Hello, everyone! Today we have another mythical and amazing author, KM_Warcop, sharing her story and discussing about her work with us.

About the Author: Her name is Krista. She is a reader, writer, soldier, and a soon to be Dental Assisting student in the Canadian Armed Forces. She likes to swim, does her zombie run training, and goes to the beach.

About 'Sands of Yore': Bailey DuMont didn't think that her trip to Egypt would end up being her first and last visit. She was there to fulfil her mother's bucket list. Instead, she's flung into the ancient world where she has an unpleasant first encounter with Pharaoh Bes. They were never supposed meet, it was never supposed to be possible, but the Fates had other ideas. With the rising dangers, including a murder attempt is up to Bes and Bailey to work together.

1. What made you start writing on Wattpad? What has been your favorite moment so far on the orange app?

I saw it as a great opportunity to move away from FanFiction and Fiction Press. Also, you can't just copy and paste like you can those sites.

2.Which mythology and/or legends influenced your story? Why did you choose those?

Just Ancient Egyptian Mythology. Though my other story "Faith's Dreamscape" has more in depth of the Gods/Goddesses that were revered in that time.  

3.Tell us about the main character of one of your stories. What inspired their creation?

In Sands of Yore, we have Bailey DuMont, a young woman who had lost her mother to cancer who, after traveling to Egypt to fulfill the rest of her mother's bucket list, was transported to ancient Egypt. The creation (including the whole story, pretty much) was because of a dream. 

4.What were some challenges you experienced while writing the story?

Oh my, uh, I think it was going from 1st person to 3rd. Editing it and adding more to it. By no means is it completed as I'd like to completely redo it sometime in the future. I wanted my story to not be so, cliché? I guess (not that there's anything wrong with it)... so thinking of ways to do it and how to have my characters and the storyline was a bit difficult...also didn't help that I never did an outline...and then completely losing 3 chapters after the blue screen of death. 

5.Do you have a song playlist for writing? Can you share one with us?

No, I don't. I find that, depending on what I'm working on, music distracts me...but if I do listen to music, it's just the local country station. 

6.What is your favorite myth or legend? Why?

Ancient Egyptian mythology. It was something that I have always been in awe about (especially when I was a little girl), or maybe it was because I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! growing up. Either way, I'm still very much into it. 

7.What is your favorite mythical creature? Why?

Oooh, that's a hard one. Well, this isn't regarding ancient Egyptian mythology...but I would have to say that the Phoenix is mine. (I actually have a tattoo of a Phoenix). Reason? I'm in the Canadian Armed Forces, and with so many people telling me that I couldn't do it, that I didn't have it in me (I have been in for over nine years now)... and getting this tattoo represented change for me. Being reborn. Like the Phoenix when it is reborn from the ashes. 

8.If you could have the same powers as a creature and/or deity from mythology or legends, what would it be? Why?

I never really thought of it. Maybe a dragon! Oh yes, a dragon! I think that flying around and just being...cool like that? Yeah. Or maybe a mermaid! Inner childhood activated!

9.What is your advice other writers who want to use mythology in their story? 

Definitely do research, but also, just have fun. Create your own! Use your imagination. Don't worry about what other people say, but also, don't be afraid of constructive criticism.
