Resolutions Of Trust
Okay, so... Yeah... just "so". What do you expect from me, since the New Years party I've kept myself in the house, locked away for a few days now to try and get over this stupid cold of mine. At least it's not that pesky wolf sickness. No one's really come by anyway, and there's the doggy door in the back for Diego so... I mean... Could be worse right? Today, all I can hear is Diego barking and barking, and barking none stop! I don't even know why! So, even if I'm not feeling it, I lug myself out of bed and downstairs. Diego's barking at, someone-Travis-trying to get into my house through his doggy door.
"What are you doing?" I said, 1/3 annoyed, 1/3 asleep, and 1/3 dead.
"You, haven't been, UGH!" He said as he tried to squeeze through. Finally, I had Diego push him out and I opened the door for him. "Thanks now as I was saying, you haven't been answering calls or texts lately, the guys were worried something happened and, while they're all checking in on Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan and everyone else, I thought I'd check in on you." He said not looking at me. I watched him close the door behind him and then finally catch the glimpse of me and jet back. I already knew what I looked like. Raggedy hair, running nose, tears pouring out my eyes, and maybe some of the smell from my puke session last night stuck with me. I knew, I looked, and smelled, awful. Irene, awful. "Whoa Kya, you feeling okay?"
"I'm sick you idiot," I coughed out, then, before speaking, suddenly I could feel my body go limp and I dropped to the ground with a large thud.
"Kya!" Travis shouted as he helped Diego with getting me to my feet, "You should rest. I'll stick around and try to help out where I can."
"You don't have to Travis," I told him, "I can do it myself. This is normal anyway."
"You falling?" He asked and I nodded. Explaining in as little detail as possible so that my head didn't hurt. Simply to tell him that when I'm sick, I pass out. Constantly. "Even more reason for me to stay." Diego barked happily at the idea. Though, little did Diego know, since I locked him out of my room, that my ears and tail have popped out several times since I got sick. Weaker body, less control. "Have you eaten since you got sick?"
"No, but I'm fine, trust me," I say.
"I do trust you, but you should also trust me," He said and helps me up the stairs, "I'm gonna stay. I'll make some chicken noodle soup for you, and if you need anything, just scream for me, okay?"
"I'm fine Tr-Tr-Tra-CHOO!" I sneezed out at the end when he brought me to my room. It was as if him laying me down in my bed as the defeat to my battle to have him leave. He stayed, and I stopped fighting. He left, and the door stayed open. He fell, and I heard him tumble down the stairs. A half smile crossed along my lips as he called out that he was okay, and that he knew that made me smile.
Diego leaped onto my bed and nuzzled my arm, slowly I found myself falling asleep and then, it was as if only 2 seconds I was out. When in reality, it was 2 hours later. Travis was standing in the doorway when I woke up, Diego was jumping off my bed to him, and the in between was simple. He hadn't been watching me the whole time. Several areas in my room and from what I could as the hallway were clean. My garbage can was full of tissues, which I didn't expect him to clean, but the strong air freshener smell from the bathroom was obvious.
"That's right, Travis cleans, and HE COOKS!" He shouted in an accent that almost made him sound British. I cracked another smile and sat up as he set it on my nightstand. "You feeling better?" He followed in, this by dropping his "accent" and looking at me with great hope.
"Y-Yeah... actually I am... thanks Travis," I said and grab the soup bowl.
"Oh, I also got you some groceries, your house was empty!" He said and again, I smiled. He smiled back and with Diego was heading for my door when all of a sudden, my phone goes off. We both look at it in shock. "I thought your phone was off."
"I thought it was dead," I told him and went to grab it. Instantly he dropped to my side. I had to have read the name to the number over and over and over about 20 times until I made the connection. "An old friend." I delete the message off my phone and fully turn it off, placing it back down on my nightstand.
"You aren't going to respond?" Travis asks.
"The 3 of us didn't exactly end on good terms, I won't message or call them for those reasons, but if I ever see them in public, well, that's a different story," I tell him.
"Three?"
"Two brothers," I answer and he nods and heads off, this time around I hear him leaving my house. I look back to my phone and turn it back on. Scanning my contacts for their names. Then I find them. The one who messaged me, and his twin brother.
Antonio and Charlie.
I sat up more in my bed and listened to the messages that Antonio had left me after my almost week of being sick. Several calls, several texts, several emails, several etc. He knew where I lived, why not visit? He had my number, why didn't he call me before this?
"Hey this Antonio, I know we're not really on calling terms, but Charlie and I miss you. Our Mom too. Wherever you are, hope you're doing good," One message said. It was dated a week before I had gotten the clothes.
"Don't freak out, our Mom knows people, she had them drop this off. We remembered how much you loved out hoodies with the galaxy colors, so here's your own," Another message from Antonio. Then there were several left over texts. Several. Just from Antonio, who, I didn't mind being closer to him than Charlie. But I was close to both of them, as much as I could be I suppose. I mean they were in the Trials with me...
~*~*~TIME SKIP~*~*~
Several days later I'm back up on my feet, jobs came pilling in and I took Aaron up and a few of his old offers to help me out. My favorite one is a pre-ordered prom dress for a girl with a large muscled body just like his. When he tried to say that wasn't possible I flashed the pictures in his face for proof. He let out a sigh and then came to my house to help me. A couple of times he came over and helped me out with a few cars and pickups, busy little things. Then it came down to one thing, this guy, jacked me out of a deal. Aaron was there and kept me on the down low with my ears and tail, helping me out by ripping his car apart bit by bit until he paid double and left to go scam someone else.
"I've got your back, but maybe get a real job and not work from your garage," He said once the punk drove away.
"Aaron," I sigh, "I've been trying. But no one will take someone that likes working alone, and has experience in almost every field. They think it means I failed and kept trying."
"Yeah but everything you've tried you've put your A-Game into," Aaron talked me up as I shut the garage down and headed inside, "You're good at everything you try to do. And I know that you wouldn't mind working with someone."
"I wouldn't, and I don't, I just prefer working alone the majority of the time," I said whipping the grease off my face with a rag.
"What about Owen's place? Why don't you go back there?" Suddenly, my mind froze to match my body. I haven't been to Owen's bar since I was 12, after that, I just left, left him, left town, left everything and everyone.
"No," I say simply, "I'm trying to get a car job with Dante right now. I can at least stand him, sorta."
"It's a challenge," Aaron chuckles and I fall in with him. Time passes and soon enough he leaves. I found myself, once again, with nothing to do. Then, I keep thinking. I did all of my resolutions. Why not add a few more?
2-Step out of my comfort zone 15 times
3-Open up more
4-Get a real job or two
5-Go on a date/Get a boyfriend
There, that was my new job for the year. Mostly social things, which I can work with! Hopefully, I could do those, and if not. At least I know I tried, and I have stuff for next year!
I know, at least, I think I know, that I can trust everyone on MyStreet. I'd have to in order for half of these to work out.
