Chapter VII

"Secrets and lies kill relationships. No matter how careful you are, you will get caught."

-Unknown

Andrea stared at her hands. They were smooth, which told her just how much she didn't work with them. But she could care less, she wasn't much of a creative person, nor did she really want to learn how to fight. But maybe she'd have to now.

She looked up at the door. Caleb, Darrin, Garroth, and Timothy had raced off to the hospital to pick up someone. They didn't specify who, however.

The seat next to her dipped slightly and she looked to see Aristide smiling sweetly at her. She gave him a soft grin and looked back down at her hands. As she began to drift further into her consciousness, she felt a weight appear on her shoulder.

"Are you okay, Andrea?" Aristide whispered, gently squeezing her shoulder.

"I- I don't know...I mean, everything just feels...empty."

Aristide nodded. "It's okay. Besides, your brother will be back soon, and maybe the person they are picking up will be amazing!"

Andrea sighed. "I hope so,"

"I know so." Aristide said, smiling at her.

The sound of a car rolling up the pathway was heard. Andrea slowly stood up before walking towards a window. She glanced out and saw Garroth's car. Garroth got out of the car and walked around, opening a door. Timothy slid out, wincing slightly as he walked. Behind him came a young woman. She was wrapped in a blanket, and said something to him, causing Garroth to laugh as he gently patted her back. Caleb came from the passenger's seat, and Darrin slipped out from behind the girl. He wrapped an arm around her and led her towards the house.

Andrea glanced at the others in the room. Just as Fai was about to say something, the door opened.

The girl walked in first, with Darrin still holding tightly into her. She glared at him. "I can do this myself, Darrin."

"But you just woke from a coma, Megan. Let me help you." He retorted, tightening his grip slightly.

The girl, or Megan, stuck her tongue it at him before noticing Andrea and the others standing there. She shuffled nervously as the other guys came in. "H-hello there."

Estal waved. "Hello. Who are you?"

Darrin clasped her shoulder. "This is my cousin, Megan. She just woke up from a coma, so I'd recommend giving her some space."

Megan gave a soft smile. "It's nice to meet you."

Estal blinked at her. "Is she a Monster Hunter too, then?"

Darrin crossed his arms. "Yes. Is that a problem?"

Estal didn't respond. He did, however, tap his cane in what seemed like slight annoyance. Megan shuffled slightly before looking back behind him, meeting Andrea's eyes.

Andrea smiled. "Hello there."

"Hey, what's your name?"

"Andrea."

Megan's eyes widened slightly. "Andrea, as in Andrea Silver?"

"Yep."

"So you're Caleb's little sister..."

Andrea chuckled lightly. "That would be me, yes. I assume he told you about me?"

Megan nodded. "He always said he didn't want you involved in this world, but, here you are."

"I didn't have much choice. I was kidnapped by demons."

"That was you?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm sorry, that must've sucked." Megan said, giving Andrea a reassuring smile.

Andrea said nothing as she looked down. Someone cleared their throat. Andrea looked towards it and saw Garroth fixing his shirt. "Anyways, I think it best we get you a room. You need to rest."

Megan rolled her eyes. "I'm fine, Garroth. See?" She said, walking out of her cousins grip. As soon as she did, her legs shook slightly before she hit the ground.

Darrin raced to his cousin, gently helping her back up. Garroth crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow. "You were saying?"

Megan sighed as the guys held her up. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Andrea heard Salvin chuckle slightly before turning back towards the kitchen. "I should finish dinner. It'll be delicious. Pot roast!" He hummed the last sentence, stirring the air with his index finger.

Darrin and Garroth helped Megan upstairs, leaving everyone else downstairs. Everyone glanced at each other. A few moments passed before everyone left, except for Caleb, Timothy, and Andrea.

Caleb smiled at his little sister. "How are you doing, kid?"

Andrea harrumphed. "You know I don't like that name, Caleb."

"I know. I just like to see you angry. It's hilarious to a brother."

She shook her head. "You're the worst."

"I believe you mean best, kiddo."

"Caleb-!"

Caleb laughed before walking upstairs to join his comrades, leaving Andrea alone with Timothy.

She looked at him. His features looked sunken, less happy. As if everything was crashing around him. Not that it wasn't. His eyes were dark, and she could tell he had been crying from the redness still present. His hands were shoved into his coats pockets, and his head bowed. His dark hair fell loosely around his eyes, casting dark shadows over his face. Andrea sighed. "Tim-"

Timothy said nothing as he stood up. He looked up at her, plastering a huge grin on his face. "Yes, Andrea?" He asked cheerfully.

His entire look seemed to change. There was light on his face now, and his hair seemed more curly and didn't reach his eyes. His smile was wide and bright. The only thing that didn't match was his eyes. Sadness still lingered, unchanged. Andrea sighed, looking at him sadly. "You don't have to pretend, Timothy. You can be sad."

Timothy blinked, his smile fading. "Who says I'm pretending?"

"I do. You look like an absolute wreck." Andrea said.

Timothy scoffed, looking down at his feet. Andrea sighed. "Look, Timothy. I don't know what you're going through, and I probably will never understand the absolute anguish you must have felt throughout your life. I've been through hell too, maybe not as bad as yours, but hell all the same. I can do my best to understand you, if you'd like to talk to me. But you have to be willing to talk. I can't read your mind, unlike Caleb, so-"

"Garroth. He's the one who can read minds."

"Yes, well anyways. I can not read minds like Garroth, so I cannot see what is wrong with you. I can, however, help you through it if need be. If you feel like talking to me, then know that I will be there for you. If you need someone to talk to, then you know where to find me."

Timothy stared at her blankly, his eyes wide. Andrea gave him a week smile before a vibrating was heard. She took her phone out.

"I- I have to go. It's time to see Mitchel." She whispered, turning the alarm off. As Andrea walked towards the front door, she stopped by Timothy. "Remember, I'm here to talk to."

Timothy said nothing as she walked towards the door.

Garroth looked down at Megan as Darrin helped her into the bed.

It was strange seeing her moving and walking around. He was used to seeing her small and fragile form laying lifeless against white sheets. It was odd, and almost unnerving.

Not that he was not happy. He was extremely happy to see her alive. It was a dream of his for years to see her walking once more.

But after two years of not hearing her voice or seeing her movement was unsettling.

Especially what happened after she stopped moving.

A part of Garroth would always resent his comrades for that. To blame Timothy over it was a horrible, inhumane thing to do. Not that they were human, but they acted more human than their angelic ancestors. After all, most angels were able to handle their emotions, depending on their wing color and status in heaven.

The hierarchy of Angels was something Garroth had always been interested in. He had been tempted to ask Mitchel about it, but he had been too nervous to. What if it had given away anything? If Mitchel was high enough on the hierarchy he would immediately try to strike him down. Angels are very protective, so the fear of death was always a thought in the back of you mind if you were to confront one.

Garroth shook his head. He had drifted, once again. He could never keep a straight thought. He looked up again and saw Darrin smooth the blanket over his cousin. Darrin gently bent down and kissed her forehead. "Get some rest, Megan."

"I got plenty of rest-"

"Get some more then."

Megan pouted slightly, but didn't move. She sighed once before rolling onto her side, closing her eyes. Darrin stepped away and walked towards Garroth. Darrin motioned him out, and he followed.

The two stood out in the hallway, where Caleb was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed and eyes closed. Darrin shut the door. It grew silent as they looked at one another.

Garroth closed his eyes, seeing the layout of the house in his mind. It was all black, and outlined in purple. He moved down the staircase, seeming to race through it. He was looking for everyone. Andrea was gone, and Timothy stood by the front door. The rest of the Daevas were in the kitchen, along with Aristide, who was staring at Rayna. Estal was in the library, staring at a bookshelf. Fai was in the garden, staring at a bush covered in brilliant flowers. He couldn't tell the color of them. Garroth's eyes snapped open and he looked towards the others. "We are safe to talk here."

Caleb nodded, relaxing only slightly. "So then," Darrin muttered, "what are we going to do about this?"

"Well, Lucifer is obviously alive. We got that much by Fenrir's awakening. Perhaps this is why he is within Tim?" Caleb suggested, his blue eyes searching the other two's faces.

Darrin scoffed. "As if. We all know that apocalyptic deity would love nothing more than to see the downfall of man. Lucifer would be the perfect way to not get his hands dirty."

Garroth nodded. "It's a genuine thought, but based on when he last came, he helped bring about the World Wars. Especially the second. He may have been inside one of the good guys, but we don't know if he stayed in there for the whole time. He's an oddity, something we can't track or predict."

Caleb sighed. "You're right. I should've thought about that aspect."

Darrin pinched the bridge of his nose. He let it a low growl. "This is just what we need right now. Lucifer has risen, Fenrir has awoken, and Megan is awake as well."

"She chose a pretty bad time to get up, huh?" Garroth joked, crossing his arms.

The two sighed. Garroth looked down. "But in all seriousness, we do have to deal with Fenrir. We have to figure out a way to suppress him."

"The next stage is him talking to Tim. Once that happens, we can't hide him away anymore." Caleb sighed, tapping his fingers against his arm.

Darrin looked up. "At least we know that isn't the case yet."

****

I stood by the door, staring at Andrea's retreating figure.

"She's a pretty girl, isn't she?" Fenrir purred in my mind.

"And you're a wolf." I muttered, walking into a bathroom.

I could feel Fenrir rolling his eyes. "I have taken a liking to many humans, you know. If I wasn't cursed to be trapped in beings, then I bet I'd have millions of wives!"

"Who would marry a wolf? I highly doubt that many people are into bestiality." I muttered, glancing at myself in the mirror.

Fenrir scoffed. "I have many forms, Timothy. I have a human form you know."

"I bet you are pushing a thousand or so on it, right?" I muttered again, my eyes staring at the door. What if someone heard me?

"Actually, I look like I'm fifteen." He replied smugly.

I let out a short laugh. "No self-respecting woman who's over twenty would date a fifteen year old, much less marry a guy who looked fifteen. Unless they were super hot."

"Maybe I am super hot, you ever thought about that?"

"Nope,"

"I hate you."

"The feeling is mutual." I grumbled as I walked towards the door. "Now shut up and don't talk, okay? I'd rather not have your voice bouncing around in here."

"Fine, whatever you say, Timmy."

"Don't call me-!"

"Shhh, I'm going to sleep."

I let out a growl before walking out.

What are they gonna do?

What do you think of Fenrir? Of Megan?

That's it for now. See y'all later!
