Chapter I
Chapter I
"It is what I was born for- to look, to listen, to lose myself in this soft world- to instruct myself, over and over..."
-Mary Oliver
Sunday was the worst day of Andrea's life. She had probably cried off about five percent of her body weight that day.
She hugged Giselle, her best friend in the whole wide world and promised she'd call, text, and Skype whenever things got terrible. She promised Nash the same thing, and she gave him a kiss on the cheek as a good by instead of a hug. Drake told her that he'd dedicate the book he was planning on writing to her, and she smiled and kissed him in the cheek too, though he had to pick her up due to his massive size. And then lastly, Liam.
He didn't say much, but when she kissed his cheek, she heard his breath hitch. She didn't know if it was because of her or because of the fact that he was on the verge of tears.
Caleb was saying goodbye to his friends in high school and even kissed the girl he had been crushing on since seventh grade. She kissed him back and they promised to stay in touch. Perhaps her brother had gotten a long distance relationship- something Andrea wished she could have with Liam- and she hoped it would work out.
The car ride to the airport was silent and melancholy. Caleb and Andrea both agreed on the silent treatment for their parents, and they didn't push them.
Getting onto the plane was tedious. Andrea almost decided to make a break for it, but she knew she wouldn't make it far. After boarding the plane, they had a four hour flight (thanks to Southwest) that Andrea slept through. She was only awake for about twenty minutes- enough to use the bathroom and down a whole can of soda.
When they got to Seattle, they hopped on a taxi that drove them to their house. Their stuff had already arrive- thanks to having it sent out Saturday night- and they began unpacking.
By four they ordered pizza and took a break. After the quick meal, they got back to work, and within the hour, they had a livable place.
Andrea was in her room when she got a Skype request from Giselle. She happily answered it and soon Giselle's face appeared.
"Oh thank God, I've been trying to get a hold of you for like, ten hours!"
"We just finished unpacking the necessities, sorry." Andrea said.
"Is that Andrea?" Nash called.
Giselle rolled her eyes. "No, it is Chris Hemsworth!"
"Tell him I said hi!" Nash called.
Giselle sighed as Nash came up. "Hey there, Andy!"
Andrea frowned. "I'm not a boy, Nash."
"So? A guy can't give a girl a pet name?"
"Not that nickname."
Nash sighed before looking at the ceiling and stroking his chin. "I wonder what it would be then..."
Suddenly, Drake and Liam appeared. "Hey! How's it going so far?" Drake asked as he pulled out his journal and started writing something.
"It is going alright." Andrea said, sighing.
Liam frowned. Was that concern in his eyes? No matter what it was, it made Andrea's cheeks flush a bright pink. She looked out the window of her second story bedroom and saw a group of teenagers- probably delinquents- walking down the street.
Once of them looked up at her window, in which she immediately got up and snapped her blinds closed. When she got back to her computer, they were all staring at her. "Why'd you do that?" Nash asked, popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth.
Giselle turned to him. "Where did you get that?"
"Your secret stash, why?"
Giselle flung a few curse words his way before hitting him on his back, telling him to 'spit it out'. Liam and Drake were both laughing, which caused Andrea to giggle as well. She sighed before the sound of the doorbell sounded through the house.
The whole ordeal in Texas paused as they turned to look at Andrea. She sighed, picking up the laptop and carrying it carefully downstairs. She was the only one home- her parents checking out their work place and her brother going to go get coffee because he wanted to have a 'social life'- so she had to answer it.
She set the laptop down and told them to make the room seem dark so it looked like a dark screen. If she was going to be kidnapped, she wanted some people to know what her kidnapper looked like. Once they did as she asked, she opened the door.
Standing there was a teenager. He had blonde hair and bright blue eyes that stood out against the lighter color of his hair and skin. His hair was swept up, completely exposing his forehead. He was staring at her in his black jacket and long jeans. He was handsome, she'd admit that, but no one compared to Liam.
Standing next to him was a girl that looked very similar to him. Her hair was a darker blonde, however, and had dark hair underneath it. Her skin tone was akin to his and her eyes seemed to be mixed with a gray color but were still very much blue. She wore a flower cardigan that reached her elbows with a white tank top underneath. She wore black leggings and light brown ankle boots with a heel about two inches off the ground.
"Yes?" Andrea asked.
"We just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood!" The girl chimed.
"Yes, we did." The boy said though he sounded bored.
"Well, my name is Andrea. Who might you be?"
"My name is Fai and this is Estal!" The girl said, putting her left hand on Estal's left bicep and her right on his left bicep and yanking him towards her as she held up her right leg. Estal grunted as he stumbled, clearly not having expected that.
"Well, it was very nice to meet you." Andrea said.
Fai nodded. "Are you in high school?"
"Junior." Andrea said.
"So are we!" Fai exclaimed as she pulled Estal again. He groaned this time, shoving her off of him.
"Please, Fai, stop with that."
Fai grumbled something under her breath, but nodded. "Alright Estal."
Andrea glanced at the computer screen and saw the faint outline of Giselle's face, and then turned back to Estal and Fai, who were currently having a staring contest with each other.
"Is that all you needed?" Andrea asked as she prepared to shut the door.
"Yes," Fai said.
Andrea nodded as she shut the door. She sighed in relief and then turned to the laptop.
"Your neighbors are crazy." Nash said, his eyes wide. "Yet, incredibly hot."
Giselle grumbled something incoherent. Drake patted her back while Liam kept his attention fixated on Andrea who was blushing like crazy.
The doorbell rang again. Andrea's head snapped to it, and she sighed. She walked over and opened it. Standing there was a boy with black hair, tan skin, and blue eyes. He had on a white button down dress shirt with black trousers and black dress shoes. He was straightening his black tie he wore when she opened the door. He looked up, scanning her face. He was attractive in a smart, nerd way. Andrea was more into the boys like Liam: good, sweet, and kind. Ones who'd do anything for you.
"Yes?" Andrea asked.
The boy said nothing as he handed her a stack of papers. "Thanks?" Andrea said, not knowing what to do with them.
"It's your school papers." He said.
Andrea nodded, thanking him once more. He nodded and then left, leaving Andrea to shut the door.
She turned to her friends who had just lit up the room once more. Giselle chuckled. "Both of those boys were pretty cute."
Nash cast a sad look at her before fixing his expression back into the usual grin.
Andrea smiled at them before they chatted for another forty minutes. Eventually, her parents came home and she retreated to her room, not wanting to be bothered by them. They didn't push her, thankfully. As she lay in her bed talking to them, she began to feel even more home sick. Why did her parents have to get new jobs? Why did life have to do this to her? Did the world hate her?
That was probably the case. Sighing, she shut the laptop after her friends began to fall asleep. It was about eleven thirty at night here while it was past twelve there. She stripped off her clothes and pulled on her pajamas; a white tank top with black shorts.
As she laid in bed, she couldn't help but hear noises coming from outside. She mumbled some choice words under her breath before getting up and looking outside.
Crowds of people were walking down the street. She watched as people spanning from what looked like a few months to at least eighty made their way down the street. Perhaps this was some sort of tradition. She hurried downstairs, then realized her clothing choices. Most people were dressed to impress, while she looked like she had just rolled out of some cliché out of a romance book.
She opened the door anyway and noticed a group of teenagers walking down the street.
She recognized Fai and Estal and the boy who had dropped of the papers. Next to the boy who had dropped off the papers was a boy with slightly curled blonde hair peaking outside of his teal colored beanie. He wore what looked like a jean button down, but she knew it probably was more of a fabric meant to look like the jean materials. His skin was tanned, but lighter then Liam's. He turned his head when he felt her eyes on him, and she saw the most beautiful blue eyes on the planet staring back at her. She hugged the door frame more, her face heating up to unimaginable temperatures. He gave her a shy smiled before turning away, which only made her turn redder.
She didn't take any more notice of the other teens as she was too embarrassed. She slammed the door shut and peaked out the blinds by the door to see the group- and the boy- staring at the door, shocked it had slammed shut. Her breath was ragged as she tried to make sense of what just happened.
She didn't think much longer because her phone began to ring in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw Liam's face on the screen. She smiled and answered, completely forgetting about the boy.

Mitchel sat in the town hall, though he wasn't paying attention to the lecture the Mayor was giving about the Human Family. His mind kept going back to the girl.
Her hair was tangled, so it was clear she had just gotten out of bed. Her brown eyes sparkled under the porch light, and he could feel his breath hitch in his throat as he looked at her. She was wearing short black shorts that hugged her figure and stopped a little above mid-thigh. She had on a tank top as well that hugged her figure perfectly. He could see the strap slipping, and if it slipped a little bit more...
He chastised himself. He must not be thinking such nasty thoughts about Andrea.
Aristide glanced at him. "Still thinking about Andrea?"
"Why did you not tell me about how beautiful she was?"
His friend's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his skull. "E-excuse me?"
"Yes, you heard me. Why didn't you tell me she was that beautiful?"
"I thought you shunned humans because your father remarried to one."
Mitchel felt the familiar sour taste in his mouth as he thought of Victoria. Immediately his thoughts for Andrea vanished. He couldn't become his father who obsessed over a human; it wasn't in their nature.
"You're right as always, Aristide. I shouldn't get too attached to someone who probably won't last that long."
"The problems of being an Angel, huh?"
"Says Frankenstein's son."
Aristide laughed as he pulled one of his sleeves up, revealing the stitches that circled around his forearm. "Yeah, yeah. You're just jealous that I can live forever."
"You have to electrocute yourself for a full day once a month just to be able to move, I'm not that jealous."
Aristide rolled his eyes and pulled the sleeve back down before fixing his attention back onto the Mayor.
The Mayor stood all tall-and-mighty on his pedestal as he addressed the issues, saying it was vital for the town to keep its secret. He was a short man; no more than four feet to his name. That was natural for dwarves though. He was bald and had a black beard that sopped right as it connected to his neck. His eyes were the same color as gravel; gray with a hint of light brown within it. He wore his navy pantsuit with a red tie tucked into his over coat. His black dressed shoes were shined to perfection, and he was currently babbling about the high schoolers duty now. They had to refrain from inflicting damage in their 'supernatural state' to both students and to one another. It'd be bad if one of them saw another student clawing out another's lungs.
Once the meeting concluded, Mitchel and Aristide hurried out, not bothering to speak with anyone else. It had been a forty-five minute sit down filled with things Mitchel already knew. as they wandered down the street again, he looked at her house.
One window was illuminated. It was on the second floor, and the blinds were cracked open enough so he could see her face as she stared out the window. She had dark circles forming under her eyes, and she had her head resting on the window. Mitchel walked over and carefully scaled the building. He carefully looked inside and saw her eyes closed as she slept with her head against the window. He saw a bit of drool slipping out of the corner of her mouth. Had she been waiting to see them?
He sighed before letting his wings pull out as he gently let himself fall to the ground. As soon as he touched the ground, his wings pulled back into his back. He walked over to the door and carefully opened it. He didn't pay heed to Aristide's comments on how much of an idiot he was. He carefully sneaked upstairs to her room. When he got into it, he carefully picked her up bridal style and laid her on her bed, moving her laptop off of it as he set her down gently. He pulled the duvet over her and made sure she looked comfy. As soon as he did that, she turned onto her side and hugged the covers to her chest.
He found himself staring at her for a while. Before he lost himself in there, he turned off the lamp on her bedside table and opened the window gently. Once he was on the sill, he pulled his wings out again and flew out into the night.

Hey there! What do you think of the first chapter (technically speaking)? It is longer then the first version, and I think it is infinitely better than the first version, which is still up! If you want to go ahead and read it to compare it to the chapters going up, then go on ahead!
I am still debating about different aspects of it, such as her parents occupation *wink wink* and certain individuals that revolve around said occupation *wink wink*. No matter what I want to keep a character similar to two for those individuals because I honestly fell in love with the pair (bromance is strong with them).
Anyhow, what do you think of the cast list? I brought it up in the VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE I posted earlier today (25th of April) about it. I am not sure about the inclusion of Jacob as Liam Hemsworth, but I am thinking of other actors and such. I'll change it by the time this goes up, most likely.
And that concludes this note! Other than the fact of saying thanks for giving it all the support it already has, I don't have much else to say.
Like, vote, etcetera.

(P.S. I am currently listening to American Idiot by Greenday and rocking out as I type this :D)
