Emerald Secret
This is just me having fun. I love this series, and I wanted to write it! But I didn't want to write Seasons 1, 2, and 3, because my character's age made her a little difficult to get her in there. Plus, all the good stuff happens seasons 4, 5, and 6!! So... I skipped 'em.
Anyway, for any geeks as big as I am... hope you like this!
Also, THIS is my character Violet: She is the younger sister of Garroth and Zane.

"Are we there yet?" Garroth complains.
"No." Lucinda says.
"How 'bout now?" Garroth tries.
"No!" Lucinda says.
"How 'bout---"
"Garroth! You have been asking for an hour! Stop!" Lucinda commands.
"Are we there yet?" Kim asks, grinning.
Garroth starts giggling and Kim and I join him.
"Kim!" Lucinda pleads. "Don't encourage him!" She turns to Aaron in disgust. "Ugh. Aaron! Can you believe them??"
He doesn't answer for a second then starts and pulls his earbuds out. "Huh? Uh, sorry, I put my earbuds in like an hour ago. When you first asked." He says flatly to Garroth.
Lucinda glares at him and we all fall silent. Garroth wiggles in his seat after a second. "Are we there yet?" He says in a low voice.
"ARRRRG!" Lucinda growls. "VIOLET! SWITCH. SEATS WITH ME!"
"No way!" I cry. "I'm not sitting in the back!"
"UGH!"
"Hey, listen!" I turn up the radio and mouth to Lucinda distracting Garroth now.
Lucinda's face lights up. "Oh! I love this song!"
Baby, there's a place where we can go, where it's always shining like the snow. Listen to your heartbeat, don't you know? That I just wanna be with you! Oh-oh-oh.
Aaron stops the car. "We're here, guys."
"Yes!" I cheer, piling out with Garroth, Kim, Lucinda and Aaron. We all grab our bags from the trunk and pile them in the snow.
"Well, here we are!" Garroth cheers.
"This place is a---" Aaron starts.
"Total dump." Lucinda sighs, shaking her head.
"Huh?" Garroth shakes his head too. "I don't understand. Our parents said this place was fantastic!"
"Judging by the looks of things, this place was fantastic." I say. "But...that was years ago." I turn to look at the lodge. It's high enough that I have to bend my neck uncomfortably far back to look up. It's built nice enough, wood logs and stone some places, but it's covered in snow. I pull on the fleecy sleeves of my yellow sweater, forcing them to stretch past my wrists to make up for the absence of gloves.
"Ugh, see why I thought this entire thing was fishy?" Aaron asks, groaning.
"It did sound too good to be true, Violet." Kim says timidly.
"Yeah, but---"
"It sounded awesome getting paid to vacation." My brother finishes, walking towards the lodge.
"Garroth, we are not vacationing!" Aaron snaps. "Our parents said to fix things up!"
"Well..." Lucinda starts, examining the lodge. "Nothing a few potions can't take care of and---" She stops, her face falling. "Uh---Wait, wait." She starts tearing through the suitcases. "Where is my potion bag?!"
Aaron runs to the car to look, while Garroth, Kim and I help her look through the bags.
"I--I...I didn't see any other bags in the car." Kim admits nervously. "Maybe you forgot to bring it?"
"MMM!" Lucinda groans. "There's no way I forgot to bring it. I probably put it on the ground, and forgot to pick it up somewhere." She sighs, not believing herself. "Yeah."
"It's okay, Lucinda. We'll get you a new bag." Garroth promises.
"Ugh, that's not the point!" Lucinda snaps. "My wand and potions are in there."
"Is it hard to make potions?" I ask. "Where would you even go to get the ingredients?
I didn't see any stores on the way here."
Lucinda sighs. "I'm sure I can find what I need to make some potions, but... it won't be easy."
"Regardless," Aaron starts, and we all turn to him but Garroth. "Lucinda, I heard about your cleaning potions from Dante, and I'd rather we don't use those here. I wanna fix the place up ourselves, and not have everything disappear and then reappear in the neighbor's backyard."
"But---" Garroth starts.
"Garroth, I'm here to earn something for someone I deeply care about. Those things aren't given." Aaron reminds him. "They're earned."
"Fair point..." Garroth admits.
"Still, I feel naked without my wand or potions." Lucinda shudders.
"Maybe we should get inside." I suggest.
"Yeah, it's getting really chilly." Kim chimes in.
"Right." Aaron agrees. All of us walk towards the door. Garroth gets there first and jiggles the handle for a minute before stepping back.
"The door's locked!" He complains.
"Didn't you parents give you a key to this place?" Lucinda asks.
"No." I say. "Why?"
"Are we going to freeze to death?" Kim asks, her voice reaching higher in pitch.
"No worries!" Garroth says happily. "I'm great with getting doors open! Just watch!" He turns to the door. "Stand back, everyone!" He cheers.
"Garroth stop!" I screech. "We need the door!"
"Levin put a key here." Aaron says, holding one up from the potted plant.
Garoth, who was preparing to run at the door, turned to look at it. "Oh. Aw, maaaaaan..."
I pat his back. "We'll find you a door inside, big brother."
He sniffles and Aaron unlocks the door, walking inside. Garroth and Kim follow him, and then Lucinda and I. I close and re-lock the door behind us. Once inside, I scan our surroundings. A huge fireplace is in the center of the high-ceilinged room, complete with red silk everywhere and dusty banners adorning the walls.
"Wow, this place really is a dump." Lucinda says.
"I think it's nice!" I protest.
"Yeah, I'm sure it's not so bad once the lights are on!" Kim chimes in. "Here. Let me get them and---" She flicks the switch multiple times, and nothing happens. "The---the lights aren't working. WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" She screams.
"Now, now, Kim." Garroth says, trying to comfort her as I run over and put my arm around her shoulder. "No one died from a little darkness."
"The circuit breaker must be out." Aaron sighs.
"Which means everything else is out as well in this place." Lucinda finishes.
"Any idea where the circuit breaker is?" Garroth asks.
"They're usually in the basement or garage." Aaron suggests. "But I have no idea here. Looks like we're gonna have to search for it."
"IN THE DARK?!?" Kim squeals. I pat her back.
"Unless it's outside..." Garroth starts.
"Ohhh, greaaaat! It must be out there!" Kim says, edging away from me. "I'll go check, and you guys check in here. Just in case!"
"Want me to come with you, Kim?" I ask, worried about her. "You were just saying it was cold out there."
"Whaaaaat?" Kim laughs nervously. "Pfft. Nah, I'm good! You guys just search in here! No reason for all of us to be looking outside! Be right back!" She zooms out the door before we can stop her.
"Odd behavior." Lucinda murmurs.
Aaron sighs. "Just let her check outside. It couldn't hurt."
"I've got a better idear!" Garroth says proudly.
"Did it hurt?" I ask sweetly.
"No, silly, I have ideas all the time! Not good ones, but..." He grins. "Let's just ask our parents where everything is! Let me give them a call and---" he stares in shock at his phone. "Huh? No service?"
"Ugh, we'll have to get the phones working too." Aaron says, rubbing his head.
"Wait. We don't have phones? No Wi-Fi?" I screech. "WE'RE GOING TO DIE!"
"Calm down, baby sister!" Garroth says, his cheerful face grinning at me. "We just have to look around ourselves!"
I sigh. "Dang. Too much work."
Lucinda peers at the fireplace. "Looks like this is an indoor fireplace."
"Maybe we could start it!" Garroth suggests, going over to it and hitting it repeatedly. "Anyone got a match?"
"All of my spells were in my bag." Lucinda mourns. "Ohh, darn it!"
"I don't think that would work." Aaron says. "I mean, it looks like it runs on gas. We could probably turn that on next to the fuse box. Maybe warm this place up a bit."
"Otherwise we'll be Aaron-scicles! And Vi-scicles! And Gar-gar-scicles! And---"
"Okay, Violet, we get it!" Lucinda interrupts.
"Right." Garroth says, ignoring me and Lucinda. "But, uh, maybe we should wait for Kim to finish looking around outside. In case the fuse box is outside."
"Sounds like a good idea." Lucinda agrees. "Don't want to wander around in the dark for nothing."
"Right." Aaron looks around, and then gets a faraway look in his eyes. "I wonder what Aph's up to? Man... I miss her so much already."
"She's probably playing unicorns with Zane." I snicker.
"Unicorns?" Aaron asks.
"You know. That show she and Zane adore. My Little Horsies. They collect the ponies?"
He laughs. "Yeah. I've stepped on my fair share of horns and wings."
"You've stepped on them? I've broken five of them!" Garroth cries, rubbing his foot.
We all laugh and start searching, splitting up and walking around the main area, trying not to wander until we all admit defeat and come back. "It definitely doesn't look like the fuse box is going to be in here." Aaron says. "We should split up into teams to find it."
"Yeah!" Garroth chimes in. "It's just this place is so big it's intimidating."
"I agree. We---" I start.
"AAAAAAAAH!" I hear Kim's terrified scream coming from outside. She suddenly runs into the room, panting. "Guys! It's cold and scary outside!" She whimpers.
"Well...Yeah, duh." Garroth laughs. "I was wondering why you wanted to go outside."
"It's because I---uh---Am not a huge fan of the dark." Kim ducks her head.
"Not many are." Aaron agrees. "By the way, did you happen to see the fuse box out there?"
"Ummm....N-no. I don't think it's outside..." Kim says.
"Ugh. Then we'll have to stick to the plan."
"Right. Kim, Violet and I will search around this way." Garroth points towards the stairs.
"Got it." Aaron says. "Lucinda and I will check the other side."
"Guys... I don't know if you can feel this, but there's something odd about this place." her low, musical voice sounds worried. "It feels...weird."
"In a bad way?" Aaron asks.
"I'm not sure. I---I can't really put my finger on it. But...as a warning, I think everyone should keep on their toes." Lucinda warns.
"And on that wonderful note, let's split up in the dark, scary house." I mutter nervously.
"This seems like the set-up for a horror movie where someone is going to pop out and kill us!" Kim cries.
"Ha ha! Kim, calm down!" Garroth says, as happy as ever. "Nothing is going to do that."
"Come on, I know this place is old, but it's not that bad." Aaron assures us. "Let's get going." He turns with Lucinda and runs off. Garroth starts toward an old painting, and Kim and I nervously follow. I examine the painting, which looks a bit like a volcano without the lava, and then turn to follow Kim and Garroth. A small humming noise comes from behind me, and I turn around.
And gasp.
The painting now has lava.
"Vi! You coming?" Garroth yells. Terrified, I turn and run after them, not ever bothering to look up from the floor after that. We keep looking for half an hour, and we still haven't covered half of this house!
Garroth, Kim, Lucinda, Aaron and I meet back at the common area.
"Ugh, this place is huge!" Lucinda groans. "I don't even know where we can begin."
"We divided and only conquered the first floor!" Garroth says.
"Um...Oh wait! That's right. I forgot when we got out of the car, you guys had dropped these letters." Kim pulls two sets of paper out of her pocket. "I think they're from your parents."
"Oh, those!" Aaron says. "Yeah, our parents gave us those when we left."
"Let's read them!" I say, grabbing Garroth's and handing it to him.
"Let's see..." Garroth starts reading. "Ohh, it's from Dad! Dear Garroth, if you are reading this, rip up Aaron's note from his dad." Garroth looks up. "Aaron, can I rip up your note?"
"No!" Aaron yells.
"Fair enough." Garroth looks back at his paper. "Garroth, I'm sure you noticed by now that even though we're friends, the Lycans and the Ro'Meaves are often very competitive."
Aaron starts reading his. "Aaron, I know the property is secluded, so there's no signal up there. But I need you to fix up the place. We'll be sending you notes to help. Also, there might not be internet. We didn't want to tell you before because we thought you wouldn't have gone."
"There's. No. Internet?? WE'RE GOING TO DIE!!" Kim and I scream.
"Oh, don't be drama queens." Lucinda chides.
"The first thing you're going to want to do is turn on the power and the boiler." Garroth reads. "It's located in the garage."
"The garage!" Aaron and Garroth say together. They both tear for the garage, leaving Kim, Lucinda and I behind.
"Let them do it?" I suggest.
"First good idea from anyone all day." Lucinda sighs. "Ohh, if I only had my potions!"
Suddenly, the lights flick on. Lucinda looks up. "Well, since there seems to be no danger... let's go down."
"Oh, all right." I sigh. "But if my brother blows something up, it's not my fault."
"BLOWS SOMETHING UP?" Kim screeches.
Lucinda goes down to the garage and we follow, Kim somewhat unwillingly. "This
makes things a little better." Kim admits, looking around the lit rooms.
"What about the boiler?" Garroth asks, looking around until he spots the large gray tank. He presses the button and a huge explosion of smoke rips through the room, almost as loud as Garroth's scream. "AAAH!"
"GARROTH!" We all yell, running forward.
"I--I'm fine." he protests, covered head to toe in sticky ash. "Just a little shaken."
"Oh, Garroth, let's get you back inside." Kim pleads, helping him up and walking off with Lucinda. I go to follow them, but stay back when I see Aaron stopping to pick something up. I just barely get a glimpse of a green flash before he slips it into his pocket and comes over to us.
