smiled widely. "I love you Yoongi..." He mumbled. Yoongi pecked his lips, caressing the scales on Jimin's tail. He shivered of the hand, smiling slightly. "It feels unique..." Yoongi said smiling.

Jimin pulled Yoongi's shirt over his head, causing the elder to raise an eyebrow. "Why?" He asked. "It's dirty. And we don't wear cloth." Jimin chuckled. Yoongi simply smiled, hissing slightly after. "Ah... it stings..." He whined.

He pulled the top of his pants down slightly, staring in curiosity at the silver-grey scales. Jimin tilted his head, pulling his pants further down, causing Yoongi to abruptly pull back. "No, no, no!" He squealed.

Jimin pointed. "What are they for then?" He asked, pointing at Yoongi's pants. Yoongi bit his lip shyly. "They cover our... private parts." Yoongi said softly. "Really?" Jimin asked. "Yours are exposed like that?"

Yoongi nodded. "Aren't yours? I thought merman had none." Jimin giggled. "We do. It's covered by our scales." He smiled. Yoongi tilted his head. "Interesting..." He winced in pain, inhaling sharply.

He looked again, widening his eyes. "It's literally layering over my skin!" He exclaimed. Jimin pouted. "I can't see!" He whined. Yoongi sighed. "I'll show you once completely covered... okay? I don't feel comfortable with it." He said softly. Jimin nodded sadly. "Okay..."

Yoongi simply waited, laying in Jimin's lap. He found breathing and seeing underwater easier. His hair had been showing highlights of silver. "Is it done yet?" Jimin asked impatiently. Yoongi looked again. "Yeah... It feels so uncomfortable to even feel my legs." He whined.

He shivered slightly, pulling the uncomfortable fabric off his scales. He tilted his head. "It feels so weird." He mumbled. Jimin sighed deeply, bubbled popping underwater. "I wonder when your tail will be done... I want to see your fin." He whined.

Yoongi shrugged. "I'm not good at waiting." Jimin pouted. "What if you ate another scale?" "I think I'd choke." Yoongi chuckled. Jimin pecked his lips. "Sorry."

After a few more minutes, Yoongi winced in pain. He abruptly looked at his feet, which had disappeared into a fin. Jimin smiled widely. "Finally!" He yelled. "Come on! Let's go!"

Yoongi smiled and chuckled, following Jimin towards his own made passageway. The feeling of the water moving against his scales gave him a comforting feeling. It felt better than land for his feeling.

He smiled when he saw Jin chasing Jungkook around. Thank god he expanded the pond. "Guys!" He yelled. Taehyung looked up, gasping loudly. "Hyung! Hyung! Hyung! Hyung!-" "I see him Tae." Jin chuckled.

"Changed your mind?" Jungkook asked smiling. Yoongi nodded. "A few words do wonders." He chuckled. Jungkook pecked Jin's lips. "I know."

Yoongi smiled. "It feels better than land." He said softly. "It feels comfortable..." Jimin smiled widely. "Now I can show you my birthplace!"

Jungkook smiled. "Let's just all go! It's been a while since you brought me to the mooncave." He smiled. Jimin smiled widely. "Come on, it's gonna be a long swim."

The End

I'm currently working on another short, but I wanted to finish this one first. This is, besides my make up chapter, the longest chapter I made with 6182 words.

I hope you enjoyed and stay tuned.
