I liked how quick and escalating the whole story was. The twist at the ending was really great and so devastating just like your tag say. You can kind of predict what happened to her and I think that the main category you should keep it in, in my open short story because although it's set in 1911 it's not historical. You can have a date in time but it can be something so modern and so short. I like the ending and the word choice during the letters. Also how it fit most of the tags you listed.
