Chapter 1

5 years later- New York City.
Dawn was in the library, reading one of her favorite books. The librarian, Ms. Coins, didn't seem to mind her being here. Dawn had been coming here since she first came to New York five years ago. Dawn was a favorite of Ms. Coins. The library was huge. It had three floors with stairs leading up to each floor. There were tables on each floor so people can study or read books and take notes. The door to the library opened and in walked Mandy Summers, a college student at UC State. Dawn didn't go UC state but worked as an assistant there in the school library.

Mandy didn't like Dawn because of her personality which she considered strange. Mandy was a girl who grew up in a rich family and got anything she wanted. Mandy in so many ways owned the entire library, UC state and about half of New York. Mandy had blonde hair and blue eyes and was tall and pretty.

Mandy didn't seem to notice Dawn until she was halfway across the library.
"Oh. Hey Dawn. I didn't seem to notice you there. What are you reading? Is it a good book?" She said acting all polite.
Dawn looked up from her book. " I am reading Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. It's a pretty good book." Dawn said.
Mandy tossed her blonde hair back behind her head and looked at the book with her blue eyes.

" So anyway, I was wondering if you would like to come with me to a party tonight since you know it's  Friday night and all. " She said smiling.
Dawn nodded her head yes.
" Good. Meet me back at my dorm room at 7:39." Mandy said delighted. " Oh and make sure to wear something really nice as well. Some of the hottest guys are going to be there." She said before leaving the library.
Dawn sighed.
" I guess I have no choice but to go now." She thought. Then looked back at her book and read. Later that day at her apartment, Dawn put on some jeans and a black shirt. Then she put on some shoes and headed out to Mandy's dorm room.
She took the bus to the school since she couldn't drive there herself.

Dawn arrived on time at Mandy's dorm room only to find Mandy standing outside waiting for her.
" Good. You're on time. Let's get you ready for the party tonight at the lake." Mandy says grabbing her hand. But before Dawn had time to say anything, Dawn was lead into Mandy's dorm room.
When they came out of Mandy's room, Dawn was dressed in a black dress and black shoes. Her hair was down and fixed to look nice.
Mandy was dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans. But she was wearing high heels. The dress that Dawn was wearing was a flowing Victorian dress.
Then Mandy took Dawn behind the school and towards the lake.
The odd thing was there was no one there.
Then out of no where, five guys came out of the woods and grabbed Dawn.
Dawn kicked and screamed but it was no use. She was dragged towards an old oak tree on the other side of the lake.
" Sorry about that, Dawn. But I didn't have a choice." Mandy said a little sad. One of the guys standing there shouted " Hey phantom. Come and get your bride." I had heard from Ms. Coins that there was this legend that a phantom would take his bride under a tree by a lake around 10:00. But I didn't believe it was true.
Then the five guys left. Mandy stood there for a few seconds before saying " you have to wait here until midnight then you can go home." Then Mandy left.

I waited for 2 hours for this " phantom " to show up. But nothing came. A fog rolled in. I just sat there not wanting walk anywhere without hitting into anything  first.

To my left, I noticed a figure standing next to the tree. I stood up and backed away slowly.
The figure walked towards me, reaching out with one hand to grab me. I screamed.
I stopped screaming when the hand covered my month.
The figure dragged me deeper into the woods.

I was scared.

I didn't know where I was going to or if something was going to happen to me. As we got to where the figure was taking me, I noticed a tall gray castle in the distance. Which was weird because there shouldn't be a castle in New York City.
I didn't know it back then but I was about to meet the man I was going to marry.
