Chapter II
Chapter II
"Being a new character is like going to a new school. You have to maintain your own anatomy and personality."
-Mia Maestro
Andrea woke up in her bed the following day. She had no memory of getting into it, but that might be because of the fact that she was in a daze, or even her brother had brought her to bed. She rolled out of bed and managed to crawl to the bathroom. She turned on the shower and got in, loving how the heat of the water washed over her body.
Once she got out, she wrapped the old towel around her body and wrapped another around her head to help dry her hair off and to keep it from dripping down her back. When she got back into her room, she realized the window was open, in which she immediately shut, worried someone had seen her.
Once she convinced herself that was not the case, she dried her body off and pulled on her nude bra with her white cotton underwear. She then reached for her jean shorts but decided against it. It had been freezing outside last night. Sighing, she grabbed her worn out pair of jeans. She needed to get new ones, these ones had already been through a whole winter. She then reached for her 'Led Zeppelin' shirt. It was long sleeved, but she opted to roll them up to her forearm.
She let her hair dry out naturally and then pulled a brush through it. After that, she gently curled a curler through it. She then added some make-up to her appearance. Then, she walked downstairs to see her brother munching down on some cereal and her parents having already left for work.
As she ate, Giselle called and wished her good luck as she waited for school to start. After finishing eating, she grabbed her money for school and her bag. She waited by the door for Caleb, and when he finally came, she did a once-over on his outfit.
A gray sweatshirt with blue jeans and his worn out converse. His hair wasn't styled like it usually was and he clearly didn't want to go today or he'd have made some sort of attempt to make himself look presentable. She sighed but opened the door all the same, shivering as the fall air hit her.
Usually she'd have still been wearing her jean shorts and her tank top with her sandals and walking out in the heat, trying not to get sunburned. Now, however, she was considering pulling down her sleeves to warm herself up. As Caleb and her walked to school side-by-side, she couldn't help but notice every person they passed by would either stare at them curiously, or they'd give them a death glare. If looks could kill, both Andrea and Caleb would've died about twenty times already.
When they got to school, Andrea couldn't help but admire it. It looked to have about three stories, just by judging its height and the three rows of windows. The entrance was grand, with stairs leading up to it and wooden double doors, stain glass framing it. It was a beige color, and a few of the windows on the bottom were stained glass. Rose bushes framed the school, looking to be freshly trimmed. Students surrounded the school, all talking in their respective groups. Andrea hugged her arms closing to her chest, her nerves starting to get the best of her. Caleb noticed this and gently wrapped an arm around her, hugging her close to him. Andrea allowed herself to sink into his side, trying to calm down.
Originally she had been fine with going to school, but now she was extremely nervous. Combined with the fact that it was Monday and she had gotten about six hours of sleep last night, plus the odd antics of the townsfolk so far, and all the stares they had been getting, how could anyone not be nervous? She exhaled as she tried to calm herself down. However, someone appeared behind her. "Are you the new girl they spoke so much about?"
Andrea whipped around to see a handsome man staring back at her. He had dark hazel eyes underneath his thick eyebrows. His black hair looked like it had been attempted to be fixed, but it still looked like he had just rolled out of bed. He had stubble all along his jaw, chin, right beneath his cheekbone, and even above his mouth. His skin was tanned and he was clearly muscular. He wore a gray long sleeved shirt with dark jeans. She glanced at his shoes and noticed the gray vans that adorned them. Brand new, definitely. Suddenly, a deep chuckle sounded from the man in front of her. "Are you checking me out, sweetie?
"I, uh-"
"No, she's simply examining you, judging your personality." Caleb said, pulling on the strap of his back pack.
The man smirked. "Whatever you say."
"My name is Andrea." She murmured, examining the ground closely.
"Jacob Smoke, pleasure." He said, picking up her right hand and kissing her knuckles lightly.
Andrea's face turned bright red as she stood there, her hand still in his. Caleb gritted his teeth, gently pulling her hand out of his. "Alright sis, we'd best get checked in." He said, pulling her off.
Jacob stuck out his bottom lip. "Oh come now, we were simply getting well acquainted with one another."
Caleb growled lowly, and then pulled her to the front doors, pushing through the crowds of people as Andrea tried to make him slow down. Whomever they bumped into seemed to hiss, growl, or even spit at them. Very few barked out sharp cries of annoyance or even simply glared at them. Andrea felt her stomach twist within her and she felt like she was never going to survive in a school like this one.

The secretary was very nice. She smiled at them and handed them their passes, not even bothering to question what was going on with the fuming Caleb and the pale Andrea. She showed Caleb where his first period was but told Andrea to wait in the office. Andrea was confused, but told her brother to meet someplace during lunch. He gave her an odd look and told her that they didn't have the same lunch, which only made her more upset.
Andrea had been sitting in the office for over five minutes now. Students passing by gave her odd looks- ranging from confused to angry- but never once tried to make conversation. The secretary did, but it was simply small talk, nothing Andrea wanted to participate actively in. Suddenly, the boy Andrea had seen last night walked into the office. "Hey, Ms. Sinclair."
The secretary- or Ms. Sinclair- smiled at him. "Mitchel! How lovely to see you!"
"It's nice to see you too," he said, not as enthusiastically as Ms. Sinclair wanted him to, seeing as how her lips pursed.
She leaned in towards him and they whispered discreetly. Andrea was straining to hear them, but she couldn't. Suddenly, Mitchel's head snapped to meet her eyes, and she immediately felt self-conscious. She looked away, tugging at the hem of her Led Zeppelin shirt.
"Hey, my name is Mitchel McCloud." Mitchel said, holding his hand out to her.
"I'm Andrea Silver." She said, barely over a whisper.
Mitchel gave her a sweet smile. "Are you alright?"
Andrea felt her face heat up. "Just first day jitters." She breathed out, perspiration starting to form on her forehead.
Mitchel bent down to meet her eyes. She glanced up to look at those blue eyes that stared back at her. They were guarded, but she still found them to be full of emotion. Welcoming, definitely. She cocked her head to the side as she attempted to dig deeper, but then she realized he was looking at her with concern. "Can you hear me?"
"S-sorry, must have zoned out."
Mitchel nodded as he gently grabbed her hand and guided her up. "Let's head to first hour, alright?"
Andrea looked at him. "How do you-"
"My father had us placed in the same classes." He murmured.
"Your father?"
"The principal." Mitchel said, looking away from her as he dropped her hand.
Andrea nodded, not pushing him anymore, seeing that it seemed like a sore topic. Mitchel motioned for her to follow and she did as he led her to their first hour class: gym.
The whole time Mitchel was rambling on and on about the history of the school, but Andrea was too busy noticing the stares and the whispers people kept giving her. She shrunk into herself and eventually found herself looking for the nearest bathroom. When she found one, she broke off from Mitchel who immediately chased after her, but she got into the bathroom just in time.
She hurried into one of the stalls and shut it, sitting on the toilet seat, tears pricking her vision. She pulled out her phone and looked for Giselle's contact. If she remembered correctly, it was passing periods about now. She hoped she was right.
After pressing call, she held it up to her ear. It rang twice before Giselle picked up. "Andrea, why are you calling me?"
"I can't do this Giselle." She said, the lump in her throat making it seem more like a sob.
"Oh my lord, you sound terrible." Giselle said.
Andrea could hear muffled voices on Giselle's line. "No, you can't talk to her. She called me, not you Nash." Giselle said.
"Is everyone else there?" Andrea said, sniffing.
There was silence on the other end. Suddenly, Nash's voice cam on. "Hey, hey, Andrea? Are you alright?"
Andrea felt a tear roll down her cheek. "Nash, I-" she tried to say, but broke into tears.
"No, no, this is your job, Liam." Nash said as he pulled the phone away from his ear. Suddenly, Liam's voice came on from the other end.
"Andrea? It's okay, stop crying..."
Andrea sniffed and wiped her nose. "Right, right, s-sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry about, just try to calm down."
"Okay, Liam."
"Andrea, have I ever told you about the time in fifth grade when you pushed Nash off the monkey bars because he was a fat kid?"
Andrea could hear a muffled 'Hey!' and laughter, which caused her to giggle. "I remember that day." She said, wiping the tears off her face.
"Good. Always remember that day whenever you feel like you are about to break down, alright?"
"Of course, I will."
She could almost see Liam beaming on the other end. "Alright, by Andrea. See you later."
Andrea waited to see if the call ended. Sure enough, Liam hung up. Andrea got out of the stall and went to see the damage her tears had done. Thankfully she forgot to put mascara on, and the foundation on her face was water-proof. She dried her cheeks off before walking out to see Mitchel talking to some girls, pointing to the bathroom door. She walked over to him and tapped his shoulder. He whipped around, and when he saw her, a panicked looked set in. "What were you doing?"
"Sorry, I just-"
He suddenly bent down to be eye level with her. "Have you been crying?"
Her face heated up. "N-no, I hav-haven't." She said, looking down.
Mitchel sighed before putting a hand on her shoulder. "Come one, let's get to gym class, alright?"
Andrea nodded before following her to her least favorite class.

Hey there, friends! It's me again, (who else would it be?) with yet another chapter of this edited version of Myth High! What do you think of the new actor who plays Jacob? Tyler Hoechlin fits him better then Liam Hemsworth in my opinion.
Anyhow, yesterday I had finals and I managed to type up the first chapter (I'm one of those people who have like, nine chapters typed up so I can get lazy) so I hope its okay. Now I only have six hours of testing before I graduate to high school! God, am I nervous.
Anyways, I am listening to Spotify, and Y.M.C.A. just came on, and I'm dancing and singing while I type this, and I am so glad my door is shut, or my parents would probably think I am insane.
(I was about to ask how old you all are, but then i realized how creepy, stalker-y, and pedophile-y that seemed. Ah well, sorry 'bout that!)
Adios, my friends!
