Prologue II
Prologue II
"He's really sort of the Devil. He's completely emotionally detached. He has no empathy. You find that in psychopaths. It's about power with Voldemort. It's an aphrodisiac for him. Power makes him feel alive."
-Ralph Fiennes
Gently I brought my head up to the familiar flames that licked through the floors of the wondrous world I lived in. I sighed before turning towards Lilith. She smiled at me, the red liquid in the glass she held smelling distinctively of grapes.
Did you think I would say blood? Because she has consumed that before.
Sighing, I turned my head towards Lucifer. He smiled at me, and I felt the familiar feeling spread through my chest. I would say it was happiness, but I was unsure what happiness was myself. I had no feelings. Empathy was not something I tried to have.
Xezal looked at me. "Ezekiel, what are you thinking about?"
I sighed at the celestial name. "I'm thinking of the many different ways we will torture the ones above." I answered, though I was unsure of my answer myself.
My wounds inflicted upon me by the strange creature still had yet to heal completely. Honestly, I was shocked he had been able to harm me. The sword I understood, but the claws? Completely at a lost.
I attempted to move the arm he had injured, but it still hurt, and the pain spread through my torso, causing me to hiss. Lilith rolled her eyes. "Idiot." Xezal said, drinking the Devil's Water he had in the glass in front of him.
Devil's Water is commonly known to humans as alcohol. We just use it when drinking clearer alcohol. At the moment, Xezal was drinking un-aged Tequila, though there was some bottles of more aged Tequila somewhere in the mansion.
Lucifer sighed. "Our guests should be here shortly, give them time."
As if on cue, the door swung open, revealing the two people we were expecting.
The first was a man. His skin was lightly tanned, but that was due to the many years he had spent trapped in the dark, void of sunlight to nourish his skin. He had a light beard that looked more like dark stubble that went well with his hair style. His hair being the darker brown that it was, didn't stand out too much in the dark interior design. His eyes had almost an auburn look to them, but at the same time looked amber-like. His fringe was gelled up in almost a little swirl that then folded back onto his head. He wore a business suit with a dark tie and dress shoes.
The second was a female. Her ski was gorgeously tanned, unlike her friend. Her hair was a golden blonde, but darkened at the roots, suggesting she may not have been a natural blonde. Her eyes were a deep blue and were surrounded by black makeup as to make them seem larger and to draw more attention to them. Her lipstick was a dark red that went well with the fuchsia dress she wore. It showed her cleavage off and was tight fitting, though showed off her curves well. It ended at mid-thigh, though it could easily have ridden up more had she not pulled it down to reveal more cleavage.
"Saturn, Pandora, welcome." Lucifer said, raising his drink.
I frowned at the pair. Saturn, the Roman king of the titans who ate his own children in fear of them being more powerful than him, and Pandora, the woman who allowed evil to enter the world according to Greek/Roman myth. Not that I was complaining, both let evil into the world with their actions.
Pandora smiled sweetly at Lucifer, her dark eyes swimming with an unreadable emotion. "Lucifer, how good it is to see you alive and well!" She said, her voice showing no hidden message.
Saturn nodded. "It has been boring in your absence, old friend."
Lucifer nodded, smiling at the both of them. I exhaled slowly, as to not catch their attentions. I would prefer to not have my injuries brought up in conversation again, but that was most likely to happen, seeing Pandora was a very chatty person.
As soon as I thought that, Pandora saw my injuries. "Ezey! What happened?" She asked, her voice filled with concern.
I smiled to myself at the nickname. "Hell was invaded, remember." Xezal said, boredom evident in his tone.
Lilith rolled her eyes. "Xezal, please refrain from speaking of those ratty children."
Something she said seemed to pique Saturn's interest, as he looked up. "Children? Mere children attacked Hell and injured Ezekiel this badly?"
I clenched my jaw. This is exactly why I didn't want to attend this meeting.
"No, they were the children of the prophecy." Xezal said, the boredom gone from his voice.
Pandora and Saturn exchanged looks. "The prophecy?"
"No, the other one." Lucifer said, amusement lacing his tone.
Lilith frowned. "There's another prophecy?"
I growled. "You're an idiot, Lilith. Lucifer is joking."
She frowned. "Oh."
Lucifer gestured to me. "Calm yourself, Ezekiel."
I sighed and turned my head away, not able to deal with their crap anymore.
Honestly, they all annoyed me to the brink of death, but I had to live with them. After all, I was no longer a celestial being, and I believed in the principals praised by Hell's creatures. I just didn't particularly care for the people surrounding the leader and sometimes the leader himself.
As I sat there, I grew bored so I pulled out the book I kept in my pocket and began to absentmindedly doodle and write.
After all, I did want to document my journey, correct?
